Will not oppose as how.... ![]() Tinubu is not standing for Governor of Abia and Otti to the best of my knowledge is not running for President of the FRN so where is the nexus these primitive people seek. They cannot let go of their feudal mindsets and serve the people they were elected to. It is always one story or the other about a person, in the quest to cultivate loyalty and dance along the gravy train. Okay sir. We have heard you. Mr. Otti has but one vote and it is none of your business who he appends for President. Don't assume or imagine a crowd in chains following him to the ship setting sail for the sugar plantations of the West Indies. Nigerians continue to devalue.themselves daily and then complain their oppressors maltreat them. |
Gangs of Lagos are bringing their thuggery and violence to the streets of Abuja and as usual the police are lining up not behind the law but the institution of feudalism that is certainly bigger than the law in Nigeria. One day a government will come that will put an end to all this and let this country become civilised. This one is frittering it's legacy away. |
RollinTNDA:Believe you me. There are worse things out there. Nothing unimaginable has man not imagined. |
His sentence should be more than that. Look at the US and see the kind of sentences they give for theft of government funds by ordinary citizens thoughtless of what is given to those entrusted with it, public servants, which is even worse. If you read tribal meanings and are angry at that then ensure equity by getting those of other tribes in the dock as well. Advocacy and protests are not only about what government is doing wrong, but is also about what government is not doing right. |
This nonsense is finally established in Abuja. And once it takes root no amount of herbicide can eradicate it. |
njokuuche77:Electricity has collapsed? When there is concrete coastal road Just plug it into one of the solar lights and your problem is solved.... |
Jakarta:Oga, all this is long grammar. The fact is that Nigerians, the average man on the streets pay for what they use one way or the other when they are confronted and coerced. I have seen people steal electricity in all sorts of ways but at the end when confronted they pay. That is the worst a common man can do. The government raises rates five times in four years, the country did not burn, people are paying. So to blame the disaster of power on the common man is just being disingenuous. The people who are not paying are well known to everybody. They are the people these power companies cannot confront because of the kind of vested interests that has not been able to name one single fuel subsidy thief for twenty years despite trillions stolen. So that man had better cry to the right mummy and leave the people alone. We pay our bills. As a matter of fact Nigerians are the most docile people on earth. We take to much ish from these kind of people. Can't try all these in other countries. |
nairalanda1:What are you saying. Are Nigerians not paying the commercial price of gasoline despite all the initial resistance to subsidy removal. Are Nigerians not paying the crisis price of gasoline because of the MidEast war. Please don't hide behind Nigerians. The people have ALWAYS payed their bills when compelled to. It is the people that have continued to pay a heavy toll for government corruption, mismanagement and inefficiency. Was it not government and it's lackeys that stole trillions from subsidy payments. Now who is paying to reconstruct government finances, the people. It is the government that set the electricity rate, it is government that split the billing systems into bands to promote efficiency they claim, and it is the government that is the heaviest debtor to the power companies. So please share your stories in the right corridors. But if government thinks the common man will pay for the electricity it consumes in its own offices, government accomodations, courts, police stations, barracks, stadia, hospitals, schools, All of which constitute the bulk of debts owed the power companies, after crazy budgeting and taxing the people to death, then it is in for a long thing. When people are fed up of an inept government, they will simply throw them out. |
It is not about who is, it is about what is. What is your situation before this government came to office and what it is now. Vote accordingly to continue like this or change course. These are the simple issues citizens of all functional democracies consider. Themselves. They don't vote because of anyone or anything other than their experiences. Simple. Do so and this country will be alright. |
It cannot be an entirely bad thing. While naysayers call this country all sorts of names including zoo, you go about your merry way, naming your operations after animals. What the heck is lion squad, scorpion....giraffe, alligator, porcupine, buffalo.... . Is the police service some type of game reserve... |
2mch:Not a member of the church or a follower of the doctrine but once again he says the phrase is not directed at people. One of the tenets of the Pentecostal movement is that the spiritual controls or moderates the physical so stacking the spirit behind sin frees the person. So you are a really helping not hindering the person. My thoughts. |
saintruky:Many what? You have heard it is not directed at animate things. |
femi4:There is no politician walking the earth that has any integrity. That is, in the sense most decent people know. It is the nature, the culture of their jobs to be two tongued vipers. So like them or hate them, it doesn't matter. Just do not believe for a second what they say. It will surely change with the setting of the sun. The woman may be out of her depths, naive and perhaps greedy to be in this position and her actions so far depict someone who is not schooled in the art of business relationships. But something happened between her and the Minister he just cannot deny. It takes more than guts to be this brash and loud about a matter if it just for show. And a show it will have been if we had a functional judiciary and a serious family court system. |
