Agreed, my argument is misplaced priority. Statue is good but is it the important thing there right now? Paris didnt misplace priority and thats why we go there to take selfie. So should we now include fish statue as one of the achievement of Ambode by next yr. You see is laughable...for now what we need is productivity, Nigeria is not yet matured as tourist country.
Agreed,Misplaced priority.
But what should Ministry of tourism used their budget for? Or should the ministry be scrapped?
What about the hundreds of Art graduates, they should remain jobless right?
Politics › Re: 'Asa Arokolo' Statue Unveiled By Lagos State Govt @Ogolonto Ikorodu Yesterday by PVision2020(m): 11:40am On Nov 08, 2017
kn23h:
It was learnt that Asa, which is also known as Agere in other parts of Yorubaland, is a traditional festival of man walking on long stilts to entertain the public.

At an elaborate ceremony attended by many traditional rulers and community leaders in Ikorodu and its environs, the revival of Asa also featured the launch of “Asa Arokolo”, a book on the festival published by the Ikorodu Division Rebirth Foundation.
When will "REAGOS" state erect the statue of Chukwu Obuko Kerewawa. We will not take this. Reagos is a No man's land.

What is the function of the fish..?? To me Nigerians no need all these, that fish statue could have empowered 5 young guys with 2m each. If this is done as lottery ones a year...God will easily pick somebody call and live will change.
Crap
What is the function of the Eiffel Tower in Paris? Eiffel tower could empowered more than 1000 youths too nah? But nigerians travels to Paris just to take a selfie with Eiffel Tower. Maybe you don't know there is a ministry of tourism saddled with the responsibility and funds to improve the state tourism status.
Epe is synonymous to fishing, hence the fish statue is a reflection of the peoples History, profession and tradition.
Not some random Zuma, sire leaf etc statue.

Unlike northerners who ignore other areas of the country when they get into power; an average igbo person was raised with a sense of justice and equity.

The problem with Nigeria is that most northerners ruling Nigeria were not raised with sense of justice nor consideration for others. So they dont understand the concept of live and let live
What a lame excuse
So equity and justice to you is embezzling funds made available for infrastructural development of your region, and doing a quack job that didn't last up to 2 years?
One thing I detest about you guys is this attitude of blaming others for every of your predicament. shifting responsibility here and there.

For over Four years Igbo's were the minister of aviation, you didn't hear any Igbo shouting about Enugu Airport despite the fact that innocent/mumu GEJ made enough fund available for the project.

Madam, Stella Oduah and Osita chidoka were your daughter and son that held the Office of the Aviation Minister for 4yrs combine, about 2years ago.
You never laid a demand on them on the Enugu Airport, when they were brazenly looting funds for the project (Oduagates), you guys were busy shouting leave our daughter alone. You can't eat your cake and have it. Who could have ever belief that this is a project less than 3yrs old.
what you can't demand from Oduah and Chidoka stop demanding it from Hadi sirika.

@bolded. Sometimes, i am tempted to ignore hypocrites like you. Look at you asking me about how a facility in Abuja is treated versus a facility in Enugu? Even if Reps talk or not, Abuja runway will be built.

So, what has been the nucleus of our argument since? Is it not the criminal neglect of facilities in Enugu and southeast in particular by the Buhari regime, compared to how similar facilities are treated in other parts of Nigeria? So , why are you citing that a second runway will be built in Abuja, when we know it is not in the 5%ers part of Nigeria?

Kaduna airport's ENTIRE runway (3.25 KM) by 60 Meters was resurfaced and the new terminal building brought to a reasonable level of completion just because it was going to take diverted flights from Abuja airport for 3 months!
Yet, POTHOLES in Enugu international airport runway could not be patched by the same "Federal Government", the same government cannot build gutters to channel away flood water from the old terminal building for 2 years now.
Dude are you normal at all?
Why didn't you ask Stella oduah and Osita chidoka all this?
When they were both siphoning funds (Oduagate) meant for the project you guys were busy cheering them on. Your chorus was " leave our daughter alone".
Who would have imagine that an Airport project that cost the nation huge amount will be in this state of comatose in less than 3 years. Just look at the runway like anambala road.
what you refuse to demand from Oduah and Chidoka don't demand it from Hadi sarika.
Try and be responsible for once, and stop being crying babies.

common sense is indeed not common.
How will a sane man imagine that Oduduwa whose descendants, Yoruba's (both in and outside Nigeria) are over 50M came out from Ogiso of Benin with population less than 3M.

How on earth will Benin with landmass less than that of Ilesa kingdom alone be the progenitor of Oduduwa whose people occupy a landmass 30x that of Benin.

I'm not surprise though, ipob also believes that over 40M Igbo's are Jewish when the world Jewish population is less than 20M.

EternalTruths:

Most IGR are tax based.

So a governor can increase the tax base or rate without helping the citizens generate more income.

In the case of CIS, the governor will focus on programs that can enable the people generate more money.

Example

Imagine Benue state governor opening an agro allied industry that uses Yam as a raw material and then telling Benue people and other Nigerians to supply yams, what do you think will happen to the income of the yam farmers.?

What do you think will happen to the income of the Benue people and other Nigerians if the governor after 5years privatize the company through private investment from the Benue people and other Nigerians.?

Think.

Governors should focus more on programmes of such nature.

Imagine Abia state governor, creating a platform for Aba made products to be sold at local & foreign markets. What do you think will happen to the income of the Aba artisans.?
well said but all that you mentioned above will invariably increase the revenue of the state as well.
Govt provides social amenities and incentives so as to increase its revenue. No Govt. is Father Christmas.
Now to your example, Gov. Ikpeazu promoting Aba made product will affect both the CIS and IGR.
Show me a producing/exporting country/state and I will show you a country/state with huge IGR.
Germany that you mentioned earlier have one of the best economy in Europe despite going through two world wars, not because they are oil rich but because of good Tax regime.
