@Seun: I am not faulting you for posting this topic on your website, garnering traffic is understandable but I would love for you to do away with topics that have something to do with undermining one's tribe or religion. I think you and your moderators are obsessed in seeing anything igbos or Muslims.....just a thought

HealthRe: Was Goldie's Death Caused By A Pulmonary Embolism? by RealMccoy2(m): 11:40am On Feb 15, 2013
Reference: Exactly. Frequent long distance travellers recognise this danger and take aspirin to thin their blood. However it is an addictive drug and dangerous in frequent dosage. But for someone that young there would be other predisposing factors. I can only think of drugs or genetics.
Aspirin can be deadly when you take too much of it. Its advisable to take the "baby aspirin" which has less concentration that the adult.
HealthRe: Was Goldie's Death Caused By A Pulmonary Embolism? by RealMccoy2(m): 11:35am On Feb 15, 2013
lawanson44: Some folks here in Nigeria are blaming doctors for incompetency and other bladadash...Goldie's death was inevitable and there was nothing that the doctors would have done to save her even if it was in America. Goldie died of a medical case called Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT. It usually occurs when there is a blood clot in the deep vein. That is why it is very important not to sit down for too long in a place without stretching and moving about esp in long-distance travels by air.

Most deep vein blood clots occur in the lower leg or thigh. They also can occur in other parts of the body. It can happen to anyone though it is more common in the aged. I guess Goldie was unlucky.

A blood clot in a deep vein can break off and travel through the bloodstream. The loose clot is called an embolus (EM-bo-lus). It can travel to an artery in the lungs and block blood flow. This condition is called pulmonary embolism or PE.

PE is a very serious condition. It can damage the lungs and other organs in the body and cause death.

Blood clots in the thighs are more likely to break off and cause PE than blood clots in the lower legs or other parts of the body. Blood clots also can form in veins closer to the skin's surface. However, these clots won't break off and cause PE.

You can watch an animation of how this happens on http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/dvt/
I hope superstitious simpleton Nigerians will read your thread and understand that not every unavoidable death is conspiracy.
HealthRe: Was Goldie's Death Caused By A Pulmonary Embolism? by RealMccoy2(m): 11:32am On Feb 15, 2013
ItsModella: Noted. I do travel a lot so it's important I know this kind of information.
DVTs is a common death and are caused by long flights. When ever you travel on arriving your destination make sure you stretch your body. I dont know the lady that died but pulmonary embolism most likely killed her.

AjCityOne: You might as well be regarding as one of the smartest people in Nigeria. When I heard the news and the fact that she just got off an air plane. There is only one strong possiblity in the midst of other possiblities for her death and you just pointed that out. Maybe all these other small small pikin go learn from you and think deep and smart about things and not just write rubbish and think its funny.
Those children may end up becoming Nigeria's future leaders, aint that scary? I used to enjoy reading threads on nairaland until children discovered how to use their sisters computer to post stuff on naira land. Thanks for highlighting this pathetic thread going on in nairaland

The OP is not the looser but Nigeria's system of education that continues to produce re.tards that can not read and comprehend. A common saying by white supremacist against ignorant black folks," If you want to hide something from black people keep it in a book.

CultureRe: 7 Facts About The North by RealMccoy2(m): 1:20pm On Feb 09, 2013
AnanseK: I don't know what your seven "facts" are suppose to teach but the two above are false. Zamfara has a substantial and significant indigenous Christian population mainly around Tsafe and Kwatarkwashi. Sokoto has indigenous Christian population. A recently retired federal permanent secretary representing sokoto is a Christian and full Hausa sokoto indigene , all his family and majority in his immediate community are Hausa Christians in sokoto state.
The number (3 ) above is sweeping statement which is careless as you have not done any research on that. The truth is that even at the time of Usman Danfodio 200 years ago there were Muslim Habe non Fulani kings or emirs in the north and subsequently there many. The fact that they were learned in ilsam and sharia and strong disciples of the sultanate does not automatically make them Fulani. Please when writing for public consumption stick to what you know very well. Your very limited education does not stop you from enlightening us , but stay within it's realm.
Thanks for pointing that out. There is a huge gap between north and south and I think not understanding each other is the root of our wahala. If Nigeria should divide, what will be the faith of Christian core northerners?
CultureRe: 7 Facts About The North by RealMccoy2(m): 1:16pm On Feb 09, 2013
lacasa: Proudly Hausa

*Northern Pride*

wink
Most of us down south don't know much about hausa tradition or Northern tribes in general, would you mind creating a thread on the different ethnic groups and their idealogy? I never knew Rev.Father Kukah is from northern Nigeria, I enjoy him speak . Please excuse my ignorance.

shymexx: Nigerians and their sanctimonious stupidity and myopia - what's barbaric with the TIV ruler sharing his wife if that's their traditionhuh Are there not swingers out there in the western world who give their wives and girlfriends to all and sundry for sexhuh And people in open-relationships all over the worldhuh

The same pseudo-modernist clowns slagging the TIV culture are also the fools who think phaggots should be allowed to practice phaggotry - talk about freaking hypocrites!! If that's how they get down in TIV-land - let them be for crying out loud!!!

Topic:

Interesting and educative info. about the North - I don't know why, but Northerners are the coolest people in Nigeria IMO... Big ups to the North!!
Exposed northerners that are free of politics and religion are better friends that most southerners. When it comes to business they are more transparent. I agree with all you just said.

