brocab:I don't listen to strange teachings, I read the Bible holistically and listen to healthful teachings from the holy scriptures. Can you explain the following scriptures vizaviz your statements above. 24Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27For he “has put everything under his feet.” c Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. |
TheLoneCitizen:Its going great, the experience has been wonderful...Tomorrow we will wrap it up. Cheers man |
TheLoneCitizen:Now I got yah!....wink wink...just wanted to confirm. How is the zoom going. |
TheLoneCitizen:Hmmm...lolololol...did you just read the story of Pilate and Jesus recently |
golddare:You need to look at how villages where structured then, what challenges they faced and how it is addressed. The houses makes up the clan and the clan makes up the village. Each house head is a decision maker, these decisions are made in the respective associations and age group, there are age groups that makes war decisions, there those that prepare for war and fights the war. If the woman inherits the house, that house is effectively cut off, she can't join in the decision making, neither can she mobilize her sons for war, her children are not from that village, they might even be from the enemy's place. When the woman marries, he goes to his husband's place, the house will no longer count as a force in the clan. The house would collapse Most cultures in the world do not give women the right to inherit titles of their father or to be the head of their house. Many of the reasons might no longer be tenable, so necessary changes are acceptable to ease everyone's suffering. |
golddare:Possibly, but most times what you are expected to do to claim that right are not expensive, maybe just to buy the cloth to wrap the dead body. You would be expected to entertain people and of course your siblings are expected to contribute but they won't disinherit you because you can't entertain the guests. What if you are the only son, would they give your house to a kinsman because you don't have money. Like I said women can inherit the father's properties, there might be a few places where this is not the case. |
golddare:This is not true, if the first son performs the burial rites , then he can inherit hereditary titles and the house where the father lived and died. If the man has no sons, then the eldest daughter inherits the house but not the title. The title goes to the next of kin of the man. Any other property would be shared amongst the children both male and female. Any child born out of wedlock who is not known in the household i.e whose mother did not cook for the man in the house is disinherited, but if the son is brought into the house and the man affirms that he is his son, then he can get inheritance. You can also not disown a known son without performing some rites. |
brocab:Jesus needing to receive his authority from God and then later submitting that authority back after using it to accomplish all God wanted shows clearly we are talking of two divine beings, a father and a very loyal and obedient regent...not the same person. |
brocab:That is a blatant lie...Russel never said and neither did any JW say that Jesus is not the Son of God....what Jesus declared himself the son of God...what he did not do was to say he himself is God the Almighty. Michael the archangel and Jesus are one and the same Son of God...if you dont think Michael is Jesus..fine..but dont use say we ever taught that Jesus is not the Son of God or that he is not divine. 1808: "and the Word was a god" – Thomas Belsham The New Testament, in an Improved Version, Upon the Basis of Archbishop Newcome’s New Translation: With a Corrected Text, London. 1822: "and the Word was a god" – The New Testament in Greek and English (A. Kneeland, 1822.) 1829: "and the Word was a god" – The Monotessaron; or, The Gospel History According to the Four Evangelists (J. S. Thompson, 1829) 1863: "and the Word was a god" – A Literal Translation of the New Testament (Herman Heinfetter [Pseudonym of Frederick Parker], 1863) John L. McKenzie (Catholic Biblical scholar) wrote that ho Theos is God the Father, and adds that John 1:1 should be translated "the word was with the God [=the Father], and the word was a divine being."[43][44] B. F. Westcott is quoted by C. F. D. Moule (Lady Margaret's Professor of Divinity in the University of Cambridge): The predicate (God) stands emphatically first, as in 4:24. ‘It is necessarily without the article (theós not ho theós) inasmuch as it describes the nature of the Word and does not identify His Person Philip B. Harner (Professor Emeritus of Religion at Heidelberg College) says: Perhaps the clause could be translated, ‘the Word had the same nature as God.” This would be one way of representing John’s thought, which is, as I understand it, that ho logos, no less than ho theos, had the nature of theos.[47] |

effectz123:Why dont you give your own scriptural backings? |
