jyde2014: Thanks;Same applies, you can give her your employment letter or pay advice showing your total pay package to support your statement and if you need to train her on how to respond to these questions it might help too. Since she's had an experience she knows what to expect. But since she works what about her own employment letter and pay advice? I know these embassies r always at the edge when it's some other person sponsoring, it would sound better to say it's being financed by both of you. Just a thought though. |
jyde2014: Na Lagos EmbassyI think the VO was just having a bad day cos he obviously just made up his mind about you and started attacking you. I'm also waiting for my interview early Jan so it's not like i have some experience but from what i can deduce, if you can both get letters of introduction from your employers showing how much you aactually earn; that may establish your financial capacity better than a bank statement . Also iif you can get your story right in terms of why you want to have your baby in the US. From what i gather that high mortality rate thing is now cliche. Be honest about it- you've always wanted to have your baby elsewhere, different experience, opportunity to access best healthcare in the world etc. Hope this helps. |
jyde2014: Gd morn all; This whole thing is just favour o, you say one thing they get you from another angle! Please was this Lagos or Abuja embassy? |
Hello all Need help, I've been to the US a number of times and was pregnant at the time i processed my last visa renewal. I had planned to disclose but wasn't interviewed as I qualified for the drop box route. So I technically just dropped my passport and picked it 2 days after. Do you think I may have an issue at PPE? Or should I go back to the embassy?
You may have issues but simply make proper arrangements i.e have documented evidence of your contact with doctor and hospital which you'll clearly state you're paying out of pocket. If u can also make some commitment in terms of payment and hold enough cash to show at poe if u r questioned. |
Hello ppl, I've also been a silent follower of this thread. Will be due in May 2014 and intend to have my baby in Dallas. I'm having troubles getting a doctor. The ones i got don't correspond via email and will only use fax and with this i can't get evidence of correspondence with the Dr. for my visa interview. Does anyone have a contact for an obstetrician/gynae in Dallas? |
hi jahman pls what sort of questions did they ask for the fiscal responsibility test. I'm writin a test for nysc with the same nexia and i dont know what to prepare for thanks! |
dolyz: alanshore:two newly registered NL members canvassing for the same thing, why am I not surprised?. First of all, poor hygiene in fast food restaurants is no news in Nigeria or abroad. and this your conspiracy theory is totally baseless- how does this relate to the govt trying to meet its 7-point agenda? that's an illogical argument because if the govt wants to earn brownie points with the people there are more important areas such as the Niger Delta, fuel, electricity, roads etc. I also do not think it is the job of NAFDAC to be posting pictures neither do I think the eatery will let journalists in to take pictures so we have no proof. If you say the story is exaggerated I might want to agree with you but it is definitely not false. stories don't just jump out of the sky, there is an iota of truth. So pls go back to your company and work on your hygiene issues instead of wasting time here trying to rebuild an image that you've already tarnished by feeding us with unclean food made from a bath tub . |
damn, not even their eyes, guess u can only tell by their height and body shape. it qualifies as picture of the year |
^^^ their society accepts it so its not a criminal offense. look at Northern Nigeria, I once had a 13yr old hausa neighbour who gave birth, she was married to a man of about 30yrs or so. nothing we can do |
I once watched an episode of Dr Phil where an American mother and her 13 yr old daughter were on the show. The mother is aware that her child is sexually active with her 16yr old boyfriend and she is absolutely fine with it. In fact, she keeps condoms and contraceptives for the girl and allows them to have sex in her house, the girl said she is physically mature enough and she can manage the emotions in the relationship. i was like- that's my little sister that I would spank for not doing the dishes, what the hell?? |
a child impregnates another child, how pathetic, so she started having sex at 10 or less?? what a shame ![]() |
moral of the story- cook and eat in your house, you can never trust fast food outlets. apart from even hygiene, I think Nigerians are beginning to get used to fast food like a lot of other western countries and the result will be catastrophic- obesity and heart problems. I know some women who buy stuff from Mr. Biggs for their children to take to school everyday as "lunch" instead of taking their time to make a sandwich or something for the poor children and every Sunday they must have lunch there with the entire family. The next two generations will have a serious obesity problem in their adulthood. |
skfa1:warn yourself, didn't you use counters (bottle covers) to count in primary school?? I even made an effort to count it twice ![]() |
@posakosa the burger king story is pathetic. that guy jeopardised the health of the public to get some cheap popularity on myspace?? he needs psychiatric examination |

mccloud224:you bought them a pizza in KFC?? and you met Obama?? unbelievable!! you're one lucky fish ![]() posakosa:especially the fat african american ones ![]() |
lol posakosa, very patriotic Nigerian I feel youI agree its not exclusive to Nigeria, I've been to some filthy KFCs and McDs too, their staff hardly clean up cos of the customer traffic. plus I heard KFC chickens are bred in the most unhealthy manner plus they are fed chemicals and they become full grown chickens within a month. however one thing that always calls my attention in terms of hygiene is the appearance of staff. The way some Mr. Biggs staff can look, chei, you will just imagine what they've done to the snacks and food. |
I remember eating at a sweet sensation outlet once and I saw a very big rat run out of their kitchen through the seats. some of their staff just looked at the rat like it was a normal tenant and continued their normal business. seriously, hygiene is something we really need to work on in Nigeria. |
