It was in year 2000 on a fateful midnight when my youngest sister (our last born then) developed some health issue. Prior to that time she had a domestic accident that affected the color of her eyes (it turned blue) and she was placed on eye treatment/drops (the domestic accident happened when she was less than a year old).

We were all so fond of her, especially me. I loved her so much. So on this fateful midnight we woke up to see my parents panicking about her. She was taken to the hospital only for my parents to return home alone without her. She was pronounced dead at just age 3. I cried, cried and cried!!!

It was as if life has been taken away from me. I was in JSS 2 then. I felt empty, I couldn't sleep properly!!!

Typing this also makes me to cry.


May your soul continue to rest in peace Mercy... One day we shall see to part no more!!!
