lovewins:@ lovewins, how many of these ladies come home to Nigeria on holidays? Are they passionate about representing Nigeria? Yes, we can use them but we should look at our local talents in Nigeria, polish them up and send them to the USA, Europe etc for maximum exposure. |
Biodun556:Check Jiji then. You can get what you want there. Cheers. |
Biodun556:Check Jiji or you go to the North yourself and ask around the villages there. Thanks. |
I had to go and monitor the guard on my site and ensure he waters the fruit crops I planted there. I instructed him to give each plant at least 2-3 medium cups of water daily until the rains resume falling. I went there yesterday and we both watered the fruit crops. There is nothing like rain o. Rain has carbons and other nutrients in it that helps plants grow quickly. Please, try and water plants in your garden daily. God will bring back the rains soon. Amen . |
lovewins:We just seem to have bad leadership at many levels of governance and administration in Nigeria. Can't the NBBF look for sponsors like BUA Industries, Dangote Industries, Globacom etc and work with them to develop basketball in Nigeria? How much will it cost to construct basketball courts in public secondary schools in Nigeria? Great sponsors can pay for these basketball courts and release money to organize basketball Competitions at Secondary School level all over the country on a termly basis. Same for our universities and polytechnics. We can have a true and well funded Collegiate basketball league at different levels in Nigeria. Then talents will be fished out and supported to go and study in America ( Home of Basketball ) , Australia, Europe and Canada to sharpen their skills and get the exposure they need. From there, they can sign for clubs in these developed nations. We need a great PLAN. |
carbonado:Kiki Iriafen and Michaela have to really show interest in suiting up for Dtigress. If not, they can be overlooked and opportunities given to others. Both of them are already behaving like the Ogwumike Sisters who ended up not going to the Olympics in American Colours. We want players who really want to play for Nigeria. Look at Murjanatu and Ifunanya Okoro. The two of them moved from Nigerias local league to Europe. And they are blossoming. Pallas also moved from Abuja to the USA. Evelyn Akhator also moved from Nigeria to the USA. We need to start identifying the best players in our local leagues, invest in them and give them scholarships to American Colleges and Schools, Canadian Universities etc where they can improve their basketball talent by playing Collegiate basketball and then join clubs in these countries. We need a great PLAN. Thanks. |

BItt:I am worried too. The rain has not fallen for over 3 weeks at Ikorodu now. I am just watering the crops I planted in my compound with water from the borehole. Hopefully, the rains will resume soon. |
I am still available to teach in your School by September 2024. Call/WhatsApp me on 07049598500. Thanks. |
The weeding and thinning of this Dtigress squad should start immediately. We should retain some players and drop some players who are not at their best. We need to start preparing for the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup qualification games and the World Cup itself. Coach Rena has done very well to be retained. She is a good Coach and Manager of talent. Going forward, we must start recruiting the best players available for selection. This means we cannot focus on the USA Collegiate system alone. We have to look at players with Nigerian heritage in the European basketball circuit as well. NBBF has to improve it's scouting ability to spot new talent going forward. More importantly, our home based players should be taken into a program where the best of them are ferried to Europe and North America to gain experience playing for club sides and university teams there. NBBF has to do better. Cheers. |
lovewins:I thought we would win the 2nd Quarter. We ended up allowing the USA to come back into the game. Well, we have two quarters left to fight back. |
Hmn. I don't know what to say. We have allowed the Americans pull away with a 17 point lead. Sad. We initially limited the USA to a 6 point lead at a period in the game. |
koxyz:Ok, thanks. I appreciate. |
I am thinking of exploring the web for remote jobs once again. I have not really succeeded at it. I want to go into Freelance Writing and Editing. Cheers. |

koxyz:Where is owo idi-roko specifically? Which State? Thanks. |
JohnBullMySon:The Americans are still heavily reliant on some of their veterans like Taurasi, the one that was arrested in Russia etc. Yes, they are skillful than Dtigress but we can pull an upset. I know I sound foolish, but Kalu and Amukamara can inspire our ladies to a shock victory. Remember Nigeria vs Brazil in the football event of Atlanta 96? No one gave us a chance on that day against Brazil. We were 1-3 down until Kanu and Ikpeba showed their class. Coach Rena can make another tactical plan against the USA. God is good. |
Call or Whatsapp me on 07049598500. This is a lovely popcorn machine at a bargain price. Thanks. |

Danielnino00:It will be hotly contested by Dtigress. Our ladies played the USA not too long ago. I have faith that we shall win. |
PDPGuy:Seems you have given up against USA. I know our chances of beating the Americans are very slim, but anything can happen. |
UrgentNeeds:Thanks, a lot. |
Going forward, anything can happen now. We are at the knockout stage. Upsets will be recorded from now on. If we meet the USA, we should give them a tough game. Anything can happen, Say What, Say What . |
[quote author=daveP post=131325911]imagine bringing the South sudan vibes to USA game. 😂😂😂 Making the Lebrons and Currys to quake in fear till the last 3seconds of the game to finally get a winner(their game months ago) I just realized two ex-Tigresses (were guards during their playing days) are part of the coaching staff led by Rena Wakama. Juli and Aisha[/quote Yes, Aisha Balarabe ( Nee Mohammed ) was at the 2018 FIBA World Cup as a player for Nigeria, under Coach Otis Hughley. Julia Negodu played as a Dtigress for Nigeria around the early to mid 2000s. I think she ( Aisha Balarabe) played the qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics. Cheers. |
lovewins:I said it that Dtigress will beat some big teams at this year's Olympics. I was probably one of two analysts here that believed in our ladies. Thank God, I have been proved right. I have been vindicated. Cheers. |
PDPGuy:Amen. |
