We have enough roads and don't need more. Handover the existing ones to the company to fix, own and toll. Any new infrastructure should be rail and rail alone. Rail lines are faster to build, more efficient to run and cheaper to mantain. Leave all these white elephants alone. |
grandstar:Na so. You people want 'cooperation' not confrontation. Everyone bowing down to a maxim ruler of a feudal state. Call it democracy but fears alternative views. Oya, the PDP spokesman is wrong, the government was honest, always....in everything.....satisfied? |
Murketeer:The Summer transfer market was not an entirely successful one. The Kai buy was not a good one. Havertz is too weak to play in the Premiership. |
Jeshurun90:Then they need a 'General Overseer' not a 'General Manager'.... ![]() |
Angelfrost:Next Manage at Chelsea.....or United?....which ever team is more fed up with the status quo. |
See how Arsenal is ending. With Eddie, Kai and Nelson up front. Are these title winning person's? The squad is still not good enough, not deep enough. |
mohbadliveson:The chap should be on minimum wage because he gives minimum effort. |
Back to back wins in the books for Villa at the Bridge since 1933. Records continue to tumble with every new gaffer. |
BadMaster:Injury. |
With Havertz and Jorginho on the field it is safe to say Spurs is likely to win this match. Arsenal's bench is not up to scratch. Filled with rival club rejects. Nothing fresh and inspiring on it. |
If this is a novel discovery supposing you have drank milk before (who on this planet hasn't) then it is safe to say the milk was bad. The bad state of the Nigerian economy will push many retailers into all sorts of dodgy practices including best before/expiry date tampering. |
Gosh, Nketia is so lazy. Cannot run, cannot press. Arsenal needs to tear up their striker scouting program. |
Can any Nigerian hold a view, hold a position for a year, a decade.... Does any politician have a solid ideology..... This talk is nothing new. It is the DNA of every Nigerian and every black man indeed. It is why we cannot form viable societies. |
If that road was private sector owned or maintained it won't be like that. The government owns far more than it can cater for but corruption mixed with sentiment will not allow them restructure and let go. |
Malroux:That was a monumental gaffe and it will haunt this government for some time to come. Careless words indeed. |
Onana don buy market for Premiership fans. Premiership sabi naked peson walahi.... ![]() |
My little knowledge of that area is that most of Aba is in a depression. There are no natural water courses, no channels for storm-water to flow by gravity. I think during the last regime there was a geo study on this and it was recommended that sub-surface flood tunnels be created. That will be a massive engineering undertaking. |
Myer:Oga, the government can achieve 'collectivism' through superior ideas or press through wonky ideas through superior arguments. You and I did some debating in grade school. We did not sit down and appeal for the other side to cooperate with us to win the contest. Why is it that politics in Nigeria CANNOT ACCOMMODATE ALTERNATIVE IDEAS AND THRASH THEM OUT THROUGH DEBATE. Why are we so feudal in nature to see the word of the 'King' as law always. Democracy is structured so that all sides of a matter can be assessed for many reasons. 1. So that that government is always taking the best decision. Even your holy books say so, and I quote, 'In an abundance of counselors, there is wisdom'. No single person knows it all. The fate of a country is not best served intellectually or other wise by the wisdom of a single person or a few people, but by the collective wisdom of all citizens, the legislators represent. 2. So that government protects or accommodates the interest of the vast majority of people. And this is critical in running a successful government. By supplying gas and air to all the pistons, the engine runs fine, friction and constant agitation is dampened. When matters are debated and won by superior reasoning all parties leave satisfied, the victors are humble and the losers are not dejected. For no two people blinded by sentiment can describe an elephant adequately by touch. They need to SEE. Debate opens eyes, opens minds. It brings the citizens (NLC and all) to the reality of the situation of their country, thus making governance easy. I can go on and on. But the facts are clear. We are not serving ourselves right when we cannot sit down and reason together. When we want the views of only a select few to count. It resulted in a disastrous government just ended and yet we want to start another autocratic journey, haba. The only place where politics mixes with governance is in a dynamic legislature. It is where for instance those who wanted to save and cut expenditure as a capitalist ideology will have clashed with those who wanted to borrow and spend on socialist programs last government. If the Lawan 9th Assembly had permitted robust debates we will probably have met somewhere in the middle, perhaps far lower debts, less subsidy and smaller government... whatever, but surely not as bad as it is today and most of all Nigerians will have been onboard and satisfied government did its best. |
