AWADA AND NKPOR ARE AS DENSELY POPULATED AS IYANA IPAJA BUT WHAT SEPERATE THEM IS THE STYLE OF BUILDINGS AND STREET PATTERNS.

IN AWADA AND NKPOR YOU RARELY SEE LESS THAN 2 STOREY BUILDINGS, 3 AND 4 STOREY ARE COMMON WHILE 5 ARE NOW BEING ADDED.

AT IYANA IPAJA, TWO STOREY BUILDINGS IS JUST FEW BUT FACE-ME-I-SLAP-YOU BUILDINGS STYLE.

I KNOW GOWON ESTATE BEFORE AYOBO, I KNOW ABESAN,

AGEGE, IYANA IPAJA ETC DOES NOT DEPICT GOOD STANDARD OF LIVING
Do you know the largest Estate in west Africa...Jakande Estate Abesan Ipaja with over 1000 blocks of 2&3 story buildings.

Do you know Gowon Estate?
its a 2&3 storey buildings in their Hundreds.

Have you heard of Shagari Estate.

guy if you are talking of storey buildings then we can only compare Iyana Ipaja with states in the east. lol

AnambraDota:
Those places you listed hold less than 15% of Lagos population, Ikoyi, VI, Lekki have more corporations than residents.

Iyana Ipaja and Agege are more populated than the whole places combined.
If the south east can boast of either of Iyana Ipaja and Agege then we will have less igbo's in Lagos.
Iyana Ipaja is the equivalent of Rumokoro/ Rumoola in PH.
You speak as if Iyana Ipaja et al are slums.
You can't get a plot of land in Iyana Ipaja for 10M. Even a Flat in Jakande Estate goes for 8M naira, not to mention Gowon Estate, Shagari Estate etc. And you claim people staying there are poor.
The road network of Alimosho can not be match by any of your state capital.

Comparing Iyana Ipaja with up to 3 flyovers when some of your states are celebrating only one flyover. Una mata tire Chukwu Obuko kerewawa.

Bede2u:
lagos stopped being a yoruba land when in 1860 it became capital of british west africa. Many yorubas in lagos today are not originally from lag.... including tinubu and ambode
Hundreds of years before Nigeria amalgamation Lagos was already an 'International' Coastal city. Portuguese slave traders, English Explorers, Arabs merchants, Christian missionaries, Africa Saharan traders, Bini Fishermen etc, were already interacting with the west Via Lagos, While your fore fathers in the east were still practising CANNIBALISM and dancing around Stark Naked.
Lagos became the capital of Nigeria because Nigeria had no choice. It was the first point of call of the colonial masters due to it functioning 'international Port' and arguably the most conducive and civilise place to reside.
So Nigeria owes the west for making Lagos the FCT and not the other way round.
If not for Lagos who would have known there are some landlocked people called Igbo?

I expect you to start another round of yammering instead of answering this question grin
what is your business with when Yoruba declares Oduduwa republic?
Can't Igbo's do anything on their own without dragging others (ss&sw) into it?
Yoruba's wanted a secession clause included in the constitution, Igbo hero ZIK opposed it.
Yoruba's wanted regional governance, your Son Aguiyi Ironsi abolished regionalism and opted for a unitary system.

So long as they reside,do business and pay taxes in Lagos, they have every Constitutionally right to be recognized as integral part of Lagos. And they must also share equivalent right with the so called indigenous.

We are talking about Lagos and your are bringing Abia and Ebonyi into the matter, what concern both States here?
So Igbo's don't reside or pay taxes in kano? why don't you object to Hausa being taught up north?
When I served in rivers state we (corpers) were all made to learn the indigenous languages (kalabari, ikwere, Ogoni etc) in camp despite Rivers being a cosmopolitan state like Lagos.

They're learners compared to Jide Taiwo and Co and not in the top 50 realtor?. If you're going to assert that and term it "fact", then actually produce the facts. What is their comparative portfolio base or their comparative turnover?

Most of Brickwall's properties are outside Lagos, but they own estates in Ajah and Ikorodu. To be fair, their portfolio doesn't look that large. But a good number of companies I checked from your list doesn't either. Fine and Country's international reach is irrelevant. Udo Okonjo is the Chairman, CEO and co-founder in Nigeria and administers their West African operations and she's fairly prominent in the industry: http://venturesafrica.com/fine-and-countrys-ceo-emerges-most-influential-personality-in-african-real-estate/
If you claim they're "big time learners" like your previous "fact" about Kings Court Realtors, then again, substantiate it. I don't take your word for it. You can easily go to their website and see the massive portfolio they control.

