Basket case of government plc. More and more revenues, more and more loans to fritter away with zero accountability on wasteful, unproductive projects to benefit contractor friends and family. |
Trymeee:You should have taken the portal called coastal road and emerge at your destination. |
Puss360:Hmmm... concerning your number 3. I'm sure you watch 'Ridiculousness'. |
AMINDA:Hmmm..... foreign loans to finance transfer window?. That is a new one. |
Successlane:As I said people will cheer at the onset, that is folks who don't know their history or wish to school themselves in it. Before you cheer this war and take sides understand if the fundamentals will lead to your desired outcome. Once again the cement wars of a decade ago are a stark reminder. Dangote's serial price crashes led to a near absolute distributor monopoly. Today he more or less dictates the price. He coughs everyone else sneezes. Remember we all speak one form of English or the other in the world today because America won the second world war. |
Shots fired. Full blown petrol war has started. There will be casualties. As usual sides will be taken and protagonists cheered at the onset by the ignorant public. But at the end everyone loses. The cement wars are a reminder. The winner gets the spoils, writes history and enslaves everyone else. |
Exactly what we have been talking about. We don't have a revenue, earnings problem. We have an unwise, wasteful spending problem. Federal, state and councils fritter away so called scarce resources. If it is not billions wasted on moribund refineries, it is trillions spent on Ajaokuta the last two decades. If it not billions spent on stupid government houses, it is billions renovating conference centres while schools are closed and dying patients in emergency rooms have to 'arise' from near death to sign cheques or make online transfers because hospitals are bankrupt. Sick country led by kleptomaniacs and supported by an abundance of idiocy. |
MEGA4BILLION:The EPL is arguably the toughest league in the world. It doesn't have a top two, or a top three or top four. It has half a dozen teams that can easily spend 200 million pounds on new talent without reserve every window and every match is a cup final. |
Can't see them winning the Premiership any time soon. They have not recruited well, not refreshed the team enough to challenge Liverpool and Pep is looking really spent. City needs a serious rebooting top to bottom. |
DeLaRue:Ours is for coastal road and renovating conference centre while our hospitals cannot admit emergency patients without cash payments. A decade or so ago the UK was still sending development aid to India, then one fateful day Land Rover was bought off by an Indian concern and boom the Brits said enough is enough. What an insult. |
Bobbynobobby:Not supporting any institution but she came with heavy blood loss. In my little knowledge and experience as an observer most hospitals don't have a blood bank for starters. Blood products are sourced independently and payed for in cash. So where do you start from. How do you run effective emergency medicine when the factors are just not there. |
jaxxy:The bottom line is resource management. These medical centers are too poor to take cases upfront, period. We need to take a wholistic look at the healthcare system which is a struggle even in advanced countries. The health insurance industry needs to be overhauled to make it viable and sustainable while the government needs to improve the economy so people can afford qualitative healthcare. |
Israel is becoming the exact thing its adversary during the second world war was, an extremist, ideological monstrosity. It is regrettable that a nation the world sympathized with concerning the worst aspects of the genocide is superintending over mass deaths due to starvation and war. There is no just reason for this atrocity and the West particularly the US should fit e them to end this conflict and the needless, senseless loss of lives. |
nairalanda1:All the income or revenue in the world will not matter if it is poured into a raffia basket of a government. They claim to have saved massively not subsidizing gasoline yet the economic indices does not reflect a 4 trillion a year bounce, why......waste. There is now more money to fritter away, unproductive spending, useless projects. I will give you one example. Wike built several bus parks in Abuja metro at astronomical cost. They have been completed for months. One will have expected that by now they will be operational so that they can begin to ROI to ease the need for more debts at that level. Instead they are proving to be black holes so far. If the project had been a government partnership or private initiative the impact on public finances will be next to nothing but the operators of the economy don't think that way. For them it is all about contracting, taking their cut and moving on. Tomorrow they will be back at FEC with another proposal, government wil put it in a basket of foreign loans and the cycle of mismanagement continues. I ask again who decides how this economy is run. What government spends it's money on. That person should stand up and take responsibility. |
Image123:Is MTEF the bible or some holy book that must be obeyed. Is it not the government that decided MTEF. What they are saying is that the debt burden has become an existential threat to the survival of the country. The debt is fuelling the inflation that drives poverty and the result of poverty is worsening insecurity. The government should find the ways and means to develop this country internally. And this starts by a radical change in the way it operates. It should cease wasteful spending on unproductive so called legacy projects, trim to the barest minimum it's appetite for the award of contracts for all manner of things, rather effect the bulk of it's projects by direct labour and commercial partnerships. And begin to implement the Oransanye report to trim government size. Our recurrent expenditure does not tally with the reality of our economy. These are the ways to START a debt free life. |