The National Assembly represents us not you. The extent to which they 'cooperate' with you is the extent to which your policies, programs and positions are geared towards moving the people forward. Anything else is precisely why we are where we are. I cannot imagine why any sane citizen will desire that any present of future government be given a legislative free pass or blank cheque after what the Buhari led government did, turning the word 'cooperation' to acquiescence and then onto autocracy with devastating effects on every aspect of life in this country. |
With all the issues facing Nigeria this is what Nigerians are busy with?..... sorry souls. |
festacman:What more can I say. This is just the truth. Highly disappointed the way the government is run. The man is gallivanting around the world while inflation consumes the economy turning lives and livelihoods to ashes. I ask this. What is anyone coming to invest in, where the people's purchasing power is lost. completely eroded. |
Unfortunately this might just be the best advice. The man Obi and his team should either leave to set up another party or enter into alliance with a solid existing party on proper terms this time around. He brought the present level of attention and popularity to the Labour party and if the party cannot proceed without rancour then it simply cannot hope to govern. |
The intra-city rail link the FCT needs is that from Kubwa, Karu and Gwagwalada to the city centre respectively at the first instance. Then a planned intercity connection can be built further into Niger, Nassarawa and Kogi state respectively. These are the capital projects the citizens should demand for, not some dumb flyover. This will save them time and money, free them from fuel wahala and enable them live anywhere their pockets can afford. But while they bicker amongst themselves their elites were busy using their money to build the only rail line between the city centre and the airport. A link none of them will abandon their armoured limousines and noisy escorts to use. |
What are their representatives in parliament doing. Just sitting down and eating fat allowances instead of harassing the agencies that arrogate the authority for such works onto themselves. |
stanluiz:It is the peoples loss. There is a reason why governments that are bad are changed. The PDP was changed in 2015 due to poor performance and dire corruption. The APC was retained in 2023 after worse performance and crass corruption. Where is the progress. Nigerians should just get ready for anything they see. |
The Comptro-general will not answer you people because he knows your ogas were selected by his oga. That is the bottom line. If you threaten him, he will report you to his oga and his oga will remind your oga who put him there. There is a reason why your independence is your only asset. And your integrity is your only power. Otherwise every other thing is just for show.... show of shame as usual. To the onlookers and the citizens who are being robbed and raped of their patrimony left and right. When you are ready to let go of your sentiment and work this democracy the way it should be, then these events will end. |
Meanwhile in the other match David De Gea will be laughing his arse out..... what a howler from the Cameroonian sit tight leader. |
Expect supporters of the government to come shine the light on what is happening.... what the government they so vociferously back on everything under the sun is doing.... alas.... none. That is how Nigeria rolls. It is never about ideology.... just sentiment.... that vanishes under heat. |
Nigerians must admit that this country urgently needs restructuring, as the only way to end the endless cycle of mistrust. Nigeria just cannot succeed by this tribal merry-go-round. Far too much energy and resources is spent in keeping this country alive, this inherently unstable entity that constantly threatens to tear itself apart. |
sanpipita:No one will also put his money where inflation rates are this high. It is pouring water on hot iron. The steam is deadly and the iron is lost. Investments are to boost a forward movement, a clear direction and a potential to return. Not to wake the dead. If the citizens cannot afford to buy the products or services offered by the investor..... what is the point. It is government's responsibility to point the economy, the country in the right direction and investors will then come in to place engines on it to fly. |
Shey una do hear. We don talk taya on dis mata. Next pls. Removing subsidy does not automatically translate to economic prosperity just as opening up a patient in theatre, or stripping an engine does not mean the person is cured or the vehicle repaired. |
Menclothing:Oga, they are protecting a multi billion naira strategic national asset slap bang in the middle of George Bush's Baghdad. The Chinese have no other business there other than work after which they leave but the soldiers will remain, battling terrorists while collecting stipends no better than those guarding Kentucky Fried Chicken. |
