I have some questions bothering me
What could be the reasons for having different labs giving you different geneotype results. could it be the amount of a certain gene is very low or insignificant, so the test could not detect it?
Are the level of SS severity/disease different between SS sicklers, 'hav heard bout some sicklers always on admission, while some others just take prescribed pain killers

Hmmm-----------------------------very sensitive

What else can i say

Am absolutely sure 90% of Nigerians who call you or other AAs Akata do not mean it as a derogatory term.
A (brother)/Nigerian who lives abroad and has been away from home for long is an Akata, the meaning is just as simple as that
You could be named 'Alex' which is not bad i suppose, but the tone and facial expression used to pronounce that same 'Alex' at another time could be seen/interpreated as derogatory/annoying

However i am of the opinion that if you call someone a name he does not like, you may as well STOP calling that person by that name.

That said you need to educate your folks as well, they use derogatory terms on us and your manner of presenting this complaint has bn quite judgemental, you have put both the good and the bad together as if nothing good can come out or be said of west africans

That just goes to show you are no better than those who might have meant the term in a derogatory manner

I Suggest we STOP referring to AA as Akata if its generally percieved as derogatory amongst them.

Nairaland / General / Re: If You Could Change Your Name by queentayo: 7:40pm On Jul 27, 2009
If i could change my name

I would remove all the English/Religious names from my certificates and my identity

I love my yoruba name and i believe all african names have short forms or can be pronounced by anyone if they make the effort, afterall we make the effort to pronounce foreign names whether pronounced correctly or not we still try.

I dislike English names, Jewish names or Arabic names for an African, i believe its a form of Slavery or Inferiority Complex or Identity Crisis of a kind
, , afterall The Most High is not partial, he created and understands every language.
Nairaland / General / Re: What's The Problem With Ibo Girls? by queentayo: 7:17pm On Jul 27, 2009
My brother is happily married to an ibo girl.
Have got quite a number of female yoruba friends happily married to ibo guys as well
So I absolutely agree with eyonigger

I think its about the Person, Upbringing, Exposure, Values, and sometimes religion.
As long as we all remember the other person is a Human beign/individual 1st and not a tribe or religion(it does matter but its secondary) It would then be easier to have an open mind to get to know such persons before stigmatising/stereotyping

You'll find out in most homes of the same tribe, there are different practises and interpreatation of culture and tradition,

Onyeben, i wish you the best, whether Ibo, Yoruba, Calabar or Hausa girl.

CULLED FROM "THE NATION" NEWSPAPER JULY 18TH 2009

Enough is enough, Ijaw leaders warn Niger Delta militants
LEADERS of the oil-producing communities in Izon (Ijaw) Nation of the Niger Delta yesterday threatened to mobilise against the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) if it continued with its wanton destruction of oil facilities in and outside the region.

The group, under the auspices of Izon-Ebe Oil-Producing Communities Forum (IOPCF), particularly condemned Sunday night’s attack on the Atlas Cove Jetty in Lagos, by MEND, describing the action as the height of the group's excesses.

It called on the Federal Government and security agencies to unmask those responsible for the attack, which led to the death of seven persons, and ensure that the criminals faced the full wrath of the law. It stressed that genuine agitations must be separated from criminality.
"IOPCF said the activities of MEND and its utterances in recent times showed that the group had derailed from the struggle for the development of the region, saying that the group’s operations now portend more dangers to the oil communities.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOW I REST MY CASE, Goliaths of Biafra lets know when you have finished roaming up and down the various regions looking for conflicts to instigate for your selfish interest.

BRING IT ON,

Na today una begin throw insults and fist when you cannot hold up a superior argument?
Na so una talk how hausa na goat until dem begin slaughter una with trailer loads carrying corpses back

For the Subtle and Cowardly Yorubas, you have been unable to get rid of them for over 40 yrs you've been advocating for your state. Inspite of all your brawns and 'brains' and they bn your problem

Una dey vex say Fashola is changing Lagos so u r pleased to have it destroyed

JEALOUSY Anything that shows the progress of another man/person/tribe makes you BITTER and hungry to destroy.
Envious of your brother at christmas
Envious enough to cause wars
Envious to cause strife amongst others
Not one 'SHIT HOLE' in your region is fit for non-indigenes (using your language)
As great as una be you find it hard to sit in your 'paradise' and let others come looking for your wealth and wisdom like king Solomon
ENVY ENVY ENVY

The earlier Nigeria SPLITS the better for all !

