pator: Congrats on your double blessing remkay. Meanwhile, butland is correct because I had similar case with his. Our visa was issued before we had our baby. The CO also told us then to go with our passport and come back after the baby is born but we insisted he should issue our visa first and then come back for the baby's own when he is born and he obliged. After we had the baby I sent mails to the embassy and they told us exacttly what butland said. I sent another to confirm if we would be paying for the baby visa, they said no. Because the baby will not be issued a separate visa but his passport will be joined with that of the mother. They said our case was closed as soon as our visa was issued. We will only pay for the baby's greencard processing.
Wow! that is great. Did they ask you to get international passport for the baby? if that is the case they will prepare that baby visa seperately. Though, it was stated clearly in our letter given to us that we are going to pay visa fee for our baby and we did when we returned. Well, it might be different from his own. I am only advise him to prepare for both payment.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by remkay2012: 8:44am On Jul 10, 2013
dutmond: @remkay2012...congrats...if you go through my post again, you will find out that our cases are different...my wife and I already have Visas....our baby is yet to have..as I just applied for my baby's passport today...I sent mail to the embassy and their response is for me to return with int. passports, visa packages, child's birth cert, immunization cert,3 passport photo for the kid and transportation letter fee of $165. Nothing like $330 as you said earlier.....congrats once again
@ dutmond....Thank you so much for your congratulatory message. Please, I will advise you to go with $330 visa fee for your baby and try to fill DS230 form for her with 3 passport photograph to be on safer side. I am saying this, because we have passed through this situation. Our cases are similar, the only different is that you and your wife visa was approved that very day while our own also was approved but the CO asked us to come back for our visa issuance with our baby's passport.

I wish you good luck and congratulations.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by remkay2012:
First, I would like to appreciate almighty God for His mercy and favour upon my family during our interview on 11th of June. I also appreciate my good friend Gentiger for his personal support and my big friend Temmytanny and all members of this forum. Infact, you guys are doing great.

We arrived U.S embassy around 5:45a.m on that very day. Then my wife was 9month old pregnant. After normal security inspection we moved in into the interview hall where we are the second candidate to be attended to. We submitted our necessary documents such as 1. Original Certificate of my wife as main applicant. 2.Our wedding Certificate, 3. All our international passports 4. 3 copies of our 2x2 passport photographs. 5 NPC attestation(Abeokuta) for me and my wife and NPC birth certificate for our baby. 5 Police report for me and my wife 6. Medical report for the entire family (3 in number).

We are called to window 14 by around 8:30a.m. Our interview was brief and short as stated below:

Co: Good Morning
Me and my wife: Good morning Sir, how was night?
Co: Fine thank you with smile.
Me: I raise my daughter up and asked her to say HI to the Co.
My daughter: Hi
Co: Hi with excitement.
Co: He showed us all our forms that we sent to kcc for confirmation.
We: yes
Co: He asked us to do finger print and normal oath that what is in the forms are very correct.
We: Yes
Co: Who is the main applicant
We: My wife
Co: Highest Education
My wife: S.S.C.E
Co: Year
My wife: 19... but I submitted GCE of 19....
Co: Do you have you school cert with you
My wife: She presented it with just only 2 credits (He collected it and return it back).
Co: I can see that you are pregnant
My wife: Yes
Co: When is the due time.
My told him: Next week.
Co: I will return all your passport to you and your original document and return immediately you deliver your baby for your visas.
We: No, We want you to issue for 3 of us first and later we will bring our baby for her visa.
Co: He said we should not worried that he will issue for the entire family when we return. (He returned all our documents as he stated).
We: Okay.
Co: He gave a white paper stating that we should return any day from Monday to Thursday 7:00 a.m with the following document 1. International Passport for the entire family, 2. Birth certificate for the new baby, 3. Medical report for the new baby and 4. payment for the baby.

Glory be to God almighty, we had our baby the following week of our interview. After the naming ceremony,we quickly get the necessary documents for the baby including the international passport.

On Monday 8th July we returned back to the embassy. We submitted all required documents for the baby and international passports for the entire family.

Co: Welcome back and congratulations for the new born baby(Window 14)
We: Thank you.
Co: Is the the form for your new baby.
We: Yes
Co: Somebody should sign for your baby.
I: I did.
Co: I can see you baby was born on .......
We: Yes
Co: Congratulation to the entire family.

He circle the address for collection of our visa and any form for payment of immigration fee. That is all about the interview.

We had interview together with Jinny123 and mata1ng the same day.

dutmond: Hello great house, I have come back to share my interview experience at US embassy on 21st June.

After winning the lottery last May 1st, I did court wedding/engagement with my (then) Fiancee in the month of Sept. I called KCC and was advised to add my wife to my case which I did by re-sending updated forms. I prepared very well for the interview, I even wrote/passed microsoft exam a day before the interview and result was presented on interview day.

