My wife got her admission (started online) for an MBA in September 2021 Manitoba (a DLI)
She travelled with my daughter in January 2022.
I applied for Visitors visa also in Jan 2022 because i plan on applying for SOWP by the time i get to Canada considering the time it takes to process SOWP from Nigeria.

Reality today-
1. No response from IRCC on my application.
2. I have sent numerous web forms and emails.
3. My Wife emailed the MP in Manitoba (they promised her 1month)
4. I also requested for the GCMS notes which is expected to be out by mid July 2022.

Suggestions:
1. Check processing time for both SOWP from Nigeria and Visitors permit from Nigeria and see which you can handle.
2. I will recommend you apply for visitors visa after your wife arrives in Canada.
3. I don't know how long it would take to process your Visitors visa application if you apply from Cyprus (You may want to consider this)
4. Apply using the new portal.
5. Have you done your medicals? that alone will take a bit of time to process and upload if you decide to go through the route of SOWP. Please do it asap.
6. You will eventually join your wife either via SOWP or Visitors Visa however while you wait please start working on things that will make you integrate fast and give you an edge upon arrival in Canada i.e. learning French or if there are professional exams (I'm doing both at the moment) No time to waste!

Please note that this is my journey so far and not all applications are the same. Some people may be fast and some slow. It all depends on Gods plan.

2. However, the processing time from Cyprus is just 24 days. While I do not intend to even visit Cyprus, I may be tempted to go that route just to make things easier for me.
3. Can I consider the option of getting a friend to send me an invitation and other necessary details, so I can apply exclusively of my family?I don't know if that would work.
4. I am also considering the option of renewing my US Visa via Interview Waiver, so I can apply for Super visa. How possible is this?

Good evening guys. Kudos to everyone who takes out time to respond to questions and enquiries here. I need guidance on my situation;
My wife and kids recently got their Canada study permits approved. My wife intends to travel alone in August and leave the kids behind, to allow her time to settle. The plan is for me to go meet her with the kids even though I am yet to even apply for any kind of visa.

Here's my worry. Issuance of Canada visa application is so unpredictable with regards to the timing. I want to apply for SOWP, but since I stated in wifey's LOE during her application that I won't be going with her (more like home ties), I am sceptical.

So, I am trying to apply for a visitor visa now, considering that it takes a while for IRCC to respond. However, i am confused as to how to sort out the invitation and Canada address part. In the form I am currently filling on the new portal, I used my wife's school address which I know is wrong. Also, the work experience part is giving me issues. It keeps from progressing by asking me to list all the jobs I have done in the last 10 years, when in actual fact I haven't changed jobs in 17 years. Every attempt to proceed from this part is futile.

I need someone to guide me on how best to approach my visa application, please.

Thank you. I was at DHL today and the lady insisted that she has sent family packages in that manner without stress. I was unable to gain access to Vfs, but i sent them a mail which has been acknowledged. I am waiting for their response. Fingers crossed�

The only problem there is the second transmission fee you didn't pay.
When vfs checks and sees that the payment is incomplete, they send it back without working on it.

Can I quickly go back to DHL and pay the second transmission fee, instead of waiting for them to return the passports unattended to? I intend to either go to DHL and pay the remainder, or visit VFS to enquire about how to remedy the situation. Which option do you advise?

You can first pack each of them separately in different envelopes, then everything together into one big envelope.

My kids just got their study permits approved, but I made the mistake of sending the two passports in one single envelope and paid only one transmission fee. I noticed I haven't got any email update from DHL. How do I remedy the situation?

Hello people. I need proper advise on the category of Canada visa I should apply for.

My wife and kids were recently issued Canadian study visas. She's due to start her studies early September, 2022.

The plan is for her to go alone and settle down before I join her with the kids, hiven that we have a child that is 5 years old.(we have 3 kids aged 11,9and 5)

However, I am yet to apply for any for any Canadian visa and I am confused as to the category of visa I should apply for. This is bearing in mind that I used myself as their home ties while applying for their visas.

My case is more peculiar, considering that I intend to also proceed to Cyprus on studies. However, my program could be done online, so I can be in Canada with my family.

Based on the foregoing, I need your help regarding how best I should approach my application to get my visa at the earliest possible time.

I am just confused. I applied for a Study Permit for my spouse and Visitor Visa for my son that is meant to accompany her in December, 2021, via the newportal. She got her permit approved in February, 2022, but my son's VV is still pending. The last update on his application was a request for "Parent Authorisation to Travel" since March 9th, 2022. I erroneously sent the Travel Authorisation attached to the initial application which was dated 28th November, 2021. Upon realising the mistake, I sent an updated one immediately, but no response till now. I have sent several mails to no avail.

I have since applied for a study permit for him and my daughter while his VV is still running. Hope I am not looking desperate.

Any advise on what I should do going forward?

I would appreciate responses please.

No shaking, your account statement as at the time you submitted is all that will be used to assess your eligibility. Banks do not have legitimate authority to release your bank statement to IRCC other than what you have released. They can only ask banks to verify whether or not the documents you have presented is genuine. If you had used MBS, IRCC will only be shown the period you have asked the bank to show.

Only on rare occasion will IRCC call you for updated POF or interview.

It is always risky to significantly tamper with your POF until PPR is delivered. Often times, you still need it at your POE....

I applied on behalf of my wife for Study Permit and SOWP for myself. Although, we will be travelling with our child, we didn't apply for her since she's a US citizen (we plan to do it at POE). However, we made it clear that she will accompany my wife, hence, the need for me to also go with them.

Guys, what does it mean for IRCC to request for a "Parent Authorisation to Travel" from the other parent? It is in respect of a Visitor Visa for a minor who is accompanying mum on study permit? Does it signify that PPR is on the way?

So, SOP is for school admission, while LOE is for visa application. You can find a contrary definition invented by people online.

But the official IRCC website only mentions LOE, and its function is to explain whatever one wants to explain to the VO. I have never seen SOP on the official IRCC website. I am attaching a proof herewith.

Many applicants wrote "SOP" (Statement of Purpose) for their visa application and got approved. I for one, wrote SOP and another one titled LOE to explain the lump sum in the POF and the approval came as a 1st time applicant. It is a matter of choice and semantics. What is vital is the content, not the title.
