Hi everyone, please I created this thread for us all that were invited for the above-titled test on the 11th of June in PH. I figure we could share ideas and especially resources on what this test looks like. I'd like to open up with a request for help. What does the test look like, how many parts and how long, what areas will it focus on and after we pass, what next? Another test or the interview proper? I'd most appreciate access to the question types. Thanks and God help us all!

Test is 3 sections for everyone but the third section differs according to what u're course of study is; for Geosciences, 50 GLY and 50 GPH questions. Expect stufff on Plate tectonics, Pet. gly., log interpretation, seismic exp, geophysical methods and phy prop.s of rocks. Cheers and God's grace,

With KPMG, you have to, firstly, dress smartly. Look clean ( a hair cut, a good shave and an impressive set of clothes will st you apart. Appearance has its points oh!!!!). Next, go on time. Be there about 15mins to time. You should be interviewed at 22 Gerrard Rd, Ikoyi. Expect to be interviewed on the entirety of your job experience. Arm urself with the details of the roles and responsibilities about your job. Prepare for personal questions. They're not just asking about ur abilities but about the way u'l relate to future colleagues. Remember your duties and the challenges you've faced. They like to assess your other/softer abilities. Not just ur geology knowledge base.

Lastly, pls compose urself. Cheers and I pray you get it. Remember, ur halfway there since u got an invite to the interview.

Hi people. Mobil has advertised its Esso Scholarship award for this year. These are the essential requirements:

1. Must be a grad from a Nigerian University with relevant degree (B.Eng in Chem Eng., Mechanical or Elect Eng) or B.Sc Geology/Geophysics)

2. Bachelor's degree with 2.1 min in any of the Engineering discipline and Geoscience.

3. NYSC discharge cert or exemption certificate. Those completing NYSC by Sept 2007 may also apply.

4. Must have provisional admission/accomodation into a reputable university in the US, UK or Canada only.

Hey good peole, I know for a fact that the scripts have been marked and the results are ready. The issue is now that someone high up has asked that a hold be placed on the interview. Basically the passmark is 50 and a fair number passed (despite the negative marking). The successful candidates will soon be invited to the interview- beleive this. I hear that it should be in a few weeks (2-4wks), so don't despair. God dey.
If you make it to the interview, it will be infront of a 4man panel. Pls wear your best suit and either a white or blue shirt (plain, no stripes pls, these are the banks colours for guys; gals can wear anything conservatively decent i.e dull colours except green e.g gray, brown, navy blue). Black shoes pls and neat hair. Expect questions about their board's composition and how much u can bring. Relax and remember that they're human like you. Smile and be polite and straight to the point. After this, assuming you pass, it's off to a meical test and then to training skl in Lag (after 2-3weeks). Training skl is for 6wks and u get paid but get no accomodation. You're entiltled to lunch there. So, smile,

I just want to say that KPMG's reqiorements are a 2.1 and a smart mind (since the test is a once for all time opportunity). I didn'r get to read your cv but if you're confident you have both, then forge ahead. All the best.

Hi ya, I actually took the test and passed it. The test is a 2 part thing, the first one is a 50part obj question section (1hr) that includes mathematics, english (GRE) and critical reasoning GRE questions. The questions change with time but if you can get a hold of anyone who has taken the test in the last two weeks (its a weekly affair) then you'll know exactly what the questions are, word for word. The second section is for 20 minutes and involves your writing three essays in the alloteted 20 mins. It's crazy but they expect you to put your best.
You should know that after the interview, there are still 4 interviews ahead before you pass. This is all I can say. All the best to you.

I must tell you this, any so called employer who requests for a "processing fee" of whatever amount is most likely a fraud. It goes without saying that no credible company would be looking to profit off job seekers! Abeg shine ya eye well well oh!!! Times are hard enough, we don't need to be swindled on top of that!!
