CrimeRe: Son of new Ambassador to the US,Prof Tunde Adeniran charged wit rape in Maryland by Rebarobyn: 9:59pm On Aug 26, 2009
Afaukwu:
This is not an ordinary Nigerian. This man is the face of Nigeria in the most powerful country on earth. Seeing him there any further implies seeing the face of rape, for anyone who visits the embassy and who is aware of the son's case.
that's not fair judgment after all he didn't rape the WOMEN, are fathers now living with the sins of their sons?
CrimeRe: Son of new Ambassador to the US,Prof Tunde Adeniran charged wit rape in Maryland by Rebarobyn: 9:17pm On Aug 26, 2009
don't think this story is true, those women are lying, most white people are opportunists and would do anything to threaten a lawsuit and claim huge amounts in settlement. what kind of women would be asking for a free ride any way, and they say they're WOMEN? these are experienced liars seeking for whom to devour, its unfortunate the stupid boys fell for it. really who wants to gang-rape in a place like Maryland and would allow themselves to be easily identified? his father can't be blamed for his actions, teenagers can be very stupid and naive.

Sanitizing the banking industry is good but its also funny how this woman is going down alone cos last I heard, loans aren't approved by CEOs 99% of the time, neither are books cooked by CEOs.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Celebrate Birthdays? by Rebarobyn: 9:00pm On Aug 26, 2009
Banderas:
This is damn funny.

The bible didn't instruct you to breathe, yet still you do.

Pagans also pray, and probably did before the advent of christianity. Will you then stop?

I haven't seen instruction in the bible or quoran that it's okay to drive a car. Or drink water from the fridge. Or use any form of technology (including the PC). These discoveries were to a large extent made by pagans. Hahaha. The PC is pagan, log off at once. The internet is pagan also

This thread confirms it - religion is BACKWARD.
true talk, funny how people assume everything has to be backed by some scripture. that's what differentiates a fanatic from a normal human, they probe into things so much that they lose the basis of their initial question. The more you look the less you see
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Celebrate Birthdays? by Rebarobyn: 4:26pm On Aug 24, 2009
Comingo:
did Christ tell us to celebrate our "date of birth" and his also?
did Christ tell you to get internet and join Nairaland? if no, then your question has no basis. Not everything we do in life has its basis in the bible, what matters is your relationship with God and fellow humans. This is how fanaticism starts o!

If truly sunday is the righful day of xtain worship then u are to suppose it with the bible.
Is everything you do as a Muslim supported by the Quran?, If no then this your statement has no basis. The bible is a guide for us as Christians, it doesn't give us a hard and fast rule for every single thing we do, more often than not the emphasis is on a personal relationship with God.
Christianity EtcRe: Worshipping On The Wrong Day Of The Week (Sunday) : by Rebarobyn: 3:27pm On Aug 24, 2009
the bible does not say Sunday or any other day, what matters is that people come together and worship God at an agreed time. why is the day of worship is even an issue? there is a very thin line between being a true worshiper and being doctrinal and most people don't know when they cross that line because of their self-righteousness. Asking questions and trying to find answers for everything is good but too much of it just kills your faith.
PoliticsRe: Ibru And Akingbola On The Run, Declared Wanted By EFCC by Rebarobyn: 3:09pm On Aug 24, 2009
Though I'm not sure of Sanusi's real intentions, I'm happy with what he did. We need to get used to doing things the right way. For decades now, politicians and wealthy people in Nigeria do unimaginable things and get away with it, no one can question them let alone arrest them or declare them wanted. This is the beginning of a new dawn in Nigeria and if we can follow it through we'll have the Nigeria we've always wanted. Its not just the banking sector, even public/govt., lets rid Nigeria of oppression and corruption!
RomanceRe: Nothing by Rebarobyn: 9:11pm On Aug 23, 2009
way forward- cut off all contacts with your "best friend" and try to focus on your marriage and what you love about your husband, spend more time with him, with time you'll get over your best friend. No need running away from a problem, face it and conquer it, lets be truthful, temptations like this happen in marriages no matter how much you love your partner you'll come across someone you are attracted to someday but it all depends on your will power and how much you are willing to make your marriage work. a successful marriage doesn't just fall from heaven, you need to make it work. don't give in to lust, discipline your mind!

