Anyone that can clear away all those corrupt guys working in INEC apart from Iwu |
Obasanjo's outfit has nothing to do with a man wearing an Ugly hat and a Lace to go meet a Foreign President. . . At least, Obasanjo's outfit symbolizes one of many Nigerian Culture. . . What does Jonathan Goodluck's outfit represent? Nothing. And look at the way he sits down, spreading his legs apart on the ground. . . Compare his sitting position to that of Obama's, I mean on the second picture. . .the one where the journalists are surrounding them. It's simple and official, Jonathan Goodluck hasn't got what it takes to be President. A president should have style and Class and Jonathan Goodluck doesn't possess any of those qualities.
Why are you showing your ignorance about your country to the whole world, that attire is Ijaw's people native dress, just like obasanjo's agbada is yoruba cultures. Dont just open your mouth and talk ![]() |
@mikensy My interpretation of that is INEC policies are capable of producing a free and fair election, fortunately he mentioned that the society will be happy with the people chosen, which i believe doesnt include Iwu! I guess its all a matter of time, but GJ will disappoint a lot of people if he retains Iwu |
This is one thing i am really looking forward to ![]() |
Acting President Goodluck Jonathan has made his intention clear on restructuring the nation’s electoral body. He made this known today in Washington, stating that he would not hesitate to inject “fresh blood” into the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure credible elections in 2011. Mr. Jonathan gave the assurance while responding to questions during a breakfast meeting organised by the Council on Foreign Relations. He noted that by June this year, a majority of the agency’s commissioners, including the current chairman, Maurice Iwu, would have completed their tenure in office. Calls for the removal of the INEC boss have intensified in the last three years over the 2007 elections that were declared flawed by local and international observers. It’s psychological The Nigerian leader noted that the tenures of most of the electoral officers have rounded off. According to him, “at the national level, most of the officers have completed their tenure and some will complete theirs in a couple of months. So we are going to review them individually and the ones we feel are not good enough to be re-appointed, we will not reappoint them.” He added that: “we will inject fresh blood and make sure that we bring people that if we mention their names, people in the civil society will be happy.” Mr. Jonathan said the matter of INEC’s competence is also one of perception. “If people have a perception that a body cannot do what is right, even if they do what is right, people find it difficult to believe,” he said. “The story of INEC comes with the feeling that it cannot conduct credible elections in Nigeria, but that is psychological like I said it has to do with perception.” The acting president, who is attending the U.S President’s Nuclear Security Summit, however insisted that INEC, as presently constituted, could conduct credible elections. He noted that INEC had demonstrated its ability to conduct credible elections in the recent past, citing the elections in Edo and Anambra as well as the April 10 polls in the Federal Capital Territory . OVERTURES by the Action Congress (AC) to present the former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, as its presidential standard bearer for the 2011 general elections hit the rock last week when the Minna general rejected the offer. A source in the uphill residence of the former leader told Saturday Tribune on Friday that a five-man team led by the former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, visited General Babangida to offer him the presidential ticket of their party. According to the source, the AC emissaries told the retired general that the party was prepared to concede the ticket of the party to him for next year’s presidential election, with Tinubu as his running mate. But the former military leader, who recently said that he would not disclose his ambition until a nationwide consultation with his supporters and other stakeholders was concluded, declined the offer. General Babangida, it was learnt further, told his guests that as a loyal Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member, he was not prepared to leave the party, but preferred to actualise his political ambition in the party. While rejecting the offer, the source, who was at the meeting, said, “General Babangida, in his usual characteristic manner, listened attentively to the offer by the AC, but told them that he would rather remain a floor member of the PDP than to be the presidential candidate of the party.” The source added that Babangida’s position was based on the recent endorsement of his presidential ambition by some key figures of the PDP, which included the chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, as well as the international support being extended to his presidential ambition. In another development, a United Kingdom-based pro-democracy group, The Nigeria Project, has concluded plans to immortalise the late first lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Maryam Babangida, at an international lecture to hold in London at the end of the month. I dont see Jonathan staying the whole 3days, plus its obvious God is with Jonathan, and hes put in place people like danjuma and co to look after his back. If we have 5yrs of Jonathan kind of leadership i see everyone running back home! |
He thinks he will get the ticket for 2011, he forgot IBB too is getting ready to fight for the same PDP ticket He just crashed his political career by returning to PDP, the man is power hungry! |
what if Jonathan has no plan of running 2011 ![]() your analysis is purely based on speculations |
Ex-governors are no longer relevant! case closed! |
PapaBrowne:Yea sanusi will not be allowed to run around like a mad dog again plus his islamic banking dream will be put on hold |
Fhemmmy:Why? He knows Dora is not as innocent as people think plus if you understand what is happening in the oil &gas sector you will know power in nigeria is experiencing shortage of gas |
one of the reasons is cause we dont have enough gas. Niger delta militants have been blowing up gas pipe lines, however im still possible GJ will turn things around in that sector. |
Jonathan will make sure they work, he has told them their job is to implement the budget no stories, no waste of time on fruitless researches I like the part he said: 18. In the comforts of our offices let us not forget that majority of our people live below the poverty line and that many of the things we take for granted are in fact the long unfulfilled dreams of many of our country men, women and children. There is therefore an urgency here that must not escape our attention. Alot of our leaders dont think that way, i have a feeling life is about to be better in Nigeria |
mikeansy:Eyah, so you didnt understand what he was saying here, centrifugal force prevents an object from reaching the center of the body its revolving around, in lame man words he is saying he will not allow anyone to work against the administration objectives Hope that helps you!, you might need a dictionary next time he talks |
Watch 6months from now Nigeria will have steady power! ![]() |
seyenko:Because they took them as artifacts not to worship, it could not have ANY effect Mind you Obasanjo brought in gods from all over to be celebrated in Nigeria, @OP you are right, thats when Nigeria's problems started apart from the fact that we have always had problem with who will lead the country |
Not a bad idea becommrich Odua city |
Its time we begin to work 24hrs, all Ministries and Ministers must work 24hrs we have a lot of catching up to do! ![]() |
Definately if there is steady power i will return to Nigeria I believe steady power will increase safety, infact will trigger everything else |
006:The Norths will immediately remove him, but as far as its one Nigeria, hes fit to run it, crazy people |
Yea a lot of speculations out there, lets see few hours more! |
