barakah: Please house, can you assist with answers to the following question from a Nairalander who intends to take a decision on UK travel.
If by chance, a Nigerian male between the ages 35 to 45 years and having met all requirements for a UK visa for an initial 6 months arrives the UK.
The mission is to earn a steady forex income for the period that the visa lasts and probably start something tangible for the folks back home. Hustle in obodo oyinbo is better than the rat race in Naija.
What type of opportunities are open to him since trying for a degree is out of it with the cost involved? No work permit for 6 months visa and it will be odd to just sit in doors and not earn a living for an entire 180 day. Work experience is regular hustle, office/admin work and every other legit thing that brings money to the table.
Please assist with information on other likely issues to be encountered See the bolded bits? They don’t go hand in hand. You can’t apply for a VISITOR visa, go to the UK, and get any LEGAL job. Sorry. If you want members on this thread to tell you the truth as it is.... Forget it! It’s illegal. |

zeektofundit: Boss @justwise I hail you. Been following silently before finally becoming serious with my Uk movement.
Little background info.. I’m 24, into tech (front end web dev), a graduate (but with a 3rd class) and I’m applying (through agency) for schools
Please my question is.. Is it feasible for me to differ studies after paying, studying for 1 year and apply to tech jobs. ( by then I would have stayed for a year so I feel It should be enough for me to know my way around and hopefully get a job)
This is my plan but from your experienced perceptive, I just want to know how possible it is and where I need to adjust for the best outcome.
Thank you for all the information you’ve shared so far ❤️ Differ [sic] studies.... as in drop out of school? Stayed for a Year.... on which visa? My brother, recalibrate this your K-legged plan |

Hebraeem: Hello Guys, please can someone confirm if a postgraduate student can work full time during this easter break? I have also asked the int. office at my school, no answer yet. I have perused the T4 Visa rules and regulations and I think one can do so outside the term time which is from 29th March to 16th April 2021.
I would still like to get your input to put all doubts to rest. Thank you. 1. Go to your school website ( probably on your student portal) 2. Check the ‘term dates’ as per your school calendar. 3. If the dates you want to work > 20 h/week are outside of your official school term dates, then you are good to go. I hope this helps. Any more questions? Ask. |

LagosismyHome: Dual citizens can even claim a bit to equal access but this is more of a case were the mother had sole custody of that child. The child never had a passport, never visited so using your example had no single relationship with the father.
The child was spoilt in the mother's house . The father wasn't part of the child's life at all so can the mother really ship that child who she has sole custody of The mother will not ‘ship’ the child. Remember, the UK did not ‘ship’ Shemima to Bangladesh. They only slammed the door shut. Any, and every mother will shut the door if their own child comes rushing at them with a machete, with a clear intention to kill. Out of fear for her own life, the mother will simply tell the daughter not to return to her (MOTHER’s) house. Going to the her father will be her option as it’s a choice available to her. |

LagosismyHome: Not to reignite this discussion
UK should not be allowed to bully others to take their stubborn children/ responsibility. . Why is UK allowed to disown but the relative is not allowed to disown too. If both disown , isnt that statelessness.
These two types of children ( relatives and no relatives ) should be treated the same way, as they are yours British Citizens
How will you deal with the issue if no relatives and address it that way. .with no discrimination or differentiation between the two types of children should be allowed ..... if you can't make one stateless then don't apply that punishment to any of your children ......then ok how else can you punish both type of child ........if UK is truly a fair and inclusive society that it wants to tell the world. Then walk the talk. It’s not about RELATIVES. It’s about father & mother who both have equal access. On this case, the child wanted not only to injure, but to kill the mother. The mother says you can’t return to my house. The child says I must return (possibly to kill you one day). The mother insists you can’t return here. The child says where can I go? The mother says, well you could go to your dad if you want. The child says, but I haven’t lived with him before. The mother says, yes he is your dad. As for me, I can’t have you in my home because you wanted to kill me, & you possibly will. Is the mother wrong? |

LagosismyHome: Let me ask you a question.... if you have a child who disgraced you.
Can you say I disown you however you now belong to my distant relative who you never met.... key word, never met don't know each other self however Since he is a relative, you are now his property and perhaps go and live there if you have no where to live ..... which relative go gree self. Why would Bangladesh agree to absorb pickin when them no train
That is the part I personally say no UK you should not be allowed to do that.
Why is your stubborn son now the relative responsibility. If you didn't train him well why can't you carry your cross quietly. Rehabilitate your child, punish your child when the child comes home, do whatever you can within the laws in your country...... As long as you remember he is British and forever your property. Dont be lazy and pass him to a relative that was minding his business and never even met your child . .....
UK you can't say if you have a distant relative ( immigrant children) then I pass you. For stubborn children who have no relatives ( then ok I won't pass them since I am not allowed to make them STATELESS).
Then it becomes the beginning of two types of children, the ones with relative and the ones without. What else can happen that UK will just strip again and send to relatives. A child is a child, there should never be two types of children . That is inequality . LagosIsMyHome: If the Bangladeshi Government were sharing money to their diaspora citizens, Shemima Begum would have been on that queue. Note that the UK govt did not DEPORT her to Bangladesh. The govt merely said she wanted to kill us, and our people. She is not welcome here. As it stands, she has two options: either activate her Bangladeshi citizenship, or get her ‘husband’s’ citizenship. It would have been a different ball game were she to have been rendered stateless, but that is not the case here. When it comes to dual nationality/citizenship, it’s not a case to be exemplified with relatives. In this case it’s a bit more like father & Mother of a child. The child has not been rendered orphan (to warrant going to relatives), in this case, it’s the divorced mother telling her daughter not to return, rather she can go to her father, as she has a father. Whether or not the errant daughter is in good terms with her father doesn’t matter- what matters is that she she has a father who is alive and it is her father. |

Dear Nigerian Immigrants who have British-born children,
Kindly train up your children to respect the core values of their British home. Train them to be like Anthony Joshua. Get newspaper clippings of the Shemima Begum Supreme Court ruling and show show your children. Tell the little ones that denouncing their British citizenship to go fight for a terrorist organisation ain’t cool.
Train your children to trust you. Train your minors to be so open to you- in that way, you will be able to detect very early any signs of grooming by terrorists. |

Turn the tables around. If ISIS had succeeded, and the UK became a shithole in 2014. And the streets of London was looking like Homs. And the Bangladeshi Govt arranges an evacuation flight for its people.

Endlessgrace: Hello fam. My niece is trying to apply for masters in public health and we are not sure of the relevance of this course to today’s UK labour market. Do we have anyone with public health background, works in related field or have relevant information about the practice here in UK as it relates to employability. [Strictly my opinion] Masters in Public Health (MPH) on its own without a fantastic experience in the field of public health is as useful as the letter ‘P’ in Psychology or Pneumonia. As vital as the letter ‘W’ in Greenwich or Norwich. First thing is, look through UK job sites. Including civil service jobs. Peruse their requirements. Hardly will you see a job advert that requires the applicant to hold an MPH. In my opinion [again, strictly my opinion], a good 1st degree, with RELEVANT experience is more vital than an MPH with little or no experience. If I may ask, in what field was your niece’s 1st degree? |
