How could nigerians have voted in a terminally sick man in the first? From the day he became a presi-thief,he's been a burden to the nation, wasting already down trodden tax payers money to resuscitate him dying sel. Why did nigerians accept him?Why should an illegitimate government be legitimate if the people are not sick?Point of correction, Nigerian people are not sick but Nigerian leaders are. Infact a law and or something like that is been put in place to ensure that anybody contesting for any political ofiice must be mentaly examined and must be certified to be sane and of sound mind. Are you Nigerian? I doubt. |
tensor777:And who made you everybodies mouth piece? secondly was that the only thing I wrote? Everybody is entitled to their own opinion so if you can't constructively critisise mine via superior argument then keep your shallow mentality to urself. |
@adconline 300k barrels sold way below market value will be sold to these refiners at the same price. Even at that will they still be able to compete with fuel importers? I used dunlop and michelin as an example because they own rubber plantations across the country but even at that due to constant power failure their manufacturing plants had to be run on generators further increasing running cost making imported rubber products cheaper. So even if the raw material (oil) sold way below market value will be sold to these refiners at the same price, I doubt if that factor alone will make locally produced petroleum economically more attractive than imported fuels Let leave generator importers out of this because we cant blame private security outfits for security problems in Nigeria or folks who make "pure" water for inadequate supply of "safe" drinking water.I think u miss my point. What I am saying is that although there are no facts to back it up but it is common knowledge that these fuel and generator importers are the ones that have been sabotaging efforts to repair the refineries and improve the power situation in the country because of their interest and they have a lot of influence on the policies been made, in fact sometimes, most of the time, they make these policies. Get it? |
The poster is obviously seeking attention by stirring up an argument. Ridiculus thread |
If the government succesfully armtwists these oil producing companies into refining, The main questions we should be asking is first of all will the government make it favourable and feasible to actually refine oil in Nigeria? Secondly will there be a ban to the importation of petroleum products? Nigeria is an import driven economy not a manufacturing, producing or refining one. Dunlop and Michelin one of the last surving producing companies have closed their factories as a result of their inability to compete with cheaper imported rubber. And how are they expected to compete when extra costs go into power generation via generators e.t.c? Other manufacturing and product producing companies have discovered that it is cheaper to produce in Ghana and import to Nigeria than to produce in Nigeria (pathetic). Not that I am being pessemistic, in my own opinion the policy sounds like a good idea but in reality considering the state of things in the country it can't work unless the government first of all puts a ban to the importation of petrleum products and Improve on the power situation in the country. which leads me to my last question which is will the bigshots who have profited the most from petrolem and generator imports fold their hands and allow it to happen? |

@poster She's done it before she probably and most likely will do it again. I know it's easier said than done but the rational thing to do is to dump her like a bad habit and drop her like she's hot. My sympathies |
ogb5:Thank you very much for further butressing the point I was trying to make. But we should be watchful be smart, for MEND to declare an end to it's ceasefire and for Bankole to simutanously start playing these decietful politics we need read in between the lines. Futhermore to disclose what they r up to lets try as much as possible to bring in addition to postulations quoted/stated facts 2 the table in addition to postulations and keep an open mind |
Nigeria’s budget for this year was around N3trillion. However, by the time you add the budget of the Niger Delta states alone, it is over N1.5trillion. There are may be over 140 to 150milion people in Nigeria. Niger Delta as about 17million; the remaining 130million is outside the Niger Delta. If these claims are true Bankole should state where he got these statistics from. The mere fact that he is speaker of the house of rep does not mean that everything he says is the way it is. Secondly Nigeria Delta has been reported to be recieving 13% of revenue from oil derivation which accounts for over 90% of the GDP of Nigeria which translates to about 351 billion naira of this years budget so how come Bankole is quoting 1.5 trillion? Lastly if the Niger Delta are already recieving more than 50% of the national budget then why are they agitating for 26% of the revenue derived from oil? (I STAND TO BE CORRECTED ON MY FIGURES) I smell unscrupulus politics from Bankole he is up to no good. However Bankole is right the people of Niger Delta should question their leaders on how they spent their money. But should the questions be limited to only the Niger Delta? Should't every state government or at the least 95% of state governments be quizzed? Is it only in the Niger Delta that government misappropriated funds? If he really meant well he would have generalised that suggestion. I smell a rat. |
