Recognise:seriously, I read that story and I was disgusted. Some men are just animals, how do you have sex with a 12yr old she's not even physically mature. If not because of customary laws and religion, such people should be tried and jailed for child abuse. In northern nigeria all these girls have VVF because they are not physically mature and they just start smelling and the same men leave them diseased and get new brides, its simply barbarism!!back to the main story- did the doctor/maiden honestly think she could have the child in a natural way?? honestly, people have become so animalistic in the name of religion and culture that they've lost all humaneness and if the UN talks about it they'll say its a war against Islam, what a shame!!! |
MrCrackles:yes he did! btw, I thought this thread would be on the 10th page now, I've been so bored on NL and this just caught my attention. @abuzola why are you letting people talk to you like this, you must defend yourself o!, I want to hear your side of the story before I vote ![]() |
datingscop:I see a lot of people putting their private information on blogs like this and it beats my imagination how people can be so careless not just with their own info but even other people's info (their referees). How in the world do you think posting your info here will make anyone employ you? this is the internet and every tom, dick and kamoru will access your info easily. now you and your innocent referees will start receiving fraudulent calls and e-mails, good luck to you sha!!! |

boring thread, very boring |
it was actually the australian media that released it, I think the SA community is pissed off, that personal stuff! |
kofi nti:we're talking about someone assaulting somebody else and you're talking about ghana being better, you've really derailed. over the last few months, a number of ghanaians have shown the depth of your prejudice and hatred towards nigeria (I'm yet to understand why ). why do you always feel the need to condemn us so as to make yourselves feel better? a lot of ghanaians have lived in nigeria in the past and even now we accept and live with them peacefully, all of a sudden you guys are trying so hard to gain popularity at our expense? and you say we are envious? lol, very very funny ![]() obama came to ghana and did not visit nigeria, so what? obama and europe endorsed your country, so what? how has it added to your treasury? pls stick to the thread's topic and stop whining like a baby ![]() |
na the way for nigeria be that. people think because they're the bosses they can do whatever they like, no respect for other humans, couldnt there have been an ideal way to deal with him for any misconduct or incompetence?. its unfortunate people like the security man don't know their rights and our judiciary is corrupt and slow otherwise he would have made a fortune out of this case. |
hmmm, interesting, it appears the original sanusi plan is now being unveiled, lets see how far it goes. however, if not for anything, at least effort was made to get back bad loans. |
asha 80:I take my post back, they aren't hating. all the ministers are just ignorant with very little knowledge of things beyond nigerian borders, and so are the Ghanaian posters. Nigerian public office holders need to be taught some diplomatic manners, their comments make me sick! |
let them continue to drink panadol over our headache. when people take their time to talk and write negative posts about others, it only means they're hating. we have problems and we know, but how is it their problem now, did we ask them for help? this same people flooded nigeria in the past, now we're bastards? what haters! |
sending them away from nigeria does not solve any problem. at least they stopped the ad, that says a lot. however, dora akunyili has a lot of work to do regarding scams and fraud, they should first give all internet companies an ultimatum to get all IP addresses registered and linked to a traceable address or person, all cell phones using the internet service should be registered too. get softwares to trace scam letters, put an effective and well-equipped anti-fraud/scam agency in place and then work with the senate to pass and Act to allow for stiff punishments for fraudsters/scammers and their accomplices - I think a 20yr sentence sounds good afterall some countries like Libya kill such people. If we had a good national identification system, it would have helped but what a shame, they made a mess of it. I believe this is the way forward but our problems are just too many! |
congrats to them, winnergal please post pictures of their wedding |
yoruba:thank you for your unsolicited info. and how does it relate to the issue? i doubt if you even tried to make sense out of my comment, I wonder why people won't just comment without feeling the need to argue with someone. did i say they didn't do any movies on their social ills? did i dispute anything about nigerians selling drugs in SA? pls help me understand how what you're saying relates to my comment. |
anonimi:I don't, and why do you seem to think I know such people? because I said international media are bias towards third world countries? abeg find someone else to direct your suggestions to and read the thread again to understand what I was saying |
Kobojunkie:It seems you are just reading portions of my posts and picking on things you want to believe I am insinuating. I am not blaming them for our bad image neither am I denying that we have major corruption and criminal issues in Nigeria, I am just saying that they exaggerate negative stories from third world countries like Nigeria while they understate their own social and moral ills. one example is the Iraqi war, when CNN was reporting on the Iraqi war, most of the emphasis was on american/british soldiers injured by insurgents' bombings, they never reported the several stories on the injured and killed civilians especially women and children that american missiles killed. P.S. I watch CNN, good night. |