walosky:Fourth strongest bite force in the animal kingdom and a temper second to none. |
New idea for Marvel studios. Expect agents to come round his neighbourhood. |
I just wonder what the indigenous populations of the FCT will be saying about Abuja when the Federal capital has moved on to another location in say a hundred years. |
The NFF can send him on refresher courses abroad to top European federations or with the tournament win profile find him a leading European female league team to understudy since the leagues will resume shortly. Will be a lot more affordable than hiring a foreigner to lead the team going forward. There are certain areas of the game he needs to brush up. The just concluded Euros shows the huge gap between the African game and the best of the world. |
That is Gaza level tragedy in a country supposedly at peace and according to some doing well. After all the State is receiving record monthly allocations. |
When the people learn to make informed decisions to sacrifice their lust for crumbs then their dignity will be capable of receiving the proper dividends of good governance. Slavery is a bad thing. |
Good governance is a hard task for vision less, poor quality and corruption ridden political leadership. The easy option out of that and to continue in goverment is to have no political opposition. If an athlete doesn't train well for a competition he will sore wish his main rivals cop an injury and miss out. It is only the spectators that will feel cheated out of experiencing a great race. And a great race is what begets a great country. If this government claims it is the best thing for Nigeria at this period in time, it should prove it by qualitative leadership and good governance not by seeking glory in a one man race. There is no glory there. |
PastorFire:If CAF won't do anything about it what can the participating teams do. CAF are slaves to north Africa federations since the rest of Africa except SA are not ready to pull their weight and share in tournament organisation. |
Said it. Morocco is much more composed and decisive in their forward play. Our girls are touch, touch, carry, carry, turning round and round without cutting edge like Arsenal's Odegaard. |
Our forwards continue to be the weak link in this team. No decisiveness, no urgency and no accuracy. See Morocco, one slip, bang, goal scored. We should do all we can to ensure these north Africans stay away from this trophy. Once they get their hands on it, we may never see it again. |
In power they take care of themselves, out of power they force others to care of their region. It is only in the south that people are required to kiss ass for a candy bar. All those defecting to the so called centre should watch and see what real influence is about. Selling their people for nothing. Shouting 'on your mandate' up and down while their vehicles sink in muddy potholes including the region that lays the golden egg but it's people cannot afford even pigeon eggs. |
Does the agreement include the sole proprietor of the PDP, Mr. Nyesome Wike. |
Well, another advisory judgement, not enforceable? Are court judgements worth the paper they are written on these days. |
DesChyko:They are all failed citizens. The same people that will shout at the non performing workers in their businesses, scream at their tailors for failed promises and demand for refunds when their online vendors dupe them are busy giving excuses for the failed leaders they voted for. Leaders that have failed to deliver quality service, reneged on their promises, lied to them time and again, duped them and stolen their wealth. What do call this if not Pharaoh grade slavery. To show how their so called loving leaders regard them every effort is being made to recruit additional oppression in the form of coercing, begging and bribing legislators and governors, not them. Because they see that their votes, their lives, their hopes and aspirations count for nothing. Don't join them in scrambling for crumbs from the masters table because those they worship are no better than any other citizen on the streets. |
Tolupage:Another misunderstanding as relating to sponsors. Do you really need to sponsor an ideology. Or is preaching and professing not enough to generate practice. There is no belief that requires anyone to pay anyone to practice and we all know this insurgency is all about a pseudo religious movement. Just as preaching on the altar without financial inducement can generate vast resources so can this insurgency draw vast resources from those who believe in it, i.e self sponsorship. That is why many, many years ago I advocated that defeating this insurgency will have to include a planned, deliberate and strategic policy of area, regional wide de-radicalisation. That was the carrot I prescribed, not just the rudimentary acceptance and re integration of so called repented militants. |
ManishSmith:What are you saying. Is there anything about him that suggests he couldn't travel to say cozy corporate Victoria Island to procure it with valid or fake identity documents, talk about hiding in plain sight. Is there anything written terrorist on his forehead. We seem not to understand what an insurgency is all about. It is first and foremost an ideology before it is an armed conflict which means it's members or supporters can be anyone, anywhere, in any capacity with any amount of resources. Why do you think it is so difficult to contain. We all probably come across their members in our everyday lives, even you may have interacted with one or two unknowingly and if you are a vendor in any part of the country may have unknowingly sold something that is aiding their operations. Ideologies are in heads and hearts, not dressed in uniforms or carrying terror ID cards. They are apt on social media meaning one or two might even be on this forum. |
