What's all these flexing of muscles for...
Can't competent gov. reps meet over a meditating table and straighten out the kinks therein.
It's ridiculous and quite embarrassing to continue to up the tempo in this public show of shame.
BTW, one should learn to always choose one's battles carefully..
... otherwise you go collect.. grin
They met , had an agreement and the UAE threatened the sovereignty of Nigeria hence the show of power. Its unfair, that Nigeria gave UAE 21 weekly routes to Nigeria, 14 to lagos and 7 to Abuja, and UAE cant give Nigeria 3 weekly flight slots to their second busiest airport.

Nigeria reduced UAE flights to once a week, UAE insulted the country demanding a reversal ‘or else’. This hs resulted to the complete ban.

I think the ministry of aviation and the Government team did the right thing. If anyone wants to go to Dubai, they should fly to Qatar and find their way in, same for Nigeria, fly to Ghana and find your way in until this issue is resolved

Do you really think a subscription to a religion will save you from a impending doom ? Its ok to choose to believe fallacies, but it isnt ok to use your believe to scar others. Its your life , do it as you wish but dont drag others along with you

I will share my personal story. My grand father was an believer who preached similar message of the coming even before my parent was born. He gave his all to save peoples life and choose not to educate his children because there was a second coming and you wont need earthly education in heaven. Needless to say his last born. Is now in his 60s with my grand father long gone and we are still waiting for this second coming. Poverty is the bane of my family as economic hardship does not bend to the will of religion.

We did not subscribe to a religion before we were created, i think we do mot need to subscribe to one to get to the next phase of life if it does exist. So it may be better to live in the present than to live in an uncertain future

The path is being Created for the rise of the anti christ. The UN definitely has a Part to play in the rise of the antichrist.

We are hearing the call for "Peace and Safety" The Bible says when they say Peace and Safety, sudden Destruction comes. Just as we see All over the places.

When you read the book of Revelation 13, you will get more insight on this.

Right before our Eyes right outside the UN building in Newyork is a Sculpture that Perfectly describes what John the Beloved and Daniel saw over 2000 yrs ago when talking about the rise of the Beast.

Revelation 13:2
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Daniel 7:4a
The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings.

What an interesting time to be alive.
If your Eyes are open, you will see that all the Endtimes actors are already on Ground, waiting for their time.

Folks Don't mess with your soul! The End is Starring us in the Face! Subscribe to JESUS Christ to avoid the Calamities and Disaters warming up to ravage this world.

The same God that enriched our land, He is still on his throne, only if people like you will pray to him to help us use our mental capacity and help us with capable leaders.
Have you considered that God may be a she ? Also, do you really think our creator need you and I to pray or appease him/her/they before doing things for us ? Did we do such, to get our eyes, legs, ears and those who didnt got half eyes and when you pray to God the missing parts will be restored ?

I think what we think about the God system is what other humans have told us, and what poster was trying to say is We should stop, take a moment and access what we have been told all our lives and make requisite changes.

Whether you go for that conference or not, it probably does not affect the plans of the creator.

Hi,

Kindly note that I am in no way trying to change your perspective about the Christian religion. I think we all are in the search to understand the world around us and different people use different system and it works even if it only has a placebo effect.

In addition, there is a saying that our morning is when we wake up. I love this because it gives everyone the opportunity to come to terms with the world around us at our individual pace.

I’ll add one more thing, do you know why Mary Magdalene, who’s testimony of seeing the Angel that Jesus had risen on the third day, does not have a book in her name in the new testament ? Could such book exist but had been censored by leaders of the society at that time ? Did they connect with the heavens to get approval to censor Mary’s books if it exist ? I do not expect you to have answers to these question, but , some historical findings suggests she may not have had a book in her name due to how they lived at that time. As long as humans dictated what makes it into the bible, there is a high chance that its fallible.

Do have a great week
Nothingserious:
Lol!

You are a smart fellow. Thanks for your input.
I understand your point. I appreciate that.

You now speak like Apostle Paul in Acts 17 when he met the philosophers in Athens.