If you were not a tribal bigot, you wouldn't have excluded Elumelu who made the list. It was a pretty deliberate oversight to push your blatant agenda even though your point would have still stood whether you mentioned him or not. 1 Igbo man out of 30 is hardly an impressive figure afterall.
The Exclusion of Elumelu was an oversight due to copying and pasting. It's seems you're more civil, courteous and knowledgeable than most ipob touts we have on NL. Most of them brings out data from their anuz without verifiable backup or source. So I'm sorry for towing their path
But on a serious note Jide Taiwo, Diya Fatimileyin, Ubosi etc are in another class when it comes to Estate valuation and surveying, you can ask from anyone conversant with properties.

Finally I'm not a tribal bigot, I just want to make common sense.

No need to exaggerate though. If you claim you've never met a "potor" landlord in Lagos, all your life, you're either telling a bare-faced lie or you arrived Lagos yesterday.
And these guys are landlords in Lagos:
https://www.kingscourtrealtors.com/
https://brickwallinvestgroup.org/
http://www.fineandcountryng.com/

The founders, chairmen, and ceos are Igbo (the last one is an international franchise with an Igbo co-founder and CEO of the Nigerian division). I could probably dig out a lot more if I had the time to devote. Their investment portfolios are probably in the top 10, nevermind top 30, and larger than some people listed in the OP which I believe was a deliberate, mischievous attempt at refuting a particular tribe's contributions:
http://nigerianfinder.com/best-real-estate-companies-in-nigeria/
The list has no statistical basis other than obvious names like the Lebanese Chagoury, and names like Alakija, Ovia and Elumelu (who I note the OP deliberately excluded even though he was listed in the original article). Na so una propaganda don reach?

Oh, and my dad, like probably millions of Igbos in Lagos, is a "potor" landlord. wink You'll see a lot of us here in places like Festac, Amuwo, Okota, Ojo stretching all the way to the Ogun border. And places in the mainland like Surulere. Even if you're an Island boy, you can't seriously be claiming you don't know Igbo landlords in Lekki or Ajah.
Kings court realtors are simply estate agent/manager/advisor. They don't have any estate in Lagos nor own any property.
Even in their field they are a learner compared to Jide Taiwo & Co. I can assure you they are not among the top 50 estate managers and valuers in Lagos. #fact.

Brickwall only own one undeveloped Estate in rural Ikorodu (Mayflower Estate.)
They are not even near Emerald Garden Estate who owns over 15 Estates in Lagos alone, and they are not even in the top 30 list.
I'm sure you won't find them in the top 100 list... Lol

The last company you mentioned is an international company. And even at that they are big time learners compared to Gibraltar, Amen Estate, 1004, etc.

I'm not a tribal bigot. I just want to make common sense

Because we are traders and we understand that communication is important in business. We want to be able to communicate freely with our Customers no matter the level of their illiteracy.
Wanderers not traders. Emeka that left ebonyi for Lagos with nothing is not a trader but a wanderer looking for greener pasture.
A reasonable person/people will always prepare for home, just like jacob. But you'll find 70% of igbos littering the nooks and
crannies of Nigeria, shouting biafra and calling others unity beggars when indeed they are the real unity beggars.
You should ask yourself
1. Why are igbos endangered specie?
(from Asia to kano to even Abia)
2. Why is the igbo language, identity and culture fast going into extinction?
Most of my igbo friends here in the west speaks fluent yoruba but understand little of igbo.
3. Why do igbos leave their land desolate and deserted only to claim the land of others?
4. Why do the world renown developers fail to develop their land?

I wish my fellow Yoruba Christians can read the hand writing on the wall.
Honestly I am tired of educating them. If you try to educate them, those Muslims will start crying on my mentions by telling me that Yoruba is Yoruba.

No problem, the clock is ticking so fast.
Hello yoruba wannabe, your plot to divide us on the basis of religion is baseless n KOLEWERK. Maybe you should first ask why we have Saturdays (sabbath) and Sundays as weekly holiday and Friday (jumat) isn't? . Why should the gregorian calendar (invented by the pope) new year be celebrated and not the Arabic new year?
For your information osun state do declare public holiday for traditionalist too during their festival (odun ise se).
Religion for we yorubas is EQUITY and FAIRNESS.
Mind you I'm a CHRISTIAN

Foresight of whose founding father? Are u talking to kids in your locality? So the development in Lagos has become the works of the foresight of Yoruba leaders. One day Gbagyi people will tell Nigerians that the development in Abuja is as a result of the foresight of their leaders.
my son, sit down let me lecture you...clears throat...
what defines Lagos is not about it being a former fct. FCT was "technically" moved to abuja in the 1980s but Abuja can never match lagos in commerce. people don't leave their villages for Lagos to look at one dilapidated lugard house or Dodan Barack.
They come because its the commercial capital of Nigeria as a result of the port.
what makes Lagos is the seaport, which has been in existence hundreds of years before the formation of Nigeria. Portuguese slave traders, Arab merchants, Malian/Subsaharan traders, Christian Missionaries, British Explorers and British colonial masters gain access to Nigeria using Lagos "International" seaport.
So the west actually helped the rest of the country by offering its existing and viable seaport for national use, so Nigeria owes the West for the port and not the other way round.
its divine location and astute leadership of its founding fathers makes the west what it is today.

