Mcjimmy:If that acceptance covers only up to winter 2015, then you will have to reapply for another admission. But you need to contact the school to know what exactly works in your case because I am only suggesting that based on a similar personal experience. They still had all the supporting files (transcripts and test scores) I used to apply so all I had to do was to fill a fresh app and pay another app fee. |
olamonsor2:Lol. It's not a "plenty-good-news" day today and we ran about 5 pages. If you are sure of what you're saying, then I guess u mean your bro's medical call will come tomorrow. I pray so too sha. The faster the processes, the better. I bliv my medicall will def come b4 part 7 tho. Amen |
effectplus:I don't think so. Study permit holders can book one way tickets. It's TRV holders with business and/or pleasure motives that should get return tickets. Meanwhile, the airline has no problem selling one way tickets to anybody, it's only Immigration that checks business/pleasure travellers' itinerary at departure to ensure arrangements on when to leave the country have been made. Students can fly one-way. |
jojcanada:Oh yeah! You women sure don't know how to travel light and u def don't even wanna learn how to either, lol. Whatever the case, if you are doing the one way to NY, try to book your outbound ticket to Canada b4 you leave naija cos I heard that with a visiting visa to US, immigration at MMA need to see proof that you will leave US after some time... just advising that you shouldn't leave your Canada flight booking till when you get to yankee |
jojcanada:That's whassup! Having a US visa just makes the travel cost like half. U can book a one - way flight to NY with arik (if u don't hate them), probably chill in yankee for some time and then you can even continue to Tdot with a Greyhound Bus. Congrats dear. |
Estien:Play with this link first... and determine if you are really ready http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study.asp |
Estien:Yeah. And as for the multiple start dates, bear in mind that schools that offer that privilege will want you to indicate which of the start dates you prefer to join. So if you select winter, you should ensure it's clear in your visa application that you are going for winter. In fact, let me give you a personal story to explain things. I had the privilege of multiple start dates to choose from also; FALL 2014 and WINTER 2015. On the offer, I was given a deadline to fill (and indicate preferred semester) and scan back an offer acceptance form that was enclosed in the offer. I filled it, chose FALL, scanned and emailed it back... then few days after, I received an email stating that I was welcome to register into the Fall semester. Unfortunately, visa wasn't approved and because I knew there was really nothing I could do at the time to improve my chances so as to re-apply quickly, I decided to just email my school explaining that my Visa wasn't approved and that I was sure I wanted the winter 2015 semester instead. That's when I now got another email, this time, inviting me to register in the Winter semester. I now included it in my visa application docs just for the VO to understand that I am applying for winter semester this time around. Also, in your study permit app form, you will have to indicate the start date (and end date) of your program. All this long story is just to make you understand that your visa application is not going to be considered for all the start dates on your offer letter so if the timing goes off for the winter application, I doubt (but I'm not totally sure) that your application will be automatically considered for the fall semester. Really hope you get my point cos this took me some time to draft, lol. All the best |
Estien:Depends on how lucky you're feeling about it. Noone can really say... If you submit online tonight or first thing tomorrow and they don't come thru with the TRV approval in 8 wks; b4 the start of the school semester (which is averagely enough time to process online submissions these days), you really can't put it against them. Why? Because they already gave a disclaimer on their website saying that it takes 19 weeks on average to process study permit apps from naija. So, how lucky do you feel about pulling it off in 5 weeks? It's up to you. In my opinion, I think it's "risky" late. |
stevemims:Sup gee? I'd rather you draft like an essay. At least, that's what I did. The one for visa app might need to be addressed to the VO tho. But I guess it doesn't really matter. |
MrArams:LOL! The guy dey maneuver identities noni... e fit be one up-and-coming agent if we look well... |
olamonsor2:Gbayi baba... me sef I tap into that prophesy... I no rush tho, was just responding to someone that was having panics in anticipation of VOs response. anytime is fine by me as long as it's positive and in great timing... |
Mcjimmy:Oh! You mean the checklist that should be included in the paper route submission. Ok. I don't remember how it looks and I don't recall where it was required to enter names of schools attended. Regardless, academic institution certificates should be enough to detail your academic history. I'm not agreeing nor concluding that that's why you were refused tho... I just wanted to be sure I didn't carelessly omit that information. Let's wait for the VO's report. Have a great weekend and don't party too hard. Cheers. |
Mcjimmy:Yeah, I feel so too. ... but I just checked my forms and I don't see where the disclosure of secondary school(s) attended was required in any of them. Where did you (need to) state it in your application? I hope I'm not mixing things up. |
