Christianity EtcRe: Would You Denounce Your Faith For 100 Million Naira? by pweetyz(f): 4:26pm On Oct 14, 2014
simpleseyi:
Which faith are you people talking about? You are a Christian only because you are born in Eastern Nigeria or in Western Nigeria or in Europe or America. If you were born by parents who are Sokoto indigenes, you will be a Muslim today.

If Pope Francis was born in Saudi Arabia by Saudi indigenes, today he will be a Muslim. Also, if the king of Saudi Arabia and the Sheikh of Qatar were born in Owerri by Catholic parents, today they will both be staunch Catholics.

These religious bigots are just over the whole place. The whitemen brought their religions to colonize us. Imaging so-call Christian missionaries capturing our fore-fathers, chaining them down and transporting them to whiteman's land to work as slave. And you call them missionaries of God. The same way Usmand Dan Fodio waged war in the North in order to capture the North in the name of Islam even when Northern Nigeria by then was already practicing Islam. The whitemen came to tell us that our gods are evil and their god is good, yet the God the exported to us killed more people in the Bible and the Quran than the people all our gods (ogun, sango, obatala, oya, amadioha, okija e.t.c.) put together have been accused of killing.

I am a Muslim because I was born into Islam, my wife is a Christian because she was born into Christianity. We are happy together. You all practice one religion or the other because you were born into it. How many of us researched into all the religions of the world before concluding that the one you currently practice is the best. You cannot just have idea about one thing and say that it is the best in the world, until you compare and contract it with all others. ogun and sango worshipers are living peacefully with each other and you tell me that Christians and
Muslims that are also at each others throat are better than ogun and sango worshippers.
very correct..this is the reason why one shouldn't criticize or speak ill of the religion which one belongs to..religion is simply an over-rated way of life..peace
RomanceRe: A Progressive Perspective On How To Deal With Heartbreak(s) by pweetyz(f): 4:20pm On Oct 14, 2014
TheCongo:
From the Bishop T.D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk.

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone and move on.

When people can walk away from you, let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.
People leave you because they are not attached to you. And if they are not attached to you, you can't make them stay

People leave you because they weren't born with you. And if they weren't born with you, you can't make them stay.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person, it just means that their part in the story is over.
And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead.
You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye.
It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me.
And if it takes too much sweat, I don't need it.
Stop begging people to stay.

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to, Let it Go
..difficult..but true

FamilyRe: Can Nigerian Schools Really Educate Without Corporal Punishment On Students? by pweetyz(f): 5:01pm On Oct 10, 2014
In my own view corporal punishment is something that should be used only when necessary

even the bible itself supports corporal punishment "if you spare the rod you spoil the child" but this does not mean that you should use it whenever a child makes you mad

ben carson in his book "think big"..talks about corporal punishment..he says that it is something you should do with a frown and a sad heart because you only want to correct and not punish the child
children should be warned and talked to on several occasions before they are punished corporally
therefore nigerian teachers should endeavour to correct the child first before retiring to punish the child so your child's teacher might not be wrong if she's warned your child
you should endeavour to correct your child too to avoid being punished by his teacher

I have a friend who experiences hair growth on her jaw like you do but she ensures that she plucks them out while they are still tiny and not noticeable..i do it for her so you can get a friend who'd do it for you..that way no one would ever know that you've got jaw hairs
