RomanceRe: My Boyfriend Said Am Too Fat by redsky1: 4:52pm On Oct 26, 2009
is this man ur husband - abeg if he can't love you for you then move on to someone better - i made this mistake many many years ago startving myself cos my ex told me he doesn't like fat women and that if i put on weight it means he would have to cheat (meanwhile my dear i was a UK size 8/10 at the time) he still cheated and is still useless

me i'm happily married to someone who loves me for me fat or slim o!

abeg if you want to lose weight do it for yourself - if u do it for a man u will not be happy

Ok, Rosabelle  and Redski1,since you r hitting on this Money issue let me ask you both a simple question, when was the last time your B/F asked you for money he aint payingback?
No2,mention thosethings you term as,man overiding you and treating you like dirt or have you to answer to them at thier call,by the way the trend is changing, No young man these days wana get married to a woman that aint got something doing.I think when you talk about marriage  and endurance as regards to our mothers, it goes beond money and physical  stuffs
happily married thank you so no boy friend is asking for money.

like i have said in other posts - my husband has an educated wife with a professional job that knows where her priorities lie - IN MY HOME WITH MY FAMILY. trust me if he were to tell you the sacrifices i have made u wouldn't be forming the opinion your trying to form.

one can be humble i am just so sad the way our women are treated by their husbands all in the name of marriage - it is sad and depressing
RomanceRe: Ladies Are You Looking Forward To Getting Married? by redsky1: 3:15pm On Oct 26, 2009
in defense of some of our men thou - there are some good ones - unfortuantely most of them are taken (my husband included - LOL)

i'm sorry but from what i have seen from our men they are too easily influenced - its almost like your back in primary school dealing with these grown men. a man will be content and one useless friend will put nonsense in his head and trouble don't start

is it not one of his friends that told my husband that he should be careful about me - i am too clever - hmmmmmmmmmmmm i don tire for our men - they marry dumbo they complain they marry intelligence they complain - anyway what that ignoramus failed to realise is that my husband is very happy within himself and doesn't mind if his wife is smart after all at least he knows we will never be hungry (in Jesus name)

abeg all u men saying that we women have adopted western culture and that the ones in naija are the "wife material" open your eyes the world is changing - a woman sitting at home calling her friends to discuss remi hair and mac make up and pumping out children for you with nothing to add to the family is so not this century any longer

you men make me laugh - why does it always have to be about money when equality or treating a woman with respect is discussed.

the reason "our mothers" endured is cos they and their children would be living a life of acute poverty if they were to ask for basic respect.

its not about education - my late father made sure he drummed it into my head that education is key as a woman and that i should never have to depend on a man.

what i have found is alot of our men have a complex and the only way they feel like men is to marry a woman that they can control and walk all over and in a way is very dependent on them - so that they can feel free to do anything they want.

so back to our resident virgin sweetpie - marriage is sweet if its with the right person and you have God in the marriage. The foundation of the happiness and peace in a marraige is love and God
RomanceRe: Caught My Husband Of 7yrs In A Compromising Position At A Girl's House! by redsky1: 9:19pm On Oct 25, 2009
first thing you need to do is get your name on the deed of his properties, have you contributed towards the bills in the house cos that would be a start if you try to build a case to get something out of it (if u decide to break up)

MY dear none of us can give you advice as none of us are in ur shoes or living with the emotions you are dealing with, its not that easy to leave a marriage so i understand and appreciate how u must be feeling - u must do what is best for you and your son. my dear some men are just heartless.

please work on ur marriage - if u need counselling take it but one thing i know a cheater will always be a cheater - trust me my dear a man that can't control his d*** will always cheat -i'm sorry to say this but its true.

anyway whatever you do makesure God is in control and its best for you and ur son.

for me I cannot wait! I know so many men seem to dread it but I love the idea of choosing a lovely dress and having all my bridesmaids, experiencing married life and having cute little kids.
so this is ur idea of marriage - LMAO - the sooner u wake from that day dream the better for you.

yes married life is good and i would not swap it for when i was single but if its the wedding dress and bridesmaid that is shaking ur head my dear hit the floor fast and open ur eyes.

marriage is more than cute kids that people post on facebook.
RomanceRe: Responsible Bachelors Are Hard To Come By In Uk by redsky1: 10:32pm On Oct 22, 2009
ha ha ha u men make me laugh with your sweeping generalisations - so us UK babes are not well trained,