kobojunkie & mr. crackles no need to go back and forth arguing on this. there are lots of scammers in Nigeria and our govt is not doing enough- I'm not denying these. what i am just trying to say is that most foreign media exaggerate our negative sides but when they have problems they "edit" it so as not to look too bad. |
Kobojunkie:CNN is soooooo American and I wasn't comparing nigerian and american banks, I was just pointing out what would most likely happened if they were Nigerian banks. |
there is nothing I can do about it, the govt. just needs to put stiffer measures in place to trail and punish scammers. that being said, i think the whole Nigerian scam thing is now being blown out of proportion, not all scammers are Nigerians, in fact the top dogs in scamming are Americans but then it goes back to the point I was trying to make in my first post, the American media will do anything to protect America's image and make others look really bad by exaggerating stuff. |
we won't hear much noise about this one on CNN now but if it was nigeria, then the headline will be "NIGERIAN SCAM BANKS CLOSED". |
@abuzola oya talk, how do you want the church to support her? by giving her the tithes and offerings of other people to settle her gbese? if she made an immense contribution to the church, I don't think its the church's fault, it was her choice and the church cannot refuse it because there's no evidence that the money is stolen, they cant tell what money in the offering is good or bad and they don't document tithe and offering, so I don't think the church is obliged to do anything. as a matter of fact, the church would be reinforcing bad behavior if they get involved. |
He fought a good fight and even though we are yet to get there as a country, the legacy he left behind has brought hope to us all. may his soul rest in peace. |
agreed, we as a society have encouraged corruption by worshiping people with money without asking questions and the govt has failed by not putting stiff measures in place to manage piracy and other corrupt practices but it still does not justify Sony's attack on the entire country, that advert is portraying all Nigerians, including all of you commenting on this thread, as criminals. |
so what are they still doing in Nigeria if we are all pirates? they insult us and still have offices in our country. we know there are scammers and pirates in Nigeria and the whole world knows but we don't need corporate entities echoing it through adverts. its unfortunate that we Nigerians ourselves have accepted the overrated bad image we've been given that we no longer see anything wrong in people portraying us all as scammers, pirates and corrupt people in movies and adverts, what a pity! we don't even know all these negative publicity in the media is doubling the effect, I doubt it if in the next three generations a Nigerian will be able to walk the streets of london without being seen as a criminal. |
xgee:thanks for your help xgee, so whats in it for you?, you seem really concerned that people aren't taking your post seriously, lol ![]() |
it depends on you, there are about 15 major universities in SA, with University of cape town, university of Pretoria and university of kwazulu-natal topping the lot, but they are more expensive than the others. with SSCE, they would most likely not take you directly into 1st year, they'll probably take you into a pre-degree year first cos they always want A-levels. UCT will cost you about R100,000 per annum while the others you'll pay about R80,000 tuition fees only, accommodation, books and feeding exclusive. In the other schools like university of Witwatersrand, nelson mandela met. university, university of Johannesburg, you'll be paying like R60,000. exchange rate should be like R1 to N15 now. all you need to do is to go on the university's website, look for international office or international students, you'll find e-mail contacts there, then tell them what you want to do, they'll handle it for you, I know individual departments don't handle admissions for international students. tell them to also give you estimates of costs for next year. you may find this site useful - http://www.southafrica.info/about/education/universities.htm take care. |
so what the hell is sony still doing in Nigeria? if it unprofitable for them, they should leave, abeg no be by force, and for that stupid district 9 movie, I was just going to watch it in the movies, thank God I didn't waste my money, why am I not surprised, south africans are just a bunch of xenophobic people who think they are better than every other country in africa, they have the worst social ills but no one sees it- the rape, drugs, incest, racism, but no one ever condemns them. |
Racism is every where even in Nigeria.
really? lol , so who are the blacks and who are the whites in Nigeria? lwkmd |
well I don't know how to pass info on to the senate but I'm aware different committees manage different issues in the senate. you could however write a lto the punch, thisday letter columns, these politicians read all these papers too. |
damola1:I think someone in the senate can call for a motion to boycott Sony products based on their criminal profiling of Nigeria, afterall we have nothing to lose, its not like we export anything serious except crude oil and they can't survive without our oil! but I don't think the senate would be bothered anyway, I'm sure they already know. |
damola1:word! I wish our govt. would just open their eyes and capitalise on the power we have as Africa's leading consumers. |