@princek12 Rells 2You may not be condoning it but you are definitely encouraging it with your utterances. However that is not my point. My point is that OBJ should not be given credit for creating jobs in any way whatsoever. by doing so you are encouraging (mabye that's the word I should have used in the first instance) corruption because like I said before, others presently in positions of power will do the same thing he did and think they can go scotch free. I have said that that the only way to deter looters is to prosecute them.On that I completely agree with you. But unfortunately, nobody can prosecute OBJ and all those who have looted and are still looting cos they are presently untouchable so like I said earlier on, the best we can do for now to put corruption in check by voicing out and disgracing the past government so the present powers that be would realise what can possibly become of them in the negative even if they walk freely because of the extent of their corruption. And people like you are not helping that cause because you have chosen the manage it mentality of "what u see is what u get na naija we dey". Hypothetically, if Obasanjo uses part of that $16b to build all the roads in Nigeria, I would still call him a criminal and a thief, that he should rot in jail, but I would not deny the benefits of those newly constructed roads to the country just because it was constructed with stolen funds. If OBJ was to do that he would call it OBJ roads and put toll gates to be collecting fares from drivers passing these roads. And of course he would employ 6000 people or more to man the toll gates and collect the fares. And all profits and proceedings would go to OBJ holdings and people like you would still say OBJ you are a thief but thanks anyways. I just realised that the problem is not you, it is me that is answering you I am out of this thread. And by the way by virtue of your opinion in this particular matter, you are not a pragmatist your just in denial. Stop decieving urself. |
@princek12 The point is that it is irrational to condone corruption for the sake of national development. Nobody wants to be labbelled a thief not even a real thief, not even a mega thief like OBJ. We all know how he mindlessly looted Nigeria if we allow him to continue insulting our intelligence and dignity by creating 6000 jobs and expect us to be grateful to him and his likes, we would be sending the incubent governments at all tiers the wrong message which is "please kindly loot us blindly don't fix our roads if we die in road accidents that's our problem, leave our hospitals if we are sick and can't afford to pay for hospital bills abroad then tough luck for us, I'ts okay with us if our children die of hunger and malnutrition but please we would be grateful if you do some little philantropic work when you leave office like job creation for a few thousand of people which you neglected when you had the oppurtunity as president, governor, LGC, councillor e.t.c to create for MILLIONS. Because we have completely lost our dignity, we will forget in a hurry that u ever looted and put us through this sufferings infact we are imbeciles". Need I say more? But however on the other hand what message would we be sending to the incubent government if our reaction is as such "it is you that is the slowpoke to think we would forget so fast your cruelty. We know we cannot do anything to you because you r untouchable. But we would disgrace you at every given oppurtunity, we would expose who you really are to the international community in the media, on the internet, even nairaland. We would pelt you with eggs and tomatoes if we ever see you outside your comfort zone Nigeria, when you die we would ensure that nothing good will be said about you because you have caused so many death's and sufferings". That is the least we can do to put corruption in check in Nigeria, Therefore OBJ should not be commended for cretin those 6000 jobs. Need I say more? |
the first shocker was when Obama shunned Nigeria in his first visit to Africa and rather, chose to make uncomplimentary remarks about the country while in Ghana.Guilty concience. Obama did not directly target those comments to Nigeria. How come Yaradull assumed that Obama was speaking to him. |
Analysts say Mr. Imohe may simply have been expended to help Yar'Adua save face, as it is most unlikely he would have caused such a directive to be given in the name of the highest level, without authorization.I wonder what political appointment Mr Imohe would be given for compensation. Does Yaradull and his cronies really think we would fall for this. |
A suicide bomber enters a restaurant filled with people. But before blowing up everybody he asks the old people in the restaurant to leave then subsequently blows up himself and everyboldy else left in the restaurant. Kudos must be given to him for allowing the aged people in the restaurant leave/live, it shows he has respect. If there were more suicide bombers like that in the world, it will definitetly be a better place. sameway, if there were more looters like obj then Nigeria would be a better place. GrinOK that's it I can't take it any longer. THIS IS MADNESS!!!!. What in the world is wrong with you people? A suiside bomber is a murderer irrespective of whether he kills old or young people. And such people don't deserve to live. Take this practical hypothetical example. If i steal your money and use a tenth of it to buy you a gift do I deserve to be commended? If your answer to that is yes then I will steal your money again and again and again and again. But if you cut if the hand that causeth me to sin I will not ever try it again even if I know I won't be caught. I only want to believe that some people still commending OBJ in this thread are just in denial. They don't want to accept the fact that they were wrong initially. |
