Archmed: This war aint really between North and South Korea. Its a battle for supremacy between China and the United States.Or what is the moral justification in the U.S-South Korean military drills(where heavy military and assault artilleries plus fighter jets)were used on the very restive korean waters. What is China's explanation to keeping mute on a very spoilt and restless neighbour who at the slightest provocation threaten its neighbour with nuclear weapons.I just hope the two Koreans aint caught in between when the super powers(China and US)start to flex muscles. The world is watching-(excludin Jonathan pls..he's got his own headache-the boko boys!!)
China military strength of now is same as that of USA in 1960. Population does not win a war. We fight modern warfare and not that of humans. china should battle making superior products first before engaging big brother in war. Imagine china shooting down satellite in space in 2010 or there about and it made headlines in their country while USA did same thing in 1980.

with Russia behind and china sitting on the fence, its going to be a fun war.
I dont discuss international politics with people that dont travel. Iran could not defeat Iraq yet you are talking about their fake military myth? USA took over Iraq in three days, do the maths?

babapupa: The environment we all live in deserve respect and cordiality because without respecting and taking care of it, there wont be any environment for you to trade in. Too bad many of you are too shortsighted and can not reason beyond your greed and money.

Our laws deserve respect and cordiality too because it is all we have standing in between us and lawbreakers, dangerous elements and weapons in our markets.

There is more to humanity and sane societies that your money.
Stop claiming Lagos, you are from a rocky mountain in ekiti state. 40 percent of people that sell in that market are yorubas also so stop claiming false righteousness
Well that is what we have been saying education is power. Fashola exploited these people because they don't know there right. The councils are supposed provide these people with disposable facilities which they didn't do or alternatively make laws to make sure this part s are recycled or provide recycling parks. These people would have won these case if they had gone to a normal court but it's Nigeria again I doubt if we have normal people as judges in the Nigerian justice system, but they should have gave it a try which they didn't so you are at fault if your councillors are miss using your tax. The question I want to ask is why pay tax and provide basic amenities for your self again something is wrong some where.
You are absolutely right. There is a missing link between and I strongly believe the council guys are receiving bribe for been passive all these years. This is an area that can create employment in Lagos state also if well utilize. Junk yards for car parts are not meant to be clean but that does not mean dirts should be left littering all over the place, which eventually becomes hazard. Those traders should carry out environmental sanitation every monday or friday and if caught doing the opposite a fine should be issued to the accused.

We saw what happened in Lagos during the june 12 aftermath when Ndigbo truly went back to their village. Starvation and desperation made kola and family relocate to benin republic. Eko oni baje became a ghost town .
PoliticsRe: Lagos Re-opens Ladipo Market by RealMccoy2(m): 5:28pm On Mar 11, 2013
Now fashola should make sure that the tax those people pay reflect on the area as well good roads and other amenities necessary, and let the councils do there jobs too. He should have summoned the councillors of that area he didn't need to get too involved.
Thats a trick question, ACN leaders will steal the money.

rosebowl01: Thank you for pointing that out. It amazes me how they use SELECTIVE MEMORY to justify their position ie talk only about those things that favor me, but pretend as if I can't remember that I was also a culprit for the most part. I wonder if other people observe this and choose not to care, or something else. You call Yorubas slaves, yet, you spent more time teaming up as deputy president, speaker etc with the people that uses you for target practice, while Yorubas have spent more time in the opposition. Igbos, try and be objective so that people'll understand you and show you some respect. A respect which I sincerely believe you deserve by virtue of your contribution to this great but failed Nation.
Nothing against yoruba, its just unfortunate that some of their leaders dont understand political chess. Obasanjo is a man that understood Nigerian politics morethan most ACN leaders and that is why he will never join them in regional political alliance. In the game, you dont put all your eggs in one basket (ACN). Dont think an allaince with the core north will make them feel Tinubu is less of Yoruba that Obasanjo whom they felt betrayed their mandate. Fulani does not forgive and I bet they will play ACN leaders as they did to Abiola and Awo

kettykings: If your Education was not half bakedwithfrom the worthless and free Education offered to you by Awolowo you would have realized that there was cross carpeting by Yorubas in NCNC to AC when Awolowo sowed the Seed of political Discord in the Nigerian political Hemisphere in 1951 4 years before the alliance of Zik and NPC was contemplated.
http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/72378-first-nigeria-regional-elections-western-nigeria-1951-elections.html
Dr. Mbu said of that election held on 24 September 1951 that: "Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was betrayed by the Western Region of Nigeria, not by the electorate, but by the leaders. The NCNC won the election against the Action Group (led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo), but the Action Group introduced what was unknown to Nigerian history", namely, "carpet crossing. They Action Group bought members of the NCNC to join the Action Group after these people had won election on the platform of the NCNC. Zik, the leader of a majority party in the Western Region became the Leader of Opposition overnight".

