BOKO HARAM is just becoming more frustrated. The US terror alert specifically made reference to Hotels and establishments frequently visited by foreigners, nobody mentioned media house(s). Blame GEJ,say wetin happen? How many Americans blame Obama when a suicidal man walks into a crowded place and shoots a couple of people before taking his own life? Terrorism is everybody's war,we cant leave the battle at GEJ's doorsteps cos his security agents cannot be every where. I salute many Northerners in Kano,Borno and Kaduna who in recent weeks have been supplying govt with information that has helped weakening BH's activities. Now BH is going for targets that have no direct relationship with their so-called struggle. The end is near for Boko Haram,i still believe that!! May God protect us all. |
Good read: “If you are taking me to a club to listen to Western music, forget it, I wont go thereDon’t be deceived by this collabo[ration] thing, [be]cause they are trying to tap from usIf you don’t open the doors for us, we would shut our door.I don’t need to do a collabo[ration] with somebody before you can start playing my music thereWe play your songs in Nigeria, did you do a collabo with anybody? We don’t need no collaboration from no artist. We don’t need no Jay Z, we don’t need no Kanye West…” |
I've always known this about the so-called Muslim North. Many don't even realize that its actually the 'christian North' that contributed in giving Goodluck Jona a clean victory at last years polls. I also blame many Southern leaders who know these truths about the North but refuse to educate their followers about the true nature of Northern Nigeria. Everyday,we allow the international western media to tell us that Nigeria has a Muslim North and Christian South. Whereas almost 45 to 50 percent of South Western Nigeria is Muslim,Edo state has entire Muslim communities in Auchi axis. Cant remember the last time Lagos state had a democratic 'Christian' governor (before or after Otedola). So where is this Christian South? Unless we are trying to say that Southeren Nigeria only consists of the South East and South South. The greatest task before enlightened Northerners like the OP is to continue telling and sharing their stories, cos nobody will do if for them. ONE NIGERIA |
In this video, the man seemed very agitated. I think the BH leader will soon be killed. It seems GEJ has quietly granted amnesty to BH sponsors in exchange for the heads of all their foot soldiers. Recent crackdowns by the JTF on BH positions have been overwhelming. |
emiye: Many of the responses here, shows the Political disease most Nigerians are suffering from, it is "Stockholm syndrome"From the little i know 'Stockholm Syndrome' suggests a scenario where victims become attracted or attached to their captors/oppressors. From what i see here, many ACN,CPC and anti GEJ individuals are indirectly falling in love with Boko Haram; because BH's activities seem to assist in making GEJ look bad. These people 'indirectly' celebrate any successful terrorist attack cos it gives them an opportunity to insult and call their president names like 'retardeen' n'll. And whenever govt forces record successes in gunning down sect members, these people ignore such stories. GEJ's opponents are the ones suffering from 'Stockholm syndrome'. @Gbawe,being elaborate in written English doesnt equate to making sense. Why i dont criticize leaders like GEJ is cos,NO ONE has offered any concrete useful suggestions to how best to curb BH. All they say is 'divide Nigeria',kill all Northern muslims','arrest El rufai,IBB,Buhari etc'. No real president takes actions based on sentiments alone, thats suicidal. Yes,we may all know(or have an idea of) who BH sponsors are but without concrete evidence there's nothing anyone can do. We all know who killed Dele Giwa, but do we have proof? |
jmaine: Guess the massive twin bombs that detonated prematurely yesterday was meant to spite GEJ for declaring a June timeline for the boko boys . . .Are we in June already ?I agree with you 100% . From yesterdays attacks,it does seem that the Boko Haram's suicide bomber blew himself up out of frustration...in the process killing a very wrong set of innocents(mainly their own kit and kin). The spokesmen of Boko haram are now too ashamed to publicly claim responsibility for the attacks unlike b4,if they had successfully killed xtian worshipers. Unfortunately, the likes of Gbawe,SR and co on Nairaland seem to have taken up the mantle as BH spokespersons; helping BH claim responsibility for the attacks, insulting GEJ and scaring other Nigerians. May God protect us all today,in June and beyond. Amen |

honeric01: Dey there dey write grammar while blood and tears flow.. na because the thing never affect u or ur loved ones, thats why you dey type grammar. For God's sake please try not be silly. A great nation like America has not been able to curtail incidences of few suicidal people who walk into schools or public places and shoot random strangers b4 taking their own lives. There were 3 cases just last week. And now we are talking about Nigeria with a suicidal sect of thousands if not millions of members. Which magic do u dumbheads expect the Nigerian govt to perform? Eliminate every single northern muslim? Do they write boko haram on peoples foreheads? Do boko haram sponsors keep reciepts of all the bombs and arms they've procured for the sect? Do bomb laden vehicles carry 'i get bomb o' sign boards? The best some of u can suggest is for Nigeria to divide ...SMH |