Well, what we do is just an academic exercise. It doesn’t shake our faith. Why? Because belief in God is a basic and warranted belief in humans that needs no proof just like our basic need to breathe air effortlessly, our basic need for food, our basic need for association and care.
Belief in God is basic and warranted. QED.

But then, Jesus made claims in the Bible and said he came from God.

“All things have been entrusted and delivered to Me by My Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Son except the Father, and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son deliberately wills to make Him known.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:27‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
https://www.bible.com/8/mat.11.27.ampc

If Jesus claimed to have come from God, and to know God and to reveal God to people, and to bring the kingdom of God closer to men, then we have to ask whether Jesus can be believed in.

First of all, did Jesus Christ of Nazareth exist?
Yes. History and archeology confirms that.

Did he do the things claimed by the Bible?

Yes, history and archeology confirms that.

Did he teach about God and performed supernatural feats?
Yes. History and archeology confirms that.

Did he teach about God?
Yes he did.

So can we believe in Jesus if all he did and said are true?

Yes we can.

Was Jesus baptized, died and resurrected?
Yes as confirmed by history and archeology.

Does Jesus live in the hearts of all who believe in him?

Yes as confirmed by his believers( although this is a subjective experience and can be shared by any Christian who believes and had experienced salvation in Jesus Christ).

So if all Jesus said and claimed is true, then all he said and claimed about God is true and can be believed to be true.

The burden of proof now tilts towards anyone who wants to say these are not valid truths.
Cheers.

“For as I passed along and carefully observed your objects of worship, I came also upon an altar with this inscription,

To the unknown god.

Now what you are already worshiping as unknown, this I set forth to you.

The God Who produced and formed the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade shrines. Neither is He served by human hands, as though He lacked anything, for it is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people]. [Isa. 42:5.]

And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes),

So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us.

For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.”

I think you are connecting the existence of a religion, christianity, with the existence of the unknown that set the Universe in motion, God.

Personally, I do not think the almighty needs anyone of us to prove or disprove his/her existence because we all came into this world without our consent and we sure will leave without it as well.

In addition, I do not think the almighty who created us whole will ask us to go to a different tribe to get the manual of how to communicate with him/her/they. I mean, if truly Isreal is the choosen generation, why didnt God give only Osraelite full pr*ck or human body and the rest of the world half and its only an Israelite that can share theirs to make us whole? Instead, irrespective of our race or background we, christians, muslim, buddhist, Sangoist, Ifaist, nothing-ist, all have thr basic human features. Humans are created equal however, as our society evolved there seem to be a need for class and religion helps put this in place, US bs them.

My point is, there is a high chance that we have been indoctrinated to defend a religion as it were the right thing and this may have been possible because we all want to escape from the shackles of poverty. For example, most of our parenta got an education or even scholarship abroad because they were smart and within a religious sect. We all want to escape poverty and education remains the key to escaping.

One more thing are you an Engineer, and I ask because of your reference to calculus- backward integration.

Nothingserious:
Yes. It is not an evidence for God’s existence.

One of the arguments for God’s existence is the life, baptism , death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
So many never believed in the historical Jesus Christ. This if confirmed true implies Jesus Christ truly had disciples who worshipped him as claimed by the Bible and who had a church as claimed by the Bible and who were real as claimed by the Bible.

By deductive reasoning and backward integration, one could work one’s way backwards to confirm the historical Jesus Christ and his influence through his resurrection on the disciples who were radically changed and emboldened after his resurrection. If this is true, then the arguments for God through Jesus Christ is also valid and stands as one of the evidences for God’s existence. Of course all these historical and intellectual arguments is for the skeptic.
They do not form part of the faith of the Christian which purely comes from the Holy Spirit and the Bible and the finished work of Jesus Christ and his atonement death.
They only strengthen the faith of a Christian who doubts sometimes.

‘Only those who….’ The creator of mankind never put such conditions towards our individual existence. Think about it, if you accept this religious belief or not, as long as a sperm interacts with the ovaries under the right condition, a new human life will be formed.

I think such conditions were set by humans back in the day where people had to comply to save their lives. For example, it was reported that Most people converted to islam to avoided being taken as slave.

