The interview in my opinion couldn't have ended abruptly at the stage the OP put it in the transcript unless he was absolutely lieing to the VO and was caught, maybe long caught ahead of time sef, or OP was fronting fake/unsubstantiated travel history. If not I don't see why one with travel history (severally oh, and all combined too!) to Australia that ranks about same category as US visa, to UK their sister country and a schengen (Sweden) experience in addition will have his interview ended right at the level of his strongest advantage on the application. Abeg, the transcript no complete, something key is missing jare! But what do I know?

Bro eee, it could have ended like that sir. the ways the consular officer are acting now na 'Wonder Wonder' your experience as a senior man'US Visa' is totally different from what it is now.

I have never talked about documents, I have always talked about class and account statements. I have never seem anyone that has been granted visa by any Vo without knowing what you do for a living . If your profession doesn't worth anything to the Vo you are likely to get rejected . Nobody should confuse me please . I said ladyG wants us to bring all the documents (packaging ) to get a visa . It's false and I feel scam with it . Visa is granted according to purpose of your trip and your financial capability and lastly personality(your profession) if you do not have a job in Nigeria don't hustle 300k to pay anyone for visa . It's scam .

it's okay Baba.

I have come to realize too from experience that people who intend to migrate are MOST TIMES the ones that gets refused (we will not agree, but this is a solid observation of mine all the same, let's check our consciences). The ones with the necessary requirements and are not intent on migrating MOSTLY get this US visa.

Lolz,This one weak me.So,who come dey abuse visa?

I see this quite often. What exactly does it mean?

. . . I know for sure the USA doea not share water or land borders with Nigeria.

Most Nigerians "enter" the US legally (only very very few travel directly to Mexico then illegally cross the borders ) but their refusal to leave or abide by the terms of their visa automatically coronate them with the title "illegal immigrants".

Is that what you meant?

That he might be lucky with fraudulent documents? And that she would implicate the guy? You even have the nerve to support fraud and berate honest Nigerians fighting to correct the image of this country? What a nerve!

@toluene23
Hope you got the message!! You came up with your plans of how your boss wanted to sponsor your vacation,She wasn't in support of your opinions considering your said age @30+,You holds hatred against her. You made a comment on how bad you felt when she replies you and she 'apologize'. What else?. When are we going to learn how to accommodate others genuine opinions? See,I posted my denied transcript here some months back where the VO said She wasn't convinced with my work (I thought it was because I stammered, some said my salary is 50k, I still find time to say thank you for their opinions).I later opened my Ds-160 form on my computer and discovered human errors with regard to my work informations. You know what? I remembered what happen when the VO said you are ineligible for .........,Thou, I wasn't happy. I manage to say Thank You with a smile on my face and if you see the way I file their blue paper in my folder you will think I got white paper(approved) and all this while I never knew she was looking at me.I was about leaving when she called my attention to my mistakes!!
Why all this story gan self? sebi, I no get white paper. Perhaps, I just want you to know it ...........................................(Complete it)

Good evening house! I've been following this thread for quite sometime now and it really helped me when I had my 1st F1 visa interview, unfortunately I was not well equipped as I was denied at the Lagos embassy in March 2018. This was my experience ;

