Submitted using the old portal as I didn’t even realize there was a new one, had already submitted before I stumbled on that info……So I guess both the old and new portal still works but just depends on individual case. This is like 3 months timeline from application to ppr request.

It's PPR for a family of five ...... ���. Husband (student), spouse open work permit for me, study visa for 2 children and visit visa for my last Child. All glory to God Almighty. It finally ended in praise. Our time line is attached.

I got the same response. Nothing has changed on my application since 20th July when my upfront medical was updated to pass. I applied 4th of July. IRCC can be funny, but God pass them. I believe I will get the visa before the end of October, 2022

My wife travelled with 3 kids on 25th August, 2022. The rule is that a fully vaccinated parent can travel with unvaccinated kids who are less than 12 years old. This is her case. So, all the kids were allowed to travel with her without stress. Also, fill your arriveCan at least 72 hours before your arrival in Canada. One form is ok so long you include accompanying kids. All the food she carried were packaged and sealed, so no issues. She didn't carry meats, vegetables and milk though. I remember she had the LOI and study permits for everyone handy, alongside the documents relating to her school. That's basically it

PPR dropped for spouse, 13th July
Medical request for son's vv.

Spouse delayed sending passport hoping that son's PPR will drop immediately after the medical exam. Risky decision!

Finally, decided to overcome the village people and send the passport. We guess that's what triggered them to look at my son's own cos eligibility started the same day as the counterfoil on the sowp dropped.

And finally PPR for son dropped today. Just a day after.

Date submitted: 23rd January 2022.
Verdict: IRCC no try at all! But we are glad it has ended in praise.

I initially applied for a tourist visa on February 19th because of the short processing time as of then. When there was no response, I had to apply for SOWP on July 7th and PPR on August 10th few days after my birthday.

My client got PPR yesterday, submitted his passport yesterday and he is at home with an issued visa as of 9am this morning. Avoid Lagos.

better off going with usd and converting to cad in Canada. Cad is not A major currency , heard some money changers have it in the airport but it’s usually expensive and you can’t verify if its real.

Hello People, visa processing time has been revised down to 144 days from 151 days...my application is 146 days today but no response from IRCC .. hmmm..it is like they are playing with us with this processing time updates..

I think you should do just that. I hope to start sending them webforms and mails much earlier, if I don't get a response on time.

Guys! Finally the remaining part of the puzzle was solved this morning after more than 28 emails and webforms back to back. Remember my kids got PPR on 28 June 2022 while my spouse got medical request. The medicals was done July 14th at IOM and the stamped passports of the kids was gotten back from abuja VSF of July 15th. Iom sent the result for medical on July 21st and IRCC uploaded that same day. Then another wait began and i started sending emails and webforms also at some point contacted my mp again. Yesterday morning we got BVL but this morning around 3.20am EDT she go the PPR. At last exactly 1year and 7days becos the application was submitted 22nd July 2021.
It has ended in praises. While waiting for her PPR i already booked airfrance for september just to buy time and also pay less flight fees even at that i paid pass 3k CAD

Applied for visiting visa for my spouse 11th January 2022 and got refusal 9th of February.
I met @Makano on nairaland through a friend's recommendation and we applied for Sowp for spouse on March 13th 2022 and received ppr July 12th.
God is so good, I can't contain my joy.
Thank you Makano for taking my excesses because I'm sure I gave you a tough time. My husband is coming to Canada and it can only be God.

My advice to anyone planning to apply is to use GCKEY, new portal is not that fast again.

Not true. I applied for a friend on the new portal and it was approved in 17days! Just 17 days. Both application channels still work...

I heard it's backlog , indians had many backlog approvals cleared 2 weeks back , some of the backlogs were even last year applications so I believe that must have affected this side , maybe with time here will pick up with Approvals

Congratulations once again bro. I need your guidance on how to fill my form. The form I am filling does not have sections for "Proof of funds" and "Home ties" as you have highlighted. Apart from the 3 IMM forms, I only have sections for; PASSPORT, DIGITAL PHOTO, PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP, PROOF OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION and CLIENT INFORMATION. I hope I am filing the correct application form. If yes, can I merge and upload other documents on the various sections, including "digital photos "?

Hello my people, Please I need your input in this my situation. So we applied for SOWP for my husband in February and Visitors visa instead of study visa for my 2 kids in February 2021 (yes I now know the visit visa for the kids under their dad's sowp application was wrong...bad advise from my agent) . When we didn't hear from IRCC, we applied for a Visit Visa for the whole family in October 2021. After several mails, webforms and letters to MP, we finally got a PPR for only my husband on July 4, 2022. However, my children's visit visa application under the SOWP was withdrawn and their Visit Visa under the Visitors visa application was cancelled with a message from IRCC that they will get in touch with us on what next we should do. This was like over a month now before this my husband's recent PPR request. We are yet to hear from them. We are now confused what to do about our children's withdrawn and cancelled applications. Please has anyone been in this situation or know anyone who has been. Inshort, I just need your input because my husband cannot travel without the children. Please my people what do I do?

I had a similar experience. While applying for my wife's Study Permit, I erroneously applied for Visitor visa for my kids. Wifey's study permit was approved and the Visitor visas were left hanging for months. I had to apply for study permits for them. Then, the visitor visas were cancelled and 2 weeks later, their study permits were approved. I used same documents and applied under wife's application page (new portal). I even ordered for GCMS notes on the cancelled applications and a part of it stated that Visas would be issued on study permit applications. All their applications, including wifey's took 2 months from the respective dates of applications.

I WILL ADVISE YOU APPLY FOR STUDY PERMIT FOR THE KIDS. It will fly

Guys, please help me. How do you attach the IMM forms to Open Work Permit application? Do you just;
(1) fill the forms, save and attach to the application or
(2) fill the forms, print, sign and then attach as PDF?
I ask because there's a place to sign on some of the forms and I don't know how to sign it electronically.

Also, can merge other documents to the various sections? For instance, in the space where you have "Passport" can i merge previous visas with it?

My Spouse applied for Study Permit, I applied for VV so I could visit during my breaks and VV for two of our kids.

Spouse and Kids got Medical Submission request, mine got “canceled”.

Later got note on the portal requesting I should apply for work permit.

Has anyone experienced this, do I have to wait for Spouse Study Permit to be granted before applying for Work Permit that I really don’t need at the moment.

Initial application was on the new portal and I noticed work permit is only on the old portal, can these two applications be linked?

If I may ask, when did you apply? I am in your shoes, only that the study permits for my wife and kids have been approved. I am about to apply for visitor visa, even though I don't mind the SOWP. I just don't like the long processing time for the SOWP. Na wah o