Mrchippychappy:No vex abeg. It is our nature. We cannot help it. Rich, poor, educated, unlearned, prince, peon, we carry am for head. Even world renowned psychologists have given up trying to understand the Nigerian negro. |
Which associates are ready to raise one billion. These people.... |
Debate only pls: Is Arsenal's title run more about just how awful the top Premiership teams have been most of the season rather than the brilliance shown at the Emirates. City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs to be honest have been shambolic. Top players like Haaland, Cole Palmer, etc have really been below their best for long stretches of the title race. Even second tier teams like Newcastle and Aston villa are all dropping away. Is there really a title race or is this just a capitulation. |
Then don't vote him in. I don't understand this defeatist mentality. It is as if once you are in office, in authority or with the ruling party you only need to yawn to have your way. Why are Nigerians this diminished mentally and have their wills totally captured. If the man has integrity issues, if the man cannot be trusted with his word, if the man is not honest in his ways you simply look elsewhere and end that kind of behaviour in the polity. When a people lose the reins of democracy standards of life become unmanageable. Other democratic nations we see and admire are not made by the whims of one or two individuals in leadership over time but by the collective wills of a people that know right from wrong, good from bad, honesty from dishonesty and have come to appreciate that in order for their lives to be made better, they need to TAKE A STAND. People with integrity issues WILL corrode the morals of society if they cannot be held accountable. FACT. |
Is this also a highlight of the much vaunted trip... Kai...when we were thinking of foreign investors, they are giving our President a bin lorry to take the trash out.... ![]() |
Pacesetter123:Naaaa. The club is far too big for that man.….boy. Out of his depth almost every game. |
Wordson:I agree with the other guy. UCL is a different competition and though PSG is formidable team both home and away they are not invincible. They have bad days too. They are not exactly running away with the Lique 1 title so the distraction is there. Anything is possible. Don't put your money on UCL. |
Angelfrost:Cost cutting as a result of years of lack of success on the pitch is responsible for that of United. But for Liverpool it is one thing to have two or three players on big wages. But when you do hostile player buyouts like they did over the summer you now have 5, 6 players earning big wages. Every penny earned counts to balance the books and meet FFP which is harsher for UCL prospective teams. Uefa gives less latitude than the EFA. If they don't qualify they will have to sell this summer and fringe players like Gomez and a couple over the hills like Mo Salah wil have to go. |
Damaging result. Champions league slot may no longer be in their hands. |
ppogba:They will need UCL cash to help balance their books. Very heavy wages are being paid at Anfield these days. |
Angelfrost:Enrique has been given a blank cheque to remain at the Parc. Can't see him leave PSG anytime soon. Will you if you have arguably one of, if not the best assembled squad in Europe....except he wants to prove something.....Guardiola-esque. There is some unfinished business between them about who is the better gaffer. |
judewrites:I thought that was the rumour around Anfield. Though I must say, Liverpool is not a coach sacking club. |
judewrites:Xabi Alonso too. Must be counting down the fixtures. |
And is it an evil thing provided no subsidy is being paid on it. Will a Japanese man mourn that his Toyota Corolla is cheaper in his country than in Dubai or Los Angeles. Ad a matter of fact the cheaper you can provide energy the stronger your attraction for foreign investment. Everyone wants to cut cost. |
WiseBizInvestor:No one knows any longer about this increasingly unreliable club. If they miss the Champions league having spent so heavily their profits will be in the dog house. |
This Slot man has seriously devalued this club. |
Ask them to show performance, they will show you one bridge and road. That is the definition of performance at Federal, State and Council levels. But to move by one inch the metrics of human development. They will tell you they don't know what you are saying. |
If only the people select their security chiefs and mandate them as well. Then we will all accept responsibility. But as they say. You hold the yam and the knife....so just make us a delicious pot of pottage and stop wailing. |
And the Turkiye trip where all the news was about tripping. And France where drama was aplenty. But even to get EDF, a the world renowned power giant to come step in to deliver this country from the electricity mess we are in.....zero, zilch, nada. So it all looks more routine than productive. That every Nigerian HOS should visit and pay homage to the British Sovereign and Head of the Commonwealth, that's all. The coming days, weeks and months will reveal exactly this. His predecessor broke all records for air miles to foreign lands. We are still waiting for the positive impact 11 years later....what is different now.... PS. Chinese leaders are notorious for not travelling far and wide and the present Premier is no exception. But look at the country. It's development is entirely internal and organic. The ability of successive leaders to remain focused, objective, sacrificial and ambitious. They built their country to greatness within their means and by themselves. |