Note that my wife was 9month pregnant as at day of interview and we were called to windows 16.

Interview goes thus;

CO: good morning
We: good morning sir
CO: do u swear to say the truth
We: yes sir (while right hand raised)
We were then intructed to do finger prints which we did.
CO: wife please have your seat while I attend to your husband first
We: ok
CO: what's your highest qualification
Me: Higher National Diploma
CO: field of study?
Me: Elect/elect engineering
CO: how did you meet your wife
Me: I explained
CO: was your traditional wedding the major wedding
Me: yes and we did Civil wedding too
CO: okay, show me your wedding pictures
Me: (while showing him, I told him names of the people inside the pictures)
CO: who is this standing with you wife?
Me: that's my wife's kid sister
CO: how old is she?
Me: 26yrs or so
CO: I can see your wife is pregnant, how old pregnant?
Me: she is in her 9th month
CO: really! (with surprise)
Me: yes

Without inviting my wife for questioning, he just brought out two white sheets and circled one address and told me to pick up our visas the following friday.

CO: any question?
Me: pls what is the latest time/date my wife/baby can join me in the US.
CO: (while checking the calender,) first week of november, you know your medicals should not expire before traveling.
Me: that's true...thanks and God bless you.

While leaving the embaSsy that day, some workers there were saying "congrats Oº°˚˚°º , make u celebrate for us na, abi u no no say na US citizen ur wife go born"...I still don't understand wot they mean.

To cut the story short, I now have our visas. And my wife gave birth 4 days after our interview.

I then emailed the embassy to inform them of recent development, we were advised to return to the embassy with the baby's passport, birth cert, immunization cert and $165.

Guys, na so God take bless me in the month of June Oº°˚˚°º ...I am to travel 1st to US by month end, and wife/baby to join me as soon as I am feasibly settled (b4 november sha)...Cincinnati Loading...

I give thanks to God...and pray that all you guys awaiting your interview, you shall return to give your success experience IJN...

God bless nairaland
Congratulation dutmond! I have the same issue like yours and our visa has been approved yesterday and for my new baby. Please when you are taken your baby for her visa, you should fill the ds230 form and 4 2x2 passport photographs for your baby.

The payment for your baby is not $165 immigartion fee, is payment for visa fee for your baby $330. You should make sure you have all required necessary document for your baby for the interview.

kenny3: @remkay2012 n amedino1, thank you friends and God bls. I have testimonial n certificate of the Waec I retook, spent just 2 years in d school for I went dir to retake, my GCE cert n my HND cert, but I do not have any doc from my secondary sch whr I spent 5 year, though I filled both secondary schools on d kcc form, must I get d first secondary school cert n testimonial? Or it is not necessary to travel n get it since I never used it....I am thinking it is necessary since that was whr I finished d 5 years secondary school before going to retake in another sch whr I had 4 credits n later sat for GCE whr I had d 5th credit to complete my 5 credits...tnx n God bls u all
Not WAEC you retake, the one you did during your secondary school period where you spent 5 years. It does not matter you have all any credit from it, is just to proof that you have 12years both primary and secondary school eduacation. If the CO did not ask it from you, don't mention it to him at all. But you will need to submit your 2nd WAEC result that you re-take with GCE to complete 5credits, medical result, police report, NPC attestation.

Make sure you get the testimonia and the result of your first WAEC even without credit.
TravelRe: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by remkay2012:
kenny3: @remkay2000, pls I am still waiting for you pls, my highest qualification is HND Bus Admin, Laspotech, Isolo......, tnx n God bls u
Kenny3, sorry for the delay in response. I have little challeges with my computer and I can not use my phone to post your reply.

Believe me you are good to go but, you have to go and collect your WAEC result in your secondary school that you stated in your form. Just take it along but do not submit it to those who checking the credientials. You will need to submit both WAEC/GCE results that you have made 5credits with your HND result to the official.

During interview, the CO may ask you when did you finished your secondary education? you answer by stating year on your certificate that you stated in your form that you submitted to kcc. He will tell you to show him, because that is where the name of your school will be appear, probably your date of birth. Reason is that you have already have 5credits in 2sittings. The other result is just an evidence that you completed the high school. Make sure you also collect your testimonia with it. You dont need to have any credit on your school WAEC but you must collect as an evidence.

pator: Are you going to put to bed before or after your interview? If after your interview, all you need to do is to get the baby's passport, immunization record from the hospital you are using and 3 passport photograph of the baby. You will then go back to the embassy with your own visa package and they will join your passport with that of the baby. This can be done anytime after delivery and of course before Sept 30. So you don't need to wait till after 3 month.

