PoliticsRe: Early Votes: Jonathan Or Ribadu (Poll) by rebranded(m): 5:17pm On Sep 21, 2010
Well said Madejibo, maybe Nigeria will be first in Africa to have a "young" President

Looks to me Ribadu is leading the Polls so far cheesy

Jonathan has shown us it is business as usual, high spender and imitation of the US govt but over a country where 70% live below the poverty level, If he was focusing more on corruption and development he would have had my support
PoliticsRe: Early Votes: Jonathan Or Ribadu (Poll) by rebranded(m): 11:26pm On Sep 20, 2010
Its going to be Ribadu and will shock the whole of Nigeria

Just waiting to see who Ribadu will choose as his running mate, Fashola wont be a bad choice
PoliticsBreaking News: Ribadu To Run For Presidency On Acn's Platform by rebranded(op): 4:42pm On Sep 20, 2010
Nuhu Ribadu, the former Chairman of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, has declared that he will contest for president on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria.

Mr Ribadu stated this today at his campaign office in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. He also announced that he will register with the ACN in his ward at Yola, the Adamawa State capital, "once the Action Congress of Nigeria begins official registrations of new members next week." NEXT had exclusively reported, in July, that Mr Ribadu was likely to emerge the candidate of the ACN.

The party's national convention, to select its candidates for the various political offices ahead of the 2011 elections, is expected to commence next month. Mr Ribadu recently returned to the country from a self-imposed exile following his dismissal from the Nigerian Police Force, and arraignment before the Code of Tribunal for not declaring his assets while he was the chairman of the anti-corruption agency. The case has since being discontinued by the federal government; and the Police Force has also reversed his dismissal to retirement.

mikeansy:
I am not suprised by this at all, it should have happened earlier. The Presidency should have asked him to resign since as he had Presidential ambition and working with other candidates to scuttle Jonathan's re-election. The office of NSA is too sensitive for non-loyalists to occupy and why Jonathan left it this late is another question mark on his judgement.

See my previous post 2 days ago on this issue.

PoliticsBreaking News: Minister of Special Duties - Remi Babalola Resigns by rebranded(op): 8:01pm On Sep 16, 2010
The minister of special duties, Remi Babalola, has resigned his appointment from the federal cabinet, on health grounds.

Mr Babalola was recently redeployed to the Ministry of Special Duties, following his outburst which claimed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) was bankrupt. A statement by the federal government immediately denied this through the Minister of Finance, Olusegun Agaga, 24 hours later.

Goodluck Jonathan, in response to Mr Babalola’s letter of resignation, wished him “full recovery and a speedy return to an active life”, a statement from the Special Adviser to the President read.

Mr Babalola has held sway in the Ministry of Finance since July 2007 when he was appointed by the late President, Umaru Yar’Adua. A banker until his appointment, Mr Babalola was an Executive Director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, in charge of Lagos and West business, as well as consumer banking and electronic payments.

PoliticsRe: And Jonathan Declares For Presidency On Facebook by rebranded(m): 12:13pm On Sep 16, 2010
My team and I made no promises on adequate fuel supply in Nigeria. We simply did what was expected of those who govern, we delivered it, and you are living witnesses to that. We made no promise to revamp the textile industry. We delivered a bailout package worth 150 billion naira that is being dispensed as I write. We made no promises of securing the highest U.S Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aviation clearance, the Category 1 Certificate which enables Nigerian registered airlines to fly to ANY U.S city. We delivered. We made no promise to give Nigeria a brand new INEC under a proven God-fearing and incorruptible leader. We placed Nigeria first and delivered. We made no promises of protecting your loans, deposits and investments in the banking industry over and beyond what is covered under the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Scheme. We delivered it via AMCON

Are those favors or responsibility of the Government!, why is this guy trying to score cheap scores with their responsibilities, are you saying what Governments should deliver is only what they state when campaigning, RUBBISH!
Like if they didnt do any of the things he is stating Nigeria will be governable

PoliticsOtedola Goes On Exile by rebranded(op): 12:45am On Aug 21, 2010
The crisis rocking the oil marketing firm, Africa Petroleum (AP), has led to the self exile of its chairman, Femi Otedola, NEXT has learnt.

Mr. Otedola, whose company, Zenon Petroleum and Gas limited, is the major investor in AP, is currently in England to avoid another attempt on his life. This is according to a senior official of AP who spoke to NEXT on condition of anonymity.

The businessman, who was named by Forbes magazine as being among the world’s richest billionaires last year, first alleged threat to his life when an elevator in his company’s headquarters malfunctioned mid-way with him in it.

The management of AP reported the incident to the police alleging sabotage with fingers pointed towards another senior official of the company Clement Aviomoh, who is the executive director, finance and information technology.

Mr. Aviomoh, in a press statement, however denied any involvement in the incident explaining that the incident was caused by the actions of Mr. Otedola.

“On the 5th of July 2010, there was a scheduled board meeting of AP Plc; the chairman stormed the venue with 150 armed mobile police men. He entered the lift with too many security operatives thereby overloading the lift. Thereafter the lift got stuck and we got a report from CFAO and the maintenance engineer that clearly stated that there was no foul play,” Mr. Aviomoh stated.

Our source, however, said the police have concluded a forensic examination of the lift and it is clear that it was tampered with. According to the source the police will soon make public their findings and also effect the arrest of those implicated in the plot.

I heard that AC would form a coalition with APGA with Ribadu running for President and Peter Obi as VP.
Would be a nice combination though.
Ribadu/Obi
I dont know Peter Obi's track record, but i feel to win southern states fashola is the best man to deliver it, even though Niger Delta region will vote for GEJ, fashola can still deliver the western region. This kind of opportunity does not come often, the opposition parties should be wise and come together and put Ribadu/Fashola forward, and maybe it will be their time.

ribadu can only win by rigging. The south would not vote for ribadu. is tinubu or fashola still running in AC.? it is just a question.??
Fashola will be Ribadu's running mate, so definitely he will win south also, and north wants to retain power so will vote him, this is a chance for AC to takeover power from PDP. PDP has gone against the zoning in their constitution and given a good chance to other parties to present a northerner, north will do everything to have another 4yrs. Ribadu can give AC the presidency
