Politics › Re: When did Borno became Part Of The Middle Belt Not North! by Rawani: 10:57am On Aug 31, 2014
Even if the entire world is in the middle belt, Kaduna State is not in the middle belt. Wikipedia mistake fixed.
Politics › Re: 2015 APGA Alliance With Pdp:what Is In For The Igbos? by Rawani: 8:45am On Aug 31, 2014
barcanista: APGA is clearly an unserious party. I made a comment in one thread that APGA will be politically irrelevant even in the SE if it endorses a Presidential Aspirant of another Party. We all know that the Igbos will vote PDP in the Prez contest as long as Jonathan is on the ballot. ApGA's endorsement has no effect on Igbo population. It all boils down to the fact that the Igbos DO NOT play opposition, they prefer being in the "winning" team. In fact, the reason most of them support Jonathan is not because they suddenly luv him in 2010 but because he is an incumbent with access to State's Resources. If jonathan was contesting on LP platform as an opposition, trust me he will barely get a single vote in d whole of Igboland.

I hope I made sense

Politics › Re: Female Poly Student Sells Baby For N620,000 by Rawani: 8:40am On Aug 31, 2014
barcanista: Guy na wa yu o cheesy
Bruv i'm only excited for the improving economics. We used to hear of babies being sold for N85k for girls and N100k + for boys. Increasing demand and market forces has caused the sky-rocketing of the price to N620,00 shocked, this industry has the potential to boost the SE economy, and give it something to contribute to the GDP for once. Lets not discredit the achievements of this administration. #PoliticsofFairness
Politics › Re: Female Poly Student Sells Baby For N620,000 by Rawani:
The FG's efforts in encouraging SME's is yielding fruits. This was simply a small scale baby manufacturing exercise, which failed as a result of the lack of s.w.o.t analysis on the enterprise. Ndigbo kwenu!

Desperation for political relevance and to alleviate the pain of losing and being marginalized all the time. Prolonged living under such a condition results in inferiority complex, which is evident in the posts of some members here which cannot be made without resorting to insults and derogatory language.
Politics › Re: Opinion: Increased Power Supply, Pipeline Vandalism And The Weather by Rawani: 12:15pm On Aug 30, 2014
barcanista: Is electricity stable? Or increased? How many hours? Where in Lagos is your case study? We have to get our facts right before coming to conclusion. If 75% lagos residents and 75% Nigerians in both north and south could testify of this improved power then we can be right to say power has improved. Also with less than 5000MegaWatt, you don't expect power to improve significantly across Nigeria.

We need to get our facts before endorsing propaganda
Exactly. Though I'm not around to judge, but I think that concluding that power has significantly improved, based on a few areas in Lagos is being half-sincere. I think what should be done is to analyse the inputs that have increased and measures taken, for replication in other areas. For example, if the improved areas are being served from the state owned IPP's off the national grid, then efforts to establish more of these stations should be made. If vandalism has reduced, the measures taken to discourage it should be replicated. The most mind boggling thing to me about electricity generation in Nigeria, is why the authorities are ignoring nuclear power plants, as this is what we need to ensure our economy is sufficiently powered in these modern times and attract much needed FDI.
Politics › Re: 2015 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: The Top Contenders In All Progressive Congress by Rawani: 11:55am On Aug 30, 2014
Gen. Buhari is the only candidate that can ensure victory for our dear party as Kwankwaso's credentials are relatively unknown beyond the North, unlike GMB. I think a large number of southerners actually like Buhari's anti-corruption stance and leadership ability, but find it difficult to trust him. This is why I think his campaign should focus on building trust, rubbishing propaganda against him which will settle raised issues, and emphasizing on his unique selling points. This, coupled with a popular and competent SW running mate will ensure Nigerians see the CHANGE we yearn for. Sai GMB.

Politics › Re: El-Rufai Is Boko Haram’s Executive Commander – Ihejirika by Rawani: 8:42am On Aug 29, 2014
chinasaekperem: why did you believe the australian? With facts please.....
1. The negotiator, Dr. Davis, a seasoned political geographer, adviser and international consultant, has no reason to risk his reputation and career from falsely indicting Nigerian sponsors of terror, neither does he have any grounds for bias.