VO: Good morning.
Me: Good morning sir.
VO: pass me your passport and I-20 please...
Me: sure!(gave him passport, I-20 and sevis fee receipt)
VO: where are you going to in the US?
Me: Stratford University in Virginia.
VO: *nods head* in Virginia. What course are you going to study?
Me: yes. Computer and information systems security.
VO: how long do you intend to spend in the US?
Me: approximately 19 months.
VO: did you apply any other schools?
Me: yes! SJSU and ISU
VO: okay, ISU. where you admitted to any?
Me: yes! SJSU.
VO: so why did you choose Stratford over SJSU?
Me: I chose Stratford because it offers a curriculum that fits my area of interest. It's curriculum combines Advanced technology, hands-on lab and the traditional educational method of impacting knowledge to students.
At Stratford university, students spend less time in class taking notes, rather they spend more time at the lab conducting hands on research using advanced technology, which is what I need to be more effective and professional in my area of study and also my basis for selecting an institution.
VO: what do you intend to do after graduation?
Me: I intend to come back home and contribute to the development of information systems in Nigeria by creating and designing newer softwares for information security and database management. And I also intend to establish an IT institute where I'll train students in IT skills.
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My dad.
VO: What does he do?
Me: He is a major distributor of Vitafoam Nig plc and also a contractor of Julius Berger Nig plc.
VO: Vitafoam?
Me: Yes.
VO: What's your highest qualification?
Me: Bachelor of science.
VO: In what course?
Me: Chemistry.
VO: Why are you switching from Chemistry to Information systems?
Me: In a time like this where ICT is taking over the world, I want to be among those to impact that change in my own country.
VO: That does not answer my question. Why are you switching?
MesadNow having no clue what to say)I've always loved working with computer and I want to study this course just to enhance my skills so as to add to the development of information systems in my country.*stuttering*
VO: Sorry at this time I cannot issue you a visa. This paper states the reason why. You can apply again. Thank you!
Me: Thank you!

I applied a 2nd time in april 2018 at the Abuja embassy and was also denied...this time I went fully equipped as I got better answers to every question but was denied still on the basis that I was switching programmes, and the VO said she couldn't get enough information and that was the only question she asked me b4 handing over the green paper. Now I want to apply again but I need to get another I20 from the school but they're requesting for an updated statement of account. Can I send a different account from the one I sent to them previously as it no longer holds the stipulated fund? What other tips do I need to know before embarking on another journey(any possible questions that I may be asked as regards my transcripts)? Fod bless y'all as you do justice to my questions. Thanks in anticipation!

This is Visit Visa(B) platform, You will get a better response if you post your question on Study visa platform(F1).Thanks

I have always promised my wife an unforgettable vacation right from when we were dating and we've done quite a lot locally. In 2013,we planned a South Africa trip that got cancelled last minute by me and a Dubai trip that was also cancelled due to my tight work schedule. So I promised her and the kids that 2018,it was going to be Disney. We scheduled the interview for April, secured a date and
off we went to Lagos. Here is our transcript (window 4)
Wife and I - Good morning
VO - No response
Me - (in my heart) ah ah oh girl,I'm greeting you na.
VO - passports please
Me - hands over the passports
(There was a situation with my kids.My 1 yr old was fast asleep on my shoulders,my wife placed my four yr old on to deck in front of the VO and my 5yr old wanted same treatment. He kept interrupting the mom with this demand as she was answering the VO's questions.)
VO - Where in the US are you going to?
Wife and I - Orlando,Florida
VO - Have you travelled before?
Me - As family,no but I have been to Ghana.(the trip was work related)
VO - What do you do for work?
Me - I'm the principal Architect at xxxxx company.A partnership I founded and head.(I go on to explain what we do).
VO - How many years have you been running this company?
Me - 16yrs.
(She types)
VO - What projects are you currently handling?
Me - Explain in detail all three(3) projects.
VO - How many staff members do you have?
Me - 19
(She types again)
VO - (turns to my wife) Ma'am,what do you do for work?
Wife - I work with xxxxx state government as senior registrar(wife goes on to elaborate on her duties)
VO - How long have you worked there?
Wife - 9 yrs
VO- (moves back to me)Do you have any relatives in the US?
Me - Yes a relative I haven't heard from in 20yrs.
VO- Where is your relative residing in the US?
Me - Right now,i don't know.
VO- Where Will you be staying in the US?
Me - Walt Disney world dolphin resort(I had reservation booked and printed. She didn't ask)
VO - You said you studied Architecture?
Me - Yes.
VO - Where?
Me - told her university for first degree and the one for masters degree .
(She keeps typing)
VO - (repeats an earlier question)How many staff members do you have?
Me - 19.Nine(9) in the head office and 10 at the outstations.
VO - Where is the head office?
Me - told her
(She types again)
VO - do you have any bank statement showing you can sponsor this trip?
Me - hands over my bank statement(account balance a little over N11m)
VO - scrutinizes my bank statement page by page.I mean real scrutiny .She then puts it aside.
VO -When did you travel to Ghana?
Me - March 9-11
VO - picks up our passports, arrange and rearranges them (as if contemplating and debating within her).Kept shuffling the passports and flipping through them casually.Picks up my bank statement again and resume scrutiny as if looking for something.Nods her head twice and starts typing.
VO - Thank you for this information but I ll be refusing your application as we find you ineligible at the moment. You may reapply if you feel your circumstances have changed.
Returns our passports with the blue paper and my bank statement.
Me - (In my heart)Jesu!! After all this grilling.

