Joseph Obinna Ogba (born 1961 in Ebonyi State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician. He is the senator representing Ebonyi Central senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate. He is a member of the 8th National Assembly in Nigeria and also senator-elect in the 9th republic of the National Assembly.

Personal life and education
Joseph Ogba was born in 1961 in Nkalagu, Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. He was raised in Ishielu briefly. Ogba attended Command Secondary School in Nkalagu where he received his General Certificate of Education in 1975. He then attended Federal Polytechnic, Oko where he obtained a Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication.
He is happily married to Dr. Mrs. Francisca N. Ogba and they have 5 lovely children.

Career
Ogba started his career in the Nigerian Police Force in 1980 Due to his love for sport, football especially he became a referee in the Nigerian Football Referee Association in 1986. In 1995, he was appointed Chairman of Nigeria Football Referee Council (Anambra State Chapter) and served in that position till 1997. In 1997, he was appointed a member of Federal Government Delegation to United States on Image Building.

Political career
In 1998, he went into politics and was elected Chairman of Ishielu local government in Ebonyi State. Subsequently he was appointed Chairman of Chairmen (ALGON) in Ebonyi State. Due to his experience in football, he was appointed Chairman, Ebonyi Angels Football Club in 1999 up till 2002.
While still serving as Chairman of Ebonyi Angels, he was appointed Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Ebonyi State in 2002. In 2003, after serving as commissioner he was appointed the Chairman of Football Association in Ebonyi State. In 2006, he was the Chairman of the marketing and sponsor committee of Nigeria Football Federation.
During the 2015 general elections in Nigeria, Ogba contested for the senate and was elected to represent Ebonyi Central senatorial district. He was appointed Chairman committee on sports in the Nigerian senate. In 2019, he was re-elected into the Nigerian senate for a second term.

Back then in the university I wasn’t very serious with school cos I was either with some of my guys drinking or at home. It got so worse to the extent I didn’t know most of my coursemates. In our third year a coursemate of mine was to get married and she started selling her wedding cloth so that was when I knew she was my coursemate

So in our final year I was paired with her as project partners and that was how we got closer. Mind you, the husband was a womanizer working in one of the first generation bank and was a bit loaded. Cos of our projects, she sometimes visited me at home cos her husband asked some of her hostel mates to watch over her the reason she asked me not to visit her.

The first day she visited me the first thing she looked for was my mattress according to her and fortunately my aunt just got back from the USA at that time and bought me those double mattresses. She would stay in my room, watch me take my bath, dress up and won’t even bother to leave. One day I even asked her to leave for me to change but she insisted on staying by saying “Wetin you dey hide wey dem never see”. She wanted me to be intimate with her but I was too scared to do it and she kept her cool.

She was the person that gave me a feel of what restaurant food tastes like. She was subbing for me then with 1k Airtel monthly subscription. This woman would buy half goat and give me a full goat lap. We spoke about everything but never had sex even tho some of my coursemates thought we were. While she was doing those things, she literally left all the projects works on my head.

Even while she left after our graduation we were still communicating. She would call me after her husband has left for work and we will talk for more than 2 hours and this happened daily. She later told me that she wanted me sexually cos she couldn’t get pregnant for her husband meaning she wanted me to get her pregnant while she hooks it on her husband. About a year after we graduated she got pregnant and immediately she gave birth we stopped communicating.

Some years later I was pursuing a Canada visa and I needed money so badly and I couldn’t so I called her but she refused even tho I knew she was financially capable to assist and that got me angry cos I had invested so much friendship in her and never believe she could leave me angry. But later on I realized that the reason she could walk away easily without looking back was cos we never had sex.

To a woman, sex is like a stamp that seals up a friendship or relationship. So if you are not having sex with a lady to her you’re like a brother to her cos she can’t have sex with her brother. No matter how bad a relationship ended, there’s possibility that you can still have sex with an ex when left alone in a room

Been doing some thinking lately since Sen. Abaribe declared intentions to run for gubernatorial position in Abia. I'm pretty certain he'd win the PDP primaries, since that's the case, I really hope Uche Ogah would rally behind Oti on the APC platform. If not, Abia state would have to suffer another 8years of backwardness and mediocrity.

Abaribe has been a senator for over 8years yet he has nothing to show for it in terms of development of his constituency.