2. Dr. Davis was employed by President Jonathan, who gave him a military aircraft, as a consultant to assist in rescuing the Chibok girls, which was his assignment when he uncovered the sponsors.

3. Dr. Davis has served the past 2 Nigerian Presidents, OBJ and Yar'adua, a Christian and a Muslim.

If with all these facts you cast doubts on his testimony, your case is not for here.
Politics › Re: Jonathan’s Chief Boko Haram Negotiator Implicates SAS, Ihejirika As BH Sponsors by Rawani: 6:54am On Aug 29, 2014

"Ihejirika sponsor of boko haram." Yeah right! (rolls eyes).
The backlash could be heavy.

Posers

1. Why would Dr. Davis be lying on Ihejirika?

2. Why is Ihejirika throwing emotional fits directed at El-Rufai, instead of addressing the allegation with facts directed at Dr. Davis/Arise TV?

3. Why did Ihejirika deceive Nigerians and waste precious lives by not arresting his "commander of BH", instead of keeping silent for months which saw the Abuja and Kano bombings? His job is to act, and not worry if he is believed or not.

ISpiksDaTroof: Just so you remember, the very First major bombing was committed by an Ijaw man, a South Southerner, on Independence Day, Oct'1, 2010. His name was Henry Okah. He is currently serving a life sentence for that crime.

This is where the story goes nuts...

HENRY OKAH SAID GEJ AND HIS PROXIES ASKED HIM TO STAGE THE BOMBING THEN BLAME NORTHERN POLITICIANS. Henry Okah's M.E.N.D terror organization claimed responsibility for the bombing, BUT GEJ CLAIMED IT COULDNT HAVE BEEN THEM. He then sought to pin it on all his Northern Political opponents.

If you've ever thought, for even one second, that GEJ and his gang were not behind the earliest bombings (something I've been screaming since the first week it occurred) then you have a lot to do in the "complex critical/logical thinking" department.
Classic Response. Take a bow.

EasternLeopard: BH told one Australian that their sponsors are Sheriff and Ihejirika and you believe

Pls was Ihejirika army chief btw 2001- 2009 when obj and yar adua were president

Pls refund back Awo's free education money
Please enlighten me on:

1. Why the negotiator would be lying on Ihejirika.

2. Why Ihejirika is throwing emotional fits directed at El-Rufai, instead of addressing the allegation with facts directed at Dr. Davis/Arise TV.

3. Why Ihejirika deceived Nigerians and wasted precious lives by not arresting his "commander of BH", instead of keeping silent for months. His job is to act, and not worry if he is believed or not.

SeaGold: The news today is that BOKO HARAM is telling the world to go after their Chief sponsor, Ihejirika so they can lay down their arms abi?
Boko Haram did not tell the world anything, the revelation was a result of covert investigations by a seasoned negotiator.

Litmus: So because he is white he most be telling the truth, huh? Just like all mighty America had magic technology that we were sure would pinpoint the girls.

Has it not occurred to anyone that the information he gathered may be from Nigerian sources and influenced by the views of mischief makers? Long before many Niralanders heard of this Australian fellow, they read on Nairaland, people accusing all manner of Northern politicians of being sponsors of Bokoharam - from that Bornor governor to Buhari. Just like many online media houses, world-wide, get their information on what is happening in the North East of Nigeria from Nigerians, isn't it likely that this guys views are influenced by Nigerians that work with him , guiding his investigations - if any- in the direction that they want.
[size=13pt]Not really because he is white, but because he is independent, unbiased and experienced (he has worked for two past Nigerian Presidents, both christian and moslem, who he did not name). What he said was not an opinion, but a personal report from the intelligence gathered on field. I have been trying to ask myself what possible motive the reporter would have to stake his credibility and risk his entire career on international TV to make false accusations against people who he should have no reasonable bias against, but found none. The fact is Ihejirika has been named as a terrorist and El-rufai only drew attention to it. Emotional outbursts instead of a calm logical response is a simple sign of guilt.