My advise, if you can please summon the courage to challenge these ideologies you seek to push. You did nit bring it from heaven but met it here. I mean the creator of the universe is an intelligent being that he gave each of us what we need to survive in this world, he sure did not ask us to get the manual of life from a group just because the had worn past wars.

I come in peace

OP is a JJC who just arrived in the US, most likely. Home is where you make it. If you are in the US or Nigeria, live your life and if possible try not to compare what’s it’s like on the other side.
bloggerblogger2:
YOU MAY AGREE OR DISAGREE.

A 100K monthly salary earner in Nigeria is better than a 400K monthly salary earner in the United States.

The luxury lifestyles some of us live here with 100K, cannot sustain us a day over there. We can’t try such in US and save a dim.

Some of our annual rent here is weekly/ monthly rent over there. Can you pay over 100K naira monthly house rent with 400K monthly salary here in Nigeria? You can’t do that, but you don’t have a choice over there. You pay or kicked out of the house.

Some of our people over there are becoming wiser now. They don’t mind sleeping on the streets, work for at least 5-10yrs, move back to Nigeria with their savings. You cannot survive with 100M living comfortably a year over there. Tax go finish you up. But you can live large with 100M for 5yrs or more here in Nigeria depends on your lifestyles tho.

You don’t pay unnecessary tax here. But in foreign countries you pay almost everything.
In naija you can own 10 cars..not in the United States because you pay for packing space for each car. You get the point now?

Some of our people in diaspora, once they earn $10K in a month or so, depends on the job, they’d send $9K down to their Nigeria account and keep $1K for their upkeep. Some would buy lands and build houses for rent or some other businesses.
If you don’t do that, you’d work all your life and come back with nothing. Those of you on this method are wise. But becareful of the people you send your money to here. Trust no one! Get a trustworthy lawyer involved.

U can make unnecessary noise or play loud music here. You can’t try such over there and not find yourself in police cell.

So you see….We are privileged here. We only need to get bad political leaders off the way. By getting involved in politics, national, state, LGA and community affairs. That’s how American youth you admire, do.

They don’t just fold hands, wailing and waiting for a miracle. They debate, disagree, challenge, involved and create. You get the point now?

While this is a welcome development, I wonder why the owners of the helicopter are not the ones doing the renovation because this is where insurance comes in. What the Government provides should be an added advantage and the Airline and not the Government should be the one bankrolling all of these damages especially as they pay insurance premium andwe are in a capitalist society.

He orded an immediate integrity test conduct on both of the affected buildings to know the level of impact, and plegde to renovate them and provide all the necessary support to cushion the effects of this tragic incident .

I type this with tears in my eyes. I decided to share say this here because if I need somebody to hear my voice, as I approach my end.
If I write this on Facebook, family and friends will see it and panic will set in, I don't want that. Devoid of our differences, Nairaland is also family to me.
The choices I made in life are mine, but the forces at work are overwhelming. I was weak to their manipulations.
All I ever wanted was to be an Engineer, to make mama proud and take care of my siblings.
Believe me I have Love in my heart. I wanted to just be a better version of myself but nothing seems to work.
When it seems like I am making a little progress, my desires are there to remind me that I am only but a prisoner.
It appears to me that I was created a failure. I failed my family once again, myself, Society and God almighty.
Now I am not afraid of death, I am only sad as I picture the face of Mama, Papa, Brothers and sisters crying while I lay motionless oblivious of everything( I know I will surely hear their wailing from the other side)
I don't want to be judged, but that isn't really my choice to make.
The next 3 weeks will be very crucial to my existence, if I survive it, then I will know that I will grow old and reach 95( I have always told anyone that cares to listen that I will live to 95).
I know they are not reading this now, and nobody that knows me personally is; I just want to tell mom that I love her. To dad; All I wanted was to make him proud. To my brothers and lovely sisters: I love you guys, take care of mom and dad and succeed where I have failed.
To my Nairaland family, God bless you all. I will miss the Afonja's, Ipobs, Nyamiris, Brown roofs, red mud, Arewa's(do they even have any special insulting name like the rest of us?)Lala and his snakes, the feminists( feminists are wonderful people, thank God they don't breed well). Lol

Most recently some tech company leaders decided to sleep on the street in support of the homeless because the case is pretty alarming.

