ThoniaSlim: Please house help me answer o. So I just changed my transmission on a Honda Civic. They brought the car today.
The transmission is perfect but I hear a funny sound from the engine and when I took it for a test drive and put the AC it looked like the engine was lagging.
My mechanic is saying the reason is because my transmission is new and the sensors need time to adapt (Whatever that means). He said I should give it a week and give a report next week. Alternatively he saying I might need to change the engine over time (No money ooo).
Please what do you guys think? Take it elsewhere. There is no "adaptation". They messed something up |

franksam2009: I think you guys should stop forcing people to buy parts and fluids that are sometimes not needed, nd customers should have access to see what is being done to their cars,. I'm quite confused as to how we are forcing people. WE DON'T START WORK WITHOUT A SIGNED AUTHORIZATION ON A DETAILED ESTIMATE and people are free to bring their own parts and fluids. Anything we recommend is just that-a recommendation. Customers are free to make their own choices. As for access, the workshop has GLASS WALLS so you can see everything being done to your car. You can even watch from the restaurant so I suspect you are mixing us up with someone else. By any chance did you bring the vehicle in the thread below to us and not like our recommendation? You seemed pretty determined to remove the thermostat against advice. https://www.nairaland.com/2653841/uber-partner-lagos-please-share/1432#76886350 |

GCFR696: Hello Motor Guru I want to buy a tokunbo engine for my 2005 accord v6 1. Please what should I look out for in order not to buy a rebuilt engone 2. The recommended oil is 5w20, can I continue using the recommended oil not minding the fact that the engine must have recorded high mileage? 3. If Q2 is no, which viscosity of oil would you recommend?
Warm regards Why not rebuild yours? |

Beke2020: Hello house, I use a Honda 2005 model. For two months now my car started surging. I took it to my mechanic and he scanned it and changed something but the surging persist. I went back and he said it was the gearbox. I contacted another mechanic, that one worked on it but no change.i took it to a third mechanic. He said I should change the fuel pump. But still no improvement. Rather, in the process my kickstarter got bad and top gasket. Had to replace both. Met with a fourth mechanic now just last week. He changed the two gear censor N12k each and the fuel pump again, but the surging continues, the following day as I pick My car from him my alternator got bad. Truly I dont know what to do. A new mechanic just change the alternator. But I observed the D for drive on the dashboard is beeping, though surging still persist.
Pls what should I do? Do I change the gearbox? Almost all the mechanic said my gearbox is okay.
I need your advise Bring it to our shop for a PROPER diagnosis. These guys are screwing with you. Show them this post from me to get you a free diagnosis. |

HRtechnique: Just a suggestion. Could be four things:
1. Rim out of shape. 2. Tyre out of shape. 3. Bad suspension. 4. Bad tie rods.
I also learnt brake calipher (if it's not properly returning) could cause it.
To do:
1. Change the rods - cheap to do. 2. Buy two iron rims for front wheels - cheap to do. 3. Buy two front tyres - cheap to do. 4. Put the best two rims of your current rims to the back. 5. Put the best two tyres of your current tyres to the back.
Hopefully, this resolves it. Or bring it to us and get it right once |

NanaF: Alright. I got a different information from the person at the front desk. He said it’s one time only.
One more question pls, is the part cost included in what’s called major repair or that only for the labour cost. If it is, and the part is unavailable now, can I order it now and enjoy the discount. Thanks. I make exceptions for Nairalanders so yes |

Anduku: All these argument of yours is laughable. Do you know that if we go back in history, almost all countries on earth migrated to their present locations at one time or another and in most cases, they dislodged or dominated the original inhabitants thereof? So what are you suggesting? That everyone trace where they originated from and go back there? Or that citizens should have no rights to land if their earliest ancestors were not originally from their present countries? What a joke. America is for all Americans irrespective of when they arrived historically and the government of the US(The government of all Americans) has a constitutional right to use American land for the good of Americans and to protect the country for all Americans You obviously missed my point. Go back and read all my posts then you'll get it SMH |

Beautyaddy: Yeah Right!
They are now trying to reclaim a land that they didn't colonize.
Those people coming to the defense of the Spanish and Indians...why are they living on a colonized land by the Europeans(Whites)…why didnt they choose to go live in those predominately Spanish and Indian countries? Scenario. You own land and/or a home in Nigeria. I come along, squat, renovate it and live there. Then one day you decide you want your land and I order you to get off the property it's mine now. Do you a) accept that because I improved the land and go find land elsewhere or b) claim your right to it. |