Almaiga: i dont think so. We have a very weak government and the security agence do not have the capacity to stop the actions of boko haram. I still think that, the only way out is negotiation. Remember, when two elephants fight its the ground that suffer.how do u define a weak government/security agency? In the whole of northern Nigeria only one major incident occured. Thanks to the security folks,no church was bombed. And please let's leave America out of this;if 50 percent of America's population were muslims with home grown terrorists they wouldnt be doing anything different from what Nigeria is doing now. Nigeria is NOT a weak country in any way. Lets use our brains. |
The leadership of Boko Haram are presently too ashamed to claim responsiilty for todays attacks. Cos the fact still remains that today 'Easter Sunday' NO CHURCH in northern Nigeria was successfully bombed by the evil sect. I know for a fact that in recent weeks Nigerian security agencies have crippled Boko harams capacity to cause damage. All BH apologists on NL like ndu-chuks & Co are free to go volunteer as suicide bombers. They should also note that the seven virgins promised them are MALE. For now,GEJ is winning. |
Credit must be given to ur security agencies. Boko haram failed woefully this time and ended up killing their own fellow muslims. Its not easy to police a country like Nigeria, govt cannot be everywhere. May God protect the living and may the dead rest in peace(except the suicide bomber). |

In 2009,while still working in a private financial institution,i launched my own magazine. Invested over N2m on the project, hired some old classmates to run it for me...well as expected, they ran it aground. I even lost my rented office space ,cos the landlady went psychotic on rents. After i resigned from paid employment early 2010,i moved into my media bizness full time. I'm a trained brand innovator and copywriter. I sacked ALL my staff(5 of em) retaining only my PA. We are into advertising; creation/production of tv commercials, radio jingles and newspaper ads. It's a terrible industry cos most big Nigerian companies already have established ad agencies, others prefer to use foreign South African ad agencies. When they give independents like us an opportunity to pitch an ad,they complain that our idea is good but too expensive. But when a white South African team presents a silly ad pitch,to be shot in Cape town, ten times more expensive than ours, the big Nigerian companies jump at it. Thats why most so called quality tv ads aired in nigeria are shot in South Africa or Kenya, they use mainly zimbabwean cast cos their accent is similar to ours. They go a step further to teach them pidgin and clothe them with Nigerian attires just to create a Nigerian setting. Ref: Airtel 'IK' 10/10, Golden Penny, Etisalat, Indomine(mama too good),Blueband, Cowbell and so on. Luckily,i've landed a decent ad deal with an upcoming food seasoning company,to be honest i only got the break cos the chairman of the coy is my 'towns man'. Positive tribalism i guess! I love advertising, especially tv ads,i watch many foreign tv stations just to see their ads. But unfortunately 90 percent of tv ads aired on Nigerian tv can be very irritating, the 'descent' ones are SA productions. I'ld like to change that and make Nigerian tv ads more Nigerian, more creative and more entertaining. Advertising is a passion driven creative industry,it's also very frustrating for independent agencies like mine and u could go months, even years without a single client. But ONE serious client can change ur life forever, especially if ur Ads affects ur clients turnover positively. Well, that's my story. Nice thread. |
Keep making lots of MONEY,she'll be pleased, eventually. If that doesnt work,LEAVE HER and spend ur money on other women,u are bound to find at least ONE that will be pleased. Forget 'sex',anyone can do it(especially poor men) but not every MAN can make MAD money. U dig? |
GREAT VIDEO. I dont know Iceprince wasted money to go shot his 'juju' music video with godfather productions in SA. Many Nigerians artistes are guilty of rushing to SA to shoot music videos not because of artistic or quality considerations but just to feature white or coloured women. Thumbs up to Clarence Peters, always shooting the best music videos in Naija. |
@OP: one of the conditions given by Boko haram for a ceasefire is the release of all their members scattered in various prisons. Now tell me,who put those BH members in prison? Your father? U encountered few unruly soldiers and u now generalize? Why dont u go and enrole in a low or high paying job that promises a daily risk of being shot or blown to bits. RUBBISH! IF all Nigerian Soldiers and police men decide to lay down their arms and walk away, will any Nairalander based in Nigeria leave his or her compound? They'll all be peeing and pooing on themselves even when they hear rats fart. |
