nairalanda1: Depends on what causes the suicide
In Nigeria, suicide is usually due to economic factors. As for depression, it plays a role, but because we are a more communal socieity, it tends to mittigate any issues from depression
UK is a more indiviualistic society, so depression there can lead to more suicide. As well as ocassionally economic factors.
What would be better from you would be a compaision of suicide rates between Nigerians or africans at home and those abroad.
THEN...you should keep in mind that suicide rates in Nigeria are inaccurate due to poor record keeping and inadequate records.
(This is not a commentary on japa and the reasons for japa). I think the reason is almost entirely environmental. I don't think God intended man to live in a cold, damp place, with no sunlight! |

APC has failed us on everything, including the conduct of a census as the basis for national planning. The difference is too much for it to be data |

MrPOTUS: I think it's more about culture, not that Nigeria is better.
There they practice more of individualism while we practice more of collectivism. Here we have supports, especially from families. I think it more environment - damp, cold, no sunlight. God intended man to be around the African-type wrather |

thedio: Nigerians are mentally strong. What Nigerians are using to crack joke (rem Fela words suffering and smiling)is bigger than what makes those folks commit suicide. I think it's more than this. I think it's more environment. If you stay in a cold, damp place with no sunlight for a protracted time, you'd be contemplating suicide too! |

There they practice more of individualism while we practice more of collectivism. Here we have supports, especially from families. Also, a cold, damp place with no sunlight is not good for the human psyche. It is mainly due to that - it is environmental |

Love800: UK people are not meant to be rich. Yea, they are poor.
No pocket money(low bank account).
But in terms of quality of life, you will be rich in that aspect. UK has provided everything for you. Just use your poor/average money to access dem. Thats the goal.
Hustling Nigerians in the UK are just there to gather the money and bring it to Africa to invest/spend, where they can live like kings/queens due to the exchange rate. Except you don't mind be poor and only concerned about the quality lifestyle plus credible law and enforcement, that is when you will remain in Europe/America. But I don't see many UK-made millionaires in Nigeria living like kings and queens. Do you? Where are they? |

KaLuCh: Una and rubbish talk. You get taxed, yeah, but that's roughly 15 percent of your income with 12570 pounds as untaxable income. The remaining 85 percent is yours to decide how you spend. If you can't save, it is not the government, it is you.
Una go dey compare nonsense. There is not a single individual living legally in the UK that will be compared to a Nigerian counterpart. So how come regular people in UK are struggling anf having all sorts of problems and blaming immigrants. How come everyone in UK is not a millionaire? What happened? It is a mystery and I honestly want to know |

MrPresident1: We utter brainwash. Constantine created Christianity and that is the fscvr of history. Constantine is the one that merged and syncretized Bible traditions roman paganism
'Harmless' or even gormless roman traditions? Such ignorance. Such utter ignorance. Why woukd Constantine who was being worshipped as a god willingly drop his godship and became a lowly sinner in need of salvation? Was it Constantine that told his mother and top generals to become Christians long before his Edict of Milan? Why convene Nicea where Bishops debated for weeks to decide the Godship of Christ? Why didn't he just issue an edict?? Mention one thing that is relevant to salvation that was not in place before Constantine! |

Do I design scientific studies??!! |
Christianity Etc › Re: How Christianity Brainwashed Me So Much (Photo) by QuinQ(f): 9:40am On Jan 11 |
MrPresident1: Lol. Christianity is the religion of Rome. Emperor Constantine syncretized early Christian traditions with roman paganism and came up with Christianity.
Don't roman Catholic use images? Did God not explicitly command against using images in worship? See utter ignorance. Constantine who was barely a Christian. You forget the Pope became more powerful than the emperor. Church fathers made the decision to incorporate some harmless Roman traditions into Christianity. Also see helow. These were written long b4 Constantine.
