New generation should take over PDP, build it – Fayose”


The governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has stated that the despite some of the problems the party seem to be facing at the moment, its national convention slated for May 21, 2016 in Portharcourt, Rivers.

Governor Fayose who was responding to the purported dissolution of the National Working Committee of the party by a group of concerned party members led by Professor Jerry Gana, insisted that those against the leadership of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff have lost relevance in the party as they no longer have fresh ideas to bring forward.

According to governor Fayose, “politics and governance is crisis management. Have you seen a party that is not in crisis when it comes to interest and leveraging of interests? Politics is about interests.

Are you saying that you will call somebody in the village to come and take a position? That era is gone.

You have to struggle, you have to make efforts and show that you actually need that position.

Before now, a lot of the people that were in party positions were unwilling characters. Now willing characters are coming out that is why you see the struggle that much.

As a result, a lot of people will be displaced or feel displaced. A lot of people are feeling displayed but it is not displacement as it were. “As I have always said, elders are wonderful people but they should take the back seat. We won’t say they should go.

They should take a back seat. I have no apology over that statement. And I am saying it again that if I am struggling for a position with my father, it is ridiculous. New generation should take over this party and build it.

Anything you are doing and your children do not have insight into it will perish. Since this party started we have always deferred to them.

But are we saying that we should continue to say the younger generation should go to blazes? The question to ask our elders with all due respect to them is that, at some times, if you are the one eating the food, you will pack the plates yourself.

We will have differences. It is normal in politics but washing your dirty linen in public is bad. Let the young men take over in Nigeria” he said. He said most of the people running to court to get injunction against the party do not have followers. “If you are leading as elders and we lost election; most of the people who were Jonathan’s adviser were elders and we lost election.

In most of the advanced democracy, if you lose election, it is just decent for you to allow other people to try, especially young people.

I was governor at 42. You need a lot of energy to be a leader, not when they are giving you Pandol to be strong.

Age is a disease on its own” he said. He said despite the problems in the party, there is not threat that the party would disintegrate, noting that “the fact that there is so much in fighting show that the party is strong.

The fact that everybody wants to be relevant in the party shows that the party is strong. If there is no future for PDP, there would be no such struggle”.

On the call for the postponement of the party, Fayose said that “you can wish anything but God’s plan for the PDP is that the 21st May convention cannot be stopped” he said.

I'm A Prophet, Fayose Makes New Shocking Prediction


The controversial Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has made new shocking prediction.

According to the Cable, Fayose said that Yahaya Bello, his Kogi state counterpart, would soon be removed from office.

The governor stated this while delivering a lecture entitled ‘Journalism and Politics: Two Sides of A Coin’,an event organised by the Oyo state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists to commemorate the World Press Freedom Day.

Fayose, describing himself as a prophet who has never lost any battle, said: “Whatever I say is divine… The next to happen is the removal of Kogi state governor… I have not lost a battle in my life.”

He noted that many people are afraid to speak the truth.

However, he stressed that he would rather die than shy away from the truth.

It was not the first time when the outspoken governor of Ekiti state shocked Nigerians. In December 2015, he came up with unbelievable prophecies for Nigeria in 2016. He said that corruption under President Buhari would be on the increase, poverty in the nation would be at its highest in history.

He also predicted that power generation would drop, while 6.7 million Nigerians would lose their jobs. Speaking about the missing Chibok girls, he said: “In 2016, our girls will never come back because the BBOG people has started enjoying the booty.

Ekiti: Olugbemi opens can of worms on Aluko, alleges he was brain behind the failed impeachment plot against Fayose

Former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Dele Olugbemi, who brokered peace between Governor Ayodele Fayose and the embattled former Secretary of the PDP in the State, Mr. Temitope Aluko (aka TKO) during the March 8 dramatic truce meeting that dumbfounded the world in Lagos, today opened can of worms in reaction to Aluko's allegation of perfecting the June 21 guber poll rigging in an hotel and alleged diversion of N5.2 billion refund for the rigging.

Olugbemi spoke on Ekiti FM 91.5 Radio station today, challenged Aluko to present himself for a traditional swearing to know who was saying the truth between both of them over the truce meeting.

Olugbemi said he has realised ‎that Aluko was a professional and unrepentant blackmailer using blackmail to earn living and that only gullible minds would take anything he has said serious.

"Once someone has turned himself into a political vulture, parasite, scavenger and an unrepentant traitor, there is nothing he cannot deny just to get a pot of porrigde. He is just like a chameleon. He would say yes in the morning, no in the afternoon and a combination of both yes and no in the evening", the ex-Speaker said.

Olugbemi dropped a bombshell when he said that it was Aluko who initiated the failed impeachment plot against Governor Fayose with the APC lawmakers in the last state House of Assembly.

His words: "When I was the Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly, TKO was the secretary of our party, PDP. I have never seen a traitor like him in my life. He was the one who initiated and facilitated an arrangement with the APC towards using the House to impeach Fayose. He took me to Osun and Lagos for the arrangement.

"I refused to do this and that strained our relationship. But we resumed our relationship shortly after the end of our tenure as Speaker. When I discovered that he was always scheming against the governor and conniving with enemies to impeach him after about one and half year into this government, I decided to call him and advised him against his moves. I told him that in politics, there cannot be permanent enemies but permanent interests. I told him decamping to another party would not help, that as for me, I prefer to stay in PDP and demand for what is mine.

" I am so surprised that he could come out to denounce and rubbish with lies, a peace meeting I brokered between him and Governor Fayose. The CCTV camera has the details of all that we discussed with the governor inside the Eko Hotels. Aluko is a morally challenged, socially unfit and academically bankrupt person,‎ As an Ekitiman, I am totally ashamed of him. He has defaced himself, not Ekiti.

