Clubs would be reluctant to sign him because he won't play for about 6 weeks next year when he'll be at the African cup of Nations. ![]() |
![]() I hope this means that the 15% salary increase that was promised workers would come any time soon. ![]() When is that strike starting sef? ![]() |
Indications emerged on Monday that President Umaru Yar’Adua, state governors, political and public officers will enjoy a new pay package. Apart from lawmakers at all levels, the Chief Justice of Nigeria and other judicial officers will also benefit from the new pay. A source in the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, who spoke in confidence with our correspondent in Abuja, confirmed that the proposals on the pay rise were sent to the Fifth National Assembly in February 2007. The source said that the Senate ratified the new package at the twilight of its tenure in May. He said, “Based on some economic indices, we recommended an increase of about 150 per cent over the package in our 2000 report. “We felt that the Consolidated Top Federal Public Office Holders Salary Structure was no longer realistic. We took into account the inflation rate from 1999 to date, the external reserves, the Gross Domestic Product growth rate, the prices of oil and other economic factors. “We had a lot of consultations with the stakeholders, especially those in the executive, legislative and judicial arms of the government.” The source added that the new package would also correct the errors in the 2000 salary structure for political office-holders. Highlights of the new basic salary (per annum) are: President, N3,514,705.00; Vice-President, N3,031,572.50; Minister, N2, 026,400.00; Minister of State, N1,957,580; Special Adviser, N1,942,875.00; Auditor-General/Permanent Secretary, N1,925,865.00. Others are: the Chief Justice of Nigeria, N3,363,972.50; Justice of the Supreme Court and President of the Court of Appeal, N2,477,110.00; State Governor, N2, 223,705.00; Deputy Governor, N2,112,215; Chairman of Local Government, N908,312.00; and Vice-Chairman, N853,056.00. For the legislature, the package includes President of the Senate, N2,484,242.50; Deputy President of the Senate, N2,309,166.75; Senator, N2,026,400; Speaker of House of Representatives, N2,477,100; Deputy Speaker, N2,287.034.25; and Member of the House of Representatives, N1,985,212.50. The beneficiaries also include Speaker (State House of Assembly), N1,639,875; Deputy Speaker, N1,445,982.50; member, N1,337,225; Leader of the Local Government Legislature, N811,000; Deputy Leader, N810,000, and Councillor, N760,076. A magazine, the Economic Confidential, had in one of its editions said, “The new package contains increase in the annual basic salaries and some allowances for the office-holders. “Some existing allowances have also been modified. They include medical, security, severance gratuity and accommodation. “The accommodation allowance has been segregated based on differences in cost of living in various locations in the country. “However, rent allowance has not been consolidated with the rest of the allowances in the emolument package, as it is payable where an office is not provided accommodation at government expenses.” The source in RMAFC said the new salary package and allowances had become effective. The Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, on Monday said the last Senate passed the RMAFC bill on the new package before it wound up its sitting in May. Ndoma-Egba made the clarification on the telephone with our correspondent in Abuja. He said the passage of the law made it possible for the RMAFC to implement the current salaries and allowances for members of the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. He said, “The RMAFC law was passed by the last Senate and is already in effect.” He explained that the Senate passed the proposal sent to it by the commission in February. Ndoma-Egba said, ”We treated it before the last Senate came to an end. What I don‘t know is whether the House of Representatives did the same. “Constitutionally, we cannot set our own remuneration because we are an interested party. “The commission sets and reviews remuneration when the new economic indices point to such a review. The commission sets it and brings it to the National Assembly to ratify.” He explained that the legislature was the only arm of government recognised by the 1999 Constitution to appropriate funds for the general well-being of Nigerians. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art200706123243889 |
Drogba says he might quit Chelsea! This is just a case of "Increase my salary"! The guy wants more money, that's all! ![]() All this players sef. . . ![]() http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=471420&CPID=8&clid=8&lid=2&title=Drogba+in+Blues+warning&channel=football_home& |
Blackbeauty, does your husband cook? |
RichyBlacK:Rich boy, if my husband says we should split the money for the chef, then i'll tell him we should do it on a ratio basis of 2:1. That is, if he earns 20,000 naira and I earn 10,000 naira and we have to pay the chef 1000 naira monthly, then he will pay 667 naira, while I'll pay 333 naira! Chikena! ![]() |
Walahi, if I marry a man and discover that he loves food more than me, I swear that we would be heading back to court in the first two weeks of that f*ucked up marriage! ![]() |
Mukina, I tire for this Nigerian men o! They can be so selfish. Most of them love their stomachs more than their wives. ![]() Someone ones said that there is no love in Nigeria, I now understand why! ![]() I have said that I don't have a problem with cooking as long as the man is ready to pay all the bills! That's the true African way! But this same men would ask that you share the financial responsibilities with them. You can't eat your cake and have it! ![]() |
I-man, you know what's funny? I don't mind doing all the work in the house, as long as the man pays all the bills including buying my make-up, lingerie and diamonds. The man should be willing to let me spend my money on myself and myself only. I believe I've said this before. |
Irony.I noted earlier that women make decisions on which men to hook up based on relatively trivial things-money,looks- yet when we proclaim that the ability to cook helps endear us to certain women, they start hyperventillating