LMAO - my naija born and bred husband who has only dated girls that live in naija was shocked out of his skin when he tasted my soup and served him with the water to wash his hand with the towel over my arm, and guess what i have spent 95% of my life in the UK and I can cook and clean and keep my home in a very clean and tidy manner plus hold down a professional job.

so please not all of us are like that - all the girls in my family know how to cook and keep a home - we are 100% Nigerian. If the only girls you guys are meeting are not "trained well" as u say then maybe you need to broaden ur horizons - and yes i know my husband is an extremely lucky man!!!!!!! grin
PoliticsRe: BBC Documentary On Rebranding Nigeria by redsky1: 10:16pm On Oct 22, 2009
let me tell you what the problem is with Nigeria and Nigerians

THE MENTALITY OF NIGERIANS - here in London everybody wants to hang out with rich people's kids - excuse me don't they mean the children of the politicians who have emptied the public purse. In Nigeria people in Nigeria don't care how u made the money they will stay hail you - to me this is disgusting.

CHANGE THE MENTALITY OF PEOPLE - THE COUNTRY WILL CHANGE - the level of pretence and hypocrisy is that country is astonishing - going to church to spend 4 hours when u leave you do not follow the teachings of the bible - big joke.

RomanceRe: Responsible Bachelors Are Hard To Come By In Uk by redsky1: 10:15pm On Oct 21, 2009
I could write a long essay here but I'm tired. I thank God this is no longer a problem for me cos the amount of unserious, lazy and ignorant men in this UK is simply pathetic.

I think the blame can be put at the doorsteps of both the men and women. the problem you have is that women have become very educated and career orientated and this leads to higher requirements in a partner, a lot of our boys tend to be unserious and for various reasons, be it racism, lack of confidence etc they just don't seem to be getting the good jobs and the ones that do carry the colonial mentality and believe that only oyinbo is now good enough for them.

for the women we have to admit to ourselves that we want a ready made man and tend to over look brothers that have potential but might not be that financially buoyant, therefore missing out on a possible husband material

men hear this you guys have something called wife material but we women also have something we call husband material - not all men fall into this catergory.

anyway like i said i'm tired can't concentrate on what i am writing again. hope i made at least some sense
FamilyRe: Are You Married And Fat? by redsky1: 10:19pm On Oct 20, 2009
THE men asking this question i guess they all look like brois kodjoe and have the bank balance of bill gates - nonsense.

Women come in different shapes and sizes - for some women it takes time to lose the baby fat and for others it takes less. not every body can have a tummy tuck during childbirth like victorian beckham - she is paid to look that slim.

I guess all our mothers were supermodels abi thats why we demand it from the mothers of today.

some women are fat some are slim - simple fact. if a man is going to cheat cos u put on weight then he doesn't really love you.

Foreign AffairsVillage 'witches' Beaten In India by redsky1(op): 9:33pm On Oct 20, 2009
So this doesn't only happen in nigeria - why are women and children always targeted. I'm so fed up with these backwards mentality

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8315980.stm

Five women were paraded naked, beaten and forced to eat human excrement by villagers after being branded as witches in India's Jharkhand state.

Local police said the victims were Muslim widows who had been labelled as witches by a local cleric.

The incident occurred on Sunday in a remote village in Deoghar district.

Correspondents say the abuse of women who are branded as witches is common, but rare footage of the incident has caused outrage across India.

Police went to Pattharghatia village after being informed about the incident by a group of villagers.

'Possessed'

They have lodged a case against 11 villagers, including six women. Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The victims were taken to a playground where hundreds had assembled to watch

Deputy police inspector general

Armed police have since been deployed to the area.

"On Sunday morning the victims were taken to a playground where hundreds had assembled to watch the ghastly incident," deputy inspector general of police Murari Lal Meena told the BBC.

"No one in the mob came forward to rescue the victims as they were being stripped and beaten up," he said.

The victims are now under police protection.

Police say that people in Pattharghatia believe that certain women in their village are possessed by a "holy spirit" that can identify those who practise witchcraft.

"These women recently identified five women from the same village as being witches who practised witchcraft and brought miseries to the area," a police official said.

Soon, an unruly mob broke into their huts, dragged them out and started beating them up.

Footage of the incident has been aired on television channels in India prompting outrage.

Hundreds of people, mostly women, have been killed in India because their neighbours thought they were witches.

Experts say superstitious beliefs are behind some of these attacks, but there are occasions when people - especially widows - are targeted for their land and property.
