CultureRe: Kinglist Of Yoruba Obas and their rankings by RamessesIV(m): 1:47pm On Sep 14, 2020
But benin nationalists who claim they share no history or ties with yorubas yet still group the oba of benin with other yoruba kingshuh This is the one that surprises me

Cause i know after ife lost it's power Oyo and Benin were the major powers in southern nigeria though they were in different regions

This is just a case of nationalistic clashes but trust nairalanders to argue blindly
TAO11:
Lol.

The immediate past Oba of Benin was the 38th King.

However, his successor the current Oba is the 40th. grin
.
.
.
They’re so drunk with confusion that they can’t agree till date on who their first Oba is.

The extant standard position is that Oranmiyan installed his son as the first Oba of Benin — this agrees with extant Yoruba account.

However, some fringe views among them (which the current Oba holds to) list Oranmiyan himself as the first Oba of Benin.

I guess the aim of this minority view is so that they can rank Omo n’Oba before Alaafin.

Remember Oranmiyan went to Benin before he became the first Alaafin.

So, the propaganda is to say that while he was in Benin he was coronated as Oba — by so doing, they will argue that Omo n’Oba ranks before Alaafin.

However, the reality is that while Oranmiyan was in Benin he wasn’t coronated as Oba and in fact endured some resistance from a party of their elders — this position is the extant Yoruba and Benin account.

So, while he was away as Alaafin at Oyo, his little child Eweka who will later became the first coronated Oba of Benin was still a baby.

I hope this is clear.

So what should rich men/women do to protect themselves from such unfair laws?
MrBrownJay1:
The man is worth 100s of millions of dollars, he can afford her to quit her job...

Wandaful!!!!! You tell your babe you want a prenup before marriage and she refuses to sign one.... And instead of dropping this obvious gold-digging woman, you decide to stay with her for 14yrs. Now when the LAW (that was there before you met this woman) says you need to pay her spousal support, you want to blame the LAW?!?!?! Are you okay?!?!?! The only person to be blamed here is the donkey who knowingly AND willingly stayed with this confirmed gold-digger. Nobody else!!!

Educate yourself on the issue so I don't have to do it for you...or better yet, Google is your friend.

Again, this women wasn't deformed when dude decided she should now never use Keke again and instead should always ride helicopter. The man willingly changed her life, which she is now accustomed to. So if your kids are now going to private school with private driver and $10k pocket money every months, then just because you guys divorce, doesn't mean any of these people should now suffer and change their lifestyle. If daddy/mummy can pay their partner and kids so that they can continue living such lifestyle, then the court of law has decided that they should.

Bro, you are fully entitled to your opinion, but we are not here to discuss what we like or not, we are here to understand and follow the law. The LAW says that after divorce or séparation, spouse/children cannot change lifestyle and that the richer spouse should make sure they continue living the life they have been accustomed to. So until poorer spouse has a job that can sustain such lifestyle and/or they get remarried, then ex wealthy spouse should pay spousal support. Now, anyone with a brain would understand this very simple LAW.

Again, we don't care about what "you" believe is right or wrong, FOCUS ON THE LAW!!!

Any man/woman should protect their wealth (they have worked all their lives for) the best way they see fit... With these above laws, NO wise wealthy man should get married in the west, unless he is willing to part with his loot. As for any live-in GFs etc, make sure she pays just as much as you do, with EVERYTHING, don't turn her into no lazy telemundo expert cow while you are the only one working, and if you have to give her some money, do that undercover so it cannot be traced back to you. So on paper you guys are on the same level....and when she ultimately leaves, she will go with exactly what she came in with.

@SIRtee15
Again, the LAW is not the problem here, the donkeys who knowingly ignore the LAW are...

Bornsinner1:
most of us here deprive ourselves of happiness just because we wanna follow the rules n regulations that just one person like us had started in the past. my woman whom I ought to marry next year is one year older than me and I didnt tell her cos I love her n don't want this African women shit to get over her if I tell her that she is older.
1. am scared she might not respect me anymore and act tyranny
2. she might Deprive both of us of our love just because she was told in africa u have to marry a man way older than u.

