You love asss lockers, don't you?

We try to weigh the two sides before coming to a conclusion, but you guys prefer people whose judgement is inclined towards the victim.

If you follow such a pattern, how will the culprit get a fair judgement. Would you just condemn people because the committed a crime, or would you love to hear how and why they did it?
The OP specifically mentioned that this is for convicted criminals only.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Thanks.
Have you not seen all these #50 newspapers sold on the streets of Lagos. With Gory pictures and endless tales of people turning to snakes and blah blah and people gather to read them.

If there are enough funds, one can even print 2-5 pages weekly showing pictures and details of verified and convicted sexual offenders. The legal backing you talk about may not happen cos most of the men in charge have little or no respect for wonen/womanhood/rights of women and children and may even be guilty of one form of abuse or the other themselves.
I could not help but notice that line. I am usually in awe how nairalanders themselves abuse and bash women daily on this website. No respect at all. I remember a gang-rape case of a teenage girl on nairaland and everybody kept blaming the girl.

Rape occurs to both male and female, young and old.

Almost everyday we get a front-page post on nairaland full of men calling women worthless. Seun should encourage threads that uplifts and empowers women.

To the case at hand, I really do like your newspaper opinion. Its a step in the right direction. If the Nigerian police force is willing to co-operate, then we can win this war.

Africa is such a wonderful continent, where people with ordinary high school cert are allowed to run the affairs of nations.

In this 21st century where technology is making globalization indispensable, I wonder how such men can function.

It's even more shameful to see the educated ones willingly ready to give their lives for these uneducated diehard rulers.

#Africawakeup.
And Able, young, athletic youths with Master's degree are running up and down looking for Jobs.
RomanceRe: Talk Some Sense Into My Head.... This Guy Is No Good For Me by raayah(f):
You have to be an adult in this situation and realize that this relationship is unhealthy for you.

No one is going to force you to leave him.

Be honest with yourself. Grow a pair and stop contacting this man. Give it time and you will be able to get over yourself.
I will also advice you to love yourself. If you love yourself, its easier for you to be more honest with yourself and you will want to do the right thing for yourself.

You can end this relationship.

Find your inner strength.

what about unmarried men that live with unmarried women in their house??

Why are they not to be blamed.

If two adults are in a serious and committed relationship with each other, why cannot they live together.
Please Let us stop putting unnecessary blame on women.

If you do not like certain things that she does let her know.

Depression is a legitimate sickness. There is a chemical inbalance in his brain.

This is not how you talk to suicidal people. You listen to them. Let them air their grievances and then let them see hope.

Suicide is usually a product of hopelessness. The Op is hopeless. He does not see a light at the end of the tunnel. His feelings are valid.

I dont think anyone here is qualified to talk to op except a trained counselor. Unfortunately, there is Nigeria where mental illness are stigmatized.

All we have to do now is to show OP the light. Try to tell him that there is hope. Share positive stories, give relevant advice.

RomanceRe: How Do U Handle Ur Girlfrnd And Those Males They Claim Are Their Cousins by raayah(f): 5:26pm On Jul 25, 2015
Another fake Nairaland post to diss young Nigerian women.

Your see your girlfriend lying in bed provocatively with a man who claims he is her cousin. He wakes up, greets you and leaves.

Any man who is sincerely in love with a woman will be hurt and might even fight if he finds out his woman is sleeping with someone. This is true. No two ways about this.

If this man is truly her cousin, and it is a platonic relationship. You set boundaries and say , girlfriend, I am not comfortable with your relationship with your cousin. I will not tolerate you sleeping in the same bed with him, he cannot come to the house when i'm not home e.t.c

If she refuses , then break up with her.

Some Nairaland men are not mature enough to be in a relationship but yet they insulting posts against women
PoliticsRe: Obama Calls For Gay Rights In Africa by raayah(f): 5:18pm On Jul 25, 2015
This is a good thing.

I respect how Kenyatta and Obama addressed their different opinions in a respective and logical way.

Kenyatta said that gay-rights was socially unacceptable in Kenya and he cannot impose a law that people cannot accept.

This is how civil discussions are done. I hope nairalanders can learn from it. We should stop insulting and threatening people who share a different opinion than ours.

FamilyRe: Is It Wrong For Parents To Flog Their Grown Up Kids In The University? by raayah(f): 6:04pm On Jul 24, 2015
It is wrong to flog anybody including kids and adults.

Its even worse for kids because their skin is softer and they have lower tolerance for pain.

Flogging hurts a lot and it causes more harm than good. Physical injuries is very common with flogging.

I think its also hypocritical that we Nigerians flog our children for normal mistakes but cry foul when police/soldiers flog us.

You dont want to be flogged but you want to flog other people.

We need access to student loans in this country. Most student loans abroad cover tuition, housing and feeding.

It sucks that people who want to succeed in Nigeria are hit with many obstacles.

Op , I empathize with you.
RomanceRe: What Should My Uncle Do In This Scenerio by raayah(f): 5:47pm On Jul 23, 2015
emmyrichie:
smiley smiley Hehehehehe... ladies? I wasn't shocked when I read the part where she started showing signs of being interested.

Your uncle should not have anything to do with the olosho lady as she will also leave him for another richer man once the opportunity present itself.

She's not worth it. And for the guy, I hope he discovers early and quit the hoe of a girl.
.

In this case, I have to blame the oga. It may even be that the guy might be encouraging the girl to date the boss because of his job.

When people are in a higher position of power over you and your livelihood depends on them, its very hard to say no. This is why some employees sleep with their boss.
Op said the man got her number secretly (not from the girl)

She knows that if she refuses his advances, she may be sent out along with her intended husband without anything. Its even scarier seeing that shes in a new state, away from her comfort zone. Its a big risk.

We tend to blame girls on Nairaland but in this one. I'm blaming the man.
His first step is to sack the man just to emphasize the power struggle.
He also sleeps with olosho's.
Olosho's are desperate girls who need someone to spend money on them. It shows that he likes being in power and he is a domineering man.
FamilyRe: Married But Can’t Work In Same Organisation by raayah(f): 5:30pm On Jul 23, 2015
TooNoisy:
If you know the policy already exists in the organisation where your spouse works, why should you then apply to that same organisation. I can understand if you met in that organisation, got married and someone has to resign, but if I know my moving to an organisation will cost my spouse his/her job, then I would just stay where I am or look elsewhere.

We can both be happy working and not have to choose whose career should end.

And for those that met in an organisation and then got married, I know they should have discussed who would resign loooong before marriage, so it should not be a problem.
.

Exactly..

I think he should be honest with the PA. Tell the PA of the relationship and see his reaction first.