BBC should simply go back to UK and do a documentary on their lives. Come to think of it. It’s not their fault, When NTA is being run by some dimwit, shouldn’t they send reporters to London to do a similar documentary. This propaganda of it has to be white to be right must stop!

This does not require long story. Whether the culture seeds a child to father is not an issue, the child determines whom they love . Your story does not turn a man to ATM or cash cow that must be milked for survival. You cannot use somebody's parents wealth to award cost against him.

I know the case of a Lagosian that is very wealthy living in Ikoyi that has a similar case known by many people. At certain age the child returns to the father. In a polygamous environment with so many investment & political goodwill, the child is at advantage except the mother is bad. It is the child that looses if he ignores the father.

You ask the question if the court have the system of deducting from his account? Is the court going to fund the account? Or they will order his father or mother to fund the account.
I remember a lady that made outrageous demand from a person to take care of two children some years ago. She said she made the demand based on his father capability as a world politically famous person. What happens if the person or his mother is not in good term with his father based on ideology.

The problem is not even the 250K, there will be other miscellaneous bills. He has no option but to settle those bills as the children will always be calling him. Divorce is never a good option especially when it comes from the man
You made a good point, however it is extreme Tolu unfair to consider the woman asking for support for herself and her children as Turning the husband to ATM machine.

You really need to understand that having a family is an investment that needs to be catered for till it becomes self sufficient. Whether the man likes it or not, he has to invest in his children and does not need to wait for his children to ask before he gives them. That is what a father does. He sees your need before you require it and makes it available. There is a parlance that day Na where person Dey work, na there hin dey chop. The mother is in custody of the children and is entitled to chop out of the money.

I don’t pray to be divorced but my prayer is even if I find myself in similar situation may I have the capacity to afford more than enough is required to cater for my family even though I don’t live ve with them.

Sir, please permit me to say that you are quite stupid and unexposed. Before you get angry let me explain myself.

1. African Culture seeds the good child to the father whether he invested in the child’s life or not. Basically, We men tend to reap where we do not sow and this judgement is trying to correct that by ensuring the Fathers provides for his family regardless of his relationship with his children’s mother.

2. The role of a mother is actually a full time job that doesn’t end at 8 to 5pm but round the clock. If the children turn out bad, the mother takes the blame but if they put good, they are considered the real children of their father.

3. Being a Father means you are responsible for your family at the very least, no be by mouth. It’s his responsibility to ensure his family have food and live in a decent place. A boss is a boss because he puts food on the table for his men.

Finally before you go off on me, let me share my personal experience.

I was raised by a single mother who struggled literally to give me a good education. We lived in some face-me-I-slap-you in Ojuelegba while my father enjoyed his luxury apartment in Ikoyi. I was his first child living in poverty while he was comfortable. Mind you my parents were legally married and separated during the course of their marriage, it wasn’t as if my mother was a street lady he got pregnant.
I once visited my father in his office After graduation from college and was working and self sufficient. His friends asked were I studied and I mentioned one of the leading private universities. In awe, my friends Dad were hailing him for sending me to such school, he didn’t deny or tell them the truth. He simply soaked it in, that I was his son.
The truth, my mother paid my fees with every 5 Naira she had. I always paid my fees with all the denominations she gets from the market in Lagos. Now, my father calls me regularly, and I have no choice but to let bygone be bygone.

My point, the Man will still come out to claim the children in the future based on the African Culture. He will reap where he didn’t sow which is unfair. The judge did the right thing making N250,000 ( $700) available to the family. My only fear is I doubt the court has a system of automatically deducting the money straight from the guys account.

I look forward to a judicial system that will protect the women and children in Africa.

Learn how to allow your kids use their talents and enjoy what they have passion for, no matter how rich you are.
For every Davido there are over 1000 Artists who fell by the way Side and did not blow. Some had to re-assess to pursue another career. Others even travlled to the US to start again, thankfully got a regular job. Infact there is a popular one who is a Sailor (non-commissioned aka Soldier)in the US Navy.

