Confused977: Good afternoon everyone here. I have been an ardent of this forum so, I felt it wouldn't be bad to bare my heart here as I know I'd surely get an advice that will make me see clearer. Please bear with me as I am not very perfect when it comes to expressing my self in writing. Pls pardon my write-up should you see it as too long. I just want to bare it all so one can know what to tell me. Thanks. My Name is Amanda. I lost my parents when I was sixteen . I am from a family of five. I was about to sit for WAEC before the sudden demise of my parents. I had to drop out of school cus I couldn't pay bills and my older siblings were still struggling, so I got a job. I worked as a cleaner say for 2 years and I was able to save up something and enrolled for WAEC AND GCE and I passed. I tried my first admission it didn't so the second year someone told me to try a Polytechnic and fortunately I got admitted. I joined school but I kept working and I saved up some bucks and at the end of my ND at federal poly Auchi my G. P was 3.40 yes! I cried for joy. I. T (Industrial Training) started and I felt it would make more sense If I could start something little within my environment. Since I knew a lot about female bags and wears I held on to the idea and started. My customer base grew as I went from department to department showing and convincing the "big girls" in school about my goods. I approached just anybody so long you female. I kept moving at that pace until I was heavily sought after. My room became my boutique. Why I am confused now All glory to God I have been able to establish a good relationship with people who sale to me on credit which allows me own varieties and sell more. 1. Not to exaggerate, I make a minimum of 40 to 45k a month as my own. 2. I ain't rich but I think I am comfortable for a young lady of my age. I will be 24 3rd October. I focused more on my business and I didn't join my mates for the HND session. My reason was; after school now, I go carry certificate they Waka up and down. Make I kuku use this small money wey I don save use am run my business first as I thought school can wait. could I be wrong?
# I have a course mate who traveled overseas after our ND and she has been encouraging me to come over since I could afford the travel expenses (not to lie, I was considering this also which made me forget going back for my HND.) Now my question is if you were me would you go back to school? I am of the opinion that schooling in Nigeria without a good back up could leave me frustrated after graduation. No job. # if you were me would you just continue with your business and open up a shop or would you travel out, get a job and go to school there? Pls advice Me as I would be turning 24 in no time and I am JUST CONFUSED I have the feeling that any decision I make at this point would either make or destroy me permanently. Pls help a sister Should I go back to school? cus my dad always wanted me to get an education but I feel I should be able to know what works as times have changed. Pls I am open to any form of advice. God bless. Cc. Lalasticlala, seun or any mod. I'd appreciate if you can move it to the right section or where it could get a wider view. Thanks Thorpido Raine80 et all... BiafranBushboy Hakeem4 I can't really remember usernames
I hope you get to read this, I read the whole story and also went ahead to look at the comments others had for you, I know that it is hard, life is hard, I too come from a poor background and suffered going through school, it is just that my parents are alive and made sure I completed school all the way to the university level.
You see, I studied Electrical Engineering but picked up Software Development in the university as a side hustle just like you did with your trade, I graduated and have not practiced Electrical Engineering ever since, I started work at a very popular Nigeria Tech company and earned about 350k monthly, but I left there only this year to a new company, guess where... Dubai, yup Dubai, I am currently living comfortably and doing okay over here... I am not sure how clear the message I was trying to pass across is, but none of these would have been possible if not for the fact that I have a bachelors in engineering. If I did not have that I probably will still be in software engineering but earning about 50k or 60k monthly, my point is you can earn so much more with a certificate, as useless as it may be, you will later realize it isn't really useless, I could not have gotten this job in Dubai without it, I probably would not have gotten my previous job without it, and even though I am not practicing Electrical Engineering the certificate is helping me, I have interviewed with really big tech firms I would not dream of reaching out to, it is simply because of the certificate.
My advice to you my dear lady is to go to school, don't settle for 40k to 50k, don't wait for a husband to come make your life better, just to let you know even the quality of husband you get can be a variable of the certificate you have. Again, do not settle for little when you can have the opportunity to get much more, I can't emphasize that enough, also the earlier the better, you are 23 now, you will be 28 when you complete an Engineering course, or 27 for other Sciences, which is not bad an age. But you can't wait much longer.
For your friend in Dubai, these are the conditions under which you should move over, ask her if she has a job for you, if she says you should come and hustle forget it, you will hate your life, if she says she has a job for you ask her how much and ask about when you get to speak to your employers, all of the terms and conditions, work permit, flight ticket, accommodation for at least the first month should be provided by your employer, on reaching dubai your employer has to work your Visa and Emirates ID, without asking you for any money. If none of these is possible forget about dubai, FORGET ABOUT DUBAI. Else, like many people have said, you will only end up in prostitution, unless of course you don't mind that.

dinma007: Nigerians on Twitter who ever considered running away from home as kids have shared the hilarious reasons that idea occurred to them and how their run away from home ended.
