. Pls how did you handle the car seat base
Check it in directly to your final destination. You won't need it. What you need is a baby carrier. They'll allow you check in stroller, car seat and base for free....not included in your baby's luggage allowance

Grateful we are in part 5. Let me reproduce my burning issue here for help.
Good day great people of this platform. Please, I need some clarifications on how I can send about $2000 from Nigeria to my DW in the US. DW just put to bed via cesarean section, which we never planned for. She has had two uncomplicated vaginal deliveries in the past, but the doctors over there discovered that the baby was in distress and they had to do the CS. However, to the glory of God Almighty, DW and LO are doing great without any form of complications. I was told to do money gram, but the guy I spoke to about it in the bank wasn't so explicit on the procedures. He also said I can't send up to $2000.
Urgent advice needed please.
Slimwendy85, Dere5 and Shamecurls, thanks for the response. I'm going to ask about the Form A and details of the moneygram ASAP.
Your best bet- Find out if the hospital accepts bank transfers, open a domiciiliary account and wire the funds directly to them. They should get it in 48hrs max. Third party/virtual arrangement is risky cos people can be funny when it comes to money matters.

Very few banks do moneygram and it is limited to less than $1k or so per quarter and subject to availability so that one too is long tin.

Hello my people, For Emirates, I obtained the Doctor's report from a Government hosp, duly signed and stamped and the Fit to fly form on Emirates' website was also completed, signed and stamped by the doctor from the Govt hosp and dated the date of my trip, hope it will suffice? Cos my hosp is asking for 20k for Fit to fly. Thank you
Please which hospital is asking for 20k for fit to fly? Are you sure someone was not trying to play a fast one o you? I didn't pay a dime from mine.

The letter will suffice provided you are not above 36 weeks as at the the departure date of the final leg of your trip. You should make at least 2 copies though cos they may collect it at the point of departure both in nigeria and dubai.

Also try not to be "obviously pregnant" or look helpless at the point of departure. Even if you have a fit to fly if the airline officials have any doubts that you can complete the journey, they can subject you to further checks. Heard someone was returned from dubai because she was very heavy buh I didn't hear the full story sha.

Asides that Emirates is a correct airline and their staff are friendly

Biko do you know any certified birthing centers or hospitals that offer "water birthing" skillfully in nigeria? and With all the necessary arrangements put in place in the event of an emergency. Your friend may think it was just for that reason she was denied but Im almost certain there was more to than just that to it........
Hello people.....just want to give feedback to those considering using a birthing centre based on a recent incident I heard of. Hope this helps you make a wise decision.

A lady paid about $3500 to a birthing center for her delivery. Along the line, there were complications, the midwives could not handle it and she had to be taken to an emergency room and had a CS. Eventually her bill was in excess of $25,000 but thankfully she and her baby are fine.

Now she and her hubby and traumatised by the bill, that's close to N13m.

Please use a doctor and a hospital, they are better equipped to handle emergencies and can better make decisions without necessarily adding to your bill.

Be safe!

Stuff like egusi and dried pepper has to be blended to pass through. I don't know if crayfish is allowed if unblended. Also don't know about iru but I know someone who brings it in all the time but she wraps it so well that even a dog can't sniff it o.
Regardless make sure you declare it. Worst case they'll tell you not to take it in. If you don't declare it, their fine can be up to $300 or so.

Thank you everyone that replied including TripleKMama. I eventually located the place but sadly didn't get after the long wait with my mum. My husband also tried the Asokoro branch with no luck. So many people and they barely gave most.

I really don't know how to send a pm so please can you help us out with Forex? How do I contact you? Thank you.
Don't give up. Go back tomorrow morning. The day I went there I was told that the previous day they only had $20,000 and once they had finished giving it out they stopped for the day. That's like 5 people! So know that its also subject to availability. Go back early in the morning and as much as I hate to say this- take advantage of your preggy status. Form making enquiry and talk to one of those ladies in charge. They were really nice to me and didn't delay me at all. All the best!

This address is the former bank phb inside orji uzor kalu house near NERC but I'm not sure anything is happening there. I got my travelex from skye bank gimbiya Street.

You'll also need your bvn. Go with your bvn card or the phone registered with the bank you did your bvn because they'll request you use the *565*0# service in front of them so they're sure it's your bvn.

And try to go with cash. Those who transferred had a long wait as travelex said they'd have to confirm receipt before they can do anything. They don't have POS either.