[quote author=Amarabae post=60418567]When I was a kid,I loved Nigeria just like every Igbo kids out there, but when growing up, I began to see the hatred as if being Igbo is a sin,
what a country!
Enough is Enough!
It takes an Igbo to know what it means to be Igbo in Nigeria.

its igbos inherent victim mentality and persecution complex that is blurring what they're seeing. what's the difference BTW OJO hawking plantain chips, EMEKA selling gala and DANJUMA in Borno idp camp.
Every region in Nigeria is messed up. The little development you see in the SouthWest is due to her Closeness to the sea (Lagos, Ogun, Ondo) and foresight of its founding fathers.

discusant:
I no talk am? Yoruba Muslims cannot accept anything from this Yoruba Summit.

PDP is what Yoruba Muslims call non-Muslim Yorubas.

It's a diversionary tactic by Yoruba Muslims to make Nigeria sustain the extant political structure and constitution crafted and supervised respectively by northern Nigeria through its soldiers.

The political structure and constitution were made to favour predominantly Muslim northern Nigeria.
The aim was to ensure that apex political leadership of Nigeria is largely determined by Fulani-led northern Nigeria, so that they use government instruments to gradually impose Islam upon rest of non-Muslim Nigerians.
One thing you don't /can't understand about we Yoruba's is that we are first Yoruba's b4 being a Christian/Muslim. Their is no Yoruba family that you will not find both Muslims and Christians living together in harmony and peace. Tinubu is muslim, his wife Remi is a minister in Rccg, Fashola is Muslim, his wife Abimbola is a minister in Rccg, Pa Akande is Muslim, his late wife is a Deaconess in Anglican etc. we are to "sofisticated" to be separated by mere religious inclination. so your Yoruba Muslim/Christian dichotomy is only good for LAWMA.

Their absence is a political calculation and game of thrones, that will remain a mystery to people who never had or govern empires. The Yoruba's always have a back up plan. So irrespective of what happen in/to Nigeria we will always be on the winning side and we can never be stranded. "be yi o je, eyi a je"
That's why the bullish kid (Hausa/Fulani) and the smart and clever kid (Yoruba's) will always frustrate the weakling and daft kid (-----) to quit school (Nigeria).

I have read the crap from you mental incoherency and found it very juvenile. If you have any mental faculty talk less of deranged one, you would have realized that MASSOB came to relevancy during Olesegun Obasanjo's regime in 1999. It is a matter of idiocy and outright deceit for certain clowns in Nigeria to insinuate that the movement for actualization of Biafra started with moronic regime of imbecilic fool from Dauara in Katsina State.
But massob was dead during jonathan's era only to resurrect during buhari's Govt (via Ipob). People know your game plan and that's why all your jamboree jajanweed charade called agitation always end in futility. All you do is cry to high heavens about Yorubas holding you back (slave mentality). In your deluded mind everybody must like what you like. You want your own nation, good, go and get it in any way you deem fit. Whether the yoruba nation support restructuring or a country of hers is non of your business. We're not in anyway connected to the igbos, so our action or inaction shouldn't determine the actualization of your agitation or the source of your headache.

Yeah, but he was sacked as commissioner for special duties for embezzlement of state funds by the same peter Obi , and this same ojukwu son could not win ordinary state legislature election in his dads backyard and this is not IPOB matter but his own wahala. And by the way, why should someone without a university degree be made Commissioner even if he is ojukwu's son. Is there a different requirement when dishing out appointments where the rich and influential are concerned, or did he lose his degree like PMB ...or maybe he went to Toronto University! Dis country sef!
Even Ojukwu the hero of the whole igbo race lost an Ordinary senatorial election in his backyard, so his son losing an HOR contest is normal.
As regard the embezzlement claim...please show me one political office holder that is a saint.
Also a university degree is not the pre requisite to greatness, even the waec cert. Of ur president (like it or not) is still debatable.
One thing about Igbos is that they are too emotional than being logical. Tell them what they want to hear and they will sing your praise to high heaven, disagree with them and they will curse you to your grave. Its a herd mentality, "Everybody must like what I like n hate what I hate". That's why scammers like kanu, fayose n ffk dey easily finger their brain.