Only somebody like Aluko with no intergrity can go to Adaba FM station to tell all those lies purposely to satisfy his paymasters.

" Aluko, it was who had the ticket for the House of Representative but sold it to his Action Congress of Nigeria opponent, Opeyemi Bamidele to make that one emerge the member of House of Representatives then. ‎

"TKO is just a political jobber. He collects money from anyone and tells them what they want to know. He once went to Accord Party to negotiate. I know many of the people in the opposition that he has been collecting money from. He is a chronic debtor. I'll still mention the names of those people if he continues saying those rubbish he's saying.

" I call him an academic fraud because when he was lecturing with the Ekiti State University, he allegedly got admission for many candidates but they only discovered that he got fake admissions for them after four years when they were supposed to get graduation certificates. He has succeeded in destroying the lives of those people. He was asked to resign from the appointment of the institutions then.

"Those innocent military officers Aluko has implicated and made them to lose their jobs and career. Do you think those ones would just fold their arms? He knows he is in big trouble and that is why he is running from pillar to post. He no longer has electoral value and cannot even win in his ward.

"If institutions were strong in this country and if Aluko had been working against the an APC governor and not Fayose, he would have been in detention by now."

Asked if it was fair for Fayose to ditch Aluko after using him to win election, Olugbemi said: "if you were in Fayose's shoes where Aluko who was the secretary of the PDP in the state where Fayose is the head of the party and Aluko took the Speaker of Fayose's government to a secret meeting where there was a plot to impeach the governor. And had also collected a jeep and huge money from a dealer and was also on pay roll of an opposition party plotting to unseat Fayose, would you still fulfill that promise and make Aluko your Chief of Staff?

"I don't know about his agreement with Fayose on the issue of making him the Chief of Staff but I know that Aluko is doing all these he is doing, because the governor did not make him his chief of Staff.

" Fayose is a truthful politician and one who keeps his promises however long it takes, but he delights in his loyalists following his instructions to the letter and not work against him."

Buhari Would Never Lift A Finger If APC Is Guilty Of Election Violence – Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu over the spate of violence in Nigeria’s elections.

Fayose accused the President of ’emboldening his party’ – the All Progressives Congress – by failing to take action on the violent elections conducted in recent time.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka the governor said: “INEC under the present dispensation is the number one electoral offender and that electoral reform without INEC neutrality is a mirage.”

“Even though establishment of Electoral Offences Tribunal is not entirely a bad idea, but INEC as presently constituted does not encourage free, fair and violence free election and it should worry Prof Yakubu that INEC as at today, is being referred to as Inconclusive National Electoral Commission because of the commission’s partisanship.”

“During the Rivers State rerun elections that INEC has been unable to conclude, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was missing on result sheets of over 230 polling units and up till now, all what INEC has been able to tell Nigerians was that the criminal omission of PDP in the result sheets was due to printers error. Was that not enough to cause violence?”

“The day President Buhari interfered with the internal administration of INEC by appointing Madam Amina Zakari, a National Commissioner, as Acting Chairperson of the commission, a title and position unknown to the Constitution, INEC under the Buhari’s APC government lost its independence and its credibility was eroded.”

“The reality that INEC itself must therefore face is that members of President Buhari’s party, APC have become so emboldened to unleash violence on Nigerians during elections because they know that the president won’t lift a finger provided his party members are the ones perpetrating evil.”

“INEC must therefore seek to regain its lost independence and credibility before talking about punishing electoral offenders because as it is now, INEC is the number one electoral offender and promoter of electoral violence.”

Ekiti: Works Commissioner, Kayode Oso, resigns

The Ekiti State Government has announced the resignation of the Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mr Kayode Oso.
According to a press statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mrs Modupe Alade, Mr Oso resigned on health grounds.
Alade stated in the statement, "Mr Kayode Oso has worked assiduously to add value to this administration going by his effort towards the development of our state.
"In his letter of resignation which has been accepted by His Excellency, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose, Oso stated that he decided to resign to attend to his health challenges.
" We wish him quick recovery, the government of Ekiti State will stand by him while he overcomes his health challenges."
Oso, during the first coming of Governor Fayose, started as Chief of Staff to the Governor and was later appointed as Works Commissioner.
Oso was again reappointed Works Commissioner in October 16, 2014.

It is saddening that an official of the DSS holding one Hon. Afolabi Afo Guarantor Akanni; a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, could brazenly insult the intelligence of Nigerians and openly confess to a breach of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 under the claim of uncovering a serious breach that affected the internal security of state against Hon. Afolabi Akanni which fell under the purview of the DSS yet neglect to charge him to court.

This is a clear aberration of the rule of law.
Why holding on to the said Hon. Afolabi Akanni in perpetuity without charging him to court, when the DSS possess avalanche of evidence bothering on the claimed “serious security breach” against him?
Why can't the DSS charge him to court rather than assuming the position of a judge in their own cause. “Nemo Judex in Causa Sua”:The DSS can't be a judge in its own cause.

There is also an urgent need for the other side to be heard through the law court (“Audi Altrem Partem”). Let the DSS charge this Hon. in their custody to court now based on the evidence at their disposal if any rather than giving room for speculations, rumours, misinformation and unnecessary tension capable of setting Ekiti State on fire; God forbids.

Let's agree without conceding that the DSS did not receive the court order asking for the release of Hon. Afolabi Akanni. The DSS should as a matter of urgency release the Honorable now or charge him to court as obtainable in saner societies where rule of law is strictly adhered to instead of rule of brute.

We all must rise above political sympathy or affiliation to condemn this illegal and unfortunate action of the DSS in a democracy. It is Hon. Akanni Afolabi today but could be anybody tomorrow.