I REPEAT FOR ANY GROUP THAT INTENDS TO USE THE YORUBAS AS A TOOL WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU trembling and shaking in our pants - ------------ - - - - - - - - - -
WITHOUT APOLOGIES we shall always be malignant and cancerous to your bone marrows and until you find a cure yor us, we shall resume this subject then.

SATIRE to @bialegend, @Ikeyman00 and Co

Inspite of your 'Great Intelligence'
You pretend the Yorubas are irrelevant and yet he is the cause of All your Failures and Woes.
Yet Its taking you so long to do Away or Without the Yorubas the cause of All your Failures and Woes

Inspite of your 'Great Intelligence'
You cannot get rid of the Yorubas who is but a 'Speck '
how then can you deal with the region you have identified as the devil

Inspite of your 'Great Intelligence'
You cannot see that the ant eating the Spinach lives right there on the spinach where your
fellow tribesmen are looting state coffers and taking diabolical oaths in shrines and murdering their own.

Inspite of your 'Great Intelligence'
Its taking you so long to know the Yorubas cannot be trusted
Yet it took the Yorubas a short time to know 'You who cannot trust his brother cannever be trusted'
According to Igbo man saying
if you see an Mbaise man (Igbo man) and a snake, kill the Mbaise man 1st, another igbo man will rather trust the snake than Igbo Man So MUCH FOR TRUST IGBO MAN TO IGBO MAN how much more me stranger

Inspite of your 'Great Intelligence'
You cannot see that the whole of West Africa if not the whole world is waiting for NO Nigeria and birth of other states. From China to South Africa, to Libya and Italy including MOI all tired of Nigeria

Inspite of your 'Great Intelligence'
Grow up, take responsibilities for your actions, be a man and stop Moaning like a child

Yes oh! Yorubas cannot be trusted, every man for himself and God for us all
Havent you heard To your tents oh Israel

Even the Igbo man has a saying "if you see an Mbaise man (Igbo man) and a snake, kill the Mbaise man 1st, another igbo man will rather trust the snake than Igbo Man So MUCH FOR TRUST IGBO MAN TO IGBO MAN how much more me stranger

Your SAINTLY Heroes like chukwumerejie never ate crumbs from tables

Who is interested in one Nigeria, I DO NOT WANT and have never been one to advocate for One Nigeria, travelling around the world with Nigerian passpot / citizenship is so much hassles. if its not harrassment because of your brothers in China it is european airport wahala while your sister is busy with fake rebranding.
So dont think i am one of those advocating for one Nigeria .
Pls by all means get on with your BIAFRA and God help the MENDs if they do not understand on what side you are or where they stand with you
Politics / Re: Fashola Warns Mend by queentayo: 5:06pm On Jul 17, 2009
@IBIME, I suggest SUICIDE BOMBING Yoruba states is the only way out. All this your yarn from UK is a complete waste of time
Your insulting everyone is very typical , wasnt expecting any better, when unable to hold any argument you rather throw insults

you siddon UK                   rubbing minds with some  'do nothing people'

Check out the Middle East, less talk, plenty action and they are gaining a lot of respect and attention from the Western Countries.

YOU SIDDON UK instead to go SUICIDE BOMB Yoruba states
i bet you are rolling around from  Ibiene to Ibinabo, to Adumo and then Tonye enjoying yourself in UK while you are happy to hear reports of your pple  doing Muhajideen for you to come back home and hold a political post.

When you SAINTS finish killing 'everything and everyone' of course what next , kill yourselves move from Sokari clans men,  and then kill Alamina clans men and next the Douglas

With no apologies abeg attack and destroy as many places as you can. Some of us are waiting to gain from those MENDs Rich men you and i know in lagos
Politics / Re: Fashola Warns Mend by queentayo: 3:17pm On Jul 17, 2009
Am quite happy with what MEND has done  as regards Lagos state. In their true character, bn AFRAID of the NORTH or targeting any northern state they decieded to target a yoruba state

When OPC starts on their pple in lagos that is when we would start hearing stories of how barbaric other tribes are.

I agree Fashola and all Yoruba people na mouth but,
I know quite a number of  properties owned by MEND's TRIBE men in lagos and i and some other colleagues are looking forward to taking over, occupying and becoming the landlord of some of these properties

MEND abeg NO STOPPING Una well done, this is my time
