Kai, United is so poor. Even with Everton's self immolation. |
Yes it is good to respond by showing defiance, faith and strength. But in these parts it also means papering over the cracks. The selfish, uncaring attitude of Nigerians towards their fellow citizens where folks just move on without recourse. Years ago you will have thought the incident in Ondo will have taught us something and will preempt a reoccurrence. But here we are again. Meaning it will not be the last and we should all brace for the next one. A nation that cannot solve it's basic problems. A nation that has never solved anything in it's long history. |
Reference:Yeah back to the Arsenal match.. Al Nassr has just romped home again with CR7 scoring a last minute spectacular overhead kick. If you haven't seen it get to YouTube or revisions on ESPN2. Just spectacular from the 40 year old legend. |
GanagiBitrus:I am a football fan not a club fan. Love to see competitive, high quality games with a lot, a lot of drama. But I can oblige you fans. Anyway, done here. Off to watch CR7 in Saudi before Real Madrid to cap off the night. |
Ruined game. One of the worst North Lindon derbies ever seen. Tom Frank is a dodo. Thought this was the match of the weekend. |
If only Spurs had been more courageous. What is the point now of the low block in a DERBY. Did they not watch Sunderland. |
Spurs should man up and make a match of this. What kind of cowardly tactic is this against a fellow Prem team.... a derby for that matter. |
This game needs a Spur's goal to get it going. Pretty dour. |
brain54:Nigeria things. Most don't know self medication is against the law. That there is a difference between prescription medication and OTC's. |
WriteerNg:This is not true. Iran has the S-400. But it is not certain whether they were active when Israel sent in F-35's to neutralize Iran's air defences ahead of the USAF B2's mission. Also Assad had Russia bring in several S-400 units to protect Damascus and other high value locations but the story was the Israelis will inform the Russians when they were going to strike and the Russians will simply turn them off. Reason: No one wanted his best offensive (F-35) and defensive (S-400) tested over an unimportant country (Syria). |
DaGC:Yes, the Mig-21 had certain design issues but it was a very effective fighter/interceptor in the 60's. The Kalashnikov of air forces around the non western world. I was privileged as a kid to sit in the cockpit of a NAF Mig-21 during the air force day shows at NAF base Kano in those days and together with the flyby's, ejector seat demonstrations, etc, was an immense an unforgettable experience. Those crash tallies are for all airforces that had the jet and it is possible Nigeria was responsible for a couple as well. |
Expected. The highest number produced and the highest numbers that have been used by militaries round the world in the East and West respectively. It is like asking why most mechanics specialise in Japanese autos, simple more people drive japmobiles. |
Charity is always good. But industry is way better. I can see the stuff to be given out including sewing machines, etc. But a better way out is this: * Convert that hall to a workshop. * Station all those sewing machines. * Place those with the skills at each sewing station. * Train those without the skills or pls e them in other tasks. * Create a cottage garment industry. * Use your considerable influence to get them up and running by planting them in the commercial market space. * Make a pact with them to reproduce, give back to society in exactly this way. By this, your charity work in that area, that locale has ended. You have created, jobs, enterprise and seeded an ecosystem of self sufficiency. This is the way Nigeria can get on its feet. This is what government and all well meaning Nigerians should be doing. This is the way to get Nigeria's teeming population, the youth out of the devils workshop and make a decisive impact on insecurity. |
Minjim:This also. The fact is, the military is not completely under the control of the government. And when I mean control, right down to the nuts and bolts of the military institutions. And like I said a few days ago the reason is simple. Civilian administrations, one after the other have refused or failed to restructure the country in order to dissolve it's internal boundaries and fault lines but rather accentuated them in order to obtain one form of advantage or the other over their competition. So with the recurring distrust in the civil space the military is covertly and overtly seen as the unbiased arbiter of last resort. The glue that holds this country together. In a nutshell (no matter how painful this may sound) politicians by and large have not earned the respect to question the military. This situation is the black hole into which a lot of suspicions surrounding the festering insecurity situation revolves. |
Minjim:Exactly what I am saying. |
No comment. There is no detail here. This is not a budget, just a list. The basic definition of budget is 'the estimate of income and expenditure over a set period of time' The armed forces is a security service so is not income generating by nature but the peace and security it provides has a quantifiable value which is necessary to assess when making budgets in relating to the expenditure side of things. However that of Nigeria continues to remain opaque Very few know the details of how the armed forces spends it's resources, how much it allocates to various aspects of administration and operations. So no one really knows how much this insurgency has cost the country over the years and how much the war against banditry is costing the country right now. And if costs cannot be properly assessed then policy, planning, strategies, etc to contain and solve all the insecurity issues bedeviling this country cannot be done. The US knows how much it spent in Iraq and Afghanistan. The American public knows how much it costs to keep an aircraft carrier stationed in the Caribbean per day. And on this basis the people decide what is worth it or not. |
