olabowale:not all non-Muslims are Christians and this is a major misconception amongst a lot of Muslims. If someone is not a Muslim he is automatically a christian. There are lots of people who are not Christians i.e Buddhists, Hindus, traditionalists and there are also a lot of people who go to church that are not Christians, Christianity is not about going to church, its about having a relationship with God. So next time you read crime stories in the papers and they say the criminal is named Peter, it doesn't necessarily mean he is automatically a Christian. olabowale:It is not just Christianity but societal values. In most societies, including Nigeria, it is believed that children under certain ages are generally not mature enough for sex or marriage especially because they are not mentally mature enough to make decisions for themselves and so men who sleep with these children are generally seen as pedophiles because these children generally do not have a choice in these matters and are mostly forced into the marriage and sexual relationship (the child doesn't say no because she doesn't have a choice). I understand people from Northern Nigeria have a different perspective on this and I think even Nigeria as a country respects their culture and that's why the law does not charge men from that part of the country to court for rape or molestation when they sleep with their 8yr old brides. But still some of us are from different societies with different values and this makes us think differently and its okay for us to voice our opinions, you also have a right to your own opinions/beliefs. olabowale:Anyone can do good whether muslim, christian or even pagan. I don't think it has anything to do with religion, it is your inner self and what good is in your heart as a person. This good can come from what you've learnt as a christian/muslim/pagan but it has nothing to do with religion, it is what is in you as an individual. olabowale: Abuzola:we Christians believe in the trinity and we also believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus who is the son of God, in fact, this is the basis of our faith as Christians. But I still don't understand why it bothers you guys so much that you will leave your own faith and make out time to criticize christians. Christianity and Islam are not the same so we don't believe the same thing. you cannot urge Christians to change their belief systems to the Islamic way, it just can't work and the more you try the more conflict you create. so why don't we all focus on our different faiths? |
why are you people just drinking panadol over other people's headache?? why cant you face your own religion and let others face theirs? I hardly hear you guys even preach the quran or the Islamic way. all you do is research on Christianity and condemn Christians. why do you have to make others look bad in order for you to look good? its beginning to look like a self-esteem/ego problem to me because I don't understand you guys and your obsession with Christianity. |
so why give christian issues so much attention? never say never o! |
lol abuzola but you know this thread is not about my pidgin hausa, it is about your love for Jesus and Christianity |
so wilywily all of a sudden you are preaching now?? when did this turn to a matter of Jesus or God or Heaven?? you this hypocrite, you claim you are a christian yet your hatred and prejudice towards your fellow Nigerians is second to none. please renew and liberate your own mind before you talk about salvation to others. |
Abuzola:abuzola now you're confusing me, what has this quran verse got to do with the topic? ka na de barchi ne? |
POSAKOSA1:sorry my bad- guess it was my oversight ![]() |
^^^^^ angry very funny, I think the word you're looking for is AMUSED cos I'm quite amused and embarrassed at your analysis considering the fact that you're supposed to be educated and exposed ![]() |
Abuzola: ![]() |
WilyWily:pls read ur post again and digest it, you should cover your ignorant face in shame |
price? |
OP pls which zone and street is this house and whats your asking price? |
@abuzola you are so in love with Christianity that 90% of your posts are always questions and allegations on Christianity and the bible or Jesus and his apostles. I think its a good start, when you eventually get converted we will welcome you with open arms and joy. |
so what should Nigerians say when they're asked where Nigeria is?