David and King Solomon were still men after God's heart. Their stories makes us to understand that God loves us beyond MOST of our sins,so long as such sins are not jotted down in the Ten commandments. But as for King David: This guys was a womanizer from day one and God was OK with it. But as soon as David broke the 'thou shall not kill' and 'thou shall not covert thy neighbours wife' rule, things went sour. Even while God scolded David for taking Uriah's wife,he said;'if u wanted more women,i would have given you',but not a poor man's wife. King Solomon: God knew he was a womanizer from day one,but as soon as he broke the first commandment, things went sour. |
lol,Nairaland will not kill me o! |

I'm from Imo state: my state is a 'silent' oil producer, and thanks to Rochas Okorocha many Imolites are now beginning to see that truly Imo is an oil producing state. Imo also boasts of educated skilled manpower producing one of the largest numbers of educated Igbo Nigerians. @Beaf: of all 36 states in Nigeria, only about 6 are truly productive. Many failed Nigerian states are busy blaming FG for not helping them progress. Now tell me Cross River state, with almost zero oil production has developed into Nigeria's top tourism destination, did FG play any role in that?. It only took a visionary Donald Duke to make the change. Huge changes are occuring in Enugu,Imo and Akwa Ibom. I cant say much for SW regions cos Ibadan,Abeokuta,Osogbo,Ogbomosho,Ado-Ekiti and Ile-Ife still look the same to me,with their rusted clustering brown rooftops. I do hear that Kwara is making great strides but i cant categorize it as SW. Ondo state, with Idanre hills,Bauchi with Yankari,Taraba with Mambilla are supposed to be pace setting states, but well |
Preliminary reports states that only the suicide bomber was killed with about three worshipers injured. Lets hope it stays that way. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/03/suicide-bomber-killed-3-others-injured-in-jos-church/ |
A man living in a small one room hut installs one light bulb, his house now well lit and visitors applaud his progress. Another man lives in a huge mansion with over 100 bulbs, but the bulbs are inadequate and many rooms are left in darkness. Visitors condem and say he has failed. The visitors are wrong and right at the same time. It's still kinda weird when residents of 'the huge mansion' use the progress made by the little hut dweller to castigate themselves. They too are wrong and right at the same time. |
Nigeria should also boycott the upcoming Big brother Africa show. About 60% of ads and other revenue generated from the show comes from Nigeria. Besides we've wont it 3 times in a row. |
Take it or leave it,that South African deportation stunt was a deliberate humiliation of Nigerians. We must demand an apology or retaliate, but how do we retaliate? SA pass us (infrastructurally). Oh well, lets just withdraw from participating in this years BIG BROTHER AFRICA;i noticed that in the last editions 70% of ads and sponsorship were targeted at the Nigerian market. So, we pull out of BBA,dstv looses money,MTN looses (sms voting) money,SA looses money. Besides we don already win the show three times in a roll, our withdrawal go paaaiiiiin them. Who's with me? Spread the word !!! |
juman:NORTH as in inclusive of the christian middle-belt? I laff in urohbo!!! ![]() |
DerideGull:I dont understand why folks like you always give the so-called 'North' undue larger than life powers. Do you think they(the North) would have won the civil war if not for support from Southwest and South south? 'North is too powerful',yet a fisher man beat their most respected son(Buhari) in a presidential election- rigged or not. No region in Nigeria has any monopoly of real power, some just mastered the art of manipulating others in order to retain power, but that ended in June 12 1993. Every region has a voice now, there's nothing like 'one North'-its now Hausa-Fulanis,Kanuris,Nupes,Berom,Ndomas,Tivs and others. Same with every other region in Nigeria;any individual or groups who gets up to say he or she is speaking for Igbos,Yorubas or Niger-deltans is just a clown ![]() |
noiseless:At least i can 'think'. Not gays like you who always make reference to the 'anus' in almost every thread. Male biaaaach ![]() |
Everybody go and sleep,Nigeria will not disintegrate anywhere. You are all focusing on Kwara. South East nko? Do you think Delta Igbos and Rivers Igbos will stick with Biafra? Or will Yoruba Kogi's agree to join SW? the Niger-delta tribes will never speak with one voice, each group will just form an armed militia that will protect and exploit oil wells. Plateau,South Kaduna,South Adamawa,Taraba,South,Gombe, tafawa balewa (Bauchi) are largely christian domains, their indigenes dominate the Nigerian Army, they will never join a sharia North instead they will fight to keep Nigeria one. Nigeria is more inter twined than most of us really know. I dont blame Junaid Mohammed though, 'the Lagos press' is indeed biased in its reportage of the north, and we in the South are fond of insulting ordinary northerners who are even the biggest victims in the mess Nigeria is in. When in actual fact we are supposed to single out the corrupt northern individuals and their southern collaborators who have destroyed Nigeria. ![]() |
Smell of brand new VHS video cassettes,in those days. Smell of early morning in my village. |
Oya o,advocates of sovereign national conference. Will SNC solve constant clashes among these NURTW members a.k.a Area boys in Ibadan and Lagos? They all seem to Yorubas,if i'm not mistaken. |
