US border control release photo of man sewn into car seat

Photos have been released of a Mexican man who disguised himself as a car seat in order to cross over the American border undetected.

Back in June 2001, Enrique Aguilar Canchola was found sewn into the passenger seat of a car that was attempting to enter the US.

Canchola was stopped at San Ysidro, a Californian border crossing which at the time was one of the busiest border crossings.

As one of the busiest crossings, border guards are used to seeing immigrants attempting new ways to enter the country.

At the time, it was part of a growing number of immigrants burying themselves into vehicle compartments in order to avoid detection. However, not many had attempted such a daring move as that used by Canchola.

U.S Customs and Border Control have been sharing images of bizarre finds that they have made in order to combat further attempts.

Border control have found other strange examples of smuggling along the border lines. A woman was arrested in 2009 when officers found a nine-pound stash of marijuana located in her daughter's pushchair. The smuggling of drugs has been attempting by locating them in lawn mowers, within concrete furniture and even taped to the back of someone trying to make the crossing.

Immigrants have been found in the engine compartment of a car, in the side panel of a car's door and even in cavities cut into the floor of a car making the crossing.

Border guards scan suspect vehicles thoroughly, sometimes finding drugs embedded into mechanical parts of the car, such as the differential.

Her Majesty The Queen is set to become the first person to receive Bentley's new £160,000 Bentayga 4x4.

According to reports, Queen Elizabeth was impressed by Bentley's new off-roader after testing it around the Aberdeenshire grounds of her Balmoral estate a few weeks ago.

Bentley President Michael Winkler told news channel Bloomberg that the Queen had "decided to test drive it a few weeks ago – of the prototypes – and she will now use it for her hunting expeditions."

The Bentayga, which is Bentley's first off-road vehicle, features a six-litre twin turbocharged engine able to power the car to a top speed of 187mph.



Bentley CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer told the Daily Mail: "We have reserved the number one car for her."

Bentley holds a British Royal Warrant, and has previously supplied Her Majesty with cars for her fleet. These include a Bentley State Limousine for her Golden Jubilee in 2002 and a Mulsanne luxury saloon.

The choice of a new car may come in the wake of Land Rover's decision to cease production of the Queen's usual choice of vehicle – the Defender.

A spokesperson for Bentley told the Daily Mail: "Bentley Motors has a long standing relationship with the Royal Family, and is proud to be Warrant Holders to both HM The Queen and HRH The Prince of Wales.

"As part of this relationship, we try to inform The Royal Household of product developments before they are made public, and had the pleasure of presentling Bentley Bentaya in advance of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show."