The stories left me in stitches. Get ready for yours. Read below:
nwabobo: It's 'dumb' not 'dump'. Go back to school now, JAMB cut off is now 120.
Awww, I am really happy for you that you got a chance for a comeback, but what I told you was the honest truth, I know it hurts you deep inside but there is nothing you can do about it now, the message has been passed across, and what makes me happy the most is that you understood it so well you corrected my spelling mistake, good boy.
nwabobo: From an Afonja newspaper, very predictable. Lol that Nigerian intelligence is able to identify an account domiciled in France which France the host nation is not even aware of
The desperation of this government has gone on to another level.
My nigga, sorry but you dump, any account on the surface of the earth can be traced, all connecting accounts can also be identified, you don't need a government to do that. Find your facts before you comment.
AfriAskMen: knowing your worth is different from the actual value you are offering.
E.g. an accountant with 7 years experience in a medium sized company believes his worth is N500K per month but the truth is that a lot of employers can.get accountants with experience of 10 years in a big size company for less than half that amount... that is the big issue with employers.... they have so many options for most positions in their establishments.... you need to be having rare skills that they CANNOT easily get before they pay that much.
Most people would never realise that.
Lol, you are funny, an accountant with 30 years experience in China receives less pay than one in the US, it is not because he does not add value to the company, it is simply because there are people who will do the job for less amount, this does not change the worth of the accountant. Make sense?
Learn to start small especially when you have no alternative
I don't understand how small you want him to start again, someone is already receiving 50k monthly and goes several month without salary, how small do you want him to start, people use that phrase start small as an excuse to stay in poverty, dream big, act big....
Lots of people are just looking for someone they will enslave, what is wrong if the man refuses to take a job less than 200k, if I had a job for him right now, I will give it to him, I see a man that knows his worth and would not settle for less. Wether you like it or not all men are driven my "selfishness", it is what you stand to gain from your job that makes you do it, not because you love your job so much.
Again, I like a man that knows his worth, and if anybody out there has a job for him they should not hesitate to offer him please.
DanseMacabre: The only motives I know of are trying to snatch another woman's husband or sugar daddy.
That is not true, anybody who was at ABU Zaria at about 2012 will know of the acid attack that heppened in front of Sulaiman Hall, a girl was bath in acid by her ex boyfriend. He called her out of the catholic church beside the hostel and then emptied the container of acid on the girl. I don't care what she did to him, she does not deserve that.
Video/Picture: Great Audio/Voice: Excellent Presentation: Excellent Lyrics: Terrible and Cliche
I think she is a great musician, she shouldn't be too proud to let somebody write her songs for her, 40 secs into the music I knew the lyrics was not going to change much, and I was right, but I still think she is a good musician and can do better with better lyrics.
I actually don't have anything against her makeup, just that some of the clothes she wore did not fit the song.

grossintel: what are you saying? Why compare a guy and a girls life span. The annoying thing here everyone keeps hating about is the 10 years. This is simply because a womans body is like a car, the more you drive it the higher the millage and the lower the value. After damaging her womb, slacking her breast and pvssy for 10 years, you want to dump her for who? So another man will come and inherit your used property while he goes for a fresh blood with a standing breast and no abortions. This guy is just wicked. His 6 years older than this girl, don't tell me his not experienced and didn't know he would take this action in future. I bet his abusing that girl physically so she would leave but she didn't so he's thinking of other options.
A woman's body is like a car because she wants it to be like a car, I know hundreds of women who are old and have great body, I know plenty of women who have divorced from multiple husbands but still in great shape, why should you believe your body is like a car when you can make it like a human. Everybody age, how well you take care of yourself will determine how much you age, if you don't believe me go the a proper village and look at a 15 year old girl who has not been in a relationship before and see the sagging breast. It is all about how well you take care of your body.
greatnaija01: kai you have wrecked her womb for another man to clean up your mess abi? chai.... when will ladies keep themselves till marriage...?? this is sad!! She is now an emotional WRECK. And you want a fresh girl who is untouched. Listen if u ever loved her... stick with her till Parents agree.
You are not ok o cos if she curses you NO MATTER THE MAN OF GOD WHO PRAYS FOR YOU IT WONT WORK O.... you have both killed an unborn child... Pls do not make a monster out of her. cos if she does not kill herself or kill you she will destroy another Man's Life
I don't like it when people like you make comments like this, Was it a forced relationship, did he force her to sleep with him, did he drug her, did be manipulate her, why should he be forced to marry her when they both had full idea of what they were doing, why should he be bound to take her as a wife when he clearly does not want to.
Relationships are meant for two people to enjoy not one person, and woe to that woman who will say to me you used me and dumped me, that is so stupid and lame, what was she doing when the guy was using her, was she in pain or did she equally enjoy whatever they had together.
