I felt discouraged and did not do farming last year. But this year, I want to give it a shot again, this time around, I will supervise closely and not just put money in anyone's hand
It is better to monitor your farm yourself. You don't plant crops via someone else. It always ends badly. Cheers.

If you have unused plots of land, do some farming on them. Subsistence farming is a form of exercise. Rain has started falling. Find an aboki that can make mounds for you. Plant maize, cassava, pepper and vegetables. You can make money with a plot of Cassava and Maize. Get very good seeds. Cheers .
FoodRe: Locally-produced Foods Now More Expensive Than Imported Ones by Redman44(m): 1:29pm On Apr 13, 2024
One mango is now 100 naira. Should it be so? Fruits are getting more expensive. Please, plant friots in your house. As you are building your house, don't cement the floor of the compound . Plant Pawpaw, Banana, Mangoes , Oranges in your compound. Seedlings don't cost much. When the trees mature, you can make money every season on each fruit by selling to people in church and in your area .Think deeply. Plant sweet guava, tangerine etc. Fruits will keep getting expensive. Cheers.

....do you remember our group in Tokyo,if no,it was Usa,Japan, France....what was their position at the Olympics 1st,2nd,3rd respectively. If we were in another group we probably might have made it out, also put into context madness going in our camp(players trying switch few weeks to Olympics). So if we had it that hard with those calibre of players we took to the Olympics, imagine what it will be with this squad. You had faith in a squad that you have not seen play and you believed we should just have faith, despite not knowing most of the players few days to the competition. I am sorry,I do not have such faith..Seeing is believing for me,no blind faith..Until I see you play few games...
I looked at the last Dtigress squad at the Afrobasket 2023 and read up on all the new players. I knew Tomi , okoro, Ejiofor and the others would deliver the trophy alongside Pallas and Co. I knew the African opposition won't stop those ladies. I was proved right. As long as the likes of Adeyeye , Ejiofor etc keep getting international experience , they would get better with time. It is good to infuse new players to beef up a squad. It should be noted that Erica Ogwumike did not gell into that squad at the Olympics in Japan . She should have been left to face her medical studies. You guys have dropped a lot of names here and I am studying those players. When I conclude my reading up on them, I will say what I think about their inclusion into Dtigress squad.

...You can camp for a very long time, provided you do not camp talented players,it is almost a waist fo time. Nigeria is to talented for us to present this squad for olympics. I expect to see new talented players or part of the old squad. If we go to the Olympics with this squad,do not expect to win a match as this is not Afrobasket. We need a real guard, our guard plays from Afrobasket to OQT was really weak. We need post players too...
We had the former Dtigress squad ( Ezinne, Elonu, Ibekwe, Macaulay etc ) at the last Olympics in Tokyo. What did we achieve there? We did not win any game at that Olympics, did we? We went with a better squad to the last Olympics , did we medal? Capital NO. Before last year's Afro basket, some of you condemned the team and reeled out stats to defend your rubbishing of the Ogoke led ladies, didn't you? I was about the only person here who believed in the squad and said the ladies would win. And they won under Coach Rena. I have said the current Dtigress Squad is not good enough and I have called for injection of new players. I am not Kida's brother or family member. Don't take things personal. Cheers.

I don't work for the NBBF. Please don't accuse me falsely. What I am saying is that Kida has his good side too just like everyone. DTigers were still a force to be reckoned with in 2019. I did not know Coach Mike Brown was working for free. And I have said it in this thread and on X that Brown should be sacked as he does not have what it takes to lead Dtigers to glory. Yes, things have gone wrong but we should also consider that Kida has formidable opponents in the basketball establishment in Nigeria who are making things hard for him. Some people in the NBBF still see him as a usurper on the throne. Anyways, things will change when a better President is voted in to lead the NBBF.
PoliticsRe: Pan-yoruba Urges Southwest Nigerian State Governors To Establish O’odua Airlines by Redman44(m): 11:44am On Apr 04, 2024
No, not Airports. We need investment in mechanized farming in Oodua states. Let the Governors invest in agriculture massively. Let the south west states plant maize, millet and Guinea Corn in large tonnage farms. Cheers.
SportsRe: Nigeria Basketball Thread! by Redman44(m): 4:31am On Apr 04, 2024
My own suggestions: Coach Rena should make use of tips and advice from Otis Hughley. She should solicit for support off court from Coach Otis. 2. Rena should talk to Dtigress players like Ezinne Kalu and Victoria Macaulay and coax them to return to camp. Elonu should be in retirement mode now .No time for quarrels and hatred now. 3. NBBF should call and invite Hakeem Olajuwon to visit the ladies in camp and teach them one or two things about winning a championship .Otis did this with Guthrie ( former USA ladies basketball great / legend ) at the last Olympics. We have Olajuwon .He is ours .Why not tap into his knowledge of winning NBA titles ? An average team can spring surprises if properly motivated .4. Let the camp be thrown open and all the names being mentioned on this thread be invited. Cheers.

