fatima04: Now we have to move houses, unfortunately I tried all i could to get one through gumtree or openrent but no luck.
So we began searching while waiting for our visa approval and saw a property we really liked, bungalow with 3bed and 2 toilet for 650pcm, with EPC rating of C, but sadly the LL rejected us oo with one flimsy excuse of "he does not know our rental history from our country of origin", once the letting agent mentioned that, I felt it was because we are Nigerians he rejected us.
It was sad but we had to renew our search and luckily we got another one with B rating, though more expensive. So now my e-fam come help me oo, things to do while moving house. I have got a list but its all so overwhelming.
a. whats the best way to get van rentals prices? online are scary ooo. b. Does moving house affect credit score badly c. How soo can one gets deposit on old apartment... so many questions...
N.B:- for new renters, please try and get a house of C rating because we just discovered a huge saving between D and C, we pay an estimated cost £100 to £120 with SSE a month, my friend with a higher band of C pays £65/pcm and their house is soo warm. Though D is the most common but one should search before making a commitment. I still wonder how people with E and F survive. 3-Bedroom. £650!!!!!! Dear Lord, I need a job outside London and Cambridge. |

Aphrodite007: Injustice in the rawest forms! Man that was about to be attacked with knife has pled guilty for man slaughter.. like why? Is he the one that put the knife in her bag? See how her brother is opening mouth to say rubbish. It’s not their fault! My dear @Aphrodite: The guy is guilty ohhh No defend am abeg. He pleaded guilty for MANSLAUGHTER because he indeed is guilty. It may not be culpable homicide or Murder but it’s clearly a case of manslaughter. Pains me when I see Nigerians being linked to these vices. |

sutelk: Hello house, wake up, I want to share my testimony. So I signed my tenancy and got the keys to my house today. And shhh... don't tell anybody this one; I also locked myself outside my house on my first day in the house. It cost me £50 to get back in and everyone I told the story says I was lucky cost it could have cost as much as £300. The locksmith didn't change the locks sha, he just slid a thick cardboard in between the door slid it up and used the cardboard to push back the lock and collected my 50 quid and I was like why didn't I think of this? come and see me pricing, the guy even said £70 if I pay with card, he only collected £50 because I paid cash. Anyway, lesson learnt, so in case u lock yourself outside one day just holla me, I will collect just £48 as a fellow nairalander. Back to my testimony, so I've been in the UK 6 months now, came here really low on cash, as I had to apply for my visa twice following an error in my first Application. I remember posting my challenge here and someone advised me to contact churches if they could help, I made some calls and God connected me with this family who didn't know me from Adam, they accommodated and fed me for the past 6 months taking just a token. When I set out to look for a house about a month ago my budget was about £3000 for rent, deposit, and all those their charges. But I got my keys today spending just about £800 for rent and referencing for a 2 bedroom house in Cambridge, and man Cambridge is expensive. I was favored and got a key worker housing, paying just 80% of the actual rent and reference fee, no deposit and no other charges. You won't believe those referencing guys actually called my landlord in Naija, the guy first cut their call thinking they were yahoo yahoo. To summarize my testimony, I now have my keys, not moved in yet, those guys to reconnect the gas are doing slow motion, they can't give me time they want to come, they just want me to sit at home all day waiting for them, like I don't have work, don't have their time yet, I'm still enjoying the egusi soup I am eating in my present home, I know indomie days are approaching no need to rush. Somebody should collect offering. Please what part of Cambs is that? I have been looking for a 2 bed flat in Cambryand boy....is it expensive? |

Zoey1: Before casting a stone at someone, have a proper read. Did you SEE that the school operate in more than one campus? And they decided they are no longer issuing a CAS with the previous location. How is it his fault here, it happened to me with Coventry and I know how this works until I drilled them they didn't tell me the course was not going to be available at London Campus for 2018 and 2019 session. Yet I asked before applying. They offered Coventry Campus and I declined. Because it didn't happen to you does not mean He's not truthful. So when it happened to you, you asked the school to call your sponsor ? |

Control7: Good Morning All,
I need to seek advice from good people of Nairaland. A friend of mine was taken to UK some years back, all expenses paid by his Uncle, got a working permit. There was a misunderstanding between them, the Uncle seized his travelling document including Passport and was told to pay back all the money he used in bring him from Nigeria to UK (5 Million Naira) before he is going to release his document.
After my friend worked and payed, his Uncle just woke up one morning booked ticket to Nigeria for both of them saying they need to go home. As we speak my friend is back to Nigeria without anything and after paying the 5M, the uncle still didnt release his Travelling document.
Please I need advice, Can he apply for a replacement of both working permit and Passport, let's assume he was robbed and everything was taken away, though he has them snapped on his phone. This guy is already depressed. LIE LIE story |

STENON: Hmmm, I have been thinking on how best to explain to her but no way, I have arranged with London campus to call and inform her by the management Why do I have the this feeling something is fishy? You were (are) supposed to stay with your aunt. She is(was) supposed to accommodate you, and take care of your maintenance costs in London. My dear STENON: Let me advise you as a friend. There is no point coming on Nairaland to seek advice when you are not ready to be truthful to yourself. There is something you are hiding. |

Ayommeh2018: IHS cost N148,338 and the visa fee was N671,949 using my FCMB card This is not entirely correct. It can potentially mislead someone who hasn’t read your previous submissions. The Visa Application fee is less than the amount quoted. Note that Super-priority or Priority is a VALUE ADDED SERVICE which is not technically part of the visa application fee. |

Maiyakz: Hello House,
I need an urgent advice.
I have been studying in the Uk for almost a year now and was working to support myself (part time) through this period and in the process I exceeded my work term limit.
Recently, I got a permanent job in the UK that are willing to sponsor my work visa (Tier 2).
Would my exceeding Tier 4 visa affect my chances of getting Tier 2 visa and how do I remedy it?
Thanks for your honest response. Congratulations on your new job. What EXACTLY do you mean by ‘exceeded my work term limit’? You meant you worked for >20 hours per week during term time? Question is: Were you caught? Methinks you don’t have anything to fear |

I would spend 6 and more years in UK and you whatever you are will not stop it. If there is any idiocy here, I think it’s you. Me? Frustrated? You must be joking. Again, I will repeat. It doesn’t make any sense to be muddling things up and confusing folks on this platform. DES is NOT part of a T4 Visa. You have to understand you could be passing a wrong message to folks on this platform. DES is NOT a ‘given’ even if you are on whatever kind of scholarship. You should understand that anything you post on a public forum (especially on a thread like this) should serve to inform, not mix up T4 Visa issue and Doctoral Extension scheme, as though they are the same thing. |

jesmond3945: have you heard of esprc? Why do you think my programme would be the same as yours? And what do you know is doctoral extension if I may ask? Do you think I am on self sponsorship or working on an ongoing european wide project courtesy of my supervisor? Don't quote me again before i use the stress of my research to curse your generation. Your curse will end up on your own generation. Doctoral Extension Scheme is a completely different kettle of fish. Deep within you, you know that your “6 years + DES” Statement was misleading. The DES does NOT form part of your studies, and you know it. |

I wonder what you gain by blatantly lying. “6 years, plus Doctoral extension scheme” When did DES become part of a T4 Visa? You decided to muddle up things. You may have a noble objective, but on a forum like this, it can mid-inform and send a wrong message. |