I think here in this part of the world only Money and fame makes you bypass all this African principles and rules
because if I am one celeb I think even my momma age mate won't mind fucking me and having babies for me

A very big inferiority complex bro

Their obssession with the middle east is alarming as if they are not connected to north africa/middle east they don't have culture or identity
macof:
The inferiority complex is so disgusting

Africans don't want to be ancestrally connected to Africa
Except it's Egypt
So many people coming up with nonsense about Egyptian, Israel or Arab origin

And this is something that sane Africans must resist and challenge. Its a big blow to our pride and dignity
RomanceRe: Tips For Dating A Nigerian Woman In America by RamessesIV(m):
Jainine:
This is getting interesting... grin

You see, white boys (not the racist ones) actually respect black women, I am not even talking about relationship wise yet, I am talking about generally, the white guys are not brought up to see their sisters or other women as any less than they are, if anything they are brought up to respect and support women. When they meet Nigerians, they bring that same energy into the room, and even if she is always on her guard, she will loose her guard quite easily because most people actually shouting for equality in and from Nigeria do so because of level of disrespect Nigerian men have for women.

Before we make this a debate on white vs black, I should quickly point out what point am trying to pass.

Even when a Nigerian woman, pays her own bill and doesn't beg for money from Nigerian men, they will want to bring her low to the level Nigerian culture set for women, under a man's feet. But when they meet white women they can't keep the energy

Secondly, white boy/black girl relationship or marriage is winning because the white boys do not have the same values and disrespectful upbringing. They adore women, respect them and love them.

All I'm saying and from what op has said is for Nigerians to learn humility and respect toward women. That is the reason for the happy marriages between black women and white boys

Cheers!
CultureRe: Benin Was A Yoruba speaking Empire. by RamessesIV(m): 11:15pm On Jul 26, 2020
There was no slave tradef because had slaves,if fulanis wanted slaves they just had to conquer their neighbors,Europe and Arabs could not as they were highly interested and besides Africa were the ones selling slaves too
Ame ujale:
Check the dates you are posting?

Let me put things into their perspective.

The horific Portuguese campaign begins in and around the 1300's, and the Arabian slavetrade precede that.

Eurocentrist tend to bring up their own history of slavery in our continent in an attempt to justify their horific attrocities, but they have failed.

Any slavetrade that occured from the point that the Arabian fundamentalist began their evil campaign, either the Arabian fundamentalist, Eurocentric warmonger or both were in charge.

Slavery and slavetrades was started by the Arabian fundamentalist in the First Millenium, around the 600's.

Again, there's no evidence anywhere in history of a slavetrade on the continent prior to the First Millenium, and that was due to the Arabian fundamentalist warmongers.

And that ties into the fact that there never was chattel slavery or a slavetrade anywhere in African history prior to the distruption of the Arabian fundamentalist and Eurocentric warmongers.

Assuming you have any evidence to the contrary, kindly post it here.

They don't need to attach any religious identity to any institution, cos that's where stigmatization starts.

all institutions should be neutral in names, or at most, should attach state names.

See there was a time I america where inter-racial marriage was considered a taboo, all these things are just laws meant to divide people what's the difference between the anatomy of a christian or muslimhuh? Go to other countries they marry between religions no problem, see if someone truly loves forget religion would be the last problem
DAramis:
Honestly, that quoted part is the biggest challenge I have regarding to relationship. It is extremely difficult to meet such people. The harder I try, the worst it turns out to be.

The Muslim lady was the only one that understood me and always reassure me about it.
RomanceRe: She Is A Muslim, I Am A Christian. Should I Forfeit The Relationship? by RamessesIV(m): 5:50pm On May 09, 2020
Yeah, muslim men can marry out but their kids must be muslims, honestly just find someone that understands you i once had a fling with a muslim once I knew she didn't have the strength I left her
DAramis:
I get your point bro. As for me, I am the open type that would prefer the woman to practice whatever religion that she wishes to, especially, if it makes her a better woman, wife and a friend.

As for saying that Islam does not support it, I would not know because I don't know where it is stated but I am aware that a Muslim friend of mine told me that it is in the Koran and backed it up with reasons (except if the guy in question lied to me).

The guy is also the one that made to be aware that a Muslim man's wife can be a Christian but following the teachings of the religion, all his children must be a Muslim like their father.

Just see this discussion from an objective point of view.