My wife was disappointed. She suggested we reapply immediately for another interview. She feels the interview went well , that the VO wasn't friendly and was fishing for reasons to refuse our application. We have applied again and secured a date for last week in August and sincerely I'm not keen anymore but my wife and kids want this Disney experience like oxygen itself.

What could possibly have gone wrong?

Thanks for the wonderful works. I've been meticulously following this thread for a while. Please, I've a question. I've a booked appointment at the Consular Office in Lagos in a few weeks. While booking my appointment, I ERRONEOUSLY ticked REGULAR in the Visa Priority column. Moreso, I was supposed to tick the column to show I was earlier refused a visa in the last 6 months. Truthfully, it was an oversight.
However, in the DS 160 Form, I correctly accepted been denied a visa earlier and went ahead to write why I presumed I was DENIED then by the VO. Hope this disparity won't pose problems for me? Thank you House. God bless you guys richly. Amen

Are you sure these
PREVIOUSLY DENIED & REGULAR visa priority option is not a new development?. Because, I didn't see anything of such(previously denied option) while schedule appointment some months ago.

One thing observed during my interview yesterday was the fact that quite a number had no business applying for the visa, a particular lady was bragging to the VO how she earns about 500k from her business on a good month when all she put on from head to toe was not even up to 10k ! the VO rejected her and she started making a scene and was walked out of the place.

Chai Dr pastor,So you still have time to value someone from head to toe during interview,The Lord also tells you to value that?Isookay!

@ayekunle thank God we are getting to a meeting ground

Let's go back to the op
He filled a form
Filled his work details and salary.Listed ALL HIS INCOME.
Went for the interview.
Was interviewed based on his details. He himself said I am an education officer.... Not nnpc. Not CBN. HE didn't say I have a fish farm somewhere or I'm paid DTA. Even if his person in the US is Malia Obama, he still has to prove ties.

He was denied. He came here asking for opinions. I make bold as to assume I can understand cosade's mind set when he made the comment. Remember the comment wasn't made as a sweeping declaration or on its own. It was with regards to the particular fellow that asked.
If from the form he filled and his answers at the interview that he earns 600k, then will the VO import side hustle and sponsor join? I'm not here to talk about civil service, but limiting my scope of argument to the guy that asked a question. If the vo saw all his details not to talk of the fact that he faltered to even answer the work he does, then I do not believe the vos discretion was wrong as all.

Whenever one does as a side hustle, if it's not included in the ds 160 or divulged, then the assumption that he earns his fixed salary remains status quo.
Every person that jumped on the attack cosade 's opinion ship failed to appreciate that simple fact. Transcripts should be treated case by case and objectively without sentiments. Without mixing issues. Or comparing the op to Lagbaja next door....

So let me even ask, do you think a person whose total annual salary is 600 k will find it easy to over come the burden of proof vis a vis flight costs and other expenses? For a vacation?

LadyG
I posted the transcript.Honestly,no one has attacked 'Cosade Baba' it's clarification. I said I stammered not my salary is 50K.I am not account officer so I won't go into salary details.More so,not all graduate are employed based on 'grade 8' there terms and conditions for every recruitment. I think this is what those who know about civil service rules are trying to express!!
Thanks to everyone for yha opinion!!!