@bidemi12 They shall not succeed in brainwashing us.Amen to that brother!!! |
The above statement is quite pathetic.I can't agree more. The glorified ape thinks he can destroy Nigeria the way he did and get away with it. He wanted to be looked upon as a hero by ensuring that a mindless zombie suceeds him as president where the likes of Donald Duke Pat Utomi e.t.c were so that Nigerains will say that at least OBJ tried compared to Yaradull. Now he is providing jobs for people in Ota farms which he practically STOLE FROM NIGERIA DURING HIS TENURE AS HEAD OF STATE IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND REINVESTED IN THAT SAME FARM WITH THE MONEY HE LOOTED DURING HIS TENURE AS PRESIDENT and has now created jobs so people will say at least he is trying. The proceeds derived from OTA farms is meant to come to the Nigerian treasury to be used for infrastructural development and so on. But what does he do? he declares it as profit for Obasanjo holdings. Well since he is apparently untouchable the best we can do is to continue to disgrace him by stonning him literally and verbally at home and in diaspora. He will die one day and he should think about what will be said about him at his death. (Who will you prefer to be Adedibu or Fawhenmi?) |
Please! |
I hope thats what really happened. ![]() |
I cannot believe what i am hearing from you guys . if the gy was such a dullard, why doe she have the record of the most appointed Super Eagles coach in Nigeria's history 5 times now more than any coach in Nigeria. haba, teh guy has had experience to know what he is doing .Cos the sports minstry and NFF/NFA have proven times without number to be headed by dullards thats why they keep reappointing him. Secondly you say he has experience but what has his experience accomplished for the super/green eagles. To me he is just an experienced failure. ![]() |
@Otokx Sorry if I appeared to insult you, I really didn't mean it like that. But however this is a medium to inform and educate ourselves. We should always try and be sure of our facts before we present them. @Obinoscopy Rell 2 I think u're are d half baked graduate (that is if you've actually graduated). On what basis? if I may ask. |
otokx:So in other words it is the university senate that has been on strike. Please dont be too fast to flaunt your ignorance. Understand the functions of ASUU as a union and the functions of a university senate as a governing body within a university. These are some of the reasons we attend/attended university (to get generally educated) but unfortunately the system is so messed up that universities train a bunch of quater baked graduates. No disrespect. |
@ poster what are you? gay? |
@Poster He's just not that into youI reccomend you see this movie. Mabye then your questions will be answered |
Abi, thank God i was not born in October. Catastrophic monthstart a birthday thread when it's your month and keep your bad belle to yourself. Wetin sef? For birthday again? Nawa o |
19th, Hola @ nairaland bday mates (Bisotec, Truphie, Mur, SEFAGO, and emytech) happy birthday to everyone. |
My apologies, @oga4real or ogasatan can you please refer back to the thread "are we going to have sex in heaven" Your attention is needed. |
Whether Ribadu planned to unseat Yaradua or lobbied Ibori should not be of any concern to Nigerians at this moment. The questions we should ask ourselves is whether Ibori is guilty of the charges levelled against him or not and if Ribadu actually has some ill gotten wealth that Ibori claims to know something about. if the answer to both questions is yes (which it most likely is), then both should be made to face the wrath of the law instead of trying to distract people'sattention by talking trash on the pages of newspapers |
If a big bank has a problem and you don't take it out of the market, it would bring down other banks because the big bank, even if it is weak, is able to take market share from a small bank. What would happen is that the big bank would force a number of second- tier, first-tier banks into crisis because they have the clout to take away their market. So it is now a crime to be a big and successful bank, It is also a crime to position yourself in business to be able to do better than your competitors. Therefore the best solution proferred by Sanusi is to literally demarket the banks and sack their CEO's. I sorry for Nigeria. |
[You are nothing less than an heartless fool, how dare u talk of an 11 year old boy whose life journey was/quote] |
As a scientist, I totally disagree with the conclusion of this research. In carrying out research work, test materials (in this case the children) should be subjected to the same conditions. In this particular type of study factors to be taken into consideration should incude conditions such as social, environmental, nutrition, family e.t.c. The only thing that should be variable is the "SPANKING". Therefore the data gathered is flawed because any other thing apart from spanking could have altered the results of the IQ of the experimental children in the study. Simple. Except the poster did not properly explain the methodology of the research. |