brocab:None of us read our Bible?..I have read the Bible cover to cover...verse 1 to the end and not just me millions of JWs,...it is one of our first spiritual goals. What you don't know is that we have printed and distributed tens of millions of KJV to people |
brocab:Our bibles are free, the number of our magazines in circulation and the readership shows millions all over the world appreciate them, with books like 'my book of Bible stories' 'young people ask' ' the secret of family happiness' and the awake magazine. These are well-known books cherished by jws and non-jws worldwide. Our books give the divine hope of the future from the Bible and millions have turned their lives around to benefit from this hope. |
When you are talking about black in terms of light or physics, then blackness is the absence of light, this is just a phenomenon. Black colour itself is real In chemistry there is black pigmentation, if you mix some colours together you get black, and when you mix black with yellow or red, you get a different colour entirely, so is it the absence of light that changed the colours. Black is a colour in it's own right, so the entire premise of his teaching is hogwash. |
ajl:Words and names do not determine who you are... Your Actions determines what becomes of you...not some random label someone gives you. Some people were named due to circumstances of their birth (isaac, benjamin etc), this does not necessarily define how their lives would be. Some others had their names changed to commemorate some epochal events in their lives like abram...to abraham...or Isaac to Israel....Abraham was blessed when he was Abram not when he was Abraham....and Isaac wrestled with the angel as Isaac not as Israel. It was not the old name nor the new name that made them what they were. So this pseudo-Christianity teaching of oyakhilome has no basis in the Bible. In the Bible there were people that were named black...Noah's grandson was named cush and cush means black, one of Abraham's grandson was named Ephah which means black. The shulamite girl that was wooed by King Solomon in the songs of Solomon, said she is black and beautiful. Calling someone or group of people by using a descriptive feature has been a trait of humans from the first man. |
brocab:Don't transfer your needs on others. We are very well taken care of spiritually and it is attestable by all impartial observers. Our literature's and books are available online without charge in over 500 languages, pls do tell me which other cult exposes themselves like that. |
ChrisKels:It is not a case of bad behaviour been associated with race, even though he was harsh and never forgave the poor boy...maybe he had so much high hopes for the guy and success fall en hand heavily. If you are a foreigner, you won't be given the same liberty like a native, so you have to be extra good and extra careful, if you don't, you will fall into their hands. My son can misbehave in my house and he would be punished but he would still remain my son( except when the thing don pass be careful) but if a stranger should come an misbehave in my house he may not not get a second chance,.. |
Subzero047:It's called progress..lol |
forgiveness:Nigerians and experience experience..the thing vex me many many years ago. |
komekn:Nice, any language I learn I want to speak it like a native, that's just me trying to Excel at what I do. And why should I keep repeating myself to people because of my accent when I can easily say it in a way they understand me one time |
SIONKPO1:When the Israelites married people from other nations, their children could not speak the Hebrew tongue and could not worship God in the right way. Nehemiah asked them to send their unbelieving wives and children away...the families were totally broken up...do you know the amount of hurt and hardship that would cause? It was a hard decision but for true worship to be preserved, Nehemiah had to enforce it |
SIONKPO1:Very wrong example...lololol..he is even a perfect example for not marrying someone who don't share your beliefs |
SIONKPO1:We actually have no intention of correcting CAN...it's a voluntary organisation. Our aim is to preach to individuals of all beliefs and creeds. |
SIONKPO1:No the issue most people have with us is that we come to their house and tell them things that are totally different from what their parents and pastors have been telling them for decades. In fact we are told to consider others to be superior to us. Philipians 2:3 Do nothing out of contentiousness+ or out of egotism,+ but with humility* consider others superior to you,+ 4 as you look out not only for your own interests,+ but also for the interests of others. Am sure many pastors don't teach people this, because they all want people to feel they are super and better and greater than the greatest. We believe we are sinners and have to make sure we endure to the end to be saved, many pastors teach that they are not sinners and are already saved. Many things many pastors condemn as sin such as alcohol, trousers for women, using jewelry etc, we don't condemn, so how is it that we are the ones with a holier than thou attitude? |