Symphony007: So just because an igbo man is heading the army..the hausa's are making hail and crying "ethic foul"...it is disgusting an embodies pure greed and makes me wonder what makes them think they own this nation. Out of the 15 heads of state we've had nine we're hausa's, since the inception of our fourth republic in 1999, we've had two hausa vice presidents and one president. No admnistration that a muslium have'nt occupied one of the two top position..who complained? Now look at the load of hogwash i'm hearing!!! This country is divided beyond repair!
I was trying to point this injustice out to a southern stooge and he result in insult which is truly a sign of surrendering. The official language of Nigerian custom is hausa or visit NNPC office in Abuja to see for yourself.
PoliticsRe: Retired General, Others Under Watch by RealMccoy2(m): 12:09pm On Feb 09, 2013
KenGali: Can we just agree once and go our separate ways, instead of wasting time agreeing on the quota for presidency, army, customs, WAEC, JAMB, and every other rubbish we can thing of. What a waste of time and resources. Intelligent people would have solved this problem a long time ago, but I guess not black men, especially those negroids of west Africa are Not gifted with such. Something in their genetic make-up.
It's very similar to what happened during slave trade. It actually started with Asians (mongoloids), they killed themselves and died easily in the plantations. With economic loss inflicted on the western farmers, slavery died in Asia. When the whites tried West African Negroids, they where working so hard, proving that black is power. They pleased their masters so much, and added so much economic value that slavery lasted for centuries. Today we are still working hard singing one Nigeria to protect the investments of our masters. What are we getting return, mirrors? The money to go shopping in London, or to have the queen call our names. grin grin
Please stop educating that stooge. He is trying to play mister nice guy to the core north for a "like". He will be the first to sacrifice his own people for a juicy contract if aboki takes over. Kudirat driver did the same, what else is new?
PoliticsRe: Petitions At National Assembly Over Army Promotions by RealMccoy2(m): 11:16am On Feb 02, 2013
nikky5: Something is happening in the Nigerian army which will affect the security of this nation. Why did the soldiers en-route Mali were attacked at Kogi?An insider did that and that insider is a boko haramite in the army.Even in the army religion remains a strong force.Jonathan is aware of any change in the armed forces as commander-in chief and he must append his approval for that change or reform. The reasons for the change are:
1. To break Northern dominance in the Army which is considered as the highest arm of the military.

2. To weed out those Northern officers who may have been on surveillance in respect of the boko haram saga and are found to have direct or indirect link to these terror group. Remember the Jaji church bombing? An insider must be involved.

3.The southern and eastern military dominance will properly checkmate the activities of other northern officers who are still under 'security watch'.

4. To assist the president to consolidate his rulership of the country and prepare the ground for 2015.

I support this trend. If past statistics of military recruitment, postings, promotion retirement in the last 30 years are published the petitioners will cover their faces in shame. If they want to repeat 1966/67, good luck to them. The COAS is a very experienced and versatile officer. The end of terrorism is just around the corner.
Thanks for this write up. Unfortunately our SW neighbors dont see this because of tribalism and envy. Obasanjo should be thanked by his people and other Non islamic Nigerians for sanitizing the Fulani dominated military. There has been divide in the military right from the era of Abacha, it just became obvious during the Jos and Southern Kaduna crisis. Middle Belt military officers are not in good terms with Fulani military officers because of the role they play in religious crisis up north. I just want those yoruba instigators to understand that if it happens they also will have no choice that to be part of what they started. Oil money will be involved and I bet you it wont be funny. Boko Haram got mere IED, we are capable of weapon of mass destruction.

The same envious set of traitors that accused Super eagles in favouring Igbos are same people instigating Fulanis against GEJ/Igbos. When Ojukwu said its in the DNA they accused Ojukwu of not consulting them before defending his people. I wish these ignorant cowards know the power of oil and how far it can reach. Keep your mischievous behavior to your selves and if the push comes to shove dont think your region will be safe from sporadic bombing. Mark my words, there is a reason majority of our youths choose to join the US army. Check the statistics

The lil liver northerner bragging about how they would withstand igbos if trouble ensues should replay the Niger Delta and Nigerian military crisis and tell us whaf happened to the so called Nigeria army? Fulani Tuareg rebel fighters in Mali took off their uniform and the. Intergrate with the general population on hearing the arrival of french troops. Either we live in peace of divide the country peacefully.

baffylander: Whenever i hear cries of 'we were marginalised before, now its our turn to do same', i always smile and narrow it down to inadequate information about the recruitment process of the army and the military at large. The army recruits evenly across all the states of the federation be it other ranks, regular courses, Direct Short Service or Direct Short Service Combatant. What i mean is, if 111 people are to be recruited be it in the officers cadre or other ranks, 3 are chosen from each state across the federation including the FCT. If we are to look at the number of states in the SE (5) compared to the 19 northern states (excluding the FCT oooo) or the 6 states in the South-West, i think it is only obvious these cries of marginalisation by the North is in order.
It is pertinent to note that the army remains one of the uniting institutions and its officers and men are among the most disciplined in the country. This is the reason why the army council and the COAS should not turn a deaf ear to these allegations and internal wranglings. Most insurrections and unrest from the military anywhere in the world had its roots in lack of confidence in the leaderdship (whether such claims were justified or not is a matter for another day) and when same was not treated with dispatch, resulted in unnecessary deaths and chaos.
Just my 2 cents
Nigeria runs a tribal army. Have you forgotten how Abacha and other northern soldiers systematically implicated SW generals in that coup? Have you forgotten how Dumbauzu was disrespecting GEJ because he was not a northerner? Be real with yourself, Nigeria is divided long before 1966 coup
