Persephone1: Culture differs and may influence opinions. Where I'm from, the bride's family shoulders the major responsibility when it comes to the wedding ceremony. The bride's parent carries most, and the couple supports them. Due to the economic situation, both the groom, the bride, and the bride's parents share the bills while the groom's parents support them.
Most brides consider what happens after the wedding so they hardly ever allow a man to go too extra. Yeah. You will see the color, the glamour, the flamboyant owambe but believe me behind it all is combine deliberations and calculations from both couple and parents. Nobody wants their daughter to end up soaking gaarri after wedding. It is very rare for wedding to be fully sponsored by the groom, that's a slap on Yoruba parents . Correct! I knew you were Yoruba from your first paragraph. |

Seek help. You can Google some self help books.
It should help boost your self esteem . And help you learn "manners". Oh just shut up. Who cares if it's 10 years ago? You were unreasonably arrogant. When you go for an interview, you're not going there to beg, you're not begging anyone for money or favors. You're there to win. And your senses should have told you that, when you want something from someone, the other person automatically has the upperhand. Give to Caeser what he deserves. Nobody asked you to grovel. And yes, you're daft and arrogant. No where did I say or imply that I'm nice. Afterall, I referred you to my comments on this forum. You don't tell your interviewer "as you please" . That's just too much. |

leroi01: This is exactly why your employer will treat you like shyt, disrespect you and still expect you to be grateful for it.
If you know the value you offer, you would Have some self respect. You know, it's even very daft of you to go interviewing for a job carrying your shoulders. This is what I tell people. It's not a smart move, just daft daft daft. Humble yourself and get the job. That don't make you a doormat. When you get in, you can then do as you like, your skills and confidence will speak for you. It's only insecure people and those who don't know their onions people walk all over. Not even your MD will disrespect you on your job cos you're confident. So when you go into an interview with pride, what do you gain other than add to your stupidity? You need to be strategic to achieve your goals. Not everytime gra gra. Go and read my posts on this forum, then you'll know I'm not a pushover. Again, for your record, I've not had any personal experience regarding this topic or I'd have shared mine. Perhaps because I got the looks and I have a good taste in fashion. My appearance is always very appealing so you wouldn't want to "disrespect" me. Also, I'm very likeable so I always ace my interviews. Any questions directly about my personal life wouldn't hurt me, just don't bring my family into it. |

I own a recruiting and staffing company, and I totally understand the frustration of some candidates.
We recruiters have a specialized training and industry standards on questions to ask and not to ask a candidate. Wow. Finally, someone who's passionate about HR. Many people do this course and get certified for name's sake. They couldn't care less. |

Only the smart ones will notice the hidden camera in the room and knows that while sitting down there it is already your interview
Lol These kind of situations are the easiest for me. I can hold myself well during interviews. If you like delay for hours on end, I wouldn't flinch or break. I know their game. Whereas in the real world, I'm an impatient person. Impatient to the extent that I don't use the ATM cos of queues. I wanted to smack his bald head, but I maintained my calm. In a nutshell, we ended up laughing loud when he asked again if I were a 'Ibo man', knowing fully well that I am a Yoruba man.. This was really funny. But I wouldn't get angry if I'm asked why aren't I married cos really why am I not married at my age. It's a very sensible and objective question if you asked me. |

Now, things are a little tight for me and ironically, I am happy about it. Because when the going was good, I wasn't doing anything meaningful with the money but gamble.
Government must ban all these betting companies. Youths are losing their minds on a daily. There's nothing evil about gambling. It's greediness that's the issue. Once you tackle a problem from its source, you'll win the battle. Deal with the problem of greediness that u have first, and everything else will fall into place. |

NoToPile: The only challenge I see here is just because the child is autistic.
I have a son who is very calm and would rather report to his teachers and me at home than fight back, his teachers even told me he is calm and doesn't like fighting back.
One day he complained so much and out of frustration I told him to Fight back didn't know I gingered something in him. The teachers had to ask me at pick up time if I asked him to fight back, he actually overdid it and we all rested. No more nonsense from anybody for a while. This was interesting to read. It means your son respects, loves and looks up to you. That's why he took your words to heart and your words encouraged him. I believe he sees you as his greatest support. |

. Those people telling you to persuade your husband know nothing. The reason your husband is adamantly refusing you is that, he knows he would sleep with her. Take it or leave it. And that's why he's not giving you any reason. |
