More like thanks for helping to wreck domestic refining in the name of cheap fuel

APC, taking wrong economic decisions to get elected.
l

How?
If the Dangote refinery can meet our total needs why not just ban the importation of refined products completely so that his monopoly is effected by fiat. Why use tariffs as a tool of economic coercion. Something doesn't add up.

I think the guise is to raise prices to cut off competition and when the competition is gone typically the prices will remain in effect for Dangote to recoup the resources he has deployed in fighting his price wars with marketers.

And this must be done before other refineries come on stream. Before the second phase of his battles commences hence the prior urgency to effect the tariffs.

This I think is the end game.
Politics › Re: PDP Crisis: What Has Changed In These Two Pictures? by Reference(m): 10:44am On Nov 19, 2025
Dunno what all the noise is about.
It is simple.

The man Wike has a pact to ensure the PDP doesn't present a candidate to challenge his erstwhile boss at the next polls, simple.

Another faction of his party disagrees with that. So it is a question of one man's will against the will of several other members.

The present government just doesn't want a democratically conducted election offering credible alternatives to it. It wants a league of crippled parties behind it's triumphant horse drawn carriage ride into Aso Rock, a procession, not an election.

And the ultimate reason for this is simple.
One unpopular policy after another that has dragged the average citizen over hot coals and angered the vast majority of ordinary people that cannot wait to kick it out in 2027. So it needs all the coercive powers of state governors and of course it needs any challenger disabled before the race begins.

We just need to act and the time is NOW

In Mali they have completely surrounded the capital Bamako and stopped fuel supplies entering the city, slowly strangulating the government. How long will that government last I'd the question.

In Nigeria it started in the north, west (Zamfara) and East (Borno). It is moving south gradually on the western flank through Niger and now Kwara. It has moved south also on the eastern flank through Plateau and lately Benue, both flanks bypassing the Federal Capital.

At what point will our leaders realize that halting this insurgency is critical to preventing an encirclement of the capital. Are they looking at this matter with serious concern.

Do they have intelligence on ground to identify and locate possible sleeper cells in the towns are habitations around the capital?

This is why we say the need to have state and local government policing services is CRITICAL in the security architecture of the country as important tools for intelligence gathering and so called fire prevention.

It is time the authorities get ahead of this growing menace and become proactive. They are clearly behind the issue, only reacting to incidents.

TRUTH MUST BE TOLD , WE HAVE Never HAD IT SO BAD IN TERMS OF INSECURITY AS WE ARE Having IT NOW IN NIGERIA UNDER TINUBU . HE DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY IDEA OR EVEN KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING
No ideas because they have shut down everything that constitutes safety in democracy.

They have shut down the Legislature so there are no debates there whatsoever, debates that will have spurred ideas to tackle this issue.

They have stifled political opposition so there are no ALTERNATIVE ideas coming through.

This is the downside of autocracy. A country ruled by one man, with one vision and one set of ideas. How can that work. You cannot run a successful family that way thoughtless of a whole country of hundreds of millions with hyper diverse ideologies.

The most complex societies need the broadest based leadership structures. Unfortunately Nigeria is drifting towards total state failure because democracy is not working well.

As much as some people want karma double down on this government,
some of us sincerely pray for peace because these is becoming unbearable. People in the south feeling safe might soon be sleeping with 2 eyes wide open.

Hoping the government leaves political correctness and deal with these security issues.
And their supporters wake up to do their duty of holding them to account instead of spending all their time and effort fighting their fellow citizens who view things from another angle.

It is now we will see the value of a proper working democracy where there is debate and a cross fertilization of ideas. The kind of robust arguments that will have found solutions to this insecurity now only if the rulers permitted it.

Democracy is meant to opportune broad based consultations. You bring your idea, I bring mine and we toss them around to find the best solutions we can all agree on and will be willing to lend our hands to.