Personally, I am not a promiscuous person, and I don't really believe in sex before marriage, but I think if we do it then both parties should be ready to bear the cross. Often times people sound as if only the man breaks heart, when in truth women break mens heart way more than men do them.
OP, please do not be compelled to marry her because you feel sorry for her, you will feel sorry for your life later on if you do.
Ignyte: Dear job seeker, even thoughyou use both words interchangeably they don't mean the same thing. Read below and stop living in Ignorance.

Resume and CV are same things Bro, Resume is to US and other American Countries while CV is more likely to be requested in Europe or British colonies, while they both have different formats of writing them, they represent the same thing, and no company will request for both because they are the same thing.
wunmi590: Honestly, if both parties are perfectionist, what matter most is communication, when it comes to relationship.
I am a perfectionist so as my fiancée, but we just make sure we understand each others taste and need, and thank God, things have been perfect.
Though sometimes, but not always that act still comes to play, but both party just over look it.
Sometimes if I want to help make her bed, my fiancée would just stop me from doing it, because she wants to make it to her taste like this this one below.
Anything short of the below picture is a turn off for her, In fact that's not her taste, she just had to rush to make it that day because we were already late to where, we were going.
My brother I can boldly tell you there is nothing perfect about that picture, teddy bear not sitting properly, measuring tape on the bed, sewing machine out of place, there is not a thing that is perfect in that room, you try to keep your room neat, fine, but there is nothing perfect about that, look at those books on the bed, it irks my body, and then the forest just outside your window, how do you even sleep at night, if you are a perfectionist you will place that wall frame properly to be rectangular, I know it is your style but I am a little OCD for regular common shapes. I can see paint stains too on your window pane, your bed is okay, but the sheet is too thin, I can almost see the mattress.
chimere66: According to the story sent by a Trezzy Helm reader,Emenike,an entire family in Ndieke Umuatuegwu in Okija,Anambra state allegedly died after being poisoned. It is unclear who poisoned them.Below is what he wrote...

Mbkite: Doctors and all concerned nairalanders, I really need to know if there is any treatment for itching especially after morning bath. I have used up all means known to me including, bathing hot water, applying aboniki after bath, etc. I brought this to nairaland believing to get a lasting solution. Thank you my good people.
Happens to me to, I used to think it is dirty towels, but I still scratched when I got new towels, sponge and soap, I don't know what it is but I am happy I am not alone, and yes, like one commenter said I don't scratch when I use hot water, I used hot water today and I don't remember scratching, that might be a solution, I will try it more and see if that works.
Zane2point4: Targeting pods, they can show high resolution images of battlefield, even while in motion. Being installed in f16, super hornet f18, and newef generations.
That guy is just very funny saying nonsense while trying to sound smart, I was actually pissed at his comment, how can you settle down to write such long text and say nonsense on every line, nobody can outdo that.
This video is fake. Probably a screenshot while playin' Flight Simulator 2000.
Do they think Nigerians are that stupid?
Let them show us evidence of the aftermath of these 'attacks' and the Boko Haram corpses - that's what every world military does. Even after the lyin' US government dropped the Mother Of All Bombs on Afghanistan months ago, the aftermath video was shown.
1. Nigeria has no bomber jet, we only have some obsolete fighter jets and fighter jets do not carry bombs - they carry missiles. Missiles do not drop from the undercarriage of any plane - only bombers can do that - they are fired. 2. That HUD looks very fake. Even after playin' it full screen, I couldn't make out anythin' written on it. Is that how the supposed pilot managed to hit his mark? 3. Nigeria has no workin' satellites so how the Bleep did they capture this video? Bomber jets & fighter jets do not come with undercarriage cameras. Judgin' by the footage, the camera was stationary and not moving fast. There's no single bomber/fighter jet in the world that can stop mid-air.
This video insults our intelligence.
Buhari's administration is an expensive joke.
As smart as you think you sound, you are actually very very wrong, I don't Buhari either but c'mon man, that should not make you say all those poo, bombers and jets both come with target cameras, or do you think they are there to see who can drop a bomb more blindly. Please just be truthful
attackgat: Above is the long history of killings and attrocities against Igbos in the North. This is enough reason for any sensible Igbo to know that there is nothing like ONE NIGERIA. Any Igbo who decides to stay in the North is one who has chosen to gamble with his life.
That is a stupid assumption, you Igbos feel you were the only one killed in those riots? I was in the middle of all the crisis that has occurred in Kaduna, from Zango-Kataf in 1991 to Sharia 2000, miss world crisis, church bomb explosion crisis, post election crisis etc I was in the middle of them all and every non-hausa man suffered alike, especially non-hausa northerners and Yoruba muslims, you make it seem like those were targeted attack on Igbos, you fools, it is one thing for you to fight for you freedom it is another for you to assume you are the victim in crisis that rocked the whole nation, I feel pained because I lost people in those crisis and I nor anyone of those people that lost their life are igbos. please get your facts right.