Mcjimmy:what did u submit as regards your sponsor. Like was it just his statement of account? Any employment/business document that suggests his identity? If he/she is not your parent, did you define ties in a convincing way? I mean, a lot of us did not include sponsor's id. Well, I didn't (speaking for myself). It's a little oversight but I believe those other proofs I've mentioned should suffice. Why (and how) did u suggest you went to 3 secondary schools? All you had to do was submit WAEC/NECO certs? Anyways, until you collect your docs, we don't know why you were refused so let's not draw any conclusions yet. Cheers... (Oh and yeah! Really sorry about the refusal). |
Siga:Hip hop siga. From Jigga to Biggie... I hail o. I will participate in one of these chemical nights one day...and soon. TGIF |
sosodp:Oct 1st and his application is now ready ke? O ga o; that's interesting to hear. Anyways, like you have been advised, just relax and let the Visa officers do their job. Wa wa alright, just stay prayerful. |
Siga:Hahaha. Siga gat lyrics....and prayers too... Amen o. Amen |
ipain:the dot after the ca is not part of the link... take it out from the url and resend |
warrikid:All the best. You really took your time sha o... Just pray hard for a speedy and positive response. |
@Ipain Ok, at least now we understand that it was sheer ignorance… which really is not an excuse (especially in 2014). Sorry about the perceived insults. A safer approach would’ve been for you to observe first to understand that there is a procedure to follow before “Travelling to Canada” and it’s that procedure we discuss. On a day to day basis on the thread, we refer to links on the CIC website. There’s a simple questionnaire there to determine your own eligibility as your case proves. The idea of a Canadaian or anyone sending you a visa raises suspicion of a scam; only the CIC can approve one for you and if you didn’t know that already, I’m sorry, you really cant blame anyone for that miseducation. Almost any information is out there on the internet… on Google, which is probably your browser homepage. I don’t expect anyone to apologise to you for the harsh responses because anybody with illegal intentions will post that kind of message u posted. But now that I can sense some sort of innocence in your other posts, I guess my conscience is too soft to not give an apology cos I also may have remarked too harshly at your post. A lot of people here have been through a lot and are going through a lot still so this thread could be really sensitive at times. … in other words, Mr/Ms ipain, no be only u dey pain… No vex. I think you should visit and navigate www.cic.gc.ca. Make it your homepage if possible… All the best. |
xeshie:I think you are on the right track sir; apply for the condition change/ pgwpp/student permit extension as it may apply to you, then add your wife to the package by declaring her in the Family information form as your company. Then she fills a TRV application form too with the necessary requirements for a TRV app. Just my humble opinion because honestly, I have had no personal experience on this issue, I'm only trying to draw up educated guesses on it. But I'm sure it is possible, only that it's not a common case discussed on this thread. I'll love to know how this goes tho... and I'm sure other house members would, as well, so keep us posted on the matter. All the best sir. |
MrArams:Lol. Funny guy... looks like a huge responsibility to be as effective, na why I no offer to takeover. Abeg, make we push am till when your TRV show (or whenever you really are tired of doing it). Na the imagination of all the insertion requests and re-numbering I dey really dread sef. |
xeshie:Morning boss, I'm not sure I get you correctly. Who's the student? You or her? As in are you asking about how she can accompany you while you study or how you can sponsor her to Canada to study. Both are possible and in both cases, you will need to submit your marriage certificate along with the usual complete study permit app requirements. You will also need to show substantial available funding in your statement of account, to cover the total living expenses for both of you. I hope this helps. The house is here to share other opinions. |
If I were the moderator, I'd delete that post (from ipain) straight up. It wasn't sharing useful info nor was it asking for sensible help...yet it was a long read. Mschewww! We keep getting more of that posted here and this forum becomes a sham, spam or scam... Rubbish! |
LOL... reading thru a backlog of posts, I can see that it has been a comic day today... something to cool off the mind as we continue in this waiting game. I wish everyone a successful response very soon. Ciao my people |
Joe980:There you go boss: http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx |
@MrArams, Bros no be sey you go collect TRV come leave this our special list dey hang o... biko, u go still help us uphold am atleast to till winter semester resume ... God bless you as you oblige |
Funny thing is, Asaju is not even on the list of panel physicians recommended on the CIC website... maybe it used to be there sha... |
soji0509:oh really? I'll email/call them then. Thanks |
*sigh* Thanks guys @Mr Arams, Cufs, tolaengr... Wish I heard about it earlier. |
Cufs:Need to understand this upfront medicals properly. Does this mean I can (at my own risk) go ahead to do medicals at Asaju (or wherever) without it being solicited, and when it's needed Asaju just uploads my result to CIC? I'm asking because I'm considering it as an option. My workplace is about 6-7 hours away from Lagos (and Abuja too)... and getting time off work when I'm on call is very difficult. I'll be free next week and I plan to be in Lagos, but I haven't been called for medicals yet. Wanna know if it's ok to go ahead and schedule an appointment for medicals anyway. |
@castiello You have submitted already and it's now in the hands of CIC so unless you are looking to hear from someone to make u panic by telling you what you should/shouldn't have included b4 submitting, you don't need a response on the matter. All we can do is to back it up with prayers. It looks pretty solid to me though, let's pray the VO agrees with my opinion. All the best bro. God bless all our applications and aspirations. |