I think we should ignore them. westerners are the most ignorant and uninformed people. we Africans make all the effort to learn their languages, history, culture and geography and some of them still think Africa is one country and we walk around naked living in trees, it really irritates me. |
many people have died in this country and nothing came out of it. when they die people make noise and after a while people move on. my point is there are many ways you can impact positively on the state of Nigeria without dying. A less radical approach will move us forward, though it may be slow but we'll make progress in due time. we cannot deny the fact that corruption in Nigeria has reduced from what it used to be 10yrs ago when people stole and collected bribes without hiding it. at least now people are making effort to hide their crimes and EFCC is arresting and prosecuting high profile citizens, I think this is peaceful progress and I'd rather have that slow progress than see Nigeria in a state of anarchy!! |
^^^^^^^ yes we notice they are all yorubas but it doesn't mean yorubas are the only ones committing fraud or any other crime in Nigeria as portrayed by wilywily becos of his prejudice. CRIME is the issue here and not ETHNIC GROUPING |
I say we start from the grassroots! from the villages and the families where rich sons and daughters are treated with respect irrespective of where they got their money, if people's mindsets dont change we cannot so much about corrupt leaders because it all starts from there! I also think Nigeria has made some progress in terms of corruption from the military days, its not like we've been stagnant, I think its progressive and we'll get there. All these banking saga and investigations etc, nothing like that even 5-10yrs ago so the civilised approach works but its slow, a radical move will work faster but it will cost lives and we don't want Nigeria in anarchy especially with all these religious and tribal tensions, there are two sides to everything |
@rethink I want change in Nigeria and I want things to be done properly and honestly, but you see corruption is not just about our leaders, it has eaten deep into our society. we as a people need to change. An average Nigerian would rather sulk up to the rich rather than say the truth and you know why? its because if you decide to fight you are on your own, our society needs change, we are in bondage we worship money and we revere rich people without questioning their sources of their money, that is the source of our problems. so the million dollar question- are u willing and ready to lead the "militant few"? |
there is no need to pick up on anybody here, everyone has got an opinion whether constructive or destructive which i believe is with the aim of providing possible solutions to problems in our respective societies,
|
I think I understand your point on the voicing out part, Nigerians need to be more vocal and question our leaders. However, when people say that these bank executives have created jobs and diverse opportunities in our economy I think what they are implying is that sanusi should be more sensitive in managing the crisis so as not to ruin the entire banking industry which would eventually lead to serious job losses and totally cripple the stock market. Also, you cannot compare USA to Nigeria. USA is more developed and they have a long standing democratic system that has zero tolerance for corruption, the "American freedom of speech" thing is for real and people can say how they feel and not get victimized. you cannot say the same for Nigeria. If you stand up to fight today you will just become a sacrificial lamb, kudirat abiola, bola ige and even MKO himself will testify. I mean if it was that simple I think even you would have organized a protest but societies differ. |
seriously I dont know who john doe is and its not a crime to ask if u dont know something, so u guys can tell me after having a good laugh, ok? |
if she didn't sleep with a black man then this is really weird, but I guess nothing is impossible if black people can have albinos |
@wilywily I know for sure that most people who are tribalistic are intimidated by the tribes they have prejudices towards and they have some self-esteem issues to deal with and this is evident in your posts. so its okay for you to have personal prejudices towards the yorubas or any other tribe and they will keep progressing and moving forward while you are there whining about a few yorubas reported in the press as fraudsters. goodluck to you fyi, I dont understand what you imply by grow down (if there is anything like that) seems like high school talk to me, lol ![]() |
who is john doe? pls tell us any movie he acted in, let me go and rent it and see the face of the deportee ![]() |
though these people jeopardized the industry we cannot ignore the fact that the banking industry is what it it today because of these new generation banks. they have created employment for several nigerians and they have spread their tentacles all over africa and even in the Uk- which other african banks have actually done all of these without partnering with foreign banks? the executives should be punished for their wrong-doing but sanusi should not kill the banking industry along with them with all his gra-gra and insensitivity creating panic all over the country. |
toideve:reminds me of isi-ewu, very nice peppersoup |
nonsense, people are not just deported for nothing, he probably went somewhere he wasn't supposed to go to shoot video scenes or he assaulted someone or something. when they commit crimes and they are caught they quickly turn it into movies nonsense people |
sweetheart money makes the world go round, money makes people attractive even when they are ugly, that's life, I mean look at bianca and ojukwu, there's a lot of them so its just life, |
mirababy haba now why u come dey vex now? na crime for rich person to marry rich person? |
honeymoon is compulsory o, all these our stingy men who don't want to spend. ladies if u don't do it after ur wedding u will never do it again especially after kids, u don't av to go to some expensive place or outside the country but u need some alone time away from your normal environment after the wedding stress, so guys if u don't have honeymoon money then maybe u arent financially ready to get married but don't deprive us of the fun |
this guy is trying to get the Nigerian community angry at the bank executives so that he can push for stiffer punishments for them. I understand his move to sanitize the banking industry but he is going overboard. the stock market relies solely on the faith of buyers in order for it to survive and this guy is killing the Nigerian stock market with his very reckless statements. many people have already started investing their money in foreign stock markets because of his insensitivity. this man is killing the non-oil industries that are supporting our economy. |
very funny, I think the word you're looking for is AMUSED