kenny3: Good day all, congrats to all people that got their visas, God bls u all. PLZ, where can one get the npc birth certificate from? For i hv been using affidavit for over 3 decades now, a native of Ogun state, got the affidavits in Lagos years back though and I saw that one cant submit affidavit. I had asked this before...let someone PLEASE give answer, tnx n God bls u all
@ Kenny3. Which Local Government of Government are you from? You don't need to go to Surulere. Go to you Local Government, ask for NPC office tell them that you need attestation of birth. They will give you format for High Court Affidavit which you can do in Federal High Court or State High Court, Abeokuta. You will take it back to their L.G. office in your Area, they will do necessary adjustment. Mind you, one of your parent will do the affidavit, so you will need some pictures of one of your parent and yours. After the processing, you will take it to Federal Secretariat Abeokuta, beside Federal High Court where your Certificate will be issue inform of letter (attestation).

I also proccessed mine and my wife in Abeokuta at the rate of N2,500 and it was acceptable in the Embassy.

i left ikeja early as 4:30am with the taxi i chattered for 3k and finally got to the embassy by 5:30am after getting lost on the way. There was crowd of people already waiting
Later by 6:00am the secruity man ask us to form a line and thier security check started we were ask to sumit our 2nl and a blue tag and a slip to enter your contact information and another slip for payment was given to us then we were checked again and again before we went into the hall. At the entrance we were given another number to go and pay the visa fee.after paying we sat down and wait for our documents to be collected.later my number was called at window 21 to submit my documents.i submitted police report, medical, school certificates and npc. No affidavit was collected. Then interview started at window 13 for non immigrants and 2 white co at 14 and 15 for immigrants window 14 was a gentle guy given visa like water but he regected a guy with only 3 credits in waec. While waiting, i was praying that my number should not flash in window 15 cos the guy too dey take person time.finally by 11:00am behold my number flash at window 14 and i walked up to the him. I was so damn confident because i have been in the front sit facing his window and have been hearing all his conversations. Trust me i get sharp ears. I already know how my interview is going to go. pator: We got to the embassy around 6.20 a.m. We parked at the car park for #1,000 and then move to the U.S embassy to join the line around 6.30 a.m. I will say we were already late by then because the line was already long. Just about 4 people came after us (jaspa 400 was one of those who came after us). We went through all the protocols and in the hall we paid $990 (for my son, my wife and me). We submitted our documents and waiting for the COs to arrive. They finally started the interview around 8.30 a.m. First at 2 cubicles, (14 and 15) later another CO joined at 16. They were all male. The first 3 people that were called were all couples, 2 with children the other without children. All of them were granted visa. My family was number 4 to be called at window 14. The guy in window 14 was the youngest and seems to be tough on the first couple he interviewed. He spent almost 30 minutes with them before he granted them visa. The interview proper went this way:

CO: Good morning
Me, Wife and Son: Good morning sir
CO: Can you sign this form on the yellow line?
Me: Sure (I signed and he gave my wife her own to sign and then asked me to sign for my son)
CO: Do you swear to say the truth
Me: Yes we do
Co: Who is the principal applicant?
Me: Me
CO: What is your highest qualification?
ME: Bachelor Degree
CO: Which school
Me: O.A.U
CO: Did you serve
Me: Yes
CO: Where
ME: Benin
CO: Ok
She then turned to my wife
CO: Madam, you are expecting a baby?
Wife: Yes
CO: When are you due
Wife:XYZ
Co:O.k you will process her visa separately after delivery OR I will return your passport to you, when you have your baby you can come back and I will issue for all of you
ME:No, cant you issue for the 3 of us first and when the baby comes we will process her own separately
CO: of course I can if you want.
ME: Yes I want
Co:ok
He then brought out the white paper, circle the address and told us to go there on tuesday next week to collect the visa. He also gave us the sheet for payment of GC processing and told us to get passport and medical report for the baby and bring her after delivery. That was the whole story people. In less than 5 minutes we were done. I went with heavy albums with a lot of supporting documents, non of them were asked for.

POINT TO NOTE
1. It seems they have surplus visa left as they were not really thorough in the interview again as much as they did in the earlier stage.(My thought though). So, it is an encouragement for those with high case number it might after all be a blessing in disguise for you.
2. I went with 2 O Level results, one SSCE and one GCE same year in 1995. The SSCE has P7 in English while all other results were very good, while GCE has Credit in English with all other results also good. The guy told me both of them were fine and he advise I use the WAEC with P7 in English it doesnt matter. So, 5 credit is 5 credit not necessarily in any subject.

I thank God for everything and very grateful to this forum too. I met jaspa 400 over there I'm sure he will share his testimony soon.
2.
Congratulation Pator.I am in the same shoe with you. What is your dress code for the interview with your pregnant woman? Just for guide.
