Grafixnuel: Sir, how do I start?
START BY KNOWING WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE, WHAT CAREER YOU WANT, WHAT SCHOOLS CAN YOU STUDY THE COURSE OF INTEREST TO YOU.
My parents wants to sponsor it. (THANK GOD FOR THEIR LIVES. MAY GOD BLESS THEM) And they said I should go for a cheap University. (WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF A CHEAP UNIVERSITY?)
How do I apply? (ASK GOOGLE)
What do I need? (CHECK THE WEBSITE OF THE SCHOOL OF INTEREST TO YOU) I av relations staying there (GOOD FOR YOU, AND FOR THEM) what role should they play. (THEY WILL PLAY THE KIND OF ROLE THEY HAVE BEEN PLAYING IN YOUR LIFE EVEN BEFORE YOU DECIDED TO WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL IN THE UK). Thanks (THANK YOU TOO) ) By the way: ARE YOU PLANNING TO GO TO THE UK FOR AN UNDERGRADUATE OR POSTGRADUATE COURSE? |
Kindly help a life. How much is a student is probably going to spend on accommodation? (VISIT THE SCHOOL WEBSITE)
Yeah about the challenges am facing, i used to think UK admission and visa is very simple and easy up till now. (IT IS VERY EASY. YOU ONLY NEED TO DO THE NEEDFUL) I have gained admission to pursue Msc in Bioscience, NTU Jan 2018 entry and that's all i have for now, i need to pay tuition deposit and as well provide Waec result (to certify English) to get my CAS number. While i was reading the finance, i see it that money for tuition and others needs to kept in student account or parents acct atleast 28 days before applying for Visa, (ABSOLUTELY CORRECT) what can i do about this as my sponsor is an uncle and like a guardian? (TELL YOUR UNCLE SPONSOR TO TRANSFER ALL THE REQUIRED MONEY INTO YOUR ACCOUNT) How can I get cleared in this area? (READ EARLIER POSTS ON THIS THREAD, THE ANSWER IS THERE) Who is someone legal sponsor? (IT IS SOMEONE WHO HAS ADOPTED YOU, LEGAL ADOPTION) I see there that a legal sponsor can sponsor me. (DO YOU HAVE A LEGAL SPONSOR?)
Secondly, is the Credit in Waec as demanded by NTU enough to apply for visa or i have to write IELTS UKVI? (DIRECT THIS QUESTION TO THE ADMISSION DESK OF YOUR SCHOOL)
How many week does UK visa takes once i submit application? (CHECK THE UKVI WEBSITE. THEY HAVE THE APPROXIMATE TIMELINES) Is Jan 2018 realisable for me at all? (THE DEGREE OF YOUR READINESS IS YOUR CALL TO MAKE) Also can anyone suggest other admission entry asides Sept 2018 (UK ADMISSIONS ARE ONLY JANUARY OR SEPTEMBER INTAKE)) and institution? (ASK GOOGLE)
Please help a life (YOU TOO NEED TO HELP US BY DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH BY YOURSELF). Thanks in anticipation
Kindly help a life. How much is a student is probably going to spend on accommodation? (HOW MUCH DO YOU RECKON YOU WILL REQUIRE? WHAT KIND OF ACCOMODATION DO YOU NEED?)
In conclusion, Just as @Justwise noted. You seem too agitated and not really ready for study in the UK. |

Chicksslayer : Sorry for not making it clear enough for you...I did my undergraduate degree in the uk from department of mechanical engineering, having done with nysc now. So my uncle is a member house of reps and happened to get a nigerian government scholarship slot. He just said I should get an admission in a petroleum related course. Thanks THIS COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA IS A SERIOUS JOKE. GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE SHARED ON THE BASIS OF NEPOTISM AND MAN-KNOW-MAN.
Imagine someone who: 1. Did not even initially plan for any Petroleum-related career. 2. Does not even have admission yet.
He is sitting down his thing jejely....his House of Reps Uncle simply called him to ask him to "manufacture" admisiion anyhow in ANY petroleum related field. So Nairalanders, no matter how brilliant you are, or how passionate you are, the criteria for benefitting from Government Scholarship is to have an Uncle in the House of reps, or in the Senate.