Zik went into alliance with NPC in 1955 after suffering from the worst form of Political betrayal and backstabbing by the cross carpeter and when he realized that the same Awolowo that was offering him a hand of fellowship had offered same to Ahmadu Bello in 1953 as if that was not enough by 1962 Akintola's NNDP went into alliance with the NPC resulting in the biggest blackmail and back stabbing in the political history of the world

Re: Samuel Ladoke Akintola by Katsumoto: 11:47pm On Jul 30, 2010
Akintola aligned with Bello and Balewa and in the process, turned western nigeria into a battle ground. Akintola succeeded in ensuring that his supporters were rewarded with several positions in Nigeria while Western Nigeria was burning.

If this arrangement is true, Yorubas will loose again. The only way I will support APC is if they allow Fashola to be their presidential candidate and a Northern a Christian from Southern Kaduna or Plateau state as his vice president. Politics in Nigeria is a game of chess, I hate to see this but PDP is far reached that ACN and CPC which are tribal parties. GEJ will win the next election provided there is the likes of Tinubu as a member of the opposition. Middle Belt will go to PDP for they dont trust a northern Muslim president. I am waiting to hear from air heads like "dem dem" and "professor corruption" the voluntarily APC mouth pieces.

Eze Promoe: We're are talking about Northerners owning what's yours, and your problem is Igbos, who are doing their own business. Its things like this that makes me not have pity for the Ijaws. They're so backward in thought. That is why their peeps in Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers are ahead of them in terms of infrastructures while they're still defecating in the creeks, and building houses on sticks.
You chose to be under the Northerners. It's your choice but other well thinking Niger Deltans in Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers have come out to say enough is enough. You can continue hawking fish in Nembe Waterside.

Nwanne, relax he is not from ijaw nation. The ignoramus forgot to carry out research before posting a cheap black mail. He forgot that the term Biafra was coined by an ijaw man that fought under Biafran army. PoliticsRe: Explosions In Borno After Jonathan's Visit by RealMccoy2(m): 4:45am On Mar 09, 2013
Solozzo: Jonathan has shown he wishes toristinflame Nigeria more. He granted amnesty to nigerdelta terrorists, paid them huge sums of money and sent them to overseas for training. Why is he fhreatening BH with punishment? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

It was a missed opportunity for Jonathan to win northern votes : he would have used the opportunity to unite, integrate the nation and show his peaceful nature if he had promised amnesty in exchange for peaceful cooperation from all persons involved in the unrest. BH has virtually conceded defeat.

After all Ojukwu who caused the death of over 2 million Nigerians as a result of the Biafra declaration was granted amnesty -by a northern president incidentally.

Jonathan please review and grant amnesty to BH in the spirit of nationhood and begin the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation. No victor, no vanquished. After all the negligence of govt, poverty and suffering in Nigeria may have led to Islamic terrorism. Why no terrorists in Dubai....
Even Ghadafi an Islamic leader refused to grant terrorist amnesty yet your likes are looking cheap ways to raise more money to bomb innocent civilians.

Its called backstabbing vulture, although not everyone of them are like that. I wouldn't use the few miscreants that rove around different media outlet to defend master Aboki for a cup of cow milk to judge an entire tribe. This concept that there is free money for all to be enjoyed is really astonishing
Please dont engage these guys in any intelligent argument, they are half baked educated and think with one side of their Brain. Go through their post you will notice how they speak with both sides of their mouth. IBB understood them very well and that was why he doubted their generals participating in a coup against Abacha. When it comes to oil, its one Nigeria but when it comes to doing business in the former state capital it's go back to your village even though majority of the lazy scums crying are from Abeokuta and some rocky forest in Ekiti state.