I've never been there but I also heard their medical schools are very good plus they are stable academically. Why don't you check the website of the school you are going there, they usually have estimates of costs. its better you contact the schools directly, its not advisable to make plans based on what any random person says. best of luck smiley

Why can't people just select one thing:registry, traditional or white and go for honeymoon and home and relax?? Is it hard, allow society people to be doing their thing. You know and hear the sound of their weddings and I don't hear the sound of divorce. If you don't belong, don't get urself hurt.
are you scared of spending? grin
EventsRe: Describe Your Dream Wedding by Rebarobyn: 4:46pm On Aug 22, 2009
I want an average but classy wedding by a pool side between 100-150 people, I want a buffet for my guests. I don't want a bridal train, just my bridesmaid and the best man, may be a few friends will buy aso-ebi or may be I'll just choose color codes for them. but I want my honeymoon to be a life-time memory, maybe Mauritius or the Seychelles, a honeymoon suite by the beach during summer/spring, OMG, can't wait smiley

Abuzola:
@last poster: the purdah or burqah is worn by non muslim to conceal their faces from people who know them.

True talk, we have few muslim that are not practising muslim hence dressing imprudently. Did you read the op post and see christian going to church in nudity i.e indecent mode ? No muslim woman will ever go to mosque with indecent mode of dressing. If the christian can go to church nakedly then what will deter them from refraining it in public ? Nothing
well whether public or in church/mosque, I believe people should be modest but you sef the way you attack Christians, I've seen a lot of your threads and I get really angry but I know there is a part of you that can still have conversations amicably with people. You should try and respect people's religions and not get uncivil in threads, just as it seems "impossible" for you to accept the christian faith and beliefs, Christians feel the same way too about Islam and its nothing personal, its just the way faith works- you have to believe strongly in it. abuzola if can you just try and not get abusive and generalizing on Christians, its okay to have your opinions and say it but don't bad-mouth the other person. This world will be much better if we start embracing mutual respect from forums like this. smiley

so I started chewing my cheque books. I ate 8 before they pulled me over. They read me my rights and all that crap and all I could say was "OGA, water please!"
grin grin grin[/quote]lmao, very funny, you should write a book titled "the life and times of a Nigerian hustler in the UK"

btw, what happened after the arrest, did they deport you? did you cry on the plane? lol, please conclude this super-story I'm so loving it!

God is great. The right religion is distinct from err

@op- if you are in lagos then i will say to you there is more you haven't seen about the christian dress, have you been to unilag and see unclothedness, net dress that is opaque,  anytime i board a commuter bus i always see bottock when the female passenger wearing trouser wants to alight, by God i have seen numerous naked bottock in the process, it pains me, women lack shame.
sorry abuzola can I ask you a question? is it everyone that is out there showing their bum in the bus that is a christian? not all non-Muslims are Christians and not all those who go to church are Christians. I know a lot of Muslims who dress wild and it is very unfair that you would want to attribute promiscuity to Christians, I even know a number of Muslims who cover their faces in purdah but they commit adultery and fornication especially the men. If you go to wuse zone 4 at night you will see Muslim ladies who are prostitutes all covered up waiting for customers to pick them up, but it doesn't mean all Muslims who are in purdah are hypocrites, that would be foolish thinking.

I have since learnt that when 9ja people are praising you just watch your back because it would be very short-lived, the same people will crucify you twice as much as they praised you.

I already knew this, but I still go to church on sunday. To me it makes no difference. It's not all Christians that go to church on Sunday. Catholics go to mass on saturday or sunday.
when I read the original post, I just laughed, Christ freed us from all of these laws and we still put ourselves back into the same bondage. Is it the day that matters or true worship? why don't we focus on the grain instead of the chaff?

yes I concur, you have no right to stay illegally in another country.

well its true, serious loss can lead to suicide but then you can't compare it with boko haram, these ones are outright killings, not that i support the illegal things some nigerians do out there anyway.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Immigration Deports Boko Haram Members by Rebarobyn: 11:24pm On Aug 19, 2009
can you imagine these illegals whom we have given shelter and economic livelihood killing our own people? this is exactly the case of America, they open their arms to the whole world, these people even get education in the US and then they turn around to bomb and kill innocent citizens and tax payers. I think our immigration rules should be stricter, not every neighboring nation should be allowed uncontrolled access into our borders, bloody ingrates!