No one know tomorrow, so hope for the best and guide your children to the best of your abilities

She's right though, but there are instances that warrant long relationships e.g age, education, maturity, readiness etc. but doesnt really work for everyone.
I have a friend that her boyfriend left after 5 years when he got a multinational high paying job last year after struggling with him for years, his excuse was that he is not ready to settle down, imagine how hurt she felt
This is one of the reason I ended the relationship with my lady. Always quick to quote years of being in a relationship as a crown. Yes, I got a better job, and trying to map out the next plan of action but my girl was more concerned on the 7year relationship leading to a marriage. Honestly, i decided to end it to save the troubles of counting years on my head. My simple point, it takes two to tango. If he isnt ready he isnt ready

u are a deranged deluded gadamnn douchebag...I'm damn sure I'm older more experienced than both of you...You so daft and dumb that you think everyone on nairaland is a minion like you...

I grew up in my house seeing whites and i have been living abroad after my university which is over a decade now..And I'm sure you are still crumbling and masturbating on false news and wishing for a overnite miracles....

I made my comments from firsthand experience, dude from where did you gather yours?the only sensible thing in your post was the mention of the new Generation Nigerians in US..Which i happen to have a firsthand knowledge of, my Younger sisters are in California.

If u wanna quote me please make sure your senses are intact..If not i will deliver you the good old days before the media frenzy...'ignore dumb fools'
Bros, Ancient of Days, The Aged One, I didnt know it pained you o.

Please how did we link masturbation with this issue. Were you doing that at the time of reading my post ? Do you mean you dont have a wife or side chick at your old age? I guess aging comes with wisdom, partucularly act of conversation which you most likely lack.

I will not join issues with you on your rant, because I have come a long way maybe just like you or even better.

The crux of my message is that everyone has a story behind their success.

I dont know how Pretty Mike Made his money but I have an idea how our people who make between $500 to $1000 per week living in US struggle to earn their money.

Thus they have dignity in their labour and have every right to spend their money the way the like.

bro u suppoz don wise pass diz naa...Lol@750 per week ask him how much is his overhead a month..?except he is all doz typical sufferhead people...Because a standard house not in oyinbo slum area is btw 1500/1700...minus utility bills..If you took a car loan...Hummm,phonebills,water,trash,light is the worst during winter is worst...Food......D guy is just a fool because even the mention was irrelevant...Mind you the aforementioned salary hasn't been taxed...

Anyways i know most nigerians here eat only pigs, expired foods, milk etc from malls na africans get am..Just because dem dey manage and to only buy new clothes, phones and shoes 3 days to travel home and show off..Huh...Advanced complex problems just to oppress people who want to be oppressed or already oppressed by their sick good for nothing savages (politicians ).
Jealousy Jealousy na him dey worry you.

Yes you are right with the high over head cost, but you are missing the point.

1. The guy earns what he worked for, and not having any dubious means.

2. Accomodation is not as expensive as you have portrayed. In Texas area, Mortgage is about $800 to $1000, insurance bills and everything brings it up to $1500 to $1700 but note they are paying mortgage and not rent. But hey, this covers school fees for upto 4 Children per household, that is you do not have to pay yoyr child school feez from elementary to highschool (16 years).

3. You are the one opprressed because everyone thriving in the US have a story to tell but thank God for making headways. Families live on $3000 per month and can take care of their nuclear family. p

4. There is a new generation of young nigerians in American who earn between $70,000 to $250,000. The only differnece is we all are equal whether gateman o, nurse o, toilet man o, engineer o, dr o, we naturally wont show off.

5. I natuarally dont support gwtting a car note, so Id rather buy salvaged car fix, and pay cash. Nevertheless, if one can afford the luxury of dropping $500 for an SUV, why are u taking panadol for his headache.

My point is, you really dont know about life in the US, and its best you just siddon look to learn from other peoples experience, pick what will benefit you and move on.

Bottomline, respect other peoples' hustle