Deuteronomy 21:18
18 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” 21 Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid. |

LaaJiblik: Six universities told to change advertising claims https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/education-41984465
Complaints were upheld against six universities:
1. Falmouth University has been told to stop describing itself as "the UK's number one arts university" or "the UK's number one creative university".
2. Teesside University had a complaint upheld for saying it was the "Top university in England for long-term graduate prospects".
3. University of East Anglia has been told not to use the claim "Top 5 for student satisfaction".
4. University of Leicester must stop claiming to be "a top 1% world university".
5. University of Strathclyde has been told to change the claim "We're ranked No. 1 in the UK" for physics.
6. University of West London must stop claiming to be "London's top modern university - and one of the top 10 in the UK". THANKS for posting this. I have always wondered how come all the universities claim to be number 1 |

THE BESTEST SOLUTION IS TO ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MUCH ABOVE THE MINIMUM AMOUNT IN YOUR ACCOUNT. AT LEAST, HAVE 2% ABOVE THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE FEES. THANK YOU justwise:
I do not believe that, not even a single person since 2009? They all had a meeting and decided to keep quiet? Your case is the first and you shouldn't use it to generalize.
I still maintain that one can not keep on topping up maintenance money each time exchange rate goes up. |

Eventhough this thread is for Tier-4 PBS, I have thought to offer my 1 Shilling Advice, especially since we are meant to help ourselves... tozdi1990: I was refused a Uk Visa last Year December in the refusal letter to visit my wife
I have noticed you both are married but theres no evidence to prove your conversation either after or before marriage .. What kind of evidence did you use last time? And what kind will you use now if you re-apply?
you submitted a bank statement which was rescently loaded with a large sum of money before you applying That is a signal to them that you were trying to trick them into believing you. Have you corrected that now?
Pleasw that statement was my uncle statement to support me because i didnr have a bank statement at then
Submission of Bank statements is key. Any reason why you did not have a bank statement?
They said i have no strong ties in my own country Strong ties is usually WORK, CAREER, BUSINESS and INVESTMENTS. Did you show evidence of having these?
I want to apply again can i have someone different support me or i still have to you that same uncles statement and explain why it had that large amount the other time i was refused By "Support" you mean someone to deposit large amount in an account, for you to trick them again? e no go work.
Is it compulsory to use that same statement and explain It is compulsory to do the right thing What steps should i take when reapplying please
Simple answer: Do the right thing. Have a GENUINE reason for the visit. Make sure you address ALL the lapses in the former application. They need to be sure that you have STRONG ties to your country. They need to be convincd that you have very STRONG reasons to return back to your country after the visit. Convince them. My Brother, if you do the exact same thing, you will get exactly the same outcome. |

bennyjiks: Im getting ready for my visa application this week.
Im concerned that i dont have my original degree transcript. But i have my original degree certificate.
Its scanned copy i sent to the school. Are trsnscripts necessary if u have your degree cert? Who has applied without it plz The Short answer is: NO. Transcripts are NOT neccessary. What is important is that your HEI had evaluated you, found you suitable and issued you an UNCONDITIONAL admission, and a CAS. |

benugo: Hello Colleagues, I was recently offered a Global Challenges PhD scholarship (CONGRATULATIONS MATE) in Civil Engineering at University of Birmingham (full tuition fee waved, monthly maintenance grant + bench allowance provided). However no mention of accommodation in the offer. : MONTHLY MAINTENANCE GRANT SHOULD COVER ACCOMODATION.
Offer was accepted yesterday; registration ends 31 July while programme commences September this year (barely 2 months from now).
What are my chances of beating this deadline (VISA, documentation, etc)? Can above info. be scrutinized please, I sincerely have no travel experience whatsoever. (YOU CAN DEFINITELY MAKE IT IF YOU HAVE ALL THE REQUIRED ITEMS: AWARD LETTER CLEARLY SPELLED OUT, TB TEST, ADMISION LETTER, CAS.

"When" i get the visa, what is the most effective and money-saving means of funds transfer to and from UK since i have heard Western union is a rip off?bros, dont jump the gun. Get the visa FIRST. Na school u trulyv wan go so?? poshhh: Hello good people!
Fantastic job here guys!
Kindly help with these questions.
I have received 2 refusals in the past (UK visit visa 2015), (Canada study visa 2016) consequent to profound lack of diligence, but seek to apply for a UK tier 4 visa of which i have concluded my 28 days and completed but not submitted my visa application.
1) Will this history affect the consideration of my current application? I have surplus funds in the account (outstanding tuition/maintainance and small change).
2) "When" i get the visa, what is the most effective and money-saving means of funds transfer to and from UK since i have heard Western union is a rip off?

Hello House. Has anyone submitted documents for UK Tier 4 Visa recently? Is there a delay or my own case is different? I applied for Tier 4 Dependant Visa to enable me join my Wife who is currently doing her PhD in Leeds.
I submitted at Abuja TLS. Date Submitted: Wednesday, 24th May> TLS Website Confirmation: Application Submitted (24th May) Transferred for Decision: 25th May. Received by UKVI: 25th May
I was happy that everything seem to be moving at good speed. On 6th June, I received the email below: Your online application has been received in Sheffield, UK. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.
Since then, NO communication at All. I am getting worried, really.
Or Could anyone kindly confim for me if there is a General Delay?
Thank you forumites. |