Lol. Aunty No time to focus on reading all your moniker posts like you look forward to reading mine. Like you know my travel history abi,or I asked you how to go about getting a visa. My only inquiry was about water births. And it was a ver straightforward simple question.Biko if you don't have helpful info, free me. And sharing a bad or good experience of mine is by choice not by force. I was in plain simple communication here when you decided to get rude. Just keep moving abeg if youve chosen to rather be rude than helpful.
You and nefertiti should please chill. This thread has survived 4 parts for over 4 years or so because people speak openly and helpfully. We know most people on this thread are pregnant with raging hormones but pls let's play nice and not get confrontational. I dont think any of you wanted to be rude. Thanks.

Sorry guess I mixed it up with Arik. British airways will fly up to 36 weeks with singleton pregnancy and up to 32 weeks for multiple pregnancy.

I'm sure about their policy however what you cannot rule out is that the airline official checking you in may not notice you're pregnant. I once flew lufthansa heavily pregnant and they did not notice I was pregnant and never asked for my fit to fly. Did you give them a fit to fly letter staking clearly that you were 35 weeks gone when you were boarding?

You should count yourself lucky you were not spotted. BA can be very strict.

Some people may find this old UK border force video very helpful

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9pAdig-oJI

Watch from 37mins
The pig farmer was obviously lying. Even if all the circumstances he portrayed were true, the arrest fingerprints couldn't have been a lie.

The pregnant woman was ill-informed. She wouldnt have had a problem if she had acquainted herself with the airline policy on flying pregnant women. British airways does not fly after 32 weeks. She's already 33 weeks and she bought a ticket for return at 37 weeks. Obviously they cannot fly you. She obviously had an intention to deceive and it became a hopeless case the moment Sarah contacted US embassy with her details.

Or maybe she'd have been denied entry at POE anyway and this was God's way of saving her the trouble.

Hope people will learn!

Point is that baby mama just feels her kids have been cheated out of daddy's loving arms and can't deal with it

South Africa will drown in its ignorance in a few decades. Even white south Africans are leaving the country for UK Europe and US. It's only a matter of time cos without the whites and the rest of Africa they're just a bunch of lazy, myopic and ignorant people.

In the mean time, let's boycott BBA and all those other SA shows...let the rest of Africa refuse to particpate. we cant keep acting like all is well. This black on black hate has been going on for years now and their government is not doing enough...it keeps getting bloodier every year it happens....

And to the Naija peeps in SA, if you survive this episode start making arrangements to come back....cos it will happen again and again and their government does not care!

You may not agree with the Federal Character but that someone from a different state scored less than you doesn't make him/her less competent. As long as the person meets the minimum requirement he is qualified and should be given a fair opportunity.
I am from the North, I don't know how high I ranked compared to my colleagues in the 2007 recruitment. But during our training, The person that was fired for poor performance was from the South and the that was fired (My batch) for forgery was from the South also. When I started working, some of the best Engineers in my department were from the North (they probably wouldn't have gotten in without the Federal character). We have different academic backgrounds but intelligence is what you make of your brains.
Well, there are two sides to your argument, not every southerner is intelligent and not all northerners have that education gap- by the way this gap is fast closing in!

However, I am compelled to agree with @lastpage, this federal character issue encourages mediocrity and does not push the "disadvantaged" ones to be better. As long as this factor is there the public/civil service will remain how it is. With the economic downturn and crashing oil prices, govt mdas need to start thinking efficiency. Also, this federal character factor is expensive because a job one person would have done you'd have to employ 2 persons because the disadvantaged person who was employed is unable to cope. It is a very terrible dilemma we have found ourselves in and we just have to live with it.

My wife was denied at the embassy this morning without any reason. None of our documents were checked, just the normal template of refusal was given to her.....
Maybe the baby wants to be born in Nigeria......
Anyway, will give it one final shot, and if God says yes, then so be it.....
So sorry Jdye2014 but something is amiss. If she had an interview and they didn't check docs then she must have said something that made the VO make up his mind that he won't give irrespective off any documentation. Did she say how the conversation went? or could the previous VO have stated a case of misconduct against her as he threatened that last time?

Yvete: Hello everyone. Visitor's visa are usually granted on what basis? I'd love to invite my preggy cousin in Nigeria to have her baby in Houston. Did you interview before you got pregnant or at the early stage of your pregnancy (she's a couple weeks pregnant)? Did you come in for a conference, vacation or medical checkup? I'm inviting her for a baby dedication as a godmother at baptism. grin Is it good enough and can anyone help with a better idea? Seems like El Paso is popular on this thread.
visa type is b1/b2. If she's going to have her baby in the usa asides attending the baptism, it is important for her to declare her full intention at the embassy and also prove she's made plans to pay out of pocket for her medical expenses etc and that she has no intention to access medicaid or other privileges for non citizens. Pls read the thread pages from the beginning for any other info. But key thing is to be honest.
