With the look of things Goodluck Jonathan is receiving wide acceptance and i'm seeing a situation where come 2011 he might be running for President of The FRN! Would you support Jonathan continuing in office come 2011 ![]() |
@Ikengawo, None of those accomplishment was initiated by the present administration, Yar'adull just wasted 3yrs for 150m people, some of what you listed was initiated by Obasanjo, while others by Governor's that are not under PDP. I agree with the OP and hopefully GJ helps turn things around! |
We love life in Nigeria and they can never pass such a bill, even if 90% of our budget is embezzled |
mikeansy:Ottawa has lost faith in Nigeria! |
unfortunately that list doesnt make sense to me, Sahara just wants to report something, i can also guess what portfolio goes to who |
becommrich, Do u know that corruption is like a disease that spreads, if 25% are corrupt it doesnt mean the remaining cant be corrupted also. even small kids in Nigeria now are showing traits showing accepatance of corruption. Now i dont agree maps can help reduce corruption, we need laws such as capital punishment for corrupt officers before we can eliminate it |
@ Otawa, calm down let him first get rid of Ibori and those ex-ministers that cleared the accounts when Yar'adua was away One thing that bothers me is after 2011 will Ribadu have to leave the country again, cos they might be after him again once GJ is out |
Nuhu Ribadu, the former chief of Nigeria's anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has accepted an offer from Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, to be his special adviser on anti-corruption, good governance and sundry matters. Presidency sources said at the weekend that Mr. Ribadu is expected to resume "in a matter of weeks" in Abuja. As part of his remit, Mr. Ribadu will be the presidential anchorman supervising the broad anti-corruption platform of the country which includes his former agency, the EFCC; the ICPC; the Code of Conduct Bureau and other related agencies. He's back Mr. Ribadu confirmed this in a telephone interview with NEXT at the weekend. "Frankly I don't want to be drawn into any political discussion," he said. "But let me say it is true that I have been contacted. I also think it is only honest to say that Acting President Jonathan appears to have a keen understanding of the cogent priorities facing our nation which is currently teetering on the brink of disaster. It is probably right to also say he is taking the right steps on those critical priorities. For this reason, I believe it is the moral duty of Nigerians to support all efforts to save our country." The Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has warned the Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Ghadafi, against what he termed undiplomatic utterances on Nigeria, just as he received the President of Liberia, Mrs Elleen Johnson Sirleaf, on a mission to facilitate a rapprochement between the two countries. The Liberian leader was at the State House in Abuja, on Wednesday, with two special envoys from the Libyan leader for a meeting with the acting president for the purpose of establishing a rapport between the countries following recent negative pronouncements by Ghadafi on the unity of Nigeria. The envoys dispatched by Ghadafi included the Secretary General of World Islamic Call Society, based in Tripoli, Mr. Muhammed A. Sherif and Mr. Rafa Al-Madani, the Executive Secretary, Forum for Arab-African, a non-governmental organisation, also based in Tripoli and three Libyan Embassy staff in Nigeria. The Special Assistant to the acting president on media, Mr. Ima Niboro, who spoke with State House correspondents after the meeting, said Dr. Jonathan “made it abundantly clear that all leaders should be diplomatic in their comments about other nations.” According to him, the acting president made the Libyan leader to understand that “there are certain kind of statements that you can make that can substantially ruffle feathers in other nations. So, he actually said that there should be an effort from all other leaders to be a little circumspect over the affairs of other nations.” While responding to a question on whether Ghadafi regretted his utterances, the spokesman noted that they were in the country to talk about the issues saying “it is a process that continues. These are extensive diplomatic matters and it t is not a one day thing. They are here to talk about the matter. It is not a one off thing.” He remarked that the process initiated by the Liberian leader was to reinstate African unity, pull them together as brothers and to move ahead, revealing that such meetings would continue between the two countries until they were able to resolve all issues Source: http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/3445-jonathan-warns-ghadafi-against-unguarded-utterances-liberian-leader-arrives-to-broke-peace.html |

After all we have the population abi ?[/quote]@hatch pls start a poll lets see how many people are interested and we kick off with the people on board! |
He needs to apologise, his statement can fuel new tension in a country that might have just adverted a major political crisis ![]() |
Fhemmmy:So who will he hand over to Senate President? ![]() He cant go anywhere if he doesnt want to lose power b4 he is back |
I think its a brilliant idea im in, instead of people thinking it wont work, why not get serious and lets give it a try we cant keep coming online just to rant and not try and change things |
i'm watching this on tv now, our senators look like jokers! |
ola olabiy:At least you understand what shes trying to say @OP, Lets start looking for solution, not constant listing corrupt people here and there, they are shameless and dont care! |
I would sign a bill that all elected officers use public amenities with their immediate family Adopt capital punishment for corrupt officers along with setting up special courts for their trial |
Sun of god:Yea except that im not calling for Nigeria to split like you and a confirmed mad man ![]() |
SANUSI - 5 Banks sold to foreign investors and 2 to Islamic Organisations - June 2010 |
Omolulu:Shows you havent been following my posts before commenting, like i said earlier our internal problems have not been known to other African countries until recently. pls go back and read up Unfortunately you are talking like someone accessing Nigeria from within and not considering the international relevance of the country within Africa |
Sun of god:Whats your definition of sanity, Ghadafi is sane right? i leave you to rethink what you just said about sharia if the whole north wants to adopt it thats their problem and if the constitution allows it, even in the US, State laws are different |
Thanks Nex, Nigerias dont try to get facts before they conclude on things, sad! |
Omolulu:@Omolulu, pls how many Africans have u had discussions with concerning Africa, and how many African countries have you visited, we are talking facts here dont come with speculations ![]() |
Sun of god:Laughing stock, yeah, since yar'adull got there, like it or not during obasanjo's time Nigeria was VERY respected |