Feudal society. Everyone is involved. Negroid DNA. Vertically integrated. Horizontally weak. Unable to form proper 3D views of society. |
Oritna94:If they fail to qualify for next seasons Champions league the losses will be so huge, FFP will virtually lock them out of the transfer market. |
The beautiful game. Who will say a bottom three team with managerial crisis will beat the defending champion, absolutely ravish them at home. That is why we just LOVE the Premiership. 300 million dollars in the bin. Must be the costliest mistake ever in world sports. |
VVD is only running on fumes. Age has caught up. It is beginning to show big time. Just like Thiago Silva in his sunset at the Bridge. |
Another goal..... The way Liverpool is going down, the Chinese will soon supply arms and bandits to start mining lithium at Anfield.... ![]() |
Hmmm...this Slot machine will be banned in Las Vegas at this rate... just dashing everyone freebies. |
josielewa:Very poor game. As if they are waiting for Burnley to rattle their cage with a goal before they wake up. |
Gotocourt:They were waiting for Nigerians to forget as usual the. They trade them for 30 pieces of silver. |
Just passing by and shaking my head. A disgraced country indeed. That cannot solve it's basic problems. Insecurity, raging for two decades. Tens of thousands dead, displaced and dehumanized. Yet, claiming political success in installing one poor quality government after another. Shameful people. |
When you cannot 'cry out' for the right to defend yourselves. When you cannot cry out for the right to have your own police at your doorsteps to obey your mandate of securing you. When you cannot cry out to have your own courts to try those who seek to take your life so that you can hang them in the market square. Then you will cry out to people who cannot and will not secure your lives and nothing, absolutely nothing will happen. This is almost 20 years of uninterrupted violence in the federating units of this country. 20 years of insurgency, banditry, Jihadist wars with without a solution. And your fellow citizens are busy voting and installing government after government they like without a consideration that they cannot solve your problem. What a country. Can you imagine a group of people killing hundreds and thousands of people. Scorching and pillaging villages in the US or the UK or France or Saudi Arabia or in China for years and years without solution. What exactly do people vote for in this country by the way....what....what... |
Don't worry, they will come again in a few weeks for the council polls and in a few months for the general polls and then we will see how you then use your considerable influence under rage to push back. If you like collect 500 naira and a tee shirt saying "I deserve all this' and return them to power. |
What is stopping the Federal government from outlawing states and councils from negotiating with bandits. Why is there no Federal law against this. Is it because of political expediency,? Why is action against criminality so lopsided across various substrates of the country. If gunmen were running amock in either the west, east or south, there will be police and military solutions. But up north the Federal government appears unable to reach the grassroots where the criminality is hottest. Why. If southern states decide to make peace deals with IPOB, ESN or various armed group operating in the Niger - Delta will such hold water at the Ministry of Justice in Abuja. Exactly what is happening. |
lilsmart:Interesting thought process and outlook. So, the bandits and Jihadists.... whoever they are are in on the 'huge' resources the church commands and want in on it..... interesting |
Said it. That this problem has NO solution. Both sides are in effect fighting over the same thing and have the same end of goal. They both want it all. |
One of the reasons why the Negro cannot move out of the third world orbit. He lacks principles. He cannot see beyond himself. Ted Cruz was a close ally of Donald Trump but fell out over his own Presidential ambition. Just days ago they came to an agreement in principle over the Nigeria Christian genocide issue. Ted thanked him for the intervention. Marjorie Taylor, a MAGA hat and Trump ally recently fell out with him over the Epstein files disclosure, bringing overwhelming pressure on the administration. Trump has signed the order despite his searing anger over the issue. Throughout the week he had looked weak, constantly on the defence, denying any involvement, a man under severe pressure. Elon Musk was instrumental in delivering the presidency to Trump and was rewarded for his ideological views on government finances with responsibilities to trimming the fat. When the first budget eventually came out and more fat was added he openly and dramatically fell out with Trump and his BBB, so called 'big, beautiful budget. Just yesterday he was spotted at the White House with other corporate leaders to fete the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. That is how a proper democratic society works. Where people can stand for themselves, their independent thoughts and their principles no matter whose ox is gored and still survive and thrive knowing the fleeting nature of power in the face of a system anchored on the values of legacy. Here the people have sold themselves to the shackles of feudalism and so are weakened to stand up for what is true and what is decent. They have exchanged their principles for porridge but still remain hungry and wretched. That is the lot of the black man, the African, the Nigerian, a victim of feudalism. |
That is better. There is absolutely nothing to gain from the trip to South Africa. The security situation is near collapsed and the government itself is fracturing at the edges. |