Goel:I don't dispute this, and am actually quite familiar with the history of India both modern and recent, from timur the Mongol to Akbar the great and to the last mughal emperor and the princely states plus all the issues with Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. So I know what religious differences and intolerance has caused. So we were also very discreet in doing it and not rubbing it in people faces, if you know the way we do preaching in other countries compared to the way it is done in India, you would know it is done discreetly, but am not saying people are not aware, am saying we respect their sensitivity and adjust to it |
Maximus69:Wow..so you were with DMI....hmmm you people have done things in this country..things you cant say out. They definitely cant harass you, you are a fish bone they cant attempt to swallow..dem go just leave you, make dem no come bite more than they can chew. So what changes did you have to make and which ones were quite hard to make...if you dont mind |
Maximus69:Bros wetin convince you to change and how did your family react... Some muslims that became JWs faced so much persecution, My friend's father was one from osogbo...the man see something when he became a JW. |
SIONKPO1:Everybody condemns every other person's doctrines. Pentecostals condemn catholic doctrines..The protestant movement and reformation that led to existence of pentecostal churches was as a result of condemnation of the catholic teachings and the pope, it even led to civil war. The other christians believe JW turn Bible upside down..you have seen some posters here too repeatedly calling us names and dogs and that we are from satan the devil etc...I have seen fliers distributed by churches where they depict hell fire...and they show JWs burning in hell. So it is what it is, as long as there is a difference in beliefs...it is bound to happen. I went for studies in India, and we preached to Hindus discreetly because if you are caught you can be jailed, openly preaching is not allowed because it can lead to religious riots. But we still have to preach the word one way or another despite threats. |
achorladey:Everybody believes they have an accurate knowledge of the truth so its not just the witnesses, the catholics, the deeper life, the celestial...the latter rain assembly and the muslims...which of them believes they dont have the truth? So just like everyone else we believe we have an accurate knowledge of the truth. The Ethiopian Eunuch was just an example amongst others i gave...dont see why he is becoming the subject of discussion. Can you do wolimo with the muslim without learning the quran under an alfa..can you be baptized by the catholic even as an infant without your parents being a catholic...can the baptist church baptized anyone that has not been taught and vetted by them? |
SIONKPO1:I can personally give you a muslim i preached to and eventually became a witness...i know scores of muslims that have become witnesses. And we are also after those who have idea of the word..because just the idea of the word is not enough...you need an accurate knowledge of the truth, but a lot of Christians would rather just have an idea and be content when God wants us to have more than idea...the ethiopian eunuch had an idea but it was not enough...Phillip preached to him..Apollos had an idea ( He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained the Way of God to him more accurately.).. was helped to get a full grasp... So we will keep seeking those who have just an idea of the word. |
slam7000:O boy...superfly sandoka. There was one group we tagged the 3 brothers...dont even know their names again...i loved the ultimate warrior..there was a guy too called kabuki, that sprays stuff I to people's face and also Ariba. We used to sing oloro ni Igor ta lo ni kowa ja.....Igor is a pain dispenser, how dare you come and fight |
rottennaija:Well you are the one 'gloating' it here now...the same sentiment has been expressed a thousand times by pastors and parishioners alike that many churches wants to open because of tithes...why don't you pick on that....it is the one on JW broadcasting you want to air here In the same broadcast, it was said that we would be more cautious than the government even if govt reopens business, we were asked to weigh reopening our business and making money should not be the priority but lives, even our fellowship was also affected, we are avoid visiting one another or be very careful when visiting one another, and must do so with masks, and provide cleaning agents for any visitor...all these other instructions in what way does it involve gloating...we definitely value our lives and would take all reasonable precautions..if it is gloating to you..so be it. |
