Tried renewing license online and it says - RN number doesn't match surname.
What can be done? Also, can this different name arrangement cause any issue with NMC UK? Thanks in advance press the back button of the browser, enter the other name beginning with G. if it still pops up the same message, then repeat, this time around using the other G repeat until you have tried all 3 names. |

dustydee: It's not about being ungrateful. Sometimes if you undersell yourself, it's very difficult to recover except you leave for another company. During my time, low paying graduate jobs in my industry were paying £26k while some were paying £40k. This was almost 10 years ago. I do not see anything wrong with the person raising an eyebrow about the pay. He/she was probably trying to gauge opinion on the salary. I thought my pay was okay since it was similar to my earnings in Nigeria but because I hadn't worked in the UK before, I didn't know much about the cost of living and taxation. KEY WORD: 'In My Industry' Do you have an idea what a Senior Lecturer in a University, with a PhD earns? Any ideas how much a Band 6/7 Nurse in the NHS earns? Those primary school teachers that teach your children (assuming the little ones attend state schools), do you have an idea of their pay? |

Thank you in anticipation. Don’t worry at all. Even if they speak not 1 single word of English language, they will be fine. The child will be placed in the same class where ALL 7year olds are. In the UK, I don’t think 7year olds are in primary 3...more like primary 2. |

HMRC has also implemented better system to match your earnings with NI and that info is accessible during visa renewal My dear, we are not talking LAGOS here. We are talking UK. No such thing as sponsorship for internship/placement by uni, as it's a part of you modules which you need to go and get experience from an organisation.

Efound3: Let ma tell u what its required of u to drive uber.
1) A good car at least £2000-£5000 2) u need to have FULL UK Driver license for ag least one year.
Ok- now, how can u get a full UK DRIVER license:
For you to Apply for a UK-FULL Driver license: *You need a UK- Provisional Driver License.
(Dont ever think u can drive Uber with your Nigeria-International Driver license, which u can use to drive for one year I UK starting from the day u enter UK)
* Meanwhile, UK Provisional Driver Licence is a LEARNER Licence which valid for around 25years. You can drive alone with it. u need someone with UK Full Driver license to drive with it according to the UK law.
* After u secured the PROVISIONAL DRIVER LICENSE u need to book a Driver test at: https://www.gov.uk/driving-test (it has been suspended due to COVID19)
* After u pass ur driving test then u can apply for a FULL UK Driver license. dont think uf u re a perfect driver in Nigeria that should give u boldness that will pass a UK Driver Test...Error!!! its advisable for u to book a driving training for at least 3 days or 5 days ag around £100 for u to know the Driver codes. remember it RIGHT HAND driving and their road is so small...
your question: It's not easy for students or their Dependent to drive an Uber in UK. it could takes u up to 1.5 years or more.
Meanwhile u can do Uber Food delivery (JUST EAT) with car ( with ur international Driver Licence) or Bike or bicycle. u can even get a car at £300-500 and start ur uber eat deliveries and make money like Uber/Taxi Driving.
as a foreign student and new driver car insurance can cost u around £150 per month. with either ur Professional Licence or International Driver license.
Home this helps everyone! Cheers UberEats. Tier-4 student. Delivery drivers who use personal cars for Über eats, Deliveroo are classified as Self-employed, No? The UK Supreme Court judgment concerned Uber Taxi services not Uber eats No? Tier-4 students are not allowed to be self-employed No? To use your personal car for delivery services you are required to declare this for insurance purposes, No? This translates to higher premium No? |

kode12: I don't think you understand the context of the question. I think that person is asking about the legalities involved. Prior to now, the government considered Uber drivers as being self employed hence a Tier 4 student could not work as an Uber driver. Now the Supreme has ruled Uber drivers be considered as employees, not self employed. Question is does this carry over into the immigration perspective as well? Personally i doubt the government can have double standards on the same matter but who knows. I understand the context of the question 100% And I chose to answer it that way because OP asked it in the context of a tier-4 student. |

Regards In this era of COVID-19 when jobs have dried up? Yea, you may be able to get a job. You can only work for 20 hours per week. If you get a job that pays £20 per hour, that is £400 per week. Take off 20% as tax and NI payments. Feeding, rent, utilities. Sounds great right? Problem is; Me sef I’m looking for a job that pays £20 per hour. Abeg if you help me see, holla at your boy. |

PtBlank: Hello guys,
Does this ruling against Uber mean students can now drive Uber since the drivers are to be considered employees rather than self employed?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56123668 The student must have a car. Have a licence. Have insurance. I guess a clean license for a couple of years is required. Will the student meet up the requirements? Uber ‘business’ is not to simply move a car. |

veegal: Hello everyone, please i need a clarification on this; hubby has been on Tier 2 work Visa(3 years) since 2019.We joined him as dependents recently. He got another offer with another Employer and he's applying for another visa. The new employer provided COS that will cover us as well. Do we need to apply for visas together with him? Are our BRPs still valid despite him applying for a new Visa? Please help!!
@justwise @Lexusgs430 @all the gurus You know the thing about making enquiries, and @‘ing some people? There may be others with the knowledge to help, but will not. Since your question is/wasn’t directed at them. Now to your question. Look at your BRP carefully, you will see that the end date was made to coincide exactly with the Main Applicant’s end date. If (God forbid) the sponsor had withdrawn their CoS, and the main applicant hasn’t got another job, it means both main applicant and dependants would have their BRPs curtailed. As a dependant, your Permit is dependant on the main applicant whose permit is dependant on the Sponsor. Short answer: Yes. You will ALL need to apply for new visas. |

EmmyKing86: This really does not make sense.
I received my provisional driving licence less than 2 weeks after application around mid-December 2020. My elder brother got his ILR application approved less than 2 months after applying also in mid-December 2020. I got my COS for tier-2 renewal sent to me following an application from my sponsor in less than 2 days.
Despite the huge restrictions and reduction of staff due to the implementation of social distancing rules here in the UK, essential services are still working effectively & efficiently through innovation. The system is adapting as the situation unfolds. Also, the times I called their phone line, I did not wait for more than 5 minutes.
However, the Nigerian High Commission is still closed with the back-log growing massively. No innovation to attend to customers. They cannot even answer their phones and respond to email messages. Now, I'm hearing one might need to pay extra to get an earlier date.
The basic can not even be accomplished. This is so so annoying. Who did this to us? We did this to ourselves. 1. We let tribal, ethnic and religious sentiments to becloud our judgment. 2. We vote in nincompoops into power as a result of (1) above. 3. We flatly refuse to be involved and engaged in policy making (by not participating in politics). Yes, we did this to ourselves. |