I-man, I get your point. I quite agree with you. I'm sure you won't be offended then, if I start a thread titled 'What is the value of a man with a tiny penis'! ![]() |
Can all the married men on Nairaland please post their pictures? I mean pictures of their bellies? ![]() If they do, you would see that 90% of them have potruding bellies (from over eating)! ![]() These same men would carry their big bellies to campuses to chase girls young enough to be their daughters! Shameless Men! ![]() As for you richyblack, I don't have your time yet. What kind of name is Richyblack sef? ![]() |
Jjay1, would you marry me? I love you, I swear! I hope my boyfriend doesn't catch me o! |
Thanks JJay1! As for you RichyBlack, please can you also give me any evidence that states that women who can't cook have husbands who cheat? ![]() It's actually the contrary. If a Nigerian man marries a woman who can't cook, it means he really loves her for who she is and not what she can do. Such a love can last the test of time. ![]() Most Nigerian men do not marry for love, instead, they marry for convenience. ![]() |
WesleyanA, thanks for that observation. Unfortunately, some men wouldn't listen to you. ![]() Mukina, the funny thing about men who run their mouth about wanting to marry women who can cook is that they end up not marrying their soul mates. If a man takes too much interest in food and makes cooking a criteria for finding a wife then its more likely that he'll marry the wrong person and end up unhappy. I noticed that most men who claim to have perfect wives (i.e. wives that can cook, keep the house tidy and are good in bed), usually cheat on their wives! Can any man please explain why this is so? ![]() |
JennyMan: efuah:Efuah, that was an insult to women o! ![]() |
This is one funny ass thread! Unfortunately I don't have no rhymes to drop! ![]() |
loyika:You wish. ![]() |
Loyika, admit it - That kit is ugly! ![]() |
Arsenal lose top coach to Chelsea Arsenal have lost one of their coaches to London rivals Chelsea. Amid the fallout from David Dein's departure as Arsenal vice-chairman, the Sunday Mirror says Dermot Drummy, a highly regarded member of Arsenal's academy coaching staff, has been lured away by arch-rivals Chelsea recently. http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=43123 |

Most Nigerian men would insist that their wives cook amala or pounded yam for them and then they would eat it in very large quantities and get pregnant. When they get the large tummies, they would claim it's an 'evidence of good living'.I don't know why our men have not developed enough common sense to know that you should not eat heavy meals at night! ![]() If a man can't cook, he should not blame the woman for not being able to cook as well. If he knows how to cook, then he should teach his wife if she can't cook. Afterwards, they should share the cooking responsibilities. If your wife can't cook, then cook for her. That's true love! ![]() |
RichyBlacK:That's all some men think about: - Food food food! ![]() Is that what you should be looking for in a woman? ![]() Later you would over eat and carry your big belle around looking like you're pregnant! ![]() |
RichyBlacK:I don't mind doing all that. Big deal! ![]() You should also be ready to carry half of the kids in your womb for nine months and give birth to them. ![]()
Its horrible to have a life partner who can't cook.Yes,food is very important.I want my kids to live a healthy life.
Good, then do the cooking! ![]()
Would you marry a truck pusher?
If we love each other, why not? ![]() |
I-Man, you beat me to it! Where is Muki o! Haa haa haa. . . ![]() |
I-man , look, is it a cook you want to marry or a life partner? ![]() Like Seun said, if you need a cook, employ one! There are more important things in marriage besides food. Companionship and friendship are the most important factors in marriege. You want to marry someone you can grow old with and still be fond of. Someone you can share memories with in your old age on your rocking chairs. Typical african men, all you think of is food! Then after your wife has cooked the food to make you happy at home, you would still go outside to chase pretty girls to have fun with.Nonsense! ![]() |
xploits777:WOW! So Chelsea beat Arsenal again! ![]() Where is Mukina o! ![]() |
If a man insists that I do all the cooking, then he should not complain when I keep my paycheck to myself and spend all my money on jewelry, clothes and frivolities! ![]() If he wants me to be his servant/slave, then he should be ready to foot all the bills in the house, including my lingerie! ![]() |
Many times its not a question of whether a woman can cook or not. Most Nigerian women can cook. Most nigerian men can cook also. ![]() The question is who actually does the cooking. ![]() My stance on the issue is that since me and my husband are going to share the financial responsibility in the family (i.e. we both support the family financially), then we would also share household chores. My husband would cook breakfast on weekdays, and lunch and dinner on weekends. And I would cook lunch and dinner on weekdays and breakfast on weekends. Chikena! ![]() We would also share cleaning and laundry in the house. ![]() The only thing we wouldn't share is childbirth, since I can't impregnate him. ![]() Every other thing will be fifty-fifty! ![]() |
Haaaaa Seun, I have fallen head over heels in love with you! Are you married? You are the man after my own heart! Seun, will you marry me? |

You guys are just confirming Kola's accusation. ![]() |
Sir Kay, did you see Topeorekoy's post? That's what I'm talking about. ![]() |
Haa haa haa. . . What a funny thread! ![]() Bro Kola, You can't stop going to Church because of one annoying gunner. Gunners are basically like that. You wouldn't believe that on the day of the FA Cup final, before our match against Manure, some gunners engaged me in a serious argument for two hours. In the process I lost my voice. A friend of mine (A Manure fan) told me afterwards that I should never again argue with gunners. He said they always find ways of winding you up. That's their nature. ![]() My sincere advice to you is to just ignore the guy. Don't ever argue with a gunner, you'll just kill yourself. They are the most underachieving side of recent yet na them get mouth pass. ![]() |
