From the look of the rashes, it looks like baby acne. My 6 week old has/had it on his face, back and shoulders and his pediatrician initially said it was heat rash. I stopped wearing too many clothes for him and it persisted and that was she we discovered it was baby acne. Leave it alone, it will clear on its on in a few weeks or months. Mine is already almost gone. Adding ointments might aggravate it as it did with my first child.

As per the white flaky substance on the head like dandruff, I would guess and say it’s cradle cap. My first also had it. I tried so many things and what eventually cured it was bathing him with agbo. No kidding. But you can also try some anti cradle cap shampo like Selsun blue, Mustela or the likes. You can also use olive oil to saturate the scalp and tru combing it out gently. Pele.

Aww poor child! Please let her skin breathe!! And stop all products. Looks like baby acne which clears on its own after a while. Avoid using hot water and excess clothing too! The heat these days is terrible.

Thanks mama. Was told same when she had dem at one week. But keeps clearing n coming back. Each time more than the previous. Plus i heard the doc mention to her colleague (when i showed her the white patch) "this is what yorubas call eela" she didn't know i understood yoruba...that's y i got concerned.

wow, the rash is much ooo. I used baby tribotan on my DD and her own is clearing we are just 3 weeks

Some clear on her forehead then reappears again. I'll continue tribotan for now

Confirm the quality of the coconut oil you're using. What soap do you use for her?

Mil brought the coconut oil n i think its good. I use dove soap for her as recommended by the hospital. They said it's mild for babies. The white patch is only on her cheeks.

Stop the ori and watch her for now. Ori might be too heavy in this heat.

If you are using ori(shea butter) for her face. Stop it for now because we have been experiencing too much heat recently.
Its not compulsory to rub their face with oil/cream.

When you stop the ori, observe again, if the rashes persist even with administering tribotan then her bathing soap may be the culprit.

Pele mama, I had the same issue last week and mamas here advised tribotan which I started using since Sunday, as at today it has peeled off and I keep seeing improvement. I know how worrying it can be but have patience and keep using the tribotan, also practice good hygiene, take it easy on the fan too, it will clear off.

This looks like heat. Please make sure ur baby's room is well ventilated. I will advise you continue with baby tribotan, you should see improvement in 3 days. Your baby is too small to try other things.


When your baby gets to 6months, I'd recommend authentic herbal cream for heat rashes or nappy rash. It is N100 and effective. There are 2 types, but the more effective type is the one with a lady's face and not the one with a boys face. It is made of aloe vera and some other soothing oil. Rising powder is also good.

Thanks ma'am. Her room is well ventilated. I even use a rechargeable fan for her if there's no light. What's d name of d herbal cream and where is it sold.

Just used tribotan for 4days tho but it's having no effect on d white patch. It's just on her face n behind her ears. I use ori for her

Good morning mamas. Please come to my aid. See pix of rashes on baby's face. She's 5weeks plus. Her head also have the dry scaly thing like dandruff. Been using cocnut oil n combing that. But I'm very concerned abt the face especially the whiter part that keeps spreading. Started baby tribotan on doc prescription but it's not changing the whiter part.

Sure sis. Everyone there was at their best. My doc was a father figure n he showed so much interest in his patient's well-being. Sometimes i think they're over thorough sef.

I saw this in one of your posts {We are back from the hospital, doctor prescribe amocilline, flagyl and ORS for him. But one nurse call me and advise me to buy akapojedi for him which 1 did and since morning that he poo before we let home he has not poo again. The nurse said since his weight is not reducing that he is ok my bb weight 8.4 at for month}.

Did the doc demand for any test before prescribing the drugs. And how can one lay hand on this Akapojedi or its equivalent

please dont mind my too much question reason is my mum had 3 operation and i can remember how she was delayed so much for the first operation how we had to support her with walking for days, thou the 3rd one with our last born was quite better but it took a while for her to walk straight

Mama... let's just thank God for plenty plenty technology. Everything about CS now is better. The pain management, the recovery, and even d scar. After CS, i had an epidural for post operation pain (for 48hours)that by the next morning i could walk so swiftly that nurses had to remind me to take it easy. For my whole childbirth experience (as per ELCS)i didnt experience any pain. I mean any pain. Things keep getting better. I don't believe our strength is measured by amount of pain we can bear.

thanks cappo for checking on us. hope baby is doing fine? my baby has decided to share a birthday with her grandfather, who am I to say no? we are 40 weeks plus now and I have been having light contractions since 9pm yesterday. I woke up by 6am and saw blood stains but up till now contraction is still 15 mins apart. please what can I do to speed up labor? honestly I am so tired...

Thank God for protection on our lives n dat of our families. Thank God for our little ones and husbands. Thank God for conception, safe pregnancy and deliveries.

We're thankfull for visiting some homes after several years of waiting. We are grateful.

Sorry i have not dropped my bs. My baby is still at neonatal unit. This is the most trying times of my life. Its so traumatic for me seeing my baby on oxygen. I promise to drop my bs as soon as we leave the hospital. Pls mamas continue to pray for us.