They keep on playing the devil's advocate for little crumb or fake promises given to them. I know there are wise ones amongst them like our great Fela, Soyinka and Gani. Majority of my good friends are from their turf but they are no where close to fulani a.s.s kissers. You may be sharing the same quoran and bear "Alhaji" as core northerners but they wont trust you enough to lead them in friday prayers in Mosque. Southern Sudan was like a dream to the Northern oppressors at first but were speechless when an independent state was declared without a blood shed or resistance. If your people are superior and independent as you all boast about, why not fight for resources control or true federalism? After all Ondo state has oil

Prof Corruption: Eeyah, skewed opinion indeed.
When are you guys taking back Kwara state from Fulanis? Imagine no gun shot heard in your region yet they gave up an entire state to an ethnic group that is miles away from you guys. An emir installed in Kwara state was the greatest insult placed on a tribe. Try that in an Igbo state or anywhere near Niger Delta.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Own 80% Of Oil Blocks - Senator Enang by RealMccoy2(m): 9:43pm On Mar 07, 2013
Prof Corruption: I laughed real hard. I love reading folks like you advising the SW not to play second fiddle. I know how the SE have been playing the "first" fiddle. One can equally see how GEJ made himself president without North's support. If there is any region in a precarious position of losing again and again, look at this Igbo president in 2003, 2007, 2011, and not completely feasible again in 2015. You are playing the "first" fiddle. Bravo
Just last week two of your brothers who are members of Boko Haram were caught conspiring to bomb and assasinate some elites in northern Nigeria, just to sabotage GEJ administration. Few weeks ago, a northern media attack dog who happens to be from SW accused igbos of dominating the military instead of praising the army chief for setting a standard (merit), when super eagles qualified for semi final during the just concluded African cup, your brothers accused Nigerian squad to be igbos only. We know the game your people are trying to play but I just want to inform you that we are light years ahead. If Nigeria erupts don't assume your region will be left off the hook. Obasanjo is a man i respect and i wish SW has more of his kind.
PoliticsRe: Northerners Own 80% Of Oil Blocks - Senator Enang by RealMccoy2(m): 7:25pm On Mar 07, 2013
Prof Corruption: Now you are talking. We won't support GEJ and you are smart enough to why. This is not the time to boast.
Let's see how the election plays out in 2015. Goodluck.
Sometimes I wonder what exactly will be going on in the thoughts of Awo and Abiola in their grave when they weigh the roles been played by their kinsmen right now in Nigerian politics. Do you think my merging with Fulani (APC) a position will be guaranteed for ACN? You need to go back to your drawing board or learn from mistakes made by your past hero. SW will loose again if they decide to play second fiddle.
PoliticsRe: Fashola Destroys Slums In Lagos, Leaving Thousands Homeless by RealMccoy2(m): 12:38pm On Mar 04, 2013
back2sender: Fashola & double standard!!!!!. its only the defenseless he can deal with, what about the menace of area boys having a filled day in the city of lagos, what is he doing about it,NOTHING!!!!!!. come and see the traffic menace caused by them in the morning at Ajah and i thought there was an arrangement in place to call this touts to order? he cannot rein them in but can deal with helpless nigerians and flex his muscle that lagos is working

He instituted toll gate in lekki and where is the development in Lekki despite the amount of tax paid by those who lived in the axis? The development people are seeing in lekki are self made and not by LASG . In my locality (Alaguntan) for you to construct a gutter in front of your building you have to pay the local govt N75,0000,can you imagine !!!!!!!!. you will be levied for a service that they should have provided for you.

I grew up in Maroko and i know what eviction means because i experienced it during the demolition of Maroko on the flimsy reason that the area is prone to erosion while we all know it was as a result of the aftermath of the Orkar coup as the then Military GOVT said the coupist escaped thru Maroko and used the reason of erosion to pull down the structures.

The maroko evictees were resettled in Jakande and Ikota by the Military Govt and thanks to people like The late Gani(May his soul rest in Perfect peace) and Falana who fought for the defenceless at that time. As a result of the location many lives were lost as there was no amenities in the resettled location and i will use this opportunity to say a big thanks to the CATHOLIC CHURCH and BAPTIST who came in to fill in the gap(providing water, healthcare, foods etc). you need to see the condition that people were living during that periond it was a disaster.

it was the movement of the maroko evictees that opened up the axis and people can now know area suck as osapa, chevron, ikota, ajah, badore, sangotedo etc. I gave that little narration for those that just come up here and post without knowing wat it means to experience such.