Team USA who are miles ahead of us I'm everything just opened camp yesterday. I mean the best team in the world has started training already, yet the NBBF is no where to be seen.
Yes, we don't have a basketball program like the USA and other advanced countries. However, I think we should open camp for Dtigress as soon as possible. The current players we have cannot medal at the Olympics. We need a very tough camping process to come up with a crack team for the Olympics. Players like Adebola Adeyeye, Blessing Ejiofor,Ifunnanya Okoro etc have not been drilled enough by enough friendly games. Coach Rena has to be given all the support she needs to open camp before the end of the month in the USA. The camping for the FIBA Women's 2018 World Cup organized by Coach Otis Hughley threw up many new players for Nigeria as the camp was thrown open. Within a month, Otis Hughley assembled a squad that got to the quarterfinals of women's 2018 basketball world Cup. As long as gifted players attend the camping, we can come up with a team that can compete and medal at the Olympics.

...Same here,Kidas tenure is arguably the worst in the history of Nigerian basketball. It was filled with drama left right and center. From the men and women senior national team to the junior national team. Remember the U-16 saga, the kids qualified for the U16 Afrobasket but the federation did not let attend due to funds, dashing those young kids dreams and possible live changing opportunities. It was even rumoured that the reason the kids did not attend the U16 competition is that the went to press and told press that they were only paid 1k for their zonal qualifiers for Afrobasket propers. Remember how some of the players that played the Olympic qualifyiers (Men)were also stranded In Nigeria after the qualifiers. Look at the mess they have made the Men's senior national team, same with the women... instead of the senior women's team to be upgrading,we are downgrading talent wise...it is well..
Musa Kida should not be blamed for what is wrong with Nigerian basketball at the moment. Kida was self funding many of Dtigress and DTigers camps and tournaments in 2017 up till around 2020. He would fund these engagements and seek refunds from the government .Kida grew tired of not getting refunds quickly over the years. Also, Kida has been having a running battle concerning his leadership with a formidable opponent and his minions who are planted in the NBBF and the Sports Ministry. Remember all the court cases etc. All these are distractions for him. He has tried a lot though. We had a good run at the 2018 womens basketball world Cup and our men's team was solid from 2017 to 2019 thereabout. Our ladies have been African champions since 2017- All under Kida's administration. I beg you, be fair with Musa Kida. NBBF needs more funding from the government. Cheers.

I watched the Nigeria vs Belgium game at the Olympics Qualifiers last month in Antwerp, Belgium. We have a lot of work to do if we want to medal in the female basketball event of this year's Olympics. Coach Rena needs to sit down with the former Dtigress players who have not teamed up with the current squad. She needs all the best hands she can get to build a great squad for Paris 2024. Rena needs to consult with former coach of the team, Otis Hughley. The team that lost to Belgium needs the infusion of 5 very good players if we want to make make an impact at the Olympics .
SportsRe: 'It Has Been A Privilege': Peseiro Announces He Is Leaving The Super Eagles Job by Redman44(m): 1:11am On Mar 02, 2024
We don't need local coaches now. We won't qualify for the World Cup in 2026 with a local Coach. Let us look for a Coach that has at least won the league in any part of Europe or South America. I am thinking we should focus on South America this time around . Nigeria has never had a world class coach, so we don't need a high profile coach to do well . Let us get a coach that has won the Europa Cup or Copa Libertadores in South America. There are a good number of these Coaches around looking for a job. Cheers.
SportsRe: Who Should Be The New Super Eagles Coach After Poseiro? by Redman44(m): 1:02am On Mar 02, 2024
We should not go for local coaches for now. Our current crop of players in the Super Eagles squad will not respect a local coach . The local coach won't have much authority over them . A foreign coach will have no qualms enforcing his rules on the team. Eguavoen can remain as the Technical Director of the team. A role should be found for Amuneke. I believe Amuneke should be given the u-23 job or the flying eagles job. Better Still, Amuneke should replace Finidi in the Super Eagles set up. I think we should go for a foreign coach once more. A good but not too popular foreign coach who has won the Europa Cup or South American club championship cup ( Copa libertadores etc ). So we need a very good but low cost European Coach or South American Coach. We have had a South American Coach ( Brazilian ) in the past . I think his name was Father Tiko or something. Let the NFF cast their nets wider into South America and Latin Europe. Cheers.

SportsRe: AFCON: The final was our worst game, the home support penalised us - Peseiro by Redman44(m): 11:49am On Mar 01, 2024
We had a good crop of players at the AFCON. That ivory coast team was not better than our team from keeper to attackers. We had no business losing to ivory coast in that final match. Peseiro did his best but he cannot take the team to the World Cup. We need a better Coach who knows how to get the best out of his players .The NFF should release Peseiro. Cheers.
SportsRe: AFCON: The final was our worst game, the home support penalised us - Peseiro by Redman44(m): 11:34am On Mar 01, 2024
Ivorians are known to be fetish when it comes to soccer .How come the Eagles played their worst match in the final game against the Ivorians? We should have prayed well before the game and cancelled all spiritual negativity against Nigeria on that pitch and in that stadium. The Ivorian team was not that good . They used home advantage all through the tournament. Then our midfield was very bad. We need new attacking midfielders for the super eagles going forwArd.

Babangidapikin:
Snack Production: Manufacture local snacks or specialty snacks, such as plantain chips, chin-chin, or popcorn.
Spice and Seasoning Packaging: Package and sell locally sourced spices and seasonings.
Furniture Production: Craft and manufacture wooden furniture items.
Natural Skincare Products: Create and sell natural skincare products using locally sourced ingredients.
One of the best ideas so far is the one above. However, you need to find a way to source the raw materials cheaply. You need intelligence to succeed in the snacks business. Cheers.