But when we promote a system of stonewalling, of treating criticism as war this is what you get. No entity can succeed on the basis of one man's idea all the time just as no organisation and indeed no country can develop on a singular vision and mission.

We are begining to reap the fruits of full blown autocracy....a failing state.

I still need to know what really caused the fallout between Wike and Makinde. It’s surprising how their relationship suddenly went bad.
The bottom line is simple.
The 2027 elections.

It is obvious the Wike led faction of the PDP's end game is not to present any candidate to stand against the incumbent at the polls, simple. But others don't share in that sentiment, that private arrangement between Wike and his benefactor and want a contest.

So all the rumpus, the side slips, the rancour is to batter the party into such a position it cannot stand.

Disgraceful nation.

They struggle and fight and fight and fight to get into positions of authority but are no different f om those they replace, in most cases even worse.

For them a sacrifice and service to the people, even their loyal fanatics is a taboo. By them, for them, about them alone.

What can they say they gained for the country and the people of Nigeria from the last scandalous summit..... nothing. They assume everyone has forgotten. They see Nigerians as dullards.

Hmmm. Left to watch Italy v Norway after the Congo equaliser and equally left Gattuso and co at half time.

Well, won't say I was disappointed with the Eagles seeing the result this morning. I really didn't expect them to make the world cup.

We don't have an FA in deed, just in name. You cannot see their inputs in growing the game in Nigeria and unfortunately everyone else has caught up.

As for the team it is obvious who should continue and who should be dropped. Mistakes were made in the team selection today and it showed poignantly in the way and manner the goal was conceded. The midfield is dead and required a complete rebuild.

Chelle should continue. He is a decent gaffer. Let him take us to Morocco and possibly prepare the team for Saudi 2030.

If they want to make it a fair tournament, each Continent should be granted same number of slots. It's called a world cup after all. Europe have an advantage because of the number of representation it has
This is a question that will never have an answer.
FIFA is doing a lot for the good of the game globally and this FIFA president in my opinion has been the best head of that organisation ever.

There things he has to balance.

The GAME itself which is resident in Europe. That is where the best quality is found. That is where the best players worldwide trade their skills. You cannot ignore UEFA.

The MONEY today is resident in Asia. That is where the biggest investments in the game are currently being made. They own some of the biggest clubsides in the world and are some if the biggest investors in the commercial aspects of the game. FIFA needs sponsors, they need money to run the game.

The TALENTS, the players overwhelmingly today reside in the south. That is in Africa and South America. They supply so much talent they are redrawing demographics in the north, In Europe today practically every national team of repute has immigrants and players of mixed heritage. FIFA recognizes this and the need to develop the game in their territories of origin. So they invest a lot into the game in Africa and South America.

There is simply no way for FIFA to adopt a bias against one region or the other so they take the easiest way out and expand participation. I understand there were clandestine proposals to make it even bigger. Already we can see that the era of single country hosts is ebbing away.

Just as someone highlighted, it's actually a world cup tournament and not just for European nations.

Teams from other continents need a high number of representation too.

Italy is technically the best team in their group in terms of squad depth and quality. If they can't get past Norway to qualify, it's on them.

The same Italy team has also missed out on previous world cup tournaments even when European competitions had more slot.

Mind you, the slots were not increased to accommodate only Italy
Hmmm....this Norway that hasn't dropped a point and is banging in goals like crazy.... Don't put your money on Italy.

Football has certainly left that country. Their failure to develop the youth game, their failure to attract foreign talent both to clubsides and the national team in players and coaching is biting back.

We all see Italy for it's history in the game, the world cups won (by mistakes.... grin) but the game in that country has gone peer shaped.

With all due respect. Is it a certain Gatusso that will win a world cup. Haba nau.

I don't think so.
There are better teams out there.
Football is witnessing an explosion in talent coming through across the game making the Spanish team look average.

You can see it in club football. Spanish teams no longer dominate the way they did just three and four seasons ago.