Compare the IGR and rate of the so called development in lagos, there is a BIG DEFICIT. i know how much i pay as tax in lagos(above 20K) and i provide my own basic amenities in the house(rented apartment) so what am i benefiting from Lagos?

This same Fashola came begging for votes in this area during elections and why didnt he tell them he will destroy badia then? Mine is that development should have a human face.
Some people are very Myopic, they view everything in tribal angle. I would rather see a Fashola free of Tinubu as the president of Nigeria than GEJ but lately his poor decisions are very alarming.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Addresses British Parliament Tomorrow by RealMccoy2(m): 12:33pm On Mar 04, 2013
Billyonaire: Buhari is yet to explain why he overthrew a Democratic Government of Shagari and plunge this country to needless pains. The British amalgamated this country and handed over power to the North, not because they were mode educated, far from it, the West was more educated, but they needed to handover powers to loyalist illiterates and their formula worked. Nigeria has been bastardized by Oil companies and they are looking ahead and seeing that The Present Government will not renew those OPL that keeps them as our parasite. Buhari doesnt need to brush up his accents in an attempt to make his speech understandable, no need, cos what the British simply want is another illiterate who will assume power and renew Oil Licenses. I know many of you will say the topic of the talk is far from what I am saying but I look at the bigger picture. It is time we resist any attempt by the Colonialist Powers that have r/a/p/e/d and bastardized the middle East to come to Nigeria, we are smarter than our founding fathers, we will welcome more of China than the West. They provide guns to rebels and also to respective governments to fight each other while they mine your fields. Anyway, Musiwa, I am enjoying your maps.
I agree with you.

Buhari saw nothing wrong in Abacha during his reign. Abacha Imprisoned Abiola over june 12 election protest. Abiola will turn in his grave when he hears NADECO chieftains like Tinubu are playing second fiddle to those that tormented him and his people. Politics is a game of chess, think before limping if not you and your leaders will cry marginalization again from 2015 to 2019. Middle Belt,South East,South South and Christians in South West will not vote for a man,Islamic Fanatics sees as their messiah.

Truckpusher: i agree with your opinion ,but in a country like ours that has been neglected in terms of infrastructure for far too long, for one to carry-out any meaningful development you'll have to step on toes and unfortunately these slums are standing on the direct line of fire........I'm still optimistic that one day the govt. will do something to cushion the effect of these drastic actions they are taking cos there will never be peace where the gap between the rich and the poor is too obvious .
The problem with Nigerian leaders are preparedness. The very day a Nigerian leader starts using "what if" logic, there will be less crime in major cities. Who ever thought kidnapping will be that rampant in Lagos? What was the alternative solution provided for those Okada riders roaming the street of Lagos as we speak?

Truckpusher: Lagos wasn't meant for everyone ...........it's high time we begin to realize that for any meaningful development to take place lots of sacrifices must be made and of course the poor people will bear the consequences ,they shouldn't murmur but accept it as a part they played in building a better nation for their future generation this is where patriotism comes into play.
New York city is an expensive place yet her government built projects in different borrows to house the poor and low income. Most people clapping for Fashola are doing it out of tribal sentiment forgetting that the people living in those Slums are majority of their own people.
Thanks. I admit the errors in what I wrote, but you should not I am at work, but is being distracted by the hardship in our land and the irresponsibility of our government.

My prayer is that you should document you thoughts and your believe so that one day, when the hardship will hit you; be it by lack of jobs; security or in whatever way, you can realise how you are part of the problem with our country.

Let it be known that refusing to be holistic in solving our collective problem and taking the easy way out in the manners that Fashola is doing will never be a solution. The poor deserve some protection. the government owe them jobs, housing, etc in the same manners it owes us security and infrastructure.

Destroying your poor, sending them to early grave and neglecting them will, never be a way to clean up Lagos. The present approach is like covering a wound. The solution is to clean the wounds and give a comprehensive treatment.

While PDP is not an option, Fashola and his ACN group is making it impossible for our people to see clearly the difference between and Irresponsible gangsters as PDP and what a responsible government can be. To those that know, ACN and PDP are two sides of an evil coin.

God will deliver Nigerians when the appropriate time.
Very Rational thinker. Some of the people praising the displacement of the poor can not afford to pay taxes in lagos. Jakande estate is still standing, why can't Nigeria's present leaders emulate him.
