I understand your point perfectly well but such a man should not be discussing marriage until he's able to stand firm on the ground. What's the essence of getting married when you can't act like a husband you are supposed to be? We shouldn't be calling God for things we could have avoided with proper planning.

Just as our faces are different so is our heart and mind. I live in Nigeria and i wont be proud. In life, there are some situations People go through, they cant change it, the only option is to adhere to it or walk away from it.

Then, the best thing to do is to focus on how to better your situation than anything else. Whether it's your fault that you don't have a source of income or not is inconsequential!

I strongly disagree with number five. Not having a job does not mean he should be single or not fit enough for marriage. There are some girls who may feel bad about it but they dont let it control them. They believe in tomorrow and they love the guy for who he is and not what he has. I have seen a girl who paid largely for her wedding and she has been supportive. Today the guy is working and doing fine too.

Now, is it that men are generally scarce or the number of guys who can be counted as husbands by our young educated ladies are scarce? huh

Below are some signs to show you that you are not yet ready to take the position of 'Head of the House':

1) You still slap your girlfriend in public with the slightest provocation: If you still do this, it means you are not a husband material. In fact, the husband material in you cannot even patch a torn trouser!!! Women are meant to annoy you sometimes. She would even do nastier things when both of you are married. Are you going to kill her then? huh

2) You behave far below your age: I don't even know whether it's the economy that has created this situation? huh

It's common these days, to see grown men who are almost 35, still behaving like teenagers! They sag their jeans, drink and smoke Indian hemp and go home to eat their mums' food. If you can't take responsibility for your life, you have no business talking about marriage and the husband material in you doesn't amount to a breast-pocket! grin

3) You cannot take care of yourself: How can you take care of someone when you can't take care of yourself? huh

You must have a job or business venture that brings in regular income to attain 'husbandhood'. Anything short of this, means that some terrible insects must have eaten the husband material in you!

4) You still allow friends to control your life: A grown man should be able to make policies that govern his life without the interference or influences of his friends. Regrets are personal. Nobody regrets with you even if they contributed to your problems in life! If you cannot rule your own life, then, how can you rule a house or family? huh

5) You are jobless: If you are jobless, there's no need focusing on committed relationship! Even if you didn't study Economics in school, your brain should be able to let you know that getting something doing should be at the top in your scale of preference than chasing a woman for courtship!!! She won't respect you; don't even try to talk to her about marriage or else, you'll appear like Ajalakpo, the famous village buffoon!!! wink