Hey guys, remember mimi the Ghanaian housemate in BBA 2008? well she just released a single titled "tattoo". check it out and give your opinions about her voice and the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk3VNbhfspQ |
why are some people on this thread posting very long replies over and over again? it makes it quite tedious to read, common guys keep it at a reasonable length so we can read ![]() |
Nezan:Prayer is good, no one is disputing that, but of what use is prayer when the people participating in it only do so out of duress or force. Please don't let religion blind you, it is not right to force people to pray let alone suspend or transfer them because they refused to participate in prayers. Its tyranny!! |
Burgers?? lwkmd, genetically modified steak and chicken that make people obese and prone to health problems? lol, burgers in Nigeria are even healthier and tastier. I have eaten Mr. Biggs' burger a couple of times and I prefer it to McDonalds or KFC burgers, the meat tastes better. I think its all just black people mentality, we think anything associated with the white man is better. even when life is hard abroad, we prefer to struggle in a white man's country than in our homeland. its just a black man's mental slavery. |
1. Basic infrastructure is luxury in Nigeria. Even though I'll pay for it through my nose abroad, I'd rather have it available at a high cost and manage my usage than suffer from non-availability. do you know how much an average Nigerian spends on fueling generators, buying water, hiring private security and fixing cars due to bad roads? 2. Corruption- nothing gets done the right way, you either have to pay your way through or know someone; nepotism and God-fatherism is appalling, it makes hard-work and honesty look like rubbish. 3. Education - I detest the state of the tertiary education system Asides these, I love Nigeria, I love being with family & people I share similarities with. I think the cost of living in Nigeria is not so bad and you can survive if you are hard working. I would choose Nigeria over any other country any day. I don't think there's anything outside Nigeria that is so special, its all overrated. you can work hard in Nigeria and afford all the basic infrastructure that seems "luxurious" and go abroad for vacation. |
Nigerians are just extreme with everything. is prayer meeting by force now?? according to which constitution or code? the stupid thing is if the workers decide to sue, the judicial system is just messed up and it will take years to rule on the case. why do we like to impose ourselves on others in this country?? its annoying ![]() |
@abuzola and uplawal I was only saying that if it is not unusual for your biological father to want you to do greater things than him, how much more God in heaven who loves you and wants you to do greater things on earth than what Jesus did if only you have faith. But like I said you cannot understand, you are using human understanding to figure it out, and besides you are Muslims and we believe in two different faiths. P.S. To use such words as pathetic, stupid and CRAP when we are trying to have a civil conversation is the exact thing I was trying to explain to you in the other thread. The more you try to force me or any other person to believe in the Islamic way, the greater the chances of conflict. I am done having this conversation with you guys because I don't want any more insults or heated arguments. Goodnight! |
^^^ why will i refute your statement?? na by force?? let me write it down for you in bold - JESUS CAME TO THE WORLD TO RECONCILE MAN WITH GOD AND HE DIED ON THE CROSS THAT ATONEMENT MAY BE MADE FOR THE SINS OF MAN AND THERE IS NO REFUTING OF THAT FACT. IT WAS GOD'S CHOICE TO SEND JESUS TO DO ALL OF THESE AND I CANNOT QUESTION HIS CHOICES BUT I AM SAVED TODAY BECAUSE OF THIS SACRIFICE. It is beyond human comprehension to understand why God would choose to do it that way but you might as well start questioning everything in this world. Goodnight Abuzola and enjoy your weekend |
uplawal: Abuzola:lol, you guys are so funny, so when your biological father prays for you to be greater than him it is fraud? what that verse means is that you can do anything if you have faith because God will make it happen because you have faith in him. you guys should stop trying to find a common ground for Islam and Christianity, it is not the same thing. |
christ repeatedly tell us in the bible that he can by himself do nothing but with the power of his father. Moses gave life to a lifeless stick by turning it into a snake same way jesus did with the mould of a bird. Are you saying moses is also God based on your standard? All this was done with the power of God. Bible also tells us of meleshezdic, high priest of salem who is without mother or father. Without beginning without end. This is supposed to make him more divine than christ based on your arguement. Yet no divinity is ascribed to this priest. Christ woke up lazarus. Peter also woke up tabitha and paul did the same as recorded in your bible. Does this make them Gods as well? Jesus walked on water. Moses did greater by making an entire sea part way for him jesus ascended to heaven, so did Elijah. Does this make elijah God too? There is no quality of christ that has not been surpassed or paralled by someone else, even as recorded in your bible. it would be irrational to ascribe divinity to him based on these
in John 14:12 Jesus says: "Truly I say to you, He who puts his faith in me will do the very works which I do, and he will do greater things than these, because I am going to my Father". So I think it is in order for Christians to do even much more than what Jesus did, it is a promise Jesus himself made to us. |
@abuzola na u sabi o but I'll tell you something- God does not do his things according to human understanding or common sense. There are so many things that God does in the strangest of ways and it is beyond human comprehension. I believe God could have brought salvation and his gospel to man in several other ways but he chose to reveal himself to use by sending his son in human form for a reason. There are so many things that we can never understand and that's why its called FAITH. So instead of focusing on understanding everything, why not focus on obeying God's commandments and impacting positively on the lives of other people? I think you would find fulfillment in that. |
